S11.E06: Murphy's Law

This was a frustrating episode. William has lost a lot of food to the pine marten and other critters. One would think by now he'd have tried to secure it better. That hanging meat in the smoker was just inviting a scavenger to come in.

Dub may be an asshole but at least he knows it, LOL. We could make an Alone bloopers video at least 5 minutes long of contestants over the years losing fish in just that way. Like DUH.

And I think this is the second time someone has not filmed when hunting and we only see what they got. I don't remember that happening much in previous seasons.

Is it just coincidence about all the severe constipation? In that guy's case it looks like it runs in his family. Since I had my gallbladder removed I've suffered from it off and on too. A little fiber supplement and a prune a day do the trick for me.

They are really teasing us with all these ailments. More chest pains like on Alone Australia. This group has its physical issues. Is it something in the food or water? They're dropping like flies and it's only 20 days in. On previous seasons they were made of tougher stuff.

It felt like to me like maybe Isaiah was looking hopefully to the medical team to tap him so he didn't have to leave on his own.

THIS. Isaiah was practically begging to be taken out of the game. He's still setting up his narrative for his eventual tap out. "I'm too young to leave my family etc".  I'm so tired of him.

I did feel sorry for Jack though. He might have been willing to die rather than tap, but the doctors weren't going to let him. Losing your intestines to an obstruction is no joke and the rest of your life is messed up. Glad he recognized that he had to leave.

I do wish they would give us updates on the people they've extracted.

Some people are more prone to it, I am one of them and I too take fiber pills and eat a fiber/ruffage filled diet to make sure I stay regular. Any time I go a few days without it I pay the price, and these people are not eating a well-balanced diet to begin with so it's gonna happen.

Yea, he was really leaning into it!

I hope Sarah pulls out of her bad self talk

Yikes, is it the solace and the need to fill the silence that makes people feel the need to share all of their trauma from childhood? I guess I'm just someone who doesn't like to replay every bad experience for the general public. All of these people are doing something I would NEVER be able to do, I have nothing but total respect.

Neither is losing your life, which is another possible outcome.  Bowel obstructions are not something to mess around with.

I think Isaiah's chest pains are due to acid reflux.  Sometimes when you don't eat anything, all you have is your stomach acid.  He was doing plenty of up and down work that could push that acid up into his esophagus (right behind the sternum), plus laying flat while sleeping.  The shortness of breath is probably weakness and anxiety.

I was a little surprised the two grouse were only 650 calories, which I think Sarah said was like a week of food or something like that?

I think I said or thought something like that last week about someone else. Also hard water is suspected to cause stomach issues in some people such as acid reflux and constipation, which we have also seen this season. I am leaning toward thinking that the water in this area is particularly hard or has high levels of certain problematic minerals in it and some people's digestive systems can't handle it.

And my second Imaginary Boyfriend leaves the show. Now all I have left is William with his adorable accent and his war against Sassy. Methinks Sassy will win.

Timber is so freakin' annoying. Dub is a survivor. Sarah is hanging in there, but I was shocked that she's in her late 40s...I was sure she was older than that. A hard life on that face. Isaiah is cute but he wants to go home. And he will, very soon I reckon!

That would be great!

One would think they've seen previous shows and would immediately club it or cut its spinal cord.  Boom!  Done!

Jake had all sorts of trouble.  No food, burning his hand then cracking his tailbone.  I've hurt mine, pain lasts forever.

Also surprised Isaiah is still in.  Sounds serious, or is he faking some to get a med tap.

I think some of them are so distracted by trying to get the fish on video that they don't do that soon enough. It might be me but I think I'm seeing more participants make a conscious effort to throw the fish away from the water ASAP.

Timber seems to be getting most of the hate this season.  I confess I don't really understand it.  He hasn't gotten on my nerves that I can recall.  Anything specific about him that is turning people off?

He has a certain kind of quirkiness that I think rubs some people the wrong way, plus as was said already his fixation on that moose seemed a little OTT and off-putting. He's not really bothering me that much so far and after hearing him talk about his life history I am giving him some slack anyway.

Just catching up on the threads here.  I'm loving Timber.  By far my favorite because he does the corny stuff and has fun doing it.  That's the way to enjoy yourself and stay away from falling into depressive a state.

He's also with the skillz as well.  He is why I'm sticking with this season.
