ottoDbusdriver November 6, 2022 Share November 6, 2022 Zeke finally gets Cal to go a doctor only to find out that Cal's cancer might be back. There may be an 828 serial killer after two 828ers are murdered in 24 hours. Eden may have had a calling -- and Ben is headed off to investigate based on 4 letters drawn by a 2 year-old. Turns out that one of the dead 828ers was harboring Angelina and Eden for a while. Same as the 2nd dead 828er Anna Ross. Would they really let a prospective client wander around an assisted living facility unescorted ? Seriously ? Nevertheless, Ben finds a dozen former 828ers in wheelchairs in a secured room. Kudos for the Modern English karaoke by Cal and his 828 date, Violet, singing "I'll Melt with You". And Cal gets his first kiss. And second kiss. And third kiss. Saanvi has a calling while examining the 828ers medical records, though it leads her to conclude that the catatonic 828ers are in touch with the God frequency ?? Which will allow a direct line to the divine consciousness. Sure, why not ? And then a 3rd 828er is murdered who just happens to be Cal's date, Violet. So, of course, Cal is accused of murder and told to run by Jared. They had better hurry things along -- there are only 3 episodes left. 1 Link to comment
cdnalor November 6, 2022 Share November 6, 2022 (edited) Isn't Cal still a kid in an aged-up body like Tom Hanks in "Big"? Maybe he shouldn't be going on dates with a grown woman. Of course, we don't know what really happened after he disappeared, so maybe he grew up normally before he came back. Edited November 6, 2022 by cdnalor 1 Link to comment
CCTC November 6, 2022 Share November 6, 2022 Yes - there was a little Big ickiness to it -- but they at least kept it pretty innocent as if it was a fairly chaste high school date (including music that played when I was in high school). If I remember correctly, Tom Hanks actually had sex with the woman in the movie. Creepiness factor aside, it was nice to Cal have fun and the actor did a good job of capturing the magic of the first date - first kiss etc. I really liked the actress who played Violet, but I knew once she mentioned she sheltered Angelina that she might not make it out of the episode. 1 Link to comment

I think with the different time jumps he is like 15-16? So it is a bit icky, but it's not like he is still 12. And sadly for Cal there is no great solution, because someone in a 21-year-old body dating a 15-year-old girl is also icky. 1 Link to comment
Camera One November 12, 2022 Share November 12, 2022 (edited) I liked this episode. It seems like momentum is building back up. I was a bit wary at the start of the episode with all the secrets and lies. I appreciate that the show is making use of its final season to bring back old characters and connect things back to previous seasons. The Saanvi flashbacks worked better than Jared's last week. I don't know if she had more of them, or they were just meatier than Jared's. Did Zeke know Alex, Saanvi's ex? Anyway, it was a nice way to use someone from the past. I was happy that Zeke recognized he could not take the pills and he went to AA. Poor Cal. His dad rejects him, he might be dying of cancer and he has a nice first date and then she's murdered. I was happy she was saved at the compound, so it's sad that she was killed off. So Angelina had multiple 828-ers helping her. But Violet didn't know she was Angelina? The first guy helping her made sense since he was apparently too kind and helped anyone. Up until this episode, I totally forgot that Cal had cancer in Season 1. Why did Eden suddenly accept Ben as her dad? She was way too young when she was kidnapped to remember, wasn't she? It was kind of cute when she put the nametag on the stuffed animal, though. I'm glad Ben is finally back on Team Callings. The scene in the hospital with Marco was good. So I am assuming that Angelina didn't fall from far the tree and mommy dearest is killing anyone who helped Angelina? Michaela should never have rescued the psycho back in the Season 3 premiere. I am kind of under the impression that through the 828 magical connections - Eden always had some sort of connection to her Dad which is why they had shared callings and he connected to her drawings, so I can kind of see how she would reconnect with him after spending some time with him. It probably was too quick and abrupt of a pivot though. I would have loved to see Violet stick around for a while. 8 hours ago, Camera One said: So I am assuming that Angelina didn't fall from far the tree and mommy dearest is killing anyone who helped Angelina? I am guessing no, but wonder if the show will address why the callings directed Micheala to bring such a destructive character into their lives. 1 Link to comment

I would love if the final twist is that the callings are evil and all the passengers have failed some test by spending 4 seasons following them. 2 5 Link to comment

With Eden getting memory flashes of Ben and Grace before she was kidnapped or something. 2 Link to comment

Meh, then there's still the back half 10 of this "season," air date still TBD. So why not call it 2 seasons unless they planned a cliffhanger, right? 1 1 Link to comment

Yes, back in S2 when Saanvi was testing experimental medications on herself trying to save Zeke, she became manic and needed medical attention, but she didn't want to go to a doctor for fear she'd be reported for illegal experimenting and lose her job and lab. Alex was the only doctor she trusted, so Zeke went and convinced Alex to come treat Saanvi. That's how Zeke and Alex met. 1 1 Link to comment
roamyn April 8 Share April 8 It’s ridiculous how much the writer’s are messing up the 828ers lives and just throwing one barrier aft another to their peace and happiness. Cal’s date with Violet was the best part of this episode, that and Zeke not going for another drink or taking Cal’s pills then going to an NA meeting. Oh and Eden calling Ben, “Daddy”. Otherwise we hated it. Hubby is over this show, and I almost am, but will continue to watch just to see how they wrap it up. 1 Link to comment
