I guess MG was just throwing out a red herring.

Spoilers & Speculation: Running Hot & Cold
tv echo replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Legends Of Tomorrow
Why Ray Palmer? I think the EPs have invested too much time and money in this character to let him go - time spent eating up episodes of Arrow (to set up Ray's back story), and money spent on the Atom suit and special effects. Plus, they probably think that his lack of popularity is solely due to his serving as an obstacle to Oliver & Felicity and that, once he's removed as an obstacle and off on his own show, he will be loved by all fans. From interviews, it sounds like the EPs view BR/Ray as charming, charismatic and non-stalkerish. -
From the MG interview with SuperHeroHype (posted in the Media thread here): Maybe Ray is the one who gets LPed? I still kinda think that the whole Oliver becoming the new Ra's storyline is just a plot device to get Oliver access to the LP - so that he can become an enhanced being, in order to compete more effectively in this new super-powered universe of metahumans and magic. That last sentence sounds like Felicity & Ray will still be together at the start of season 4 and that Felicity may be crossing over to the spin-off next season (I guess, to help launch that new show as well).

The villain always thinks he's the hero - that's a pretty standard trope. In JB's view, Malcolm considers himself a hero (consider his motives) - I guess.
-
All of the Supernatural stars are crushing their competition - Jensen Ackles, Felicia Day, Misha Collins - so I don't think it'll matter in the end. I guess that's what happens when a show has been on the air for 10 years, you build up a formidable fanbase. (You could always alternate votes, if it'll make you feel better ;) ...)

I'm surprised but pleased that SA (50.05%) managed to beat Lana Parilla (49.95%) in round 3 of the Zap2it Social Media Showdown. But it's going to be real tough winning against Jensen Ackles in round 4. You can see the final voting percentages from round 3 here: http://www.zap2it.com/blogs/zap2it_social_media_showdown_2015_vote_for_all_platforms_in_round_3-2015-03 Voting in round 4 has started (SA is already losing a lot to JA). Voting in this round will end at 9:45am ET/6:45am PT on Saturday, March 21st... From the latest video interviews from PaleyFest (posted in the Spoilers thread)... CH: Roy is not done lying to Thea. -- Colton confirmed that Thea now knows that Roy is Arsenal, so what else could he be hiding? PB: We'll see in 3x16 "the effect" the Sara lie had on Quentin's relationship with the Arrow. Coming up, Quentin will cross over to The Flash and "hang out with Detective West." When things start getting "a bit weird, a bit spooky" (with not just superheroes but also supervillains), Quentin can't quite register it, but when he starts to see "a bit of that world, we'll see how he reacts to it." -- It looks like Quentin survives for at least the next few episodes. JB: "Malcolm's always got something up his sleeve." Right now, he's in a transitional place - "he's the troubled hero, he's the villain, he's also the father." Like all the other characters on the show, he's trying to decide "what is our place, what we are here for... Will he become an amalgamation of the three or will he just become one?" He's heartbroken that his daughter has rejected him - for a dad, "that's huge." -- I'm speculating that Malcolm sacrifices himself for Thea in some way by the end of this season. KC: "Through the end of this season, going into next season, we'll see [Laurel] sort of hone in her craft and sort of become a bit more of a superhero and not necessarily just sorta messy." Laurel has this anger inside her and still has this addictive personality, so being the BC is an outlet for her rage and becomes her "main lifeline". In season 2, Sara gave fans a taste of the Canary. and Laurel had to spiral downward so that she could rise back up. -- So it looks like Laurel will be back in Season 4. (It also sounded like Katie was really not happy about the delay in making her the BC but has accepted it.)

How about "ATOM I AM" for 3x21 title? (just kidding)

Spoilers & Speculation: Running Hot & Cold

Maybe Robbie Amell didn't want to commit to a tv series but wanted to concentrate on his movie career (The Duff). -
From MG's PaleyFest interview, it sounds to me like Oliver tells Team Arrow about Ra's offer, the team assumes he rejected the offer, and Oliver makes his decision in 3x16. I think he accepts the offer (my speculative conclusion from MG's cryptic comments). If Oliver becomes the next Ra's, it should be a short-lived tenure. Doesn't whoever defeats Ra's take over the LOA? So Oliver orders the LOA to stop killing. Then, if this were a logical show, a LOA member with years of training would challenge Oliver immediately, Oliver would lose that duel, and this assassin would become the new head of the LOA. (Oliver as Ra's should face a constant string of challenges from LOA members.) I don't like Ray Palmer and I hate to defend him. But the arguments about him relying on the suit to become a superhero (versus Oliver's years of training) remind me of that argument between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark in The Avengers. Tony doesn't have much physical training either and relies on his Iron Man suit and tech to fight (tho' RDJ indisputably has tons more charisma than BR): Steve Rogers: "Big man in a suit of armour. Take that off, what are you?" Tony Stark: "Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist." How's this for wild speculation about the start of season 4 - Oliver is in Nanda Parbat as the new Ra's. Diggle is with ARGUS. Roy is dead. The new Team Arrow is all female - Laurel, Nyssa and Thea as the brawn and Felicity as the brains. (Quentin is their police ally because, duh, Laurel is on the vigilante team.) Eventually Oliver returns, but season 4 tests out a possible BOP type spin-off with Laurel/Nyssa/Thea. After all, Arrow is now the launching pad for new shows in the same universe.

Arrow Stunt Series - Canary / Arsenal Team-Up Posted March 14, 2015 by by Dan Wickline http://www.bleedingcool.com/2015/03/14/arrow-stunt-series-canary-arsenal-team-up/#.VQXV4wKSTkY.twitter

Regarding the spoiler about John and Oliver's relationship being altered forever - I also think that they end up on opposite sides of something having to do with ARGUS. Diggle would side with Lyla and ARGUS. If Oliver becomes the new Ra's, maybe there's an ARGUS vs. LOA conflict coming up. The Ra's prophecy is the stupidest plot contrivance yet. Oliver only survived because Ra's didn't stab him in the heart. You would think that someone as experienced and powerful a fighter as Ra's al Ghul would know how to kill someone effectively and permanently. Hearing the name "Black Canary" should be a somber reminder of the murdered Sara/Canary. So Cisco's lighthearted 'ILY' response is an inappropriate and tasteless reaction. Laurel wouldn't even be the BC if not for Sara's death. I think that since Cisco is the fanboy on his show, the EPs were giving a nod to BC comic book fans. It would've worked better if Cisco had made that comment to an alive Sara/Canary.

I thought EBR's outfit was solid black until I saw this pic (it's actually a checkered pattern)...

Just watched the PaleyFest Arrow panel video - I noticed that the audience applause varied in volume and length as each cast member was introduced (I think JB, EBR, SA and DR got the biggest and longest applause, while the EPs got the shortest applause). If you want to watch a YouTube version (44:53 minutes), here it is... PaleyFest 2015: Arrow - Full Panel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0qc6BO9z1c

Non-spoilery MG info at http://marcguggenheim.tumblr.com/ . Doesn't MG's second response below refute the fan belief that the EPs planned to kill off Sara and replace her with Laurel as the BC from the beginning (or at least from when CL's Sara was first introduced in season 2)?
