mxc90 September 13, 2020 Share September 13, 2020 (edited) How many people need to tell us Tariq is "smart" or "bright"? So far, everything is coming up smelling like roses for this asshole. Soon he'll be running Monet's empire, the Weston frat house and he will get Zeke excellent grades. Stanfield holding a vigil for Ghost? I guess Ghost had no other family except the uncle. Tasha shows up in that ridiculous dress. We hardly knew you Frank! Bye! All the Saxe, Davis, courts matters doesn't hold my interest. Edited September 13, 2020 by mxc90 Link to comment
Joimiaroxeu September 13, 2020 Share September 13, 2020 (edited) This show seems to have fallen in love with the terms "kingpin" and "queenpin." I think I've heard those words more in one episode than I have in my entire life. I think Paula, the defense attorney's investigator, sort of resembles Ramona, Ghost's girlfriend from the DNC last season. 50 must like that look. Monet is screwing the cop. Of course. He's a hot piece though. And he seems to be getting tired of being a dirty little secret. Is Professor Carrie working her way into putting a move on Tariq? Ew. Seems like she's already got a lot of unfinished business with Jabari though. Wait, Carrie is a sex addict? OH PLEASE. 😒 Well of course she's going to screw Tariq and then he'll blackmail her into letting him pass his classes. Uh, oh. Monet is suspicious of Tariq. Wait until she finds out who his daddy was. (Does she not watch TV or read any news?) Calling Black people "skidmarks." Never heard that one before. Urban Dictionary doesn't seem to have either. Guess when your rich a$$ family has built two major campus buildings you can create your own racial slurs. 😑 Wow, the widow was certainly dressed to kill, even if she didn't murder Ghost. Tasha could've hit a club afterward in that outfit. 😼 Heh, Tariq was about blow Ghost's rep up at the burial until Ghost's uncle spoke to him. Ghost had almost everybody fooled about who he really was, just like Tariq. I think Detective Blanca is likely not long for this world if she plans to testify for Tasha's defense. Blue Label? Pssht, I'm with Monet. I can buy that at the grocery store. Big whoop. Lawd help me, I think I'm actually enjoying this ridiculous show. Except for the Tariq parts, anyway. luckyroll3 September 13, 2020 Share September 13, 2020 Damn, Uncle Frank didn't even make it to the end of the episode. Aunty MJB and her family didn't waste no time getting rid of a perceived threat. And she incorporated lessons in being a crime boss for each of the kids along the way. That's how a queenpin rolls Tasha. She doesn't wait around to let a motherfucker blackmail her or steamroll her for money. Blanca was not happy. She was shooting daggers at Saxe every time he cut her off so that she couldn't provide context for all his bullshit. Speaking of Saxe... Everyone: "Saxe, this needs to be by the book." Saxe: "I know what those words mean individually, but all together? I'm not quite sure....." 6 Link to comment
AntFTW September 13, 2020 Share September 13, 2020 (edited) This episode is something... 1) I don't get the whole "rich kids wanna sell drugs" thing. Tariq's from Choate wants to sell drugs... again... while being rich. 2) The storyline about teachers on and off relationship. I don't need it. It seems to be such an irrelevant part of the episode. 3) Tariq is taking a supposedly rigorous course to graduate early so that we can get his inheritance so that we can take care of his mother. He's also cheating for someone so that he can stay in school so that he can get his inheritance so that he can take care of his mother. He's willing to sell drugs again to pay for his mother's lawyer. However, he's okay with her snitching on him to save herself. ...so he's willing to do just about anything to take care of his mom (including taking the blame) except confess. 4) Tasha wants Tariq to inherit his portion of Ghost's estate and Tariq also wants his inheritance but they're willing to put all that at risk by admitting Ghost was a drug dealer. Once they admit it, Ghost's estate is gone. The Feds will seize it... meaning that everything they're doing to get it would be for nothing. It seems like they're setting it up where Tasha or Tariq won't admit thee drug dealing aspects but Tasha's getting off because Saxe will fuck up somehow. 5) Tariq's friend from Choate, whose name I do not remember, is annoying. 6) Tariq's supposedly super rigorous class seems like high school rather than college. 7) The memorial/vigil for Ghost... weird. GodsBeloved September 14, 2020 Share September 14, 2020 So that’s how they speak in colleges classes these days? Hell here we come. Will Tariq ever be on time? He’s as arrogant as Ghost was. Not only is he late again but he hasn’t even read the book (again). It’s official. Zoe, I mean Carrie is on my nerve. Why is she having a vigil so Tariq can have a “safe space” 🙄 And did I hear right that she’s a sex addict? Sad because I like ML but I’d be ok with Bobby Brown cancelling Christmas on her. Still liking Cheese playing lawyer. And finally, MJB still can’t act. I didn’t think there was a person alive who was as horrid as 50 cent but oooweee MJB giving him a run for his money. 2 1 Link to comment

Uncle Frank talking about how the daughter filled out or Auntie MJB being ready to pump out her daughter for information. Bobby Brown kill yo mama please. Is this going to be a recurring theme in each episode? I gave him a pass for being late in the first episode since he was at Tasha's bail hearing, but now he's late again? All of this talk about getting him into this honors English class and he can't even be bothered to read the book again? And he's late. I could've done without the ratchet classmate. Was this stunt casting for the Instagram generation? Is she an online celebrity? Ugh, I'm not looking forward to Carrie hooking up with Tariq. I hope the show doesn't go there, but I'm sure they will. On 9/13/2020 at 9:01 PM, GodsBeloved said: I don’t know which was worse. Yeahhh, Monet telling her daughter to honey trap Uncle Frank was disturbing. I'm actually finding MJB believable as a scary queenpin. However, how she's pronouncing Tariq's name is weird. She says Ty-riq. 2 Link to comment

I have a feeling her son is going to give her attitude about her thing with the cop and she’s going to shut that down with quickness. Tasha’s outfit was very inappropriate for a funeral (I loved the hat though). Is Ghost actually dead? We have not seen a body!!!! 1 Link to comment
