thewhiteowl October 17, 2021 Share October 17, 2021 When a Japanese sailor is killed on American soil, evidence links the case to the previous murder of the victim's girlfriend back in Japan. Link to comment
Machiabelly October 19, 2021 Share October 19, 2021 Was anyone else expecting her to be an awesome singer? I was pleasantly surprised that she sucked. 6 Link to comment

Nice trope-breaking. And I hate that peer-pressure crap but since she agreed to come along she must have known she would end up on that stage. So we met the medical examiner, nothing exceptional about her except the remark on auras and that there's a rumor she's psychic. I guess we'll return to that later. The rest was solid and no family drama which was another plus. I could have done without the fugu (another cliché), it was handled as proof of trust but the only person Boone trusted in that scenario was the chef. milkyaqua October 19, 2021 Share October 19, 2021 Yes, to no family drama from either of the team. Decent epi though. Nice to see the youngest child from The Nanny. 3 Link to comment
Grizzly October 19, 2021 Share October 19, 2021 I didn't like how they portrayed the main suspect. I would have used sociopath instead of psychopath as a label but I'm not sure if that even fit. Sometimes she acted like she was on the spectrum and other times she was all SWF with her Japanese roommate. 3 Link to comment
Snazzy Daisy October 19, 2021 Share October 19, 2021 Madeline Zima, the little girl from The Nanny and The Hand That Rocks The Craddle. Great episode!👍🏻 No family drama from both Jane and Kai. Why can’t we have Dr. Noelani Cunha as the medical examiner? Link to comment

Sociopaths are less likely to be able to hold down a job as she did and are more erratic and hot headed. If she was a sociopath she wouldn't have been able to calmly answer questions as she did. 1 Link to comment
blackwing October 20, 2021 Share October 20, 2021 (edited) I thought this was a good episode. I liked how they involved Melius in the case. Even if it was entirely predictable at the end that he would ask Jane out and she would turn him down because of optics. I wonder if they will do this dance all season or if they will get together eventually. It would be one way to keep the actor more involved in the show. I thought that Tori Anderson, the DoD lady who was formerly involved with Lucy, was a main cast member, but I don't think we've seen her for three episodes now? I would like to see them find a way to involve her in the show without any of the extraneous "spurned lover" stuff. I liked the case of the week and I liked seeing Boone work with the Japanese detective. But the roommate lady who was the main suspect... she didn't kill either of the victims, but she was still creepy as hell. Those photos on her Facebook where she did the exact same poses as Yuki? How does anyone look at that and not see someone who was all Single White Female obsessed with Yuki? She needs help. Edited October 20, 2021 by blackwing Link to comment

Presumably the Navy has a much bigger presence in Hawaii than in New Orleans so the Navy provides their own. Especially for a service member, or visiting foreign service member in this case, is found dead. 1 Link to comment
BrianCatDad October 21, 2021 Share October 21, 2021 Did anyone else notice the agents referred to SECNAV as "he"? Was this a slip of the writers? Link to comment

I think the Japanese detective wanted to find out if Boone was capable of trust. If not, he’d realize he was just spinning his wheels. 1 Link to comment
