Sucks about the players injury.  All the best.

Meanwhile, after a nice long break, back to March Madness.  While my real bracket...well, I tore it despite the winner.  The green bracket has been kind to me.  However, I expect about a couple one seeds to fall before the weekend.  Which is the norm most times (assuming they don't fall the weekend before).

What will make that more probable than not is the teams remaining.  No "Cinderella" this time

While the following makes me a hypocrite, I'm not a fan of all the changes either.  So many and in short order.  I'll still hold to how I'd love to see a major change in the NFL (and in MLB) as it relates to franchises within divisions, conferences, and leagues.

Change is inevitable.  Probably no longer worth it to follow a school or even a player.  Maybe for a year, but that's it.

The only thing that doesn't really change is Blue Blood programs making it to End City

Amid the constant criticism toward the selection committee over the past couple of weeks, if not the past several years, I think it's fair enough to "respect" them this time around.  There may have been questions in terms of the one seeds, and while it's fair enough...

...Saturday's Final Four will feature all four top seeds for the second time in 40 years.  At the very least.  Coincidentally enough, the last time that happened, the venue for the National Semis and the Tournament Final took place in San Antonio.  Not only that, the dates on the calendar between 2008 and this season are a match.

Biggest choke jobs of all time:

While it may not be a popular choice, New England losing the game against a very inferior opponent for Super Bowl 42 is the call.  Say what you will against Philadelphia a decade later but along with Super Bowl 48 (albeit on a lesser scale) that was embarrassing for the AFC East powerhouse

My all time favorite. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That epic failure just warms my heart to no end. 73-9 went into the landfill where it belongs. Plus, it put an end to 52 yrs of epic failures from a Cleveland sports team. I know that ESPN was very very sad that night. I'm very certain that ESPN is just as sad last night over Duke's epic choking.

Oh well, I wonder who the next Duke superstar that ESPN is going to hype up next season.

i also enjoyed that immensely. I'm not a Red Sox fan, but I really enjoyed that miracle comeback.

That will always be in the top 3 of all time. The Falcons will never ever be forgiven for that.

I'm not sure what's more depressing: having all 4 regional winners, or the fact that I still would've lost the contest had Auburn taken care of business against Florida.

Speaking of Florida, I thought they were doomed (for the Tournament Final against what should have been Duke) after their upset, which really wasn't one.  They beat the overall top seed, but they were actually favored.  Meanwhile, Duke losing wasn't a shock but the way they did was.  I figured that Houston's defense was legit enough to keep things interesting.  So I thought Houston would win with a sprinkle of fortune within a close game.  Nevertheless they can finally cash; I can see either team getting the job done.  The 1.5 spread in favor of Florida coupled with an over/under of 140.5 sounds right.  124.5 would've been okay too TBH

At least Houston didn't call a timeout in that final sequence.

Still, it was a definitely a very painful way to lose the game.  To be fair, if I was a super-fan, I'd be saddened.  Though to be honest, I'd end up getting over it.  The fact is that Houston was very, very fortunate to even get to the Tournament Final.

Still a great year, but far from the only team that fell victim to a brutal loss in the NCAA Tournament

As a Houstonian who didn’t go to UH, I can tell you that we are all gutted over the team’s loss and how they lost last night.  Coach Sampson and this team — it just felt like it was going to be their year, especially after that Dook (that’s how we spell it in our house) win.  Earlier in the week Coach Kelvin was remembering about how he used to have to beg students to come to the games in the early years.  It was just so great for this very fragmented city to be pretty united, cheering on the Cougars, and everyone wearing red.  And to lead for 99% of the game and lose the way they did…it was just unreal and heartbreaking to watch.

Something I recently found baffling...well there are 2 things, the second one I'll get to later...but this might have been the year to fade the so-called experts.

The entire College Gameday cast finished picked Florida for the win.  That...never happens.  Really.  They all finished in the Top 5 (in terms of so-called celebrity brackets).

Not to bring NFL in the convo here, but after the maximum amount of thought:  I believe this is the first year where both 2-time champions going for the 3-peat lost to the eventual champion in the same TV year.  Kansas City losing to Philadelphia, and Connecticut losing to Florida.  At least the latter looked like the only team that could survive with a chance at victory
