It doesn't appear she's actually doing any of the work she needs to do for recovery, otherwise she wouldn't be sleeping with her doctor and then blackmailing him to go back to work. She told Will in the pool she had to go back to work or she was gonna start using again. Will has enough of his own damage to work through without the added burden of Angie's shit as well. Like Cricket told him, he deserves good things. Angie is not one of those good things. I also don't think she cares nearly as much about him as he does about her. It's been shown he's pretty much been in love with her since they met at the group home, but I've never gotten the sense that she feels as deeply about him as he does about her. I'm not even sure if she's capable of the kind of love Will needs. And I sure the fuck don't want him waiting around to find out if she is. Wonder if Cricket was the transition woman to help get Will out of his codependency with Angie and be open to the right woman…as Cricket said, he deserves good things. 3 1 2 Link to comment

Calvada February 23 Share February 23 Note to self: after throwing the deadly bomb in the room and slamming the door, run like hell. Don't stop even for that one second to exchange a meaningful look with someone. I've binged season 1 in the past week. I have a friend who has been very complimentary about this show and urged me to watch it, so I finally did so and have gone through all the comments on all the episodes. I really enjoyed it. I agree with those who say Amanda (Sonja Sohn) is very difficult to understand; I quickly realized I had to turn on the close-captioning. It reminds me of Aidan Quinn in Elementary, or as I called him, Mr. Mumbles. And yes, the accent being adopted by Ramon Rodriguez sounds more New Orleans to me too. He sounds a little bit like Harry Connick, Jr. The music they've used throughout the show has been great. It's added a lot to each episode. 7 2 Link to comment
Acmeproducts February 23 Share February 23 Yes, I think Will sounds like he is from New Orleans. I don’t know why Ramon made that choice. I loved Sonja on The Wire. 1 Link to comment

If the show just HAD to kill her, then they could have done a slow motion shot where she's running, even looking at Will, but then she gets blown up. It was stupid for her to stop. Quote I agree with those who say Amanda (Sonja Sohn) is very difficult to understand; I quickly realized I had to turn on the close-captioning. I almost always have CC on for every show. I probably got into the habit when watching British shows, but even with American ones, either the actors talk very fast or they mumble. 6 Link to comment

Not sure if it's his choice, or the best he could come up with. Not everyone can do spot on accents, no matter how talented they are at acting. I don't mind it, myself, despite the fact that I tend to be highly critical of accents (Scott Bakula's in NCIS New Orleans drove me crazy enough that I couldn't watch - and I love Scott). PS - In regards to Cricket's death. I was watching The Irrational and they killed off a character, and I had the opposite reaction. He was the love interest of the main character's ex, and they had absolutely no chemistry and he was dull even outside the relationship. So I cheered that one. LOL. LOL Marisa Clark on Irrational has the same house as Gabrielle "Gabi" Mosely on Found. When Jace was by the door to the basement, I wondered where all locks went! ========================== I will be so glad when any writer even suggests a “Cartwright Curse” or “fridging” a woman, he is taken out back and soundly whipped. 3 Link to comment
Johannah February 26 Share February 26 (edited) Most stuff has already been discussed, so I just want to say that it seems Will and Faith seem so much more in sync this season. One starts a sentence and the other just says "yeah" or something and off they go. I thought it was great. If they were that attuned to each other last season, I don't remember it. I get that it's a natural progression, but I really liked it. Edited February 26 by Johannah 5 2 Link to comment
snarktini March 19 Share March 19 WHAT WAS THAT, SHOW?! Just rude killing off Cricket like that. On 2/23/2024 at 3:51 PM, Acmeproducts said: Yes, I think Will sounds like he is from New Orleans. I get that her character is intense, but Sonia takes it way too far, IMO. Do they? They sound normal to me! On 2/23/2024 at 10:32 AM, Acmeproducts said: I think that is fitting for Angie. It's totally in character for Angie not to care that her hair looks a mess. She has this cute new cut and still it's a wreck. There was so much commentary on The Diplomat about the lead needing to brush her hair, too, and it's a little extreme but character styling always is. Will wears a dull three piece suit, Faith wears quirky sweater vests, Angie has unwashed bird's nest hair. Each choice is telegraphing something distinct about the character. They've had a lot of fun developing Faith's style as one of contrasts. Everything is very conservative in coverage (collars, high necks, layers), but she plays with eye-catching patterns and details. She pairs grandma knits with corporate button ups crowned by a revolving door of young, creative hair styles. (Where I think they've dropped the ball is making her style SO distinctive, without making the character live up to that vibe. I like Faith fine, but she doesn't seem to be the bold, expressive, creative type her wardrobe would indicate.) 2 Link to comment
LuvMyShows March 23 Share March 23 First, let me say that I really like this show. However, there were some real head-scratchers to me... Don't stop even for that one second to exchange a meaningful look with someone. Yes! And I couldn't figure out what the point of having her do that was, because she's a professional, and regardless of how smitten she was with Will, I just don't think she would have done that. It makes her look less competent at her job. Or was it so that Will would see it, and feel even worse than he already does?! On 2/23/2024 at 5:50 PM, Calvada said: And yes, the accent being adopted by Ramon Rodriguez sounds more New Orleans to me too. Yep, and it has to stop. It adds absolutely nothing to the show, and detracts from it. And I can't figure out why they're doing it. I don't think they've said he's a native Georgian, and none of the other characters have some type of Georgia accent, so why on earth does Will need one? On 2/22/2024 at 2:34 PM, Clanstarling said: As for Ormwood, whatever he was in the past, that scene with his wife was really moving on both parts - well acted. I actually had a lot of problems with that scene. From what we've seen about Ormewood, who went to the lengths to put a tracking device on his wife's car, and who had heard talk about how much time his wife spends over at that guy's house, he would never have been that quickly dissuaded of his suspicions about her cheating, just because he solved the mystery of the hour of air conditioning. Yes he was relieved that one aspect of his concerns proved mistaken, but he is a detective and knew that his spidey sense about the other aspects was still outstanding, so I don't think he would have had that relieved and sheepish aspect to his explanation. And I don't for a second believe he would have told her about his thought process right there in the middle of the police station, nor do I believe that she would have immediately caved, and confessed right there on the spot. On 2/22/2024 at 2:53 PM, DearEvette said: Super bummed about Cricket. I liked her no-nonsense manner and sense of humor. It would have been really fun seeing how she and Will might have meshed. Oh well. On 2/22/2024 at 2:34 PM, Clanstarling said: She was so great, and they had amazing chemistry - not tortured soul chemistry. I really liked the character of Cricket and would have enjoyed seeing what could develop between them, but in spite of the good vibe each character had separately and how they played off one another sequentially, I didn't see any actual chemistry together. 1 Link to comment
Simba122504 April 2 Share April 2 (edited) Of course, Cricket would be awesome, and Will cannot have her. Will, you can do everything right and life just gives you shit. I know the books are dark, but I cannot watch an awesome character become the lead in his trauma porn every season. No one could stay sane. You would definitely have a breakdown and fall into that dark hole. Good season premiere. Edited April 2 by Simba122504 Word change 1 Link to comment
