  1. Oh, and "more hand-to-hand combat" was on my TWoP wishlist for Season 6; and then in this episode Callen had a pipe/fistfight with a guy. Thanks, show!

Loved Sam doing his interview during a high-speed chase!

  2. Crap! Callen's "long" hair didn't last very long. :(  I'd love to hear the story of why.  Consolation prize(?): I think that's the most skin O'Donnell has shown on the show.

So they literally made Nell into Hetty this episode. Ugh. Go away Nell.

This is my "fluff" show, so I really don't remember anything about Draeger(?). Although, lately I've thinking that the show could use some recurring villains. Wish granted, I guess.

I made sure to do other things during the Deeks/Kensi scenes.

  3. Yeah, I was hoping the announcement would be for a second season. I read speculation elsewhere that Fox may want to shorten the gap between seasons. (Assuming it gets another season.)

  4. I hope feeling they're building up to something where Belle finds out that Rumple is still up to his old shenanigans. Because DAMN, her current storyline where she buys his lies just makes her look like a complete idiot.

Current storyline? How about almost all her storylines with Rumple. She's supposed to be the smart princess! Gah

    • Hopper's anvilicious "Let it go" line. Enough, show. Enough.

I figured they'd drop the phrase at some point, so I'm actually glad they did it in episode 3, so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

  5. ... Other than that, I LOVED the episode. ...

I'm with you (and many others), the premiere was going great and I had no complaints -- not about even the Oliver/Felicity "break-up" -- and then the last 60 seconds RUINED everything.

  6. Except that Will already has his own True Love waiting for him back in Wonderland (Anastasia, to whom he's married).  Not only would it be nonsensical, it would completely disregard established canon.

So what you're saying is, this pretty much guaranteed to happen? ;-)

(Nonsensical disregard of "canon" has never stopped these writers before!)

  7. Oh, and I thought the obvious solution would be to have Roland kiss his mother; but I guess they love ripping hearts out too much to do that.

More amnesia? It should be a drinking game with this show.

  8. It feels like the show is going to run out of different ice/snow-related images for the title card....

Nothing like a declaration of love over a frozen body.  Robin is a total ass.  Even Regina showed more restrain.

And you just know that she heard everything and it's going to bite them all later.

Thanks for giving Snow a free session Archie, but how 'bout you fold up the stroller for her?

Dude! You still left her with stroller on the ground! Come on.

  9. I thought we could use a Fun thread.

Oswald is trying to work his way up to flamboyant crime boss; what does he learn on his way there?

  10. Fish/Falcone was is interesting. But are we seriously supposed to believe that Fish would be stupid enough to  put herself out there by snitching on Gordon? There's not that many people who know about the supposed murder so  it's not like that info couldn't be traced back to her.

This was the biggest problem for me -- plot-wise. She already knows that he already knows that he is on to her. And then she also attacks his girlfriend. Obviously, it's not smart, when I think we're supposed to be impressed with her scheming.

I don't think death by balloon is going to be topped by any other crime show this year.

Somewhere, a CSI writer just bolted upright in a cold sweat.

I do have questions though. does Bruce have any friends? Does he go to school? Have servents besides Alfred? I mean the Waynes live in a big house they had to have had servents right? What happened to them? Or should i just write it all off as weird rich people behavior and move on?

The show could do with focusing on just few of the characters and fleshing them out. I'd really like more backstory/details on a few of the main characters.

"Cat-Tween" made it into this week's summary.  Does this make Bruce Bat-Tween?

Nah... he's not an overtly a mini-version of his adult persona --yet-- like Selina is.

Of course now Jim is unintentionally complicit in all of the murders (many of innocents) this psycho has done since Jim let him go.  Not that Jim knows anything about those.

I don't think he is; and I just don't like this type of reasoning, anyway. Oswald made his own choices, and Gordon had no idea what he would do after saving his life. I don't think that makes him responsible  for Oswald's actions.

Are we supposed to like Montoya/Allen? Because all they've done so far is be a pain in the neck for Gordon. Either give them something to do, or leave them out of the episode.

Vulture: An In-Depth Cultural Analysis of Asian Male TV Characters Getting Some Action

You don't know how happy I was that John Cho/Gabby Union was the first thing they talked about! (That show was crap, but I still 'ship them.) Didn't know about Darren Criss being "stealth Asian".

  12. Gahahayyyyyhhhh....!!!

To just shove it in there because, “Uh-oh, we need diversity,” is silly and a little disgusting. It needs to be the best people working on the best shows. They happen to be white, that’s a shame. They happen to be all guys, that’s a shame. No one says this about sports — they do sometimes, the owners — but sorry, that most basketball, football players happen to be black. That’s just the way that it is.

Wow. What is wrong with him? (rhetorical--where to start??)

With that reasoning, I guess white guys make the best presidents and black guys make the best criminals 'cause NUMBERS.

Is he really complaining that's there's not enough white people around? He really doesn't know that others factors play into these issues/results?? Gaaaah

  13. The article refers to a TV show, but I putting it here since the issue is more of a Hollywood thing: "Painting down."

AKA using makeup on a (most likely, white) stunt person to match the race of the (darker-skinned/ethnic) actor. The issue is that there are enough ethnically/racially diverse stunt performers available nowadays so that casting/stunt coordinators should hire them, instead of painting down a white stunt performer.

I'd never been aware of this issue before, but thinking about it, it makes sense that something like this would be going on in Hollywood. The article uses the term "blackface", but I wouldn't go so far. It's a completely different intent.

  14. From SyFy's press release (via The Futon Critic):

Syfy's anticipated adventure thriller 12 Monkeys will make its series premiere on Friday, January 16 at 9pm ET/PT. Inspired by the classic blockbuster film, which commemorates its 20th anniversary next year, 12 Monkeys explores the provocative story of a time traveler from a decimated future in a high-stakes race against the clock. Utilizing a dangerous and untested method of time travel, he journeys from 2043 to the present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will all but annihilate the human race. The series is produced by Universal Cable Productions in association with Atlas Entertainment, producer of the original theatrical film.

12 Monkeys stars Aaron Stanford (as time-traveler Cole), Amanda Schull (Dr. Cassandra Railly), Kirk Acevedo (Ramse), Barbara Sukowa (Jones) and Noah Bean (Aaron Marker). Additional key recurring roles include Tom Noonan (Damages, Hell on Wheels) as a mysterious villain and Emily Hampshire (Rookie Blue) as mental patient Jennifer Goines.

Syfy and Universal Cable Productions will uncage 12 Monkeys at New York Comic Con this weekend, with a panel on Saturday, October 11 at 5pm ET headlined by series producers Natalie Chaidez, Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett. Series star Hampshire also stops by to discuss her role, which was portrayed by Brad Pitt in the original feature film. Her character is the show's wild card, a brilliant and unpredictable mental patient who may or may not be tied into the Twelve Monkeys' conspiracy to destroy the world with a virus.
