  1. Here's my take on it--Craig is probably douchey, manipulative, and insecure enough to have looked at both Delaware accents, and chose the "cool" one to use on the show. He is smart, and hyper-aware that, if Jenna was last up on the chopping block, he probably made it through by the skin on his teeth. If he perceives that Southern Charm is looking for a typical, frat, University of Delaware, monotone guy, he will be that. It's subtle, but I bet if Bravo told Craig to jump, his response would be, "How, like, high...maaan?"*None of this should be construed to convey that I dislike Craig any more than I dislike someone like Whitney. Some of the shadiest people are the most interesting.* And I think Craig's boss should have probably looked into letting him come into work at 3 pm if it was true that he could get all of his work done. He's not a lawyer, so there are no 9 am hearings he'd have to attend. The boss would have to give him the time off if he were studying for the bar, so now that he's not taking the bar right away, there should be room for negotiation. I'm a lawyer, and there is so much technology that didn't exist even 10 years ago that allows lawyers to work for a firm, but to work from home, and the client has no idea that lawyer isn't billing from an office. Maybe Craig could work from home, in his PJs, sipping on mimosas from like noon to three. I even know of a few firms here in Florida where the lawyer works in one state, and all of his support staff work in a different state. It's shady (not illegal) but...Craig is shady. And I am willing to bet the law firm that keeps him on staff for two seasons now, flashing their big white sign at every juncture, might have a bit of shade to it. All I'm advocating is to give the kid a break if it's not going to hurt the bottom line. It might be a pain in the ass to accommodate him, but some of these young, innovative types, which may include Craig, can be very key in developing a firm. It might be like throwing out the baby with the bath water to insist that Craig conform to a rigid standard if he is indeed hard-working and talented, his only problem being that he doesn't conform to normal business hours. If he's just lazy and looking for special treatment, then his boss should tell him to report to work promptly at 7:30 am each morning. I get the feeling that Craig is going to be one of those people who reinvents himself every ten years of his adult life.
  2. This reminds me of Kim's obsessive and dramatic reaction to Lisa V in Paris, S3, when Lisa dared to ask if Kim had taken a pill--you know, when Kim had been, and was currently, "sober." How DARE Lisa ask if Kim had taken a pill. Didn't Lisa know that if Kim had taken a pill, it would mean she wasn't sober, and if Kim's kids heard someone question her sobriety, it would devastate, and may actually kill them? Two seasons later...Kim took a pill. And all the rules about her "sobriety" change. Once again, how DARE Lisa (Rinna this time), ask Kim if she'd taken a pill? A pill doesn't mean she'd lost her sobriety; she was IN PAIN.Ahem, Kathy. Do not like her. Do not need her on my screen. She's homely and doesn't seem to have anything to want to contribute. If I went the rest of my life without seeing her kids again, either, I would be ok. Eileen is just so full of awesome. I hope she brings it at the reunion the way she's been bringing it to the show for about the last 1/3 of the season, including this episode. No one will try to engage her, because they can't.
  3. I'm actually more...offended (think that's the word I'm going for) by Kandi's ignorance as to where Manila is located than Porsha's lack of awareness regarding the Underground Railroad. With the latter, Porsha accepted her mistake, and was totally open to receiving an accurate definition from the other women. But Kandi was just so casual about her lack of knowledge about something that one is generally expected to know before leaving high school. When Kandi was informed that Manila is in the Philippines, she not only shrugged it off, but she shrugged it off with this attitude that seemed to say, "Why should I be bothered by knowing something cultural, even if it's only the location of a major Asian capital? It doesn't help me in my day-to-day life." My area of weakness is arithmetic. If only given a split second to think, I might say that 44 + 66 = 100. But if I said it out loud, and people heard me, I'd have the decency to make some fun of myself, state that I couldn't believe how silly that was, and allow others to tease me, to an extent. In other words, I think it's much more attractive to be a "Claudia" rather than a "Kandi" about a mistake. I do think that part of the problem is that Kandi is simply provincial, especially when compared to Phaedra or Kenya. Or even Cynthia. But, increasingly, and especially in this past episode, it just seems like she's over it and doesn't feel like playing along. She was reluctant to talk to Dr. Dubious about the issue with Phaedra. Even if there isn't an issue, I feel like she would have expressed more interest in therapy in the past. Then she wouldn't star in, just filmed, the Nene kiss-up video. And called them out to their faces for being lame! I don't disagree with all of the choices Kandi's made in this episode; I just think it's interesting to see her make them. On a positive note, I thought Kandi's multicolored shirt with the lips on it that she wore to billiards with Cynthia and Peter was pretty spot on. And I enjoyed seeing her boutique again; it has some really cute clothes.
  4. Love this! I just wanted to add flames to the fire by adding that Nene has had 'an issue' or two with Porsha. At the Season 5 reunion, she told Andy there is one cast member she feels should not return because said cast member is not being a "real" enough Housewife for Nene's liking. At the time, Nene wouldn't admit the name, though most people speculated it was Porsha. Nene later publicly revealed that she had been referring to Porsha as the Housewife who shouldn't come back, but she simultaneously decreed Porsha fit to be Housewife now that she and Kordell had split for good. Shades of trying to get someone fired for being irrelevant... Last season, Nene got really offended to Porsha's face when Nene "discovered" Porsha had moved into her neighborhood (without Nene's prior, written consent, I guess?) The fight didn't get too hot or last too long, mostly because Porsha towed the party line and Nene was running out of allies, but it taught me that the only way to stay on Nene's good side is to: 1. Treat her like she's your parole officer by clearing every lifestyle decision, big or small, with her and; 2. Allow her to treat you like you're a sex offender, and make sure to get her approval every time you move If Nene and Porsha ever draw up a friend contract, it's going to be weird.
  5. I know I am guilty of missing some lines, and I don't rewind, with Netflix being so punitive about it, but for the love of Pete, can someone explain to me the politics of Heather Dunbar, such that one might consider voting for her? All I've seen resembling a political position is:90% unfettered, seething hatred for everything that is Frank Underwood, personally or professionally 5% "commitment" to raising the minimum wage, with no articulated plan for same 5% "commitment" to closing the gender wage gap, with no articulated plan for same Now I know that when it comes to choosing to agree with a candidate's politics, I may be a little more obsessive than some, as I won't back a candidate without knowing their position on the Export-Import Bank. But do we know anything about Heather Dunbar's political view on, say, foreign policy, diplomacy, foreign aid, globalization, trade, borders, taxes, abortion, the war on drugs, privatization of civic institutions, prison reform, etc? Is the viewer just supposed to extrapolate that she's left-wing on every issue based on the limited bunch of issues on which she has spoken out? I don't think the writers would pen such a two-dimensional character on HoC. As a candidate, it appears Heather Dunbar has been written to alienate the viewer and the voter from Frank. One can doubt how effective she's been, since losing in Iowa, but I can see why Heather Dunbar would cause one to doubt Frank. What I fail to understand is what about the character is compelling enough for anyone to want to vote for her or what has she exhibited politically to cause one to want to support her?
  6. I think Karen acted very tough when she stepped to Natalie at the Drunk Monkey, saying "I'm Karen. Who are you?" And it didn't appear that anyone else was around. Plus, she showed she'll still go for the jugular when there are people around, like she did when they all met at the restaurant on the water. When she jumped up to hit Natalie, I think the LAST thing on her mind was, "oh good, there are a lot of people here who can save me once Natalie gets me in a chokehold."Also, I don't think Natalie has a better face than Karen. I think Karen has a pretty (not gorgeous) face, while I don't think Natalie is pretty. Her eyes are too close together, she's got an overbite, and there is just something off about her bone structure. She's got a better body than Karen, but Karen has lost a lot of weight since this show began, and I bet if she wanted to lose the extra 35 or so pounds she needs to look like Natalie, she would and she could. Some people may prefer slim thick over super-thin {shrugs}. I'm not all Team Karen either. The only one I truly like is Carla. I just despise Natalie because she lies about who she is. I don't doubt that Natalie's tough, but I don't think she's a part of this lifestyle. We now know she has a brother who's a cop. There is no evidence, other than some unnamed cousin who is allegedly in the mob, that she has any mob connections whatsoever. I think that's why she engages in "cop calling" behavior, and then she's truly flummoxed when they call her a rat. At the reunion, when they showed the Tweet that had been sent out to catch the guy who hit London with a box-cutter, I had no idea that this was even the least bit controversial. A normal person would do this. But then I realized this lifestyle involves zero cooperation with the cops. And Natalie is a mainstream person with a temper, not a "Mob Wife" in any sense, and she shouldn't be on this show. Where she really lost me was when she admitted that she was gathering witnesses for a possible protective order on the night that Storm came to the nightclub she was at with London. That's normal-person, civilian behavior, but it creates a huge divide between her and someone like Drita, who'd knock heads and probably go to jail before gathering witnesses. It's just not a good fit. And no gold chain-link dress is going to change that.
  7. What does this racial stuff even mean? If a black man or an Asian man killed Rachel, would that be better for her? Would she somehow be less dead?
  8. Yes, eight Housewives is an all-time high, and a Housewife record, so I'm really excited to see how this is going to go down, especially with six out of the eight being single! (By 'single,' I mean divorced, divorcing, or widowed, but able to date nonetheless). This looks so good that I had to watch the promo twice in a row. I'm a kid at the Disney parade with eight princesses marching toward me...Regarding the number of Housewives in Miami, yes, it's true they had seven wives in S2 (in S3 they went back to having only 5), but seven is less than eight, and seven's been done before. In NYC, they had seven 'Wives in S4. NYC also had seven 'Wives and a Friend by the end of S3 and it didn't feel like eight Housewives, it felt like seven Housewives and a Friend lol. Friends make no difference to the amount of Housewives there are. Friends don't usually have story lines or arcs, and most importantly, they don't get billing. I think Miami had so many Friends because their Housewives, while high in quantity, didn't have many quality story lines (and I say this as someone who likes Miami, and would jump on board for more seasons). I don't think we'll be bored with RHONYC. I think, if anything, it'll be sensory overload with all of these crazy women (including Bethenny--yes!) traipsing around New York City. Basically, what I'm saying is that Friends will come and go, but Housewives are forever (forever in that they have to stay on the show through the season and show up to the reunion to answer for their ish*). *Yes, Adrienne Maloof broke both of these rules as a Housewife, but I'd argue she's the exception, not the rule, and look how retaliatory Bravo got when she did that.
  9. I think bizarre, uber-sharing, Claire-in-a-different-dimension Iowa woman was having thoughts about committing filicide. Matricide is the killing of one's mother, which, who knows, she may be into that too. I don't think thoughts of suffocating one's young child are as dysfunctional as they may seem. When I was in high school, my teacher told our whole class she had those thoughts when her daughter was a baby. At the time she told us this, her daughter was a beautifully developing pre-teen, so maybe that's why the expression of the thought from my teacher and this Iowa woman didn't strike me as shocking, just honest. I understand the show wanted us to see Claire with that woman in order to further themes of marriage and such, but what possible real-life reason could Claire have had to get into that woman's house to talk to her? Like, what would the show have us believe her motives were to take a half hour or so of time away from the campaign, leaving fellow campaigners and the press alone on a cold suburban Iowa lawn so that she can go into a house alone to find out...what? Why someone wouldn't support her husband? Surely she's come across this rare breed once or twice before, no? Did she feel she needed to see it in its natural habitat to understand it?
  10. Why am I not surprised that Mimi-Rose doesn't wear deodorant?
  11. If Stassi really wants to regain her relevance on the show, she should become Jax's girlfriend again. That would be, to quote Jack Donaghy, "well played."
  12. Does anyone have any info as to where the ALDC girls actually have their dance studio? At the beginning of the episode, everyone kept mentioning the "Murrieta Dance School," or "Murrieta Dance Group,"which I could not find on the Internet. What I could find was Murrieta Dance Project, which is the dance group with whom Thalia dances. Their Facebook page says MDP is located in Murrieta, CA, which is NOT in LA, but close to Temecula Wine Country, and about as close to LA as it is San Diego. I thought this was just one more lie the show was attempting to perpetrate on us, possibly because Dance Moms: LA sounds a little flashier than Dance Moms: Riverside County. But if they are renting space at Rage, then they're in LA, albeit deep in the Valley. This makes sense because there is an IHOP right by Rage & when the moms were standing outside, there was an IHOP behind them. If this is the case, why were the Murrieta girls practicing there, and not at the location provided by their Facebook page? Is this just producer shenanigans once again? I think I'm reading too much into it, but if anyone knows, please let me know. I would get such a perverse sense of joy if it was the case that, on top of all of her problems and disappearances and breakdowns, Abby hadn't actually moved to LA after all.
  13. Oh ah-ha, ok, thank you for saving me from what could have possibly been decades of misquoted facts from IMDB. So, if Vail is only about 32, as has been mentioned up thread, I will scale back her creepiness level by half a point in all fairness.
  14. I found Vail to be shady from the jump, for all the reasons stated above, and also because she seemed to be a good 10 years older than the rest of this crew. I finally broke down and checked her work on IMDB, which states that she's been working since 1973, which makes her at least 40 when this show was in production (then again, IMDB says that VPR is a half hour long, and that Scheana is 5'5" and 115 lbs, which is laughable). Not that there is anything wrong with being older per se, but I think it makes it even more pathetic that she's trying to enmesh herself with these people than if she were, say, James's age. I mean, a sit-down with Stassi? Going cross country for a near-stranger's 20-something bachelorette party? Please. People call out Jax all the time for being 35 and still playing this game. Is it my imagination, or did Vail herself even make a remark? So, what's good for the goose...I know this is mostly fiction, but I really think girl friend needs to get some pride, rather than attach her real name to a reality show where she's playing with immature, dysfunctional, developmentally-arrested 20-somethings...and now she's getting sloppy and swapping tales about their bad behavior (see Peter)? Girl, have a seat.
  15. I think the above is about what it boils down to. I was surprised when I read the rule posted up thread--California is much more permissible than states like New York and Florida, where the ethical rule is basically "don't screw your client (unless you had already been screwing him prior to establishing representation)." When I watched the show, I assumed the NY rule applied and I was STILL screaming at my TV screen, "it's not going to get her disbarred!" The Bar has many ways of disciplining its members, and it's not going to disbar someone for sleeping with a client, unless it can be proven that the sexual relationship materially interfered with the client's representation, which has been suggested. I just want to point out that the claim against Delia would likely go nowhere, as the complaining party would be the (soon to be) ex-wife, and not Delia's client. Attorney-client confidentiality would still apply, so the male client would be obliged to reveal nothing, as it related to what he wanted versus what Delia demanded for him. This is a man who is willing to throw away $35 million to be with Delia, after all. I have a feeling he would tell the Cal Bar where to go if they started sniffing around, and then the inquiry into Delia's behavior would come to a dead end. I hate when these shows get the professional rules wrong. It reminds me of The Sopranos, and how badly they botched the rules governing physician-patient confidentiality. It's lazy. And it infantilizes the viewer. If the writers can't come up with an interesting storyline that is in adherence with the professional rules, they need to change the storyline--not the rules. Also, I hate Abby's kids. Bizarrely, they seem to be the same kid, only in different bodies. Whine, break the rules, get negative attention. Wash, rinse, repeat.
  16. N/M lol new to site, think i posted wrongly about media/speculation. Sorry. Hi everyone. Can't wait to discuss Jersey with y'all.
