So, in addition to time travel and future visions, are we also dealing with parallel worlds/alternate realities ?

Royal remembering that he accidentally shot his dad hunting deer vs. Royal shooting his father to protect Joy, and the rest of of his family (because Levi Sumner was a monster) could just be a memory issue.

But with Perry not killing Trevor and Trevor killing Perry instead, and then Perry throwing the dead version of himself into the hole I don't know what is going on.

This is getting frustrating. All they are doing is creating more questions and giving no answers. If this series gets cancelled, it will be a total waste of time.

Man such a good but abupt ending. So I cant remember if Rhett was in that flash forward to the oil rig Amy Autumn cult but after her warning to Maria about leaving before she's left, I think Rhett is going to hook up with Nia.

I actually love that the show doesn't explain things too much and that it mostly avoids the whole time loop idea and instead seems to imply branched time streams, that sometimes leak through and sometimes don't. Perry doesn't vanish when his past self dies instead of Trevor, and Trevor's not suddenly around in the main "present" timeline, but Joy is in old photograph and her presences in 1886 altered Royal's path to the time hole. I am cool with this because I love Billy and don't really care about Luke and want more absurd all tongue kissing musical numbers in S3.

I also wonder if Autumn really is Amy, CeCe basically said as much she isn't *our* Amy I am not sure even going into the hole means that that Amy is this Autumn. The show is wild and messy trip but i very much enjoy it.

Oddly, I thought this ending gave us a reasonable set of answers. If you enter the river of time you will get knocked around a bit. Rivers have tributaries. Life is weird, man.

if there is another season, it is a beginning.

I was trying to remember the first season. Royal goes into the hole and comes out in the future. CeCe tells him they no longer own the land, which is a mining/factory area; that he died in her arms two years ago. She tells him to run and a mob attacks him. I wonder if this was the time he would have died and if the future will change, since he lived. I wonder if there will be a time gap between season 2 and 3, assuming there is a season 3.

Rebecca going with Amy to the future seemed to be hinted at, but that wasn’t what it was, at all.

This show started well for me, but I now think tptb are making it up as they go along. I mean that even if they know how they want to end it, which I do not believe they do, they do not know how to get there coherently. It feels as if the game plan for now is to keep creating more questions, knowing they will not be able to answer them all before Amazon decides to cancel the series. And this works in the showrunners' favor because they can forever say if we just had one more season.

They better be already filming the next season. And it better have an end point. Example-5 seasons Total. I don’t want another Lost-dragged out to hell just to sell ads and destroying everything I loved about it with new characters, new plot lines that have no real effect on the main story, etc. aka Don’t dick us around.

We just got dicked around!  The show just got canceled!

On a different note, I didn't realize a couple of years had passed between filming S1 and S2.  No wonder Amy looked older and taller in S2.

This show had a lot of promise and was just starting to get interesting when it ended. But the writing was kind of a mess. I honestly don't think there would have been any way for them to come to a satisfying conclusion that made any sense, it's more likely they would have had to come up with something that hit the emotional beats they wanted without ever really explaining anything. In which case, it's probably for the best that it won't be coming back. Because I probably would have stuck with it, for another season at least. And then I would have been pissed.
