  1. Troy was my favorite pairing for Veronica. I'll have to look up the other episodes that Aaron Ashmore was in to see what people have to say. I had more sympathy for him than Veronica, which says more about the actor's charisma than anything else.
  2. I only watch this because Hugh Dancy is in it. If someone else was playing the role, there's no way I would watch it. I wasn't even going to watch the second season, but he drew me back in. I agree that the character of WIll started off boring, but that left plenty of room for growth..
  3. I liked the series, especially all the scenes on the ships. I agree with David that it was wonderful to see a show in broad daylight, and didn't like the night time episodes as well. I think they tried to introduce too many characters for a limited series. I don't know why Billy Bones/ Sir Percival never came back. I thought they didn't want to bring two people back from the dead, and just went with Vane. I would have skipped his whole storyline. Zach McGowan should have stayed on Shameless.
  4. I didn't watch until last night, because I wasn't sure I wanted to watch after last season. In this episode I thought it was the Joffrey and Arya show. I thought the scene between Joffrey and Jamie was the best. Joffrey does know that Jamie is his biological father, doesn't he? He said something to his mom about it before. I think he just wanted everyone to shut up about it, because the Baratheons and Starks knew that he wasn't a Bio Baratheon. Arya killed three men to the Hound's two, although he softened them up for her. Parts I didn't like were Cersy, Dany, Shay. I didn't like that actor on Nashville, so I'm not pleased to see him here.
  5. I thought Ecbert should have the hot tub drained and scrubbed down after Ragnar left. The vikings don't seem quite as much like nazis as they did last year.
  6. Winchester might have been a walled town even back then since it dated from Roman times. Bishop Swithun became a saint, but wasn't around until Ethelwulf became king, and wasn't a martyr either. Anyway, cheers to King Ecbert. His descendants are still reigning, and always have been except for the Canutes and the first four Normans.
  7. It was funny too that the nuns were using Molotov cocktails to repel the invaders. I guess DaVinci left some of his works behind in France after he invented everything in modern warfare.
  8. Good guy Gunnar is my favorite of the younger male characters in the show, but I liked it when he punched Avery.
  9. I was surprised that Chris Carmack did so well in this role. I love the show, but I'm about four episodes behind. Another suicide attempt? What a cliche!
  10. The first season took much long than expected to air even in the UK. I don't know what the reason was for that, but I'm assuming it had something to do with GA's availability, unless it was Jamie Dornan.
  11. Season 1 was fun because Funda was there to curb Spencer in his younger days. Now he seems to be unchecked, with two girlfriends at a time, ready to have sex with anyone Andy might meet, and proclaiming universal infidelity.
  12. Paris is the new basement. I'm glad they're giving Oliver a story, but Ally isn't right for him. What song could they play at the Ren Fair during a Wall Boink with Pam?
  13. Jamie and Lucy Watson's fake romance didn't last. Louise and Rosie got to watch their conversation. Binky is Ranging off road with Spencer, Andy and Alex discussing Jamie. Fran/Cheska are doing yoga and discussing Victoria D'Evil, and Binky and Alex. Victoria to Mark Francis, "I'll stop wearing black when they make a darker color." Lucy meets Andy and Spenny for coffee to discuss Jamie. Spenny tells Jamie that Andy is his new best friend, which makes Jamie jealous. Proudlock has a football. He goes to a gallery with Mark Francis and Rosie. Later, he plays ping pong ball quarters with Jamie. Louise is back with Spenny, with no one to say Shut Up Louise. Mark Francis: As Socrates said, Binky: Speak English though. Mark Francis: Great minds discuss ideas, mediocre minds discuss events, simple minds discuss people. Binky: I love that! If only I could remember it to repeat to other people. The episode ended with a birthday party, where Alex may have been dressed as Mad Jack Mytton. Next time Alex: Stevie's a little bitch.
  14. I like Mandy, even though the actress isn't that good, and I also like Amanda. There are a lot of bi-polar people around. They take medicine and function, but have to be around supportive people who are willing to deal with them. I don't think Ian being bi-polar is that big of a deal. I would like to see Ian in a scene with his bio-dad. My guess would be that the lakefront scene was done for visual effect. Lake Michigan was more frozen this year than in decades or maybe centuries. They probably went out there without intending to do much but look good. I thought it looked great, but it would have been better if Frank had died there.
  15. They could bring Cardinal Mazarin to work 15 years early. David Threlfall?
  16. I hope Peter Capaldi is able to continue when the second series starts filming, or they write around him when he's not available, rather than re-casting. This role is perfect for him. His Richelieu is the only cardinal I've ever seen wearing a black leather yarmulke.
  17. I'm guessing everyone has either seen all the episodes or none. I agree that Anne is great in this series. The actress is stunning, the costumes are great, and the casting was very well done. I also liked that they included some Irish accents since there were many Irish exiles in France.
  18. In this era, I think, the number of years between Anne's pregnancies would have been considered to be evidence either that she was barren or Louis was not interested in doing his duty. Women usually had a pregnancy every year until they wore out or died. They both came from very fertile families. Since Louis had no mistresses, the blame for lack of heirs was probably his. A generation or so later, Jonathan Swift wrote in Gulliver's Travels about seeing the ancestors of the great rulers of his time, who were mostly servants, cardinals, and other assorted non-royals. People must have thought that at the time. I love that kind of accuracy, but their muskets are a little bit too accurate.
  19. The location shooting for this in the Czech Republic is very good compared to Reign, which is more of a joke. I also liked the previous episode with the Irish rebel Gallagher, but I didn't understand if he was supposed to be an O'Neill, or O'Neill (Earl of Tyrone) was the leader of the secret group with the mark of the hand on them. I had a laugh at the Wikipedia page about Dumas' book, which shows a statue of The Musketeers in the town of Condom.
  20. Above is from your last response at TWoP, DCWash. One thing I've been thinking about is how D'Artagnan is usually portrayed as much younger than the Three, but Luke Pasqualino doesn't seem much younger than the others in this version. Also, especially in the finale, King Louis doesn't seem to be as much of a dolt, except that the Queen is pregnant and he doesn't know Aramis is the father. I don't know if they've ever mentioned what year they are supposed to be at. I'm assuming the 1620s to leave them as much room for storylines as possible. France didn't enter the Thirty Years War until 1635, although they supported Sweden for 5 or 6 years before that. That's why I'm thinking it's set in the 1620s. The mention of Prussia in the previous episode was probably anachronistic, since I don't think Brandenburg would have even been called Brandenburg-Prussia yet.
  21. That's funny Dave, because French is Spencer's first language. He may have grown up in an Eden Roc hotel in the Caribbean. Here is Spencer training his mini-me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LM1Pm4SkB5o Okay, how the heck do I make an anchor in the text for the URL?
  22. Proudlock is definitely back for this season, I thought his mini version was spot on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70zodAMSBzE I haven't figured out the coding yet.
  23. I thought Amanda was a female version of Steve for Lip. I hope they're not planning on a pregnancy. I'm very worried about Fiona surviving in prison. I hope Frank never returns home. To be fair, he got that from Carl.
  24. Is Quinn behind the door with her whip? Hello to all from the soon to be late lamented TWOP.
