I think Tristan's screw up days ended before the war. Volunteering (especially when he didn't have to at all) was the final step in his transformation. We're not seeing him during the war, but in my mind he's a scrounger like Hendley (the James Garner character in The Great Escape) and he's using his charm to make deals and get impossible things, so maybe he's more like Charles Madison (the James Garner character in The Americanization of Emily, with a bit of Radar or Klinger from M*A*S*H. I'm not sure which.) 2 Link to comment

AnimeMania September 6 Share September 6 All Creatures Great and Small Season 5 Jan. 12, 2025 PBS Masterpiece Six episodes plus a Christmas Special. It is Spring 1941 and we return to Darrowby to find young baby Jimmy keeping everyone in Skeldale House on their toes, Helen is getting the hang of motherhood with James away at RAF Abingdon, Mrs. Hall and Siegfried are enjoying having a little one around and Carmody is now a full-fledged member of the Skeldale family. “With World War II now fully underway, Siegfried is taking up the slack at the surgery, Mrs. Hall and Helen are considering their contribution within the community, and Carmody is eager to step up. Siegfried is keen to have everyone back, but Tristan’s surprise return won’t be quite as straightforward as he hoped. 1 2 Link to comment
Llywela September 7 Share September 7 For the record, the new season starts 19 September in the UK, so there may be posts about new episodes popping up after that date for overseas viewers to be wary of. I've seen posters all over the place, Channel 4 are really pushing their upcoming new seasons for a few shows, this one included. 1 1 Link to comment

There will likely be a Season 5 thread so it can be easily avoided for US folks except when it actually debuts here. Given it’s about to start though, it’s probably time to create the thread 2 1 Link to comment

JudyObscure November 14 Share November 14 I once was watching Timothy West in a scene from, "Bleak House," when my son walked in and almost started crying even though he knew nothing about the story. That's some powerful acting! 1 Link to comment
