I really appreciated all the promotion that Cody Rhodes did in advance of 503. Now he's written a "thank you" facebook post that makes me want him to return to Arrow in the future...

FYI, Craig & Tatiana watch the Arrow episodes unspoiled... Agents of GEEK Podcast Episode 48 Craig Wack & Tatiana Torres 10/20/2016 http://agentsofgeekpodcast.com/wordpress/ -- Craig said that Arrow has gone back to its roots and "found its fun again." However, he also said that this week's episode was "more of the same" in that Oliver doesn't trust his team (again) and needed a speech from Felicity to give him "a swift kick in the ass" to get him to go in the direction he needed to go (again). Tatiana agreed that Arrow has found its way again and enjoyed this episode. -- Tatiana noted that when Felicity is emotional now, it has nothing to do with Oliver but with something related to her own agency. Craig noted that Ragman seems to be the most well-adjusted of the new recruits ("He's very even-tempered" and "such a nice guy") and that, if circumstances were different, he would probably get along with Felicity very well. But as it is, she is so wracked with guilt and he is a daily reminder of her greatest failure. They liked that Felicity told Ragman in this one episode, rather than dragging it out over multiple episodes. Tatiana was surprised that Felicity didn't talk it out with Oliver because they still have a very strong bond. -- Tatiana is very excited to see Quentin act as Deputy Mayor and thinks he'll "thrive" in that role. -- One of Tatiana's favorite parts of this episode: "No one f**king mentioned Laurel." Craig said: "We have officially moved on from Laurel." -- Craig really likes the "possibility" of this new team. He thought the show "took a big risk" this season, but that it was paying off. -- Tatiana blamed Barry for Diggle's problems. They were both glad that Lyla wasn't erased by Barry and that she was still with Diggle. -- Craig pointed out how "meta" a lot of SA-related things were in this episode. Tatiana thought that SA was probably more in control if behind-the-scenes stuff this season.

I read in a recent EW issue that, out of all of the new fall TV shows, Macgyver and Lethal Weapon are being talked about the most online (generating the most social media buzz), while This Is Us and Designated Survivor are getting the most critical acclaim.

Honestly, I'm no longer convinced that Oliver & Felicity will ever become a couple again or that they're endgame in the EPs' eyes. After Laurel was killed, MG said something about how they were never going to reunite her and Oliver as a couple again, even if she had lived, because they told that story in Season 1. I'm now envisioning interviews during next year's SDCC when MG says something like how they felt they had fully explored Oliver & Felicity as a couple in Seasons 3 & 4 and wanted to move past that. Or SA saying something like how Felicity will always be one of Oliver's best friends and how they will always have a close bond, even if they're not romantic. I'm just so discouraged. I originally came to this show for the Green Arrow. I stayed for OTA (Oliver, Diggle, Felicity) and Olicity. Now what?

Green Arrow is #25, Supergirl is #23 and The Flash is #10 on Entertainment Weekly's list of "The 50 Most Powerful Superheroes." (Black Canary, The Atom, Firestorm and Mr. Terrific did not make the list, but Buffy made the list at #11!). A panel of EW's superhero experts rated each superhero in 9 categories: Cultural Impact, Bankability, Design, Modern Relevance, Mythology, Nemeses, Originality, Personality and Powers. They used a 100-point system, with each category allowing up to 10 points to be awarded, with the exception of Cultural Impact which allowed up to 20 points to be awarded. I read this article in EW's print issue, but here's EW's online version... Most Powerful Superheroes ever: EW ranks the Top 50 BY EW STAFF October 14, 2016 http://www.ew.com/article/2016/10/14/superhero-power-index Here is how Green Arrow got its 64.0 total points: 13.8 for Cultural Impact, 6.7 for Bankability, 5.7 for Design, 7.0 for Modern Relevance, 7.3 for Mythology, 6.7 for Nemeses, 6.0 for Originality, 6.3 for Personality, and 4.7 for Powers. ETA: Black Canary was not even mentioned in Green Arrow's write-up. The Flash's write-up listed his "likes" as "Iris West, running," while Green Arrow's write-up listed his "likes" as "Robin Hood, tightfitting leather." For all the superheroes, both the movie/tv shows and comics were considered.

Apparently Flashpoint was originally going to be multiple episodes but then was changed to one episode. Also the Barry/Iris romance will apparently dominate S3 of The Flash (anyone else thinking S3 of Arrow?)... I wonder if The CW's promotion of having 4 superhero shows across 4 straight nights of television has backfired? I mean, maybe some viewers think that the shows are so interconnected now that they have to watch all 4 shows in order to keep up, and they don't want to commit to watching all 4 shows. I was going to say that I wouldn't be surprised if The CW cancels one of its existing superhero shows and replaces it with a new Superman show. It wouldn't happen this season, of course, but the following AK interview seems to leave open the spinoff possibility... Are The Supergirl Producers Planning A Superman Spinoff? Here's the two SA facebook video chats from yesterday... Stephen Amell - I'm Back Published on Oct 17, 2016, by Stephen-Amell™ -- SA: "Hey, Facebook, what is happening? I am back... And, uh, and I'm back. It's Monday." -- SA: "I hope that everyone is enjoying Season 5 of Arrow thus far. I've seen 6 episodes. I'm really, really happy. Uh, this Wednesday, we have Stephen Amell - I needed cheering up Published on Oct 17, 2016, by Stephen-Amell™ -- On whether the new season is going to be as good as S2, SA: "You know, people remember Season 2 like, uh - it's become like that fishing trip where the fish gets progressively bigger every time you tell the story. I rewatched an episode of Season 2 recently, because Arrow is airing every day on TNT - Yes! - It was okay. It was good. I think Season 5, to be truthful here, uh - not that I'm not always - um, I think that Season 5 has the chance to be really special. Can't really tell until you get to the latter half of the year, but, um, our first 8 episodes - I'm not counting the crossover because it's literally - I can't spoil it, but, like, the crossover is like an event. Because it's like the closest thing we'll have to, say, a musical episode of Arrow, um, as opposed to actually having a musical episode because I'll quit the show before that happens. Um, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 - I think have the chance to be really, really special. When I read 509 - and this hadn't happened in awhile - So, um, I hope it is just as good. I hope that people enjoy it. I think we're off to a tremendous start this year. I've been really enjoying people who swore they'd never watch this show again begrudgingly admit they liked the first two episodes. (smiles) That's been fun." -- On whether Constantine will return or whether Roy will return, SA said that he didn't know. -- SA: "Right now we are still filming 509, although I have filmed some stuff for 510. Um, even though technically I am done the crossover in earnest, uh, it won't really be until - kinda like the the end of this week, possibly next week, when I am really officially done." -- On whether 509 was -- On whether there'll be any Green Lantern this season, SA just grimaced an "umm" sound (came off as negative to me). -- SA: "This week's episode is great. Let me tell you something right now, this week's episode -

As noted above by @bijoux, Josh Segarra was in a pic posted by Rick Gonzalez during filming of 504. I also believe that he is in 505 because, during filming of 505, PB said: "There was an interesting scene the other day between myself and Willa and [Josh] Segarra... It was a very interesting scene. About halfway through I realized that everybody's telling lies - everything that everybody was saying to each other was a lie, from the character's point of view. And it was actually a brilliant scene because it was just - the whole thing was a lie. So that's a truth about a scene full of lies. In Season 5." (HVFF-San Jose, Aug. 28, 2016: Video #5 recorded by steven alvarez, page 1 of Season 5 Spoiler Archive thread) There's no indication so far that Segarra is in 506. And we know that 507, titled "Vigilante," introduces the Vigilante, which is the comics alter ego for Adrian Chase. However, there is no indication that viewers will be told who the Vigilante really is in that episode.

Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Ben Sokolowski & Emilio Ortega Aldrich (#503). Original airdate 10/19/2016." (SpoilerTV article, page 45 of Spoilers thread) -- Modified 503 episode synopsis: "WRESTLING STAR CODY RHODES BRINGS THE SMACK DOWN TO STAR CITY —Now that Oliver (Stephen Amell) has his new team, they are ready to hit the streets but Oliver doesn’t feel they are ready. Headstrong Wild Dog (guest star Rick Gonzalez) defies the Green Arrow’s orders and sets out on his own after a new drug dealer, Derek Sampson (guest star Cody Rhodes), who is terrorizing Star City. Sampson proves more powerful than Wild Dog and it is up to the Green Arrow to go head to head with Sampson to save his teammate." (Oct. 2, 2016 ComicBook article, page 45 of Spoilers thread) -- MG's Billy Joel song pick: "503 – A Matter of Trust (since that’s, y’know, the title)." (SpoilerTV article, page 46 of Spoilers thread) -- The villainous Derek Sampson (Cody Rhodes) is a drug dealer pushing a strange narcotic called “stardust,” which is named after the wrestler’s WWE alter ego. (Oct. 17, 2016 CBR article, page 47 of Spoilers thread) -- SA: "Cody is in the present day, actually. And he really embraced the process. This was his first major acting gig outside of sports entertainment and he was on set when he wasn't even supposed to be on set or needed on set. He actually came a couple days early and just hung by the monitors and asked stuff. He's a real pro and I hope that we get a chance to have him back, because he's a really cool addition." (Oct. 3, 2016 TVInsider article, page 45 of Spoilers thread) -- Per SA, Cody Rhodes will appear as a villain in 503: "We're going to fight." (SDCC, Jul. 23, 2016: Nerdophiles video of press roundtable interview with SA, page 40 of Spoilers thread) -- SA said that we can probably expect Cody Rhodes and him to get into another fight in 503. (HVFF-NY, Jul. 2, 2016: TVLine tweet & article, SA tweet, CRhodes tweet, and Video of SA & Cody Rhodes panel, page 39 of Spoilers thread) -- SA: "We fight... One of the reasons I really really like Cody's character is because he is a spin on something that exists in the Berlanti universe but it's very Arrow centric. It's an Arrowverse version of something that we've seen a lot." (SDCC, Jul. 23, 2016: Video of IGN interview with SA, EBR and DR, page 40 of Spoilers thread and page 178 of Starling City Times thread) -- SA: "I will say that Cody Rhodes really reinvigorated me about the joy of being on set because this was his first professional acting job, aside from sports entertainment, which is, you know, theater in some way. But it was his first television job. He showed up early. He spent full days on set behind the monitors, just watching what we were doing, asking questions, trying to be at his best. He was such an honor and a pleasure to have on Arrow. I hope we get to have him back. And I think that everyone is going to love his episode." (HVFF-San Jose, Aug. 28, 2016: Video recorded by swtjazzybellz, page 1 of Season 5 Spoiler Archive thread) -- In response to the question of who he plays, CRhodes: "All I can tell you is, if you were a fan of the SummerSlam action with Stephen and Stardust, then this is almost a continuation - it picks up almost right where that left off. There's an incredible amount of action, and we are not - we're not buddy buddies in the episode. We are indeed adversaries." He also said that it was "a very physical episode" so that he "felt at home with physical storytelling." (Aug. 12, 2016 Straight Shoot: Aubrey Sitterson interview with Cody Rhodes, page 42 of Spoilers thread) -- On defying GA and going after Cody Rhodes' drug dealer character on his own, Rick Gonzalez: "It was not intimidating for Wild Dog, at all. I think Wild Dog looks forward to that. That was so much fun. Working with Cody was awesome! He killed his part. He came in as a pro, knew what he was doing, and new how he wanted to do it. He just had a certain swag and energy about what he wanted to do with his character. I certainly appreciated it, and I know that Stephen and the rest of the crew did, as well. I think it’s awesome that you’ll get to see Wild Dog go up against that type of strength. That’s going to be pretty fun. I think that also speaks to who Wild Dog is, the type of abilities that he has, his skill set, his mental strength, who he deems himself to be, and how strong he thinks he is. I can’t wait for people to see that episode. It’s going to be so much fun." (Oct. 12, 2016 Collider article, page 46 of Spoilers thread) -- SA: "Flashpoint, uh, does affect Season 5 of Arrow. In, um, a subtle way at the beginning and maybe more at the end. And you'll get it - um, episodes 3, 4, 5-ish." (HVFF-San Jose, Aug. 28, 2016: Video of full SA panel, page 1 of Season 5 Spoiler Archive thread) -- MG: “[Diggle] is searching for that moral compass that he lost at the end of season 4... He discovers that Chechnya is the wrong place for him to discover his moral compass. Things do not go according to plan for him, and there’s something that happens in the first three episodes that is fairly significant and it’s the circumstances that will ultimately bring him back to Star City, but he’s not going to be the same. He’s not going to be able to live his life the way he had been living it before. Things are going to get very, very complicated for him, for reasons I don’t want to spoil, but it leads to a very Dig-and-Oliver-centric episode in 504.” (Sep. 30, 2016 Entertainment Weekly article, page 45 of Spoilers thread) -- MG: "In the first five episodes, we face head-on the decision that Felicity made [that led to the destruction of Havenrock]." (Sep. 9, 2016 Entertainment Weekly article, page 43 of Spoilers thread) -- On Havenrock, EBR: "She's carrying this huge amount of guilt, and she's not letting it go in any way. All it's doing is festering up and around episodes 3-5 [of Season 5] we're going to see her break." Also, because of Havenrock, EBR understands that Felicity can no longer be light. (Sep. 1, 2016 NKD Magazine article, page 1129 of Spoiler Discussion thread, and page 467 of Social Media thread) -- Per her IMDB page, Carly Pope is in 503, 505, 506 and 507. (Sunshine post, page 1166 of Spoiler Discussion thread) -- On Jul. 9, 2016, Cody Rhodes tweeted pic of himself wearing a jacket wth the following on its back: "Season 6 ARROW TEAM RHODES 'Destroy Queen'."
