  1. From SyFy's press release (via The Futon Critic):

Syfy's anticipated adventure thriller 12 Monkeys will make its series premiere on Friday, January 16 at 9pm ET/PT. Inspired by the classic blockbuster film, which commemorates its 20th anniversary next year, 12 Monkeys explores the provocative story of a time traveler from a decimated future in a high-stakes race against the clock. Utilizing a dangerous and untested method of time travel, he journeys from 2043 to the present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will all but annihilate the human race. The series is produced by Universal Cable Productions in association with Atlas Entertainment, producer of the original theatrical film.

12 Monkeys stars Aaron Stanford (as time-traveler Cole), Amanda Schull (Dr. Cassandra Railly), Kirk Acevedo (Ramse), Barbara Sukowa (Jones) and Noah Bean (Aaron Marker). Additional key recurring roles include Tom Noonan (Damages, Hell on Wheels) as a mysterious villain and Emily Hampshire (Rookie Blue) as mental patient Jennifer Goines.

Syfy and Universal Cable Productions will uncage 12 Monkeys at New York Comic Con this weekend, with a panel on Saturday, October 11 at 5pm ET headlined by series producers Natalie Chaidez, Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett. Series star Hampshire also stops by to discuss her role, which was portrayed by Brad Pitt in the original feature film. Her character is the show's wild card, a brilliant and unpredictable mental patient who may or may not be tied into the Twelve Monkeys' conspiracy to destroy the world with a virus.

  2.

I agree with the poster above that mentioned that Roy looked weird with his mask and hood. I thought the same thing every time the camera focused on his face. It's his eyes. Makeup department needs to add more definition. The mask is too dark against his pallor. And his eyes are light too,no? It's something.... Need some contouring and contrasting, methinks. Someone in the makeup department should get on that.

The makeup they put around his eyes doesn't match the color of his mask. I don't know what the best solution would be, tough.

  3. He looks so young, and it's weirding me out a little that resembles Taylor Lautner. But anyway, I like his enthusiasm!

  4. I'm like only halfway invested in this show, but even I'm upset with killing off Sara.

I think what I'm most bitter about is the interviews that have come out after the episode.  The callus way in which MG joked about how great CL was at playing a dead body...WTF?

Same thing happened when they killed off (in a horrific manner) the female love interest on Prison Break. The producers were bragging about how they killed her "awesomely", while being completely tone-deaf to how much the character was liked. (They eventually backtracked and brought back the character.) Do TPTB really not realize no one wants to see great character horribly murdered??

Why did they invest so much time into the Sara character (more than Laurel and she had 1 season up on her) only to toss her away like she was nothing? What was the point of them wasting so much screentime on Sara's story of suffering and survival to hero, if she was going to die so stupidly?

It's ridiculous. They brought in this awesome, heroic (well, she worked with the good guys) character that was well-recieved; she wasn't even around that long, and they kill her off.

This also reminds of Person of Interest, in which they killed off a female character who got replaced by another. At least Carter had an exit arc and went out like a Boss.

  5. From TVLine's Ask Ausiello:

Question: Any news or spoilers on Gotham? I’m hooked after only three episodes and I’m curious what’s ahead. —Eric F.
Ausiello: A better question is who’s ahead, and the answer is… Dr. Leslie Thompkins. DC Comics’ aficionados know her as Bruce Wayne’s Godmother, but I hear Gotham is tweaking Batman lore a smidge by also making her a love interest for James Gordon.

    Love interest?? Nooooooooooo!

    • Give Callen a first name. I know they've slowly revealed info about his past over the years, but it's Season 6 now; it's about time.
    • Cut Deeks' hair.
    • Give Eric more to do, and/or get him out the office more. He's one of my favorites, but he hardly gets to do anything.
    • Stop with the flirting/whatever stuff between Nell and Eric. I get enough of that crap with Kensi and Deeks.
    • Please vary the characters' clothes. I don't understand why they're always wearing the same things (just in different colors).

    • Seriously, what does the 'G' stand for?!

  6. Wow, I don't think I've ever seen Chris O'Donnell with that much hair AND a beard! I wonder if there's a plot reason for that. (Um, if there is, don't spoil!)

Sam is Callen's dog (dawg?)-- hee!

Didn't realize this was going to be a two-parter; seems kind of early in the season for that.

  7. Well, I hope that apartment set isn't going to be the only place we see Barb.

So she's hiding a drug habit and a lesbian relationship. I do like that she's Jim's sounding board; I hope she gets more to do eventually.

  8. Is Oswald going to murder several people every episode? Because I'm already tired of that. Surprised he made himself known so soon.(This is more about the writing than the character.)

There are too many regulars. They're going to have to decide that not everyone has to be in every episode.

    More thoughts later.

  9.

As a contentious city council vote on the future of the Arkham district approaches, politicians from both sides are in danger. Gordon and Bullock must race to protect the council and an old friend visits Gordon in the all-new "Arkham" episode of GOTHAM

  10. No; when Gordon asks if Bruce is getting therapy, Alfred says the Waynes had specific instructions on how to raise him. And he mentions "no psychiatrists" and (Bruce) choosing his own path.
