  1. With Colter(Hartley) outdoors and on location most of the time, I guess having his handlers and hacker have all their scenes in one room saves money. But even if that's a small part of the show, I feel that's going to get boring eventually.

I'd love some face-to-face interactions with his team, and some backstory of how they started working together.

Case of the week was engaging, but I hope not every episode involves a shootout.

I got lost a lot during this episode.

Yeah; this was me. I admit, sometimes I'm multitasking with some of these case-of-the-week shows, but this time I was actually paying attention!

Didn't really like the end with the mother of the girl not pressing charges; but like someone already mentioned, would that actually be up to her?

Anyway -- the only fashion standout was Robyn's embellished coat. I did like that her hair was loose, which they don't usually do.

Ah, the "free-spirited sister." Do we know whether this was originally supposed to be episode 2 or 3?

This was originally supposed to be #2.

  5. Season 4 thoughts:

Okay, since I mentioned Craig Charles' acting before, I have to say that I find him greatly improved this season. I don't know if it's the writing, or if he was more comfortable in the role, or whatever. Although there are still a couple of times where he's almost breaking character by laughing at a line he shouldn't be laughing at.

I think the stories improved a bit, or at least they were funnier; they seem to be hitting their stride. Some really fun episodes here!

Kryten was a great addition to the cast.

I wish they'd given Cat an arc or two; he's still pretty one-note. Even Kryten and Holly got some growth.

  6. [Late, and I haven't read all the comments yet, but I just had to get this out:]

These fools. They cannot be serious! I'm talking about the writers/showrunners. To think, earlier in the season I was actually commending them for actually fixing a problem with the show, BUT NO, they still want to to go with Ben/Addison. NOBODY is here for that, especially the Addison part. They were doing so good with Ben & Hannah! I wasn't really expecting them to last past this season, but the doubling down on with Ben/Addison is just dumb.

I have absolutely dropped a show for putting the wrong couple together, so I don't know if y'all will see me here next season.

And on a different, smaller, nitpicky note: it bothered me that Gideon has curly hair, but the actors for his younger self did not.

[Okay, back to reading the comments, more thoughts later...]

  7. 'Grant Gustin shares what he misses most about The Flash'

    Quote

Grant Gustin has an unsurprising answer to what he misses most about The Flash: “The people,” he told The A.V. Club in a recent interview. “I did it for nearly 10 years. I was 23 when that show started and 33 when the show ended, and grew up, and learned a lot of who I was, and just matured a lot throughout the process, and was surrounded by cast and crew that became family. I mean, it’s so cliché, but it’s true. I spent so much more time with all of those people than I did with anyone that was my actual family during those years. And it’s weird to just suddenly end and know that we’ll never all be in the same room at the same time again.”

    More at the link.

  8. For goodness sake, how many nemesises does Robyn need? And the character and actress weren't compelling either.

Like everyone else, I prefer the cases-of-the-week with Robyn helping the little guy. There shouldn't be any CIA plots, but I'm willing to tolerate a couple episodes per season.

Also, who decided that since we made it to season 4, screw it, let's just have a sword fight?

I did LOL at that, just because of how ridiculous it was.

But I am glad the show is back, hopefully it's back to its regular format next week.

Google insists on telling me that Mary McDonnell plays Colter's Mom and Wikipedia says she joined the cast 2022. So I watched the pilot wondering when she would show up. No idea what happened but I guess the fact that they initally went for a relatively big name for the part means that Moma Colter definitely has a couple of figurative and probably one literal skeletons in the closet. No disrespect to Wendy Crewson. (Also: during her first scene I kept wondering what the hell Mary McDonnell had done to her face.)

She was initially cast, but dropped out for whatever reason. There wasn't really any news reported about the recasting.

  10. Okay, so some clunky expository dialogue and cliché tropes, but I still thought this was good. Willing to stick around and see more of Colter's adventures. It's starting out stronger than some other shows.

Will we see Phoebe again? Is Molly going to be a series regular in Season 2?

Molly will continue to be a series regular in Season 2. … We wanted to be honest to the character and honor what she’s going through mentally and not have her panic disorder solved in an episode and have everything just go back to normal. We really wanted to put her character through something, but she is taking this other position. She will have stories there, and we’ll go from there, but she is definitely going to continue to be a big part of the fabric of the show.

  13. Ugh - they really had to ruin a pretty decent ending with a downer Season 2 tease.

Anyway -- a few good things: Bombing mystery is solved, so we can move on from that. Got rid of one assistant - should have been both, but, baby steps. Rose is back! Kylie's got a job at the FBI, which is what I figured would happen.

Not related to this episode; but if they actually show Alec in the classroom more, that might be a better place for the behavioral theory exposition next season.

Willing to give this show a second chance -- if they actually revamp a few things.

  14. Season finale:

Alec and Marisa are close to finding the culprit of the church bombing. Kylie gets an interview with the FBI, but is pulled into the investigation. Rose tracks down a witness. Phoebe and Rizwan make a discovery that sheds light on the truth.
