This episode was kind of boring. Hypocritical Regina is back again. I guess taking the bad side of you doesn't help. Snow needs to become badass again and tell her that if she can forgive Regina, Regina can forgive Zelena. Sigh. Why couldn't Zelena defend herself? She's more powerful than Regina (the EQ doesn't have that "white magic") If we have a meaningful bonding storyline about giving up babies between Snow and Belle, I'll be very, very pleasantly surprised...

I enjoyed that the dynamic of the Emma/Regina episode was about mothering Henry, which is a good thing to bond over, not their "friendship". Regina had a heroic moment tonight when she wanted to sacrifice herself (and it was because of Snowing, that was sweet). The Dragon is probably Lily's father? Finally someone who said splitting wasn't a good idea! Except the "commoner" comment, the EQ advice wasn't bad. Having confidence is a good thing. I see the EQ is back to not blaming Cora at all, since she's taking parenting tips from her. And now she's conflicted about Zelena, so I see some redemption happening with the EQ already. Classic Hook. He figures stuff out, then gets knocked out :P Why do all the show's "great thieves" suck at stealing? Which heroic thing will Rumpel do in the finale to become "a good man" and "family" again after all this crap?

I really enjoyed this episode! It was fun, it had character moments. Yes, Snowing were cheesy and retcon-y, but it was still a fun and cute flashback (tell us what happened to the dog though). The CS scene was cute too, specially when he kissed her hand. Why has GoldenQueen gotten more action than CS? I pulled the same face Hook did when Regina mentioned their chemistry. And Belle, I hope you stick to your guns this time. I loved the Sleeping Curse twist! But I hope it doesn't last that long.

Good character development on Hook, Henry and a little bit Emma. I feel like Liam's actor wasn't very good, unfortunately. Is he going to stay in Storybrooke and not talk to Killian ever again? I was so happy when Nemo was alive though. Finally a scene with Snow and Belle! They're finally changing the usual character combinations. I can't believe the EQ and Rumpel actually kissed....
-
Ugh, why must Hook now keep a secret too? Also, can we see some domestic CS fluff? K thanks. Hopefully since next week is his centric he'll tell the truth. Like the Neal secret that he didn't keep. Although he did keep the lips secret, which were also about Emma's safety. Aladdin and Jasmine were cute. But how about a kiss before you ask him to save Agrabah again? Just kiss! I was glad to see another realm though. EQ and Zelena were boring. It's sad how Regina is manipulating Zelena with her loneliness. And Snow, maybe if you spent time with Emma instead of Regina she'd be comfortable enough to tell you things.

Even though I think Mary's dead was accidental, I like that the villain was a Nice Guy™ I'm glad to see Jasmine (mostly because she's played by Karen!) and Snow having something to do, even if the SL was a bit silly. I'm glad we're getting some normal life in Storybrooke. I liked Rumpel and Belle's scene at the end. They're way past being a good couple, but at least there was some chemistry in their fighting, it had been lacking for seasons. And I'm glad Hook saved the day! The relationship with Belle is cute. Even though it's a bit hyprocritical since I don't like Regina and Snow/Emma but whatever, I just like it.

Really fun episode! I loved seeing Cinderella both in the present and in the flashbacks. More flashbacks like that, please! I was really shocked when Lady Tremaine stabbed Ashley. Not so much when Clorinda revealed she loved the footman, their first scene had Daniel/Regina written all over it :P I love all the Captain Swan development! But most of all, I love that the characters are finally getting tired of so many crises. Whale and Jekyll working together looks like fun. Also, the EQ and Hyde strutting their evil stuff. The only thing that annoyed me is that Snow & Charming seem to care more about Neal than Emma yet again (I know he's a baby and needs them so much more, but it still irks me). Overall, OUAT going back to their old form works. Keep it up, show.

Spoiler Discussion: The apple was poisoned?!
MaiLuna replied to regularlyleaded's topic in Once Upon A Time
I don't know what REC means. And I would love for it to be taken seriously, but some crimes (this one would be murder but Snow and Charming transfering darkness to what they thought was a dragon) have gotten more flack than others. Some happened onscreen and haven't been found out yet, but now they're gonna add new ones instead of dealing with those. Killian killing his own father is worse IMO but that wasn't dealt with. -

So now I'm convinced Hook killed David's father. But if he forgave Regina, he can forgive Hook easily too, right? -__- -
I actually enjoyed this episode even if it was Regina heavy. I like the "Evil Queen"'s plan. I like that they're entwining the Untold Stories with the Evil Queen (we're overcrowded already). The "Evil Queen" flirting with Rumpel feels so wrong. And Henry needs better lines. And the corny speeches need to be better too. But the episode was entertaining and I like where the plot's going. Redemption, adventures. Let's just hope we get a good amount of good episodes before they ruin it.

Give Emma a break 2k16. I'm tired of the walls being knocked down and growing up again. I understand why Emma doesn't want to tell Killian the truth about her dying, but before she didn't know what the vision was. Maybe if she hadn't seen it all she'd have said something at the end of the episode. Anyway, we know Emma won't die. And please let her have sex with Killian. Actually, give all the characters a break. The visitors & the EQ didn't have to arrive right away. They could've had some moments of peace. That scene with Snow & Regina was longer than any Snow/Emma scene ever. At least Regina is in the road to apologizing, it seems. And Snow, Regina IS the Evil Queen. This is as dumb as the storybook plot. Hyde's "menacing" voice is hilarious at times. The "twist" of Morpheus being Rumbelle's child was actually surprising! Overall, I'm glad there wasn't that much focus on Regina, and that there's a storyline for Emma. Let's just see how long it takes to break down her walls AGAIN. I'm thinking Aladdin isn't dead. I loved Naveen Andrews but this Jafar is cool too. Don't ruin him!

I'm rewatching season 4 with my mom and the Snow/Emma relationship is frustrating me again. Emma is supposed to babysit Neal. It's cute that Emma is trying to bond with his brother, but I think bonding with her long lost mother should be the priority. Snow couldn't take one hour hike away from Neal (that name is still weird) but when Emma was going to move back to New York at the end of season 3 the Charmings were like "oh...bummer". Why didn't they try to convince her to stay? Ugh. I know she must feel very disconnected from Emma because she met her when she was already an adult, but at least TRY. Try to get to know her, talk and make up for lost time. /rant over.

S05.E22: Only You / S05.E23: An Untold Story
MaiLuna replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Once Upon A Time
Meh...pretty disappointing after the last 2 season finales that were much more entertaining. Captain Swan. Cute but after a whole season of Dark Ones and Underworld and saying ILY about 5 times, and a wedding dress in between them, and ring giving earlier this season...we get another ILY like last season finale. I enjoy that CS isn't as fast as Ruby Slippers but come on... Regina had some self-awareness which was nice. It was a bit whiny and I didn't like Snow saying they forgive Regina even though she has never apologized (it's been 5 seasons, show, make it happen!) but I guess it's the best we can get on this show. Rumpel chose power again over Belle. When I think Rumbelle couldn't get any worse. Hyde/Jekkyl were interesting and it's nice to get some new stories, but why do they want Storybooke and why not develop all the unfinished stories you already have? Violet is cute. Too good for Henry now. I hope the Dragon isn't dead. The Evil Queen is a fun villain but now we get double Regina. Zelena's "I was fine with running" line was funny. -

I just realized they are throwing a wake for Robin, everyone's supporting Regina but as far as they knew Emma had lost Hook and nobody was doing that much for her. So I think Hook crashed to wake because he wanted one thrown for him too :P -
Really good episode. Very packed, but never a dull moment. The Arthur/Hook team-up and Arthur staying in the Underworld to help things was a very nice surprise. For once they gave Robin an attitude. It would've been nice to see Regina and Robin interact the way the did this episode, I think they actually had a lot of potential but it was ruined with Robin 2.0 and other soap-opera storylines. How depressing that he won't even be able to go to the afterlife. I'm glad they took a moment for Emma to grieve and some moments of her parents consoling her, but since Hook came back I would've liked to see more of Regina's reaction to Robin's death. I guess and hope that'll be next week. Emma kissing Hook all over his face was so darn cute. I'm glad Hades' whispering voice is gone! I could've done with a Zeus/Hades flashback but this episode was very packed as it was and it was really good nonetheless. It was a bit funny how they kept the baby unnamed all this time, just waiting for Robin to die. And even though now Zelena is much better, how squicky that she gets to raise the baby while the raped person dies and leaves his 2 children.

What a good episode. Everyone got screentime. Everything moved the plot, though a bit rushed, still one of the better episodes of the season. The CS goodbye scene was heartbreaking. When he kissed her hand...damn the feels. It's sweet how Hook and Emma doubt it's true love after Zades gets one even though he's still the baddie. I liked the Rumpel and Pan subplot and Henry's too. I just wish they'd set free the souls in the river. Nice flashbacks but they should've been earlier in the timeline. Didn't Emma spend 2 years in Tallahassee after prison? Then she went back to Phoenix and stole again or was just that a long time ago and Cleo was just then cashing in? Weird how Henry didn't come up in the flashbacks since that's another kid given up. Poor Robin. Barely any screentime, must hand his baby to Hades and his rapist, then gets his heart taken (thankfully he got it back). How could Robin's heart work anyway since Emma's didn't work on Hook?
-
It was totally emotional when young Zelena and Regina were separated. I didn't buy the present scenes as much though. Cora seemed to repent, but only about what he did to her daughters. What about all those other people she murdered? I hope she was sorry too! It could've been mentioned. Again, this show seems to give hope...hope to bad people who shed a tear or two. James and David fighting right next to the River of Lost Souls. What a surprising conclusion when James fell over the edge! -__- I liked the ending with Pan! And next week looks good. It seems the mid-season dull is over!
-
They could have done a better job at it even in just one episode. Everyone liked Snow Falls and Skin Deep. Skin Deep set up Rumbelle in just one episode, but they had quite a lot of screentime and a lot of time passed in between them. The problem with R/D was that they spent what? Two hours together? They could have made it seem like they spent a few days together.
-
So..what more of a waste The Bear King is now. We cared and knew about Mulan and Red as individual characters, they had a meet cute (which was also shown in the previously section), they'd had quite a bit of screentime together and the audience like them both. I know this is based of fairytales, but TLK after 3 scenes? "I couldn't lose you after spending 15 minutes with you". Mulan and Red had much better chemistry in that one scene they shared. And it would've been badass to have an interracial lesbian couple. Ruby was pretty cute in love but I don't see what she saw in Dorothy. Maybe this will give Mulan hope and she'll go have a polyamorous relationship with Phillip and Aurora (I know it's this show, but let me dream!). This felt totally like a token LGBT pairing. Nice job at writing off Emilie and Ginny. It's funny that Robin is still in the woods with a newborn baby. Where do they sleep, how does he feed her? Maybe Regina left him some magic formula. Now I really need for them to save the souls in the river. Milah, Gaston, Auntie Em. If not it would be too depressing. Zelena was changing and now she's with Hades for all the wrong reasons. But I'm sure she'll come around in the end. And I'm sure Rumpel will wake Belle up. That TLK is so much worse than rushed R/D. Two TLKs and none for CS. I don't care, they're the best couple anyway :P

Magic, Enchantments, and Curses: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo
MaiLuna replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Once Upon A Time
Any ideas on why Zelena's magic isn't working in the Underworld? Regina had some trouble but her magic has always been tied to her confidence, as it has been shown throughout the show. Zelena has magic since birth and she's quite powerful so I don't know why it wouldn't work. Rumpel's and Emma's work fine. Is Hades behind it? -
I was kinda understanding Belle until the last scene. Throwing Gaston over was totally a mistake, but then she just hugs Rumpel and gives him the dagger back? WTH. This character makes no sense any more. And Gaston died trying to save Belle the first time, that could've been mentioned too. And he failed miserably given how she still mentions how she's married to him. And now they're back together? At least Regina is still being likeable. I liked the B plot of her, Emma, Snow and Hook. I liked delving into Emma's issues, but I'm just never gonna be satsfied with the Emma/Snow relationship. I need more. How could Emma not feel guilty when her mom said last episode "when will we go home, Emma?". I'm happy Snow put Emma first this time but it bothers me that it seems she loves Neal more, since she's fighting so hard to get back to him but in the missing year she didn't even mention missing Emma. I had forgotten Ruby was in this episode, nice ending there. But next episode looks like quite a filler.

Ok, this was definitely a weird episode, but good. I sympathized with Zelena. I found Hades/Zelena cute? That scene with the bike was more romantic than any of the OQ scenes and I thought the actors really sold it in the last scene. I wish Snow & Charming would've focused more on the time they lost with Emma. It was a good time to do it but they just smiled at her. I really felt for Zelena when she was giving up nameless Pistachio. That's the kind of emotion I want to see from the Charmings towards Emma (like in the pilot). You lost 28 years! That's sad as heck. Cry, don't just smile for once! Rumpel was so truthful to Belle, it was weird. Wise up for once, Belle! You're like the classic smart person that gets dumb when in love :P Or just admit that you love DO Rumpel. Regina is still being likeable 4 episodes in? I may now believe in real magic.

This was a weird episode. My expectations were high I guess. I love Hook but the flashback wasn't very exciting. I mean, I liked that they showed he had captain abilities, but Liam wasn't a very sympathetic character. He should've had a better reason to sell souls or not like Emma. I didn't like that Hook didn't believe Emma. It's like Neal and Tamara again. They should've at least make the bond between the brothers look stronger. It's like we're supposed to see it because they say it is. They did a better job at that on 3.05. I liked Hook and Emma's first scene, very real; but the reunion at the end was kind of underwhelming. I actually liked Henry's plotline. And David's as well though I could've used a little less kissing with Cruella. Regina is still being likeable? Can she stay in the Underworld forever? I like Hades as a villain but that last line was weird said outloud. That actually would've been funny as heck, but stupid in the long run so maybe just have it as an extra on the DVD :P
