Zonk December 3, 2021 Share December 3, 2021 Everybody's dead, Dave! Still, I don't see how the aliens being dead on this planet is any indication that they are completely extinct. Why stick Smith in the cryotube? Any of the "boys", who are more like young men now, have to use up more oxygen than that tiny woman. Makes no sense. So the robots put out a trap for scarecrow but they don't kill the squishy humans while they have the chance? Why? 1 Link to comment
iMonrey December 5, 2021 Share December 5, 2021 What the hell is Will "documenting" and how stupid is he? Every time he presses one of those buttons there's a mini avalanche all around him. And he just keeps pressing the buttons until he's almost buried alive. 5 Link to comment
shrewd.buddha December 6, 2021 Share December 6, 2021 I was not paying super close attention, but I got the impression that Judy discovered that she was not a planned pregnancy. From the conversations, I inferred that Maureen and bio-dad hooked up during astronaut training -- then Maureen dropped out because she decided to go through with the pregnancy .. without telling bio-dad. Apparently Maureen told Judy another version of the story. Wow. Maureen, you are really racking up all the points for "person who thinks they know best for everyone else". 4 Link to comment
meatball77 December 7, 2021 Share December 7, 2021 That's Maureen's entire personality. Woman who can solve any problem (with science!). Link to comment

Let's now turn to him having been one of the most decorated astronauts in the program while she was a trainee when they hooked up and he was 20 years older than her (at a guess since they look about the same age now and he cryoslept for almost two decades). That's really not a great basis for a relationship. Also, did she start dating John the minute after that rocking chair scene with her and baby Judy? Cause Judy and Penny look like they're only a couple years apart. 2 Link to comment

Yeah, Will is supposed to be a genius and yet somehow he doesn’t know any better than to keep pushing a bunch of buttons—alien buttons, no less—when he has NO IDEA what they’re for. Although I also thought it seemed a bit silly that any of them still even worked. 1 Link to comment
MisterGlass December 30, 2021 Share December 30, 2021 (edited) I think Will believes this is an alien keyboard and the sounds are the letters, and he has some hope of using the sounds to craft a message to the robots. I'm picturing an end scene from Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I was fully expecting Grant Kelly to look about 5 years older than Judy when he got defrosted. He even referred to himself as being in the same class as Maureen in astronaut training. They could have covered him being older by saying that the cryosleep is more like a medical coma, and the astronauts still age in it. However, they then showed a young astronaut in the other cryotube, and Grant doesn't have the mentality of someone who feels 28 but is in an older body. He did mention that he missed ice cream and his mother, which could have supported the latter scenario. However, I think they wanted Judy to have a father-like relationship with him, which would have been difficult with a younger actor or a character who was younger in spirit. They could stick either Vijay or Penny's new boyfriend in it to stop the relationship drama sucking oxygen out of the room. Edited December 30, 2021 by MisterGlass missing words 1 Link to comment

Ah, I wasn't paying too much attention, but was trying to figure out why Smith was one of the few put in tubes. THIS was the reason? I'm amazed at how much Will the actor has grown. Seems like he grew a foot since the last season. He is probably bigger than Smith now, he should have gone in the tube. Link to comment
