The writers are BEHIND Patty, her existence and her storyline...so hating Patty is the same as disliking what the writers have done for and because of Patty.
-
Seriously? Could have fooled me and I guess they did.
-
Exactly, I love how realism starts to play a part when we talk about Iris being integrated into the team more. I can't even deal. Lol!
-
They barely have conversations. Most of the time Barry acts as if he can't wait to NOT be in her presence. It is the weirdest relationship I have ever witnessed on one of these shows.

That's why I tuned in...for Iris. My experience with The Flash came from the Justice League cartoon and I liked Wally West, but a live action show never interested me until I saw that they cast CP as Iris and Jesse L. Martin were also involved. I went in in disbelief because you know...Bonnie Bennett syndrome and all...and then things were ok for the first half of Season One. Then it went to crap and stayed there. Yes, it was bait and switch and I think they knew what they were doing, but I guess they also didn't know how passionate Iris and CP fans would be.

I can believe Hancock stole from DC...lol! Ironically, if I wasn't so pissed over Iris tonight--I would have enjoyed the Hawk storyline along with Vandal Savage. Most of the time when I am watching the show, I just want Barry to get pummeled.

I cut a show based on a comic book NO slack. Iris is not some character they made out of thin air. They have SOMETHING to draw from and they can't even do that. They refuse to do it. Patty is useless to me and she wasn't need in any way, shape or form. What exactly has she done to advance any plot this season? She's worse than Eddie and I couldn't stand him. So there's a reason for what they are doing and unfortunately the CW will never get the benefit of the doubt because of their history.
-
I don't know if this is comic lore with the Hawks (at least, I don't think so), but it basically sounded like the plot of Hancock to me.

I'm seeing the same arguments about Iris' lack of screen time that I've seen for Bonnie Bennett for seven seasons. I.Am.Exhausted. Absolutely exhausted. They at least can use the excuse that Kat Graham is not the lead on TVD, but I see absolutely no excuse for the way Candace is treated and no one can convince me that it wouldn't be this way if she wasn't black (YEARSSSSSSSSSS of watching the CW told me that I am not wrong). So The Flash will not be part of my tv watching until I see some improvement in the Iris area. I'm sick of being upset, pissed and downright bamboozled again and again. The CW will never change. People thinks its all good for Kendra right now, watch what happens when Sarah is added to the line up.

phoenics, I want to give you a standing ovation on your post above. It doesn't matter WHAT Iris' job was, they would have shoehorned into the background. There is absolutely no freaking reason in the world that they could not have her researching or looking through old newspaper articles and coming across Vandal Savage or even Kendra and Carter. This is unacceptable. This is a superhero, supernatural show...they can write for telepathic gorillas, men who can run faster than sound, a shark man, etc., but they can't find a way to write an investigative reporter in the mix? Even when there is a clear blueprint on how to do it? I find that hard to believe. Seriously.

One Line for your female lead. Never change The Flash, never change.

They entertain me more than NY. Don is a complete psycho.

Great series! Enjoyed it immensely. I'm fine with Kilgrave being dead and how it happened, he was starting to dance on my LAST nerve.
-
Thank you.

There is no such thing as kinda incest, either it is or it's not. Barry and Iris are not related, period. Didn't we spend an entire season getting his freaking dad cleared of murder charges and half a season trying to save his mom? Neither which were played by Jesse or Vanessa.
-
They're liars when it comes to Iris and her storylines. The CW has perfected the art of getting the fandom, especially the part who supports black females, to support their shows in hopes of actually seeing their girl get more or at the very least equal billing, storylines, attention as their counterparts. Iris has been handled poorly, they did it last season and it hasn't changed this season. I swear if I hear her chirp how everything's great one.more.time...I may develop a voice like Zoom's. Eddie died....nothing. Her mom came back as a drug addict...nothing. Secret brother...nothing. Why has she had a chance to mourn episode after episode....what did they show? Iris alone on the stairs crying. A show and a character that I thought would be an easy watch for me almost made me forget on paper that I was dealing with the CW. Never again.
-
Eh...better Caroline than Bonnie. Works for me.
-
Now I can believe that it's Henry.
-
I expected if Zoom was Barry for him to have some type of recognition of Iris, but with this show he will probably see Patty and suddenly melt at her feet.
-
Zoom reminded me of Bane as well, but with Candyman's voice. Either way, the last few minutes of The Flash were intense. I can't even talk about Iris and her disappearing because I have never been more DISGUSTED with this show than I've been this season with regard to Iris. They drop the ball constantly...oh and speaking of dropping stuff, Patty can drop dead any episode now.

I love Major and Liv together, I really do hope those crazy kids can reunite. Just waiting for Clive's 'story' on why he had to beat the hell out of that dad.
-
LOL! I'm sorry, I have to laugh at 'we're an alien species'. All I know is where there is smoke...

Between Lisa from Saved By the Bell to Lacey on Twisted to Bonnie Bennett on TVD to freaking Iris on The Flash, I am so battle weary that I can't even began to talk about how tired I am of Iris' storyline. I have to say that it closely resembles Lacey on Twisted, all she needs is a #poorJo...although I think she has a #poorBarry. What tipped me over the edge was . I was already on the cusp due to the whole cut scenes and then the one scene where Joe tells her the truth and then nothing. I don't know what their plan is, but I am not impressed with what they have done so far with Iris. The fact that there has been little to no reaction to Eddie dying (didn't like him but still...) to the fact that her mother comes back and they cut a scene where Barry could have been the friend to her that she's been to him. It seems like we play the same game over and over again and we ask the same questions over and over again...I swear, I read some posts and I'm not sure if we are talking about Iris or Bonnie Bennett...do the writers like them? The writers say that this is a BIG season for them? Their scenes are cut...no POV...I'm tired now. I have watched Bonnie Bennett be sidelined for 6 seasons on CW, I thought the Iris character would be different--but I believe CW pulled the bait and switch with me and so many other and I am not interested. I will watch The Muppets.
