Wake up! Peacock just posted the first 7 minutes of #TheTraitorsUS Season 3. Highlights include:
-Carolyn freaking out upon meeting Tony and Jeremy
-Gabby refusing to acknowledge Sandoval
-Danielle emotionally forgiving Britney for what happened in Reindeer Games
-An opening twist where one player can choose to bring Boston Rob into the game, replacing someone else

Also, why are Danielle and Brittany being so dramatic about what happened on fucking BB Reindeer Games? I hope they're acting because otherwise it's embarrassing.

That reminds me that I kinda hate that they do all reality people since it just means everyone is basically just acting. I mean, I guess as long as their acting entertains me it's fine lol.

Not only are the contestants not allowed to sleep in the castle, but they also have a limited number of spaces they can explore in the rented-out space. For season 2, the creators added the "scullery," which is like a kitchen and then the "folley," which is an outdoor, stone-covered area, for the Traitors and Faithfuls to convene in.

If given the chance, Cumming would love to play a traitor himself. That said, after hearing a traitor's rationale later this season, "I would never have thought of any of (that). I wouldn't have had a clue, and I would have just sort of gone with my gut." That's how he approaches his work, too.

This season feels even different from the last two seasons. What stands out to you about this one?
I think partly because the second season was so successful, there was a pressure to not just repeat ourselves, it actually upped the ante. When you do a show like this, the first season nobody knows what's going to happen. It's virgin territory. And then, of course, people watch it. So it's a question of pulling the rug from under them and keeping it fresh and having these twists and surprises. Even with my costumes and everything, we upped the ante on that. I just think it was a combination of all these things. And the production value is so great. It looks so amazing. It's shot so well. And I think that it really hit its stride in a way, in this season. And it is bigger. I'm sort of a cult leader. I have my followers. I didn't have followers in the other seasons. So now I've gone from just like a dandy, lord of the manor in his castle, to official cult leader. I'm fine with it. So yes, everything has been upped a bit. And the contestants bring their energy and their backstories, and so that makes it a whole new thing as well. I love the fact of how each season is so different to the one before, even though, structurally, it has a similarity. The ending to this one is not like anything we've seen in the previous two seasons. There's bits in it that are so intense and brutal. I've said this before, but I actually thought I was going to have to break up a fight at round table one time. It was really terrifying. I don't break up many fights.

Every season it seems like the Housewives are always the one people focus on. Does that stand out to you? Why do you think that is?
I guess because they have a kind of collective personality, already established before you come into it. When you see a Housewife, you know exactly what that means. They're probably going to be ladies of a certain age, have quite a glamorous look, there may have been some surgery or some augmentation to their faces along the way, and also they understand how to make some drama out of lunch. But also, I really think they have a persecution complex, because they are always [saying], "They're always coming after the Housewives. It's a thing against the Housewives." Maybe sometimes, there's so many of [them] that maybe that's what it feels like, or they just maybe feel a little persecuted, just in general. But I love the way they gather as a pack and have this loyalty, sort of like the mafia, unspoken Housewives loyalty. It makes me laugh. And then, of course, it's actually really good to have a group like that within this game, because their blind loyalty and unflinching devotion to each other is, of course, great, because if one of them is a traitor, then it's more devastating, they've broken the mafia bond. They are hilarious, and I love it when they do well, because everybody has this sort of myth that you have to be in one of those gamer shows to do well at this game and it's not true. Sometimes it's actually good to have better social skills. And they also understand the drama of bringing a glass of wine around.

How do decide who's going to be a traitor?
At the start of the show they have some ideas about who they think would be good traitors. But the real thing that clinches it [is] when I do those interviews, the sort of fireside chats with the big pile of gold in front of them, and Lala, my dog in a little basket beside me. That's when we really make up our minds, because I ask them certain questions. It goes on for a long, long time. I've got 21 people, but you understand some of them are too thirsty, some of them want it too much, and then others are a bit tentative, and so you work out who would be good and also what would be a good combo. It's much more about the combo of people, because most people want to be a traitor, but it's about what is the combo of these personalities in the turret each night, because the denouement of each episode is what is happening there. So it's great to have some drama amongst them, as well as them being ruthless and brutal. Because just the very fact of being a traitor, you have to assume a role of being ruthless and brutal. This year was tremendous. There's so much drama, so much drama.

And then we took out Ethan, and he really didn't trust me. And I'm like, “Yo, it wasn't a shot at you. It was to get Ethan out of there so we could work together.” And he never wanted to work with me going into Traitors. I didn't think that we were going to be on the same page because we left it like that. But when he was on, I was like, “All right, well good, we can play together now. Let's go.” And I don't know, we just were never on the same page, me and him.

Boston Rob says hardest thing about The Traitors is the sheer volume of players
The reality TV veteran compares the game to "Deal or No Deal Island" and "Survivor."

Entertainment Weekly spoke to the reality TV veteran in Panama last summer, where he was filming his new Deal or No Deal Island After Show. Rob was also fresh off of filming on The Traitors season 3, so we asked the veteran of both games how they were similar and different. “They're both similar in that there's a challenge or excursion component to the game, there is a social or camp component of the game, and then there is the Temple or the Roundtable,” says Rob. “So they have similar components.”

But that’s apparently where the similarities end. “What's different is how much each of them matter in the different games," he continues. "In Deal or No Deal Island, the excursion part of the game is very important,” explains Rob. “It's where you can get an advantage, where you can get a leg up, and where you can keep yourself safe. In The Traitors, the sole purpose of the challenges is to add money to the pot, which at the end of the day doesn't really have any bearing on whether you're a Traitor or a Faithful or whether you stay.”

Boston Rob also notes that his latest reality adventure is in many ways closer to his first one in terms of the social and strategic elements at play. “Part of the game on Deal or No Deal has an element of luck and risk in it that is different from any other game that we play. There's also a mathematical part of it that you have to understand how to play correctly or optimally. On The Traitors, with the Roundtable, it's a lot closer to what a Survivor Tribal Council is, where you have to think about what you say, how you say it, listen to what other people are saying and be able to take in that information and put the pieces of the puzzle together and figure it out. The social parts of the games are similar on both shows. The alliances don't matter as much on Deal or No Deal Island, but on The Traitors, you really don't know.”

When it comes to what separates his new show the most from the previous two, Boston Rob says it is a matter of volume. “The main thing that's different from Traitors than Deal or No Deal Island, and Survivor for that matter, is the sheer number of people involved. Even on Survivor, even if it's a season where there's 20 people, they're split into two camps, so you’ve got to manage 10 people. On Traitors, there's 22 people. I mean, just trying to talk to that amount of people in the amount of time that you have before you go to the Roundtable or challenge or anything — it's almost impossible. And it's definitely impossible to have a one-on-one conversation with anyone.”
