Tachi Rocinante March 15, 2022 Share March 15, 2022 That was a pathetic end to a clusterfuck of a "season". I realize the one guy getting hurt probably threw a major monkey wrench into their whole schedule, but still. And for the love of God, someone please stop feeding mounds of cocaine to Terry. I liked the Cirque du Soleil alumni's act. 2 Link to comment

Ok we have our 5 golden buzzers and now a group of people that we'll never show or verify even exist put in only two from the list of pretty much everyone we saw that wasn't a bad act plant. Great there are the finalists! No wait, now we are going to pick the top 4, because why not. Again back to the invisible super fans. Woo there are your top 4, but only 2 get to perform in the final. Back to the super fans who already voted or something. Great, down to 2, both of which were golden buzzers. Sure glad those super fans helped. Now I'm happy for the two. One is a feel good story and the other is an AGT staple with a crazy good, full fledged extreme act. Hmm, I wonder who is going to win. Yay we have a winner. Let's get a reaction from them on their win....wait nope...Let's just cut to credits. 2 1 Link to comment
Mr. Sparkle March 15, 2022 Share March 15, 2022 Lol, that "superfans" crap they pull is the biggest load of crap on this big load of crap show. "Superfans" is Olde English for "our producers." 3 Link to comment
Vermicious Knid March 16, 2022 Share March 16, 2022 Yeah, who are these 'superfans'? If they do this again and stick with the format they should expand the finalists to three, the two picked by the superfans and a judge's choice. The winner isn't bad, but the Globe of Death is pretty standard as far as danger acts go. There's one at every circus. It's such a staple it even featured in an episode of Midsomer Murders. I would have liked something more original. 1 Link to comment
Mr. Sparkle March 16, 2022 Share March 16, 2022 Ok, I just finished watching this, largely on fast-forward. I want you all to know that I took 3 classes of college-level calculus, differential equations and linear algebra. If you can explain to me the math behind the superfans and who made it to the finals, you're a genius. Did the golden buzzer mean anything? Did actually getting put through mean anything? I think only 2 acts in the whole series didn't go through. I'm actually glad that Wheelz didn't win, because it would have been pandering, and the motorcycle act was clearly better. I wonder if this had good enough ratings to come back next year; I certainly hope not. 1 Link to comment
Maverick March 16, 2022 Share March 16, 2022 The globe used to be a staple of Circus of the Stars on CBS for goodness sake. I mean it's not easy by any stretch but if you can teach Bobby Ewing to do it, I'm not sure it's a half million dollar act. 1 1 Link to comment

While I certainly could not do this act, I rememeber seeing it at the circus every year when I went. I remember it just being loud. I think some of the high swaying pole acts were more extreme to me Link to comment
Maverick March 16, 2022 Share March 16, 2022 I actually don't think it was Patrick Duffy/Bobby Ewing. I just pulled one of the CBS stars of the era that they liked to pull for these things (Circus of the Stars, Battle of the Network Stars, etc). I do distinctly remember Lorenzo Lamas doing CotS, but I'm not sure it was the Death Globe, but I am certain the Death Globe was featured on that back in the 80s. Link to comment

The finale ended up being the lowest-rated ep (maybe because it was a convoluted sh—show? maaaaybe?) It would definitely be more cost-effective to go back to doing Champions instead - assuming travel has sufficiently opened back up. 1 Link to comment
dmmetler March 19, 2022 Share March 19, 2022 I actually really liked the choreographed construction vehicles. Maybe because it was not a professional circus act. Or maybe because I teach 6 yr olds. 1 Link to comment
Lonesome Rhodes March 20, 2022 Share March 20, 2022 Of all the pointless AGT acts across all platforms and seasons, Fire Yo Yo guy may have taken the cake. All he did was stand there and twirl a container. Can't believe that Piff didn't think of this first. Link to comment
