  1. I can't remember if Cory said Mr. Farkle, but I've heard people say things like "Ms. Sarah" before so that wouldn't necessarily make me think that Cory didn't know his last name. But did Cory know that Minkus was Farkle's father? him and Topanga both looked a bit shocked when Minkus walked through the door.
  2. Thanks. I remembered the part about the number of "A's" and general dislike of Minkus. That's one thing that I can't quite figure out about this show (although I haven't seen episode 6 yet, so maybe it's answered there) - who are the nerds or those getting bullied in this show. Topanga was somewhat of a nerd in the original, but she never got bullied. Minkus got bullied. And Cory was bullied (by the "bullies" in the first season) but Shawn never was even though they were best friends. With all the dorky things that come out of Farkle's mouth, I would have thought we'd see him stuffed in a locker by now. Instead, he seems pretty chummy with the male cutie at school (Lucas).
  3. I am really feeling bad for Jana (and JD too). Jana is after seeing a younger sister court, get engaged, get married, get pregnant and now another younger sister was courting and is now engaged. Normally, this probably wouldn't be a big deal, except they are living a lifestyle where people often get married pretty young (how many Bates children are now married??) and it seems like someones worth is based on how many children they had. Jana and JD are seeing younger siblings and friends/peers do all of these things and they're not. I can't help but wonder if this is starting to damage their self esteem. I wonder how many guys have approached Jim Bob about courting Jana and he's turned them down before she even had a chance to meet them. (Who knows, maybe she would have thought one of them was "the one"). I hope that if they want to be courting someone, that they are doing that now.
  4. I just got around to watching this. I really think Farkle looks like Minkus. (although I would like to see the woman that agreed to have a kid with Minkus...) But how did Lucas not know what Farkle's last name was?? They seem like they are good friends and they're in class together. (I laughed when he put his arms in front of Farkle's mouth - which indicated to me they were good friends). I knew everybody's last name in my class. When the show first started I actually thought Farkle was his last name, then I saw his full name online. I need to rewatch some of the early BMW episodes. I don't remember Minkus having a major crush on Topanga or Cory hating in for having a crush or Topanga being negative towards him. How long have Riley and Maya been friends? It seems like Riley doesn't know a lot of Maya's background. My favourite part though was Maya stating about having "little Minki".
  5. Well that didn't take long. They found out after 30 days of marriage?? And that was after she had taken several pregnancy tests already (I guess no one explained to her about the timing of when a woman can get pregnant?)
  6. Jana probably has had that maneuver mastered since she was 8. There are thousands of moms in the world that have never given birth. She's had more experience raising children then Anna has had.
  7. Instead of walking through the open doors he just waved and walked past them as if he was going to stay backstage instead of come out. but then he turned around and came out.
  8. I'm from Canada, but I thought in the US you were allowed to pray in schools, you just couldn't have the teacher/school leading in prayer (ie a teacher can't start the morning off with a prayer but a student could say a prayer a lunch time if they wanted to).
  9. Was Whoopi serious when she said that she has had people come up to her to ask her why she didn't say a prayer before eating? That seems like an extremely odd thing for someone to do (even odder then a group of people praying in a mall).
  10. It sounded like Sherri tried to make that point about the married men also going to Hell, and Sunny seemed to agree as an after thought, but she definitely seemed more angry at the women then the men.
  11. Whoopi did say that she is glad people are praying but she doesn't want to see prayer circles at the mall or people praying over their food. To me, there is a big difference between those to forms of praying. Saying grace before you eat really shouldn't disrupt anyone anymore then having a conversation with your dinner partner would. Having a prayer circle could be disruptive to people depending on how many were there, how big of a circle they were making and where it was located. I've never been to any mall that would have enough room for a group of people to just stop for a while. I will agree with Whoopi and disagree with Sunny about the notion that women who get involved with married men deserve to spend eternity in the sauna. I assume that Whoopi has been the "other woman" at some point since she looked like she was taking personal offense to the statement. The man (or person) who is married is the one who is breaking vow/promises that they made to their spouse. The other woman doesn't "owe" the wife anything. Nor is she breaking some universal sisterhood code (is this in same code book that causes women to be catty towards each other?).
  12. I'm not sure what exactly there responses were, but is it possible that he was a lot worse then those that do drugs because the ones that are doing drugs is directly affecting the game? I would assume that all of types of drugs are prohibited and therefore taking them goes directly against the contract they have signed. As opposed to assaulting someone, where (again, I assume) there is probably nothing in their contracts stating that they CAN'T do that (obviously they shouldn't do that) so therefore they aren't violating a specific rule of the game. Especially since it seems in this case there were no charges filed.
  13. He can't (or at least shouldn't) be able to have it both ways. Either she should get a say in what the child is named (although maybe it's in the surrogacy agreement that a boy will be named after/by him) or he shouldn't be asking for child support.
  14. It's the same reason many women who are abused go back to their husbands if they have the courage to leave him in the first place. Women in these situations may be so psychologically damaged (for lack of a better term) that they may feel that they deserved to be hit, that they did something to provoke, that they only did it because they love them. A lot of abused women (not all) make up reasons as to why their husband/boyfriend/fiance hit them. It gets to a point where women feel like they have no choice but to stay with man and they feel like they have no where else to go. If this is something that the woman grew up seeing, then she may very well believe that that is a how man is supposed to act.
  15. What Sherri is allegdly doing isn't quite the same as abandoning the baby. She is giving up her parental rights to allow the baby to be raised by a man who already loves the baby and wants to raise him. (It's not that much different then a woman giving up her baby for adoption to a family that really wants to love and raise that baby). In this instance, she's giving him to a single father. Abandoning the child implies that there will be no one to raise him as soon as he is born, but that's not the case. Sal as already said that he wants to raise the child (and in fact, doesn't want Sherri to have much to do with him). I'm not saying that I agree with what Sherri has alledly said, but to accuse her of child abandonment, may be a bit harsh.
  16. Jenny said that she got an email stating what was going. I'm still trying to figure out if it's a sleep away camp. I thought she had said it was, but then a couple of weeks ago (after camp had started), Evan had the lemonade stand. Jenny said that Evan told her he was making friends, and made it seem like he had told her that in person. Jeffrey is at the same camp, but because of the age differences they don't get to see each other. Although I thought at the start the boys were supposed to be excited because they were going to camp together. Does anybody know where Evan falls on the autism spectrum? He's very verbal, and is smart (since he figured knew to add a zero to his lemonade stand), and he's apparently quite happy to make friends. But then Jenny said no school would take him because of how he tested.
  17. I read some where that the prenup states that Sherri gets custody of any children that her and Sal have (which is why I assume he's asking for the the prenup to be voided). For Sal to complain that Sherri no longer wants anything to do with the baby after he allegedly stated in court documents that he wants primary custody of the child with Sherri getting little visitation (and for her not to interfere with him taking custody at the time of birth) is making it seem like he is just in it for the money. Either you want her in the child's life or you don't. He's apparently in cahoots with Jeff Sr to make Sherri seem like a terrible mother, so if he really felt like that, he should be glad she apparently doesn't want anything to do with it. You should really only be allowed to file for divorce in the state that you and your spouse consider home. Not file in some other state because you prefer their laws.
  18. This might be true and I have read speculation about that before. In a video clip, the 5 older girls were asked if there was anybody in a courtship, several of the girls looked at Jana. I've read that you can apparently here one of them mutter under her breath "there was"
  19. There was a clip on TLC (it was probably on the show too) that showed an evening where Grandma was in charge of the little ones (probably the younger 8 or so). The kids seemed to like it cos she played 4 square with them and they all seemed to respect her authority. My theory is that she probably does the laundry/stays there/helps out because she doesnt' want to see her grand kids so miserable when they (mostly the older 5 girls) were repsonsible for everything.
  20. If I recall correctly, Rosie made a comment one day that many people interpreted as her calling the American troops terrorists. The next day, she asked Elisabeth if that is how she had interpreted her comment. Elisabeth refused to answer and told Rosie that it wasn't her (Elisabeths) job to "defend Rosie from the Republicans". Rosie also commented that the news media kept stating that Rosie was picking on/being mean to "poor defenseless pregnant Elisabeth". The two started yelling back and forth (poor Joy and Sherri were sitting in between them), and the producers did a split screen so that the viewers could see both co hosts at the same time. (Joy said several times that they should go to commercial, I presume so that the two could cool down a bit). And I think that was the day Rosie quit (apparently she was mad the the producers/Geddie would do something as gimicky as a split screen).
  21. If S.E. Cupps is hired, what will they call her? "S"? "Ms. Cupps?" her actual name? - I don't watch the other thing she's on so I don't know what they refer to her by on a daily basis. (Although I do agree with her on the North body double thing, it's pointless. Can't the kim and kanye body doubles go without a child).
  22. That position is already filled - by Queen Latifah. (who is probably just as funny as Sherri-who wasn't funny on the view anyways-, although I don't think her talk show is as funny as Ellen's).
  23. The little girl wasn't left at home though. She was allowed to go to the playground by herself. She knew where her mother was, and I assume the McDonald's wasn't too far away. How would this be much different then a parent letting their child go to a playground with a few friends? Too put the mother in jail and the child in protective services is ridiculous. It doesn't benefit anybody. All the police/CPS had to do was explain to the mother that it was illegal to let her daughter go to a playground by herself (which is news to me). Now the girl is in the custody of CPS. They have enough children to worry about that come from terrible homes or have no family, this little girl isn't one of them.
  24. Even Meredith as been asked about her opinion on the shake up at the View (and if she'd ever return to the show). It's in US Magazine
