  1. Music? Spoken word? Both? In other news, Sean Pertwee hints that Doctor Who may have approached him. Would he pop up as a original character? Or would he follow his father Jon in playing the Third Doctor? If you've never seen him (particularly as Alfred Pennyworth in Gotham), there's more than a passing resemblance.

At work. Go to ESPN.com. Phillies have a 1-0 lead on the Mets in the ninth. They get three runs to take the lead. Moron that I am, I leave the window open . . . and the Phillies just walked off with a 6-3 win. I bet Mickey is a nice guy, and I bet he's smarter than most people think, but he has to walk the plank . . . especially if the Mets fuck up on the weekend celebrating the 1969 team

Are the English even interested in baseball these days? Also: how badly did London want the Yankees and Red Sox? i think the NFL usually sends in scrub teams for their regular season visits.
  4. In case you didn't see it on the Media thread, here's my long response. To be fair, I had been meaning to write about TAR with the underdog angle before last week's episode.
  5. I can't talk long because I'm still recovering from the finale of The Amazing Race, and I need to go to bed soon. I read the AV Club review, and it there were eight episodes this season. Then I hit Wikipedia, and it turns out we got nine. Shit, those zoom by too quickly. Watching Team Seamus try to keep a sentient bomb from exploding (shades of Bad Wolf from "The Day Of The Doctor"?) was fun, even though I wasn't paying as much attention.
  6. Looks like Colin & Christie needed at least ten nations to hold them back. Great finale, and not just because we had an all-TAR alumni finale. I mean, that helped a lot. I know, seems snobbish, but I always feel TAR is always up against the world . . . figuratively and literally. A second Big Brother team winning would not have been good, even if Rachel Reilly wasn't involved. And Ramber remains the best Survivor team to ever race, which I'm good with. Also fitting that each team bumped up a notch from their respective prior seasons. Leo's self-destruction was painful to watch, but at least they had a chance to win. At least they have the record for most legs run. Colin & Christie's win was great to watch, even as the tension started leaking out of their ears. Watching Christie try to deal in the car was like seeing her freak in TAR5. "Must drive faster! Because they Yielded us!!!!" But they hung tough. I'm proud of them. Remember the end of TAR11, where Eric got the call from Jeremy after he and Danielle got their undeserved win? I was hoping to hear from Chip & Kim. Or Charla & Mirna. Or any other TAR5 team. Perfect Strangers. That's a deep cut. 👍
  7. I still want to get reactions from Chip & Kim, Charla & Mirna, and/or any other TAR5 teams. See you at TAR32! Which should be soon for once!!!!
  8. At least the Afghanimals have the legs-run record. They should chap Rachel's hide. Corrine & Eliza: They Came, They Couldn't Race, They Didn't Get Paper
  9. Huh. All three teams went up one spot from their respective last seasons.
  10. "DO YOU BELIEVE IN REDEMPTION???!!!?? YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS!!!!!!!"
  11. "Shit! Now we gotta go to Wichita?!?" Oh, snap! Still close!!!!
  12. More annoying music-based task: assembling a drum set while "Seven Nation Army" is sung in a loop? Or having to stay on a bed as "Tiny Bubbles" plays all night? #TheMole #NeverForget
  13. "Can a Seven Nation Army hold back Colin & Christie?!?"
  14. Wouldn't have been surprised if Leo had locked himself in the safe. That had to be painful.
  15. Would've been funny if C&C wound up with Earl, the shoulder-driving cabbie they had in Dallas.

Nothing quite beats the reassurance that if I see the Mets with the lead, watch some stuff, then flip back . . . the lead will be lost completely.
  17. Anyone else getting TAR5 flashbacks? “Must go faster! Because they Yielded us!!”
  18. Colin opens the door, and there's Mirna to kick him in the balls . . .
  19. 7, 24, 24-7=17 Of course, I'm not rappelling with gravity tugging on me, so memorization is easy for me.
  20. Anybody here ever been to Detroit? Does it deserve the bad rap?
  21. Oh no no no no no . . . C&C didn't see the purple boots. Wait . . . they got it. But they're cutting it too close. ETA: ALL-TAR FINAL LEG!!!!! And C&C start a final leg from the back again.
  22. Just saw a tag. Afghanimals finally get over the hump!!!
  23. Somewhere, Linda & Karen are trying to hold back the tears.
