  1. Wasn't Nahn wearing a spacesuit which includes a helmet with a breathing support system? I wouldn't say this Spock reminds me of TOS Spock, but I like him and I like his bitchy relationship with Michael. I also like the idea of an all-powerful computer trying to become conscient, although it kind of seems Kirk's speciality, you know. I liked the Ariam part too.
  2. I think the beings behind the explosions of energy were trying to attract the Discovery to the planet exactly because it was going to be destroyed by the E.L.E, so no coincidence at all imo. Which is weird because I don't get why beings with such powers would need the Fleet's help, but ok. It was boring, anyway. I just can't help waiting for Spock.
  3. I feel like the guy who plays Pike is channelling Shatner's best Kirk sometimes. I must admit I'm curious about what happened between Spock and Michael. However, I don't trust Alex Kurtzman at all, after he turned Sleepy Hollow into trash, so I'm going to prepare for the worst.
  4. The thing is, I don't think this is a good movie, but I enjoyed it anyway. With that soundtrack, how could I not? The actors did a great job, although the actors who played Deacon, May and Taylor don't have much to do besides impersonating their counterparts. The only thing I really didn't like was that the movie showed the fact that Freddie wanted to try it on his own like this big bertrayal, when the truth is that all of them had their side projects. Also, according to the movie, it was like Freddie was the only one doing drugs and having wild sex and let me tell you all I seriously doubt that. It's easy to overlook him, since we're talking about Queen, but Alan Leech is amazing in his disgusting role. Oh, how much I wanted to punch him in the face, what a vile, ugly person. And I also loved when the song "We are the champions" hits the "no time for losers" and we get to see the guy who rejected BR, heh. The movie had some other funny moments, (i.e., when Roger's flirting with Freddie's sister) but we saw most of them in the trailers.
  5. To me, the fact that Chidi or Tahani didn't make it is proof that, indeed, almost no one goes to the Good Place. I mean, Chidi tried so hard to be good, he never lied, he was helpful, he never hurt anyone on purpose. And Tahani did a lot of good, helped a lot of people. Was she vain? Yes, and she also didn't do it for the better reasons. But the point is they weren't bad people and they didn't deserve an eternity of pain, yet that's what they got. The system seems to be legitimately unfair, unless there's another twist hiding somewhere. Bip!
  6. I was thinking the same thing. Even if Pillboi is able to spend his days helping the elderly and away from crime, so what. Florence Nightingale didn't make the cut; with the system as it is, being sent into the Good Place is almost impossible. However, I think their selfless actions are helping them. Not enough. though. I mean, it's the points system what must be changed. That should be their goal. Also, if the people in the Good Place are really good people, how can they live with themselves knowing that the 99'99% of the world population is being endlessly tortured? I know I couldn't and I'm not good enough to get into the Good Place.
  7. It's like they're becoming angels now, trying to guide people into the Good Place. Loved that, I'm very proud of them. And this episode was the best of this season and one of the best oif the whole show. So many wonderful, hilarious things. This show is amazing.
  8. This got me thinking because if there are demons, there should be angels too, right? But I don't think we've heard a word about then, yet. This could be a future twist or something. I wasn't feeling Janet this season because she's too human now, imo: I liked how unusual her reactions used to be. But I loved here the way she was trying to help other people. Tahani's "Best luck next time" because Elinor had only won 18.000 $ had me rolling. But I guess I like this show better when the supernatural parts are going strong because I was exremely glad when the Brainy Bunch saw The Door at the end of the episode. Can't wait to see what happens now!
  9. That was pretty great. One thing I really love about this show is that Sam, Casey, Evan and Izzy feel like real teenagers (Paige, not so much, though). The relationship between Sam and Casey feels so natural.. I love when she annoys him just for the sake of it because that's exactly what siblings do. I don't know, I think it's one of the strongest points of this show. However, I can't stand Elsa. I don't know if it's the way she's written or the way the actress is playing her, but I can't with her. I wouldn't trust someone like her in RL, she feels extremely fake. She literally makes my skin crawl.
  10. He's a naughty little imp.
  11. I don't remember the exact words but : Guard: That's no way to treat a lady. Aleida: It's "Aleida", you idiot. I almost die.
  12. I'm a bit disappointed with June's choice but if next season she joins the Resistance or something, I could live with it. However, I think she'd have been more useful to Hannah in Canada, working safely against Gilead. By staying, she's risking her life and tbh, I'm not sure she has the skills to free Hannah. God, I love to hate Aunt Lydia, but when Emily stabbed her I almost threw a party. Serena's main personal sin is probably pride. And she didn't want to admit to herself -or June- that Gilead actually sucks big time. But she's getting there. Does it mean she can be redeemed? I don't believe there's a right or wrong answer, forgiveness is such a personal choice. It seems that the new Commander created the colonies. Now he's trying to help. Does it mean he can be redeemed? Emily probably thinks he can. Most of you seem to believe he can. The women who are now dying in the colonies probably think he can't. I don't know if I wanted her to be redeemed, though. On the one hand, it'd mean she's helping people who needs helping. On the other hand, I sort of like the idea of her betting always for the wrong horse and paying the final price. When the second season started, I said this show wasn't telling new things. It was repetitive and it seems I was right. Things have to change for season three.
  13. As others have already said, I don't think commander Lawrence hurt his maid, quite the contrary. And regarding Eden's death, it isn't June's fault at all. He's raped her several times so I wouldn't say he treats June well. Anyway, I don't think it has to do with penises. In my experience, female characters are judged more harshly than male characters. So I'd say the main difference is that Fred is mostly happy with his life as Commander in Gilead whereas Serena's trying to convince herself that she's happy with her life in Gilead. If they could go back in time. Fred would create Gilead again: I'm pretty sure Serena wouldn't. And that's why she's more interesting to me than Fred or why I find her motivations more intriguing. Also, YS is amazing. Joseph Fiennes is a fine actor but who can tell, behind all that hair? Anyway, Serena's awful and I don't like her better just because she let June feed the baby. I don't trust her: tomorrow she could be sending June to the colonies. I'm very curious about the new Commander. I think he regrets what he did and wants to make amends. The character may help to develop the plot in new directions, something sorely needed. I wish I could say I care about Eden's death, but I don't.
  14. Well, that's my point. I've seen lots of posts wondering about the world's reaction to Gilead, but maybe there isn't any serious reaction. Maybe the world doesn't give a shit because that's what usually happens in RL.
  15. I think EM is amazing. This season has a lot of flaws but her acting isn't one of them.
  16. I thought the door was frozen to the ground and that's why she couldn't open it.
  17. Yes, I loved that part. I'm glad Serena doesn't get to pretend she's the one having the baby. Also great? The fight between Serena and Fred. I love how they hate each other. And I'm glad June didn't shoot them because it would have been too quick and painless. Everything else was pretty weak. When you know that she isn't going to die and she isn't going to run away, it isn't exactly gripping. And well, if the writers want to spend ten seasons with June, they need to understand that some plots aren't going to work (like "will she escape?" Because we know she won't). Regarding the world's reaction to Gilead, if Gilead has nuclear power (and what`s left of America doesn't have economic power) maybe the rest of the world is "okay, well, not our business". Right now there are people being massacred in several parts of the world, there are about 150 millions of slaves in Africa and Asia etc. and tbh, I don't see people in general losing their sleep over that. So maybe Gilead is being watched with the same indifference.
  18. Of course, but they weren't having sex. In addition to the psychological horrors of being raped, which cannot be good for the baby, she could have been physically injured. Also, she almost bled to death some months ago. That's why I think the Waterfords could be in trouble if they were reported. Having sex with your Handmaid when it isn't for reproductive motives is illegal, as Putnam found out. However, the writing isn't as tight as it used to be, so who knows.
  19. "Serena Joy" is starting to become the most ironic name ever. I liked the theory that everything that happened at the end was a trap, but if it was, I don't think Serena was in, which could save June's life. I mean, I think she still wants that baby, even if Fred doesn't. So she won't just believe June's gone, just like that. Although I agree with you all_ ironically, June's better alone in that house than with the Waterfords. Every time the Wives pretend one of them is having a baby I want to mock them and throw up at the same time. Serena looked absolutely ridiculous. I don't think what Serena and Fred did was legal even in Gilead. Sex is for procreation, not for inducing labor. They were risking the baby. I wonder what would happen if Aunt Lydia knew about that. Anyway, they're monsters and if they don't end up suffering the most painful punishment I'm going to be very disappointed. June's smirk may not be the smartest idea, but it shows she's human, she's still June, she's not defeated. She often pays a high price for every smirk, but I like the fact that she has this fire inside her. Tbh, I'm surprised so many people don't, because in my opinion, this is supposed to be a good thing. To me, the simple fact that she hasn't stabbed them to death in their bed shows great restrain and grace under pressure. Emily kicking that pig in his nuts was clearly a thing of beauty, but I also enjoyed Aunt Lyidia shaking her head in disappointment when June was basically laughing at Serena's face. I never knew I needed this until now.
  20. Gilead Tours: The Untourism.
  21. Wow, I can't believe it! I'm very happy about this. Great news!
  22. Gilead. Because nightmares are just a different kind of dream.
  23. Oh, you're right, I remembered it wrong.
  24. It was totally her fault. I think it is because then you can brag every time you add a star, like you can see the country's growing, which may be more intimidating to Gilead, too. Yeah, I agree. My mind went right there when she said that and I thought June was going to be terrified after hearing it. My favourite part of the episode was when some Canadian woman told Serena she didn't know how Serena was able to sleep at night because that's what I've been wondering myself since minute one. And this time I was glad to see her embarrassed and humilliated because it was for the right reasons, by the right people. As for Fred, he isn't even aware of the monstrosity he has created and he needs to die in a very painful way, the sooner, the better. I'm not sure it'd be wise to spend ten years with June and the Waterfords, since that'd mean nothing can really change: June can't run away. Fred can't pay for everything he's done...
