  2. After watching Jackson’s scenes...I’m irritated with his behavior and attitude with maggie, he’s been acting like such a playboy and it’s not a good look on him. But I want to talk about the couch scene between him and maggie. Kelly got the props last night from Krista but imo Jesse carried the emotional weight of that scene and that’s cause Jackson has so much emotional history with the audience. We’ve seen his struggles. I had complained so often last season that Jackson’s history was being swiped away to put him and maggie on the same level. They did that! But now they’ve given it back to him and it just makes him and maggie seem way mismatched more than ever, not even getting into how bad their chemstry is and how they aren’t a strong enough pair to carry this. So i watched the couch scene, and I came away feeling so very sad for Jackson. He’s going to live his best life but he’s going to regret how it won’t be as amazing as it could have been. Jesse really tapped into that sadness and wow, when Jesse Williams actually cares and connects he’s amazing. This is the most depth he’s shown since no Montana! (Not shocking since the same writer who wrore montana wrote this episode) Concerning April, I think just labeling the reason they are apart as “cause God” is an incredibly broad stroke and doesn’t even come close to covering the intricacies of it all, but from what I heard and saw...he feels that now that he believes and has a better understanding of April’s faith, that he would have been more open to aprils train of thought and she might have leaned on him more. Because IMO, I think april left to grieve on her own because she felt she couldn’t lean on him BECAUSE he not only didn’t believe, but felt it silly. I always think back to the episode where samuel died and she’s understandably struggling with what she has to do and she talks about waiting for a miracle, then she stops and seems to shake herself out of it and says “why am I even talking to you about this?”. April felt she couldn’t be open about this. Well now Jackson is in the same headspace, and maybe he feels this huge gulf between them has now shortened and it’s just too late. April has moved on. That realization that now you feel you could be what she needs in a way you might not have been able to before is devastating! I felt Jackson’s devestation. I mean, his struggle isn’t about God, it’s about april. I’m so so sad for him. Maggie...Krista went on about how Kelly unpacked what makes maggie broken which would have been great if it’s not the same ol BS that she monologues about EVERY SEASON! Maggie does not have the emotional maturity to deal with that this, and hey, she’s been honest about that. Granted I don’t think she expected what she heard when she said “try me”. But girl is massively in way over her head with Jackson right now. “Messy” and “complicated” are the nice ways to describe what he’s going through. This was all about Jackson and his baggage to me. I don’t know what they are going for but I don’t know how jaggie become anything iconic after this.
  3. It bothers me a lot this rewritten history with Ellis. From what I remember, after she died, Meredith reasoned that while she was a horrible mother she was also an extraordinary surgeon that she should learn from. That’s somehow morphed into feelings of warmth and nurture to the point of naming her daughter after her which to this day irritates me.
  4. The way Krista described it, they still have ownership of their images of past images. I’m not sure if it means still having to pay them a residual.
  5. I really didn’t care for Jackson this episode. He honestly was behaving like a douche bag who knew he messed up. His whole demeanor is just weird but this honestly reminds me of how he was with Stephanie at times. Trying to use his charm and appeal to get her to agree. And maggie didn’t hold him accountable. Maybe at face value this episode was supposed to show how “healthy” they are but beyond that it’s not holding.
  6. Yes because he was filming a movie at this time but he was only gone a money so I think he only going to be gone three episodes tops.
  7. It bothers me a lot and makes me bitter for all the possibilities that will never come out.
  8. Does anyone one think it’s weird that a character whose faith was such an integral part of her character and a major topic in her main ship was written off and now both those things are being transferred to Jackson and jaggie? I cant help but feel really jipped. What he’s going through is profound and would have meant to much to japril. I really wish they would have thought of something else for these two that didn’t have remnants of April.
  9. But Sara implied that she wasn’t asked. She said the ball was now in their court. So I don’t know how to infer that she was asked and refused. I took it as she was never asked but Shonda and Krista didn’t want crap from the calzona fandom so they said cbs wouldn’t let her, which seems like a dumb thing to do as well. I do agree, there’s no place for callie anymore. All of her people are gone.
  10. Sarah is as classy and genuine as I’ve come to expect from her but she wasn’t bullshitting in that interview. This was incredibly honest and raw. I hope for the absolute best for her and it does sound like she’s genuinely excited for what’s ahead.

  12. This is a lot of it BASEOPS, what you described is nice, it just wasn’t on screen. April’s exit was handled in a sentence from Jackson to Maggie. She couldn’t even have April explain herself what the heck she’ll be doing. Krista had to go on Twitter and explain further what April is doing. Matthew was brought in back in season 10 to represent April’s old ideals for what she wanted in a man. I might have been able to buy him being endgame now but Krista couldn’t be bothered to show us any of it. Yeah she didn’t die but that shouldn’t be the standard for having a good exit. I know april didn’t have that many close relationships but she’s been there for 9 years, she had no last scenes with anyone except Jackson and Arizona. There are fans who didn’t even register that that was April’s last episode.
  13. I’ve been speculating this for weeks especially after Sarah and Jessica were let go. Krista said jn her THR interview at the beginning of the season that if she had room in her budget she’d have Kim back in a heartbeat...well she made room! Whats unfortunate is teddy is going to be used as a folly for Owen and Amelia and the final piece to Kristas new “modern family”.
  14. I will be really upset if they replay that storyline with Jackson and maggie. Krista has recycled enough. But like you said, maggie isn’t religious and there’s no one to keep him accountable about this, it’ll just kind of go by the waistside. Which I prefer. This storyline could have been really amazing with a character that it would have been profound for (instead of insulting people who don’t believe) and with a showrunner who cares about religion in the slightest beyond a surface “God’s Work” understanding.
  15. My bad, you’re right he said he’d believe in God. If jackson went on this journey it would be interesting. But I’m gonna be that person...you had someone with deep religious roots questioning God and you give the exploration of God and different religions to Jackson? This is the kind of thing that really burns me.
  16. If that actually happens and it’s something that gets actually explored for more than an episode than that will be very interesting and something I can see myself checking out. Thing is, without April there, I don’t see how or why hed do it. Maggie and Jackson and a giggle kiss moment about neither one of them knows about religion so it doesn’t mean as much to them as a pair as it would have to jackson and April. What is the motivation for him to actually learn about Christianity? No one will hold him to it and he doesn’t have the visual reminder (April) to hold him accountable. I have a feeling this was something to make it seem like japril have closure with this issue. Which like most of their conflicts in season 14, it’s a very surface resolution.
  17. Krista is gonna get away with this cause by all accounts this is a HEA but to whittle her down to April’s most basic trait and strip away all it’s complexities, her religion, and make that the basis for how she writes her out and how april makes her decisions. It ignores everything april has learned. April had always yearned for professional acceptance and never got it. I’m as upset over that as I am over japril not being endgame. Gosh matthew is such a representation of april pre season 9-13 and it drives me crazy that Krista just doesn’t care about April or her fans. I’ve never been more insulted for a fictional character and I’ve never been given a clearer message of “if you loved april, I don’t want you here”
  18. Something that was used as a one off line to get a character out of the show. I don’t beliefe for a second Krista actually cares to explore that. She couldn’t muster up the care to actually explain what kind of work april would be doing.
  19. I actually watched the whole episode save for the first 15 mins. As an April fan I don’t think I’ve ever been more upset. I know this has the dressings of a happy ending for April...and hey, I guess she didn’t die so that’s a plus. But this ending just feels spiteful towards fans of April and of japril. Mind you I’d have accepted any other scenario then what we actually got. April’s exit wasn’t even played out for us to understand, we’re just told she quit her job...WTF? To do God’s work? In season 11 she tells Jackson that God gave her a calling and she followed it...SHE WAS ALREADY DOING GODS WORK! But Krista couldn’t even exaplin what exactly April would be doing outside of working with the homeless...she had to go on Twitter to tell people when they called her out. The lackadaisical and flippant attitude about April’s exit enfuriates me and tells me April was never supposed to live to the finale. Then japril. I know they weren’t getting back together. But Krista literally walked them back to the season 10 episode before maprils wedding. That procedure they did on the wedding planner is the exact procedure Jackson and April did on the patient Matthew tried to give a trache (with a straw) back in season 10. Krista pretty much “course corrected” to the ending she wanted. Then we couldn’t even get a good last scene with them. You can tell Krista did it to throw a bone to fans but they tried their hardest to make that scene not mean more than two friends saying goodbye. We never got any conversation about the pain THEY ACTUALLY SHARE. I’m supposed to beliefe Matthew and April have this special connection due to their loss and ignore two people who actually share a specific tragedy! Ugh. mind you, no one from the cast including sadah drew acknowledges mapril in the finale and I’m loving it. They know how much it was BS. Lastly on this, Krista reduced April to the easiest trait she could milk. Her religion. How many times was it freaking mentioned this episode? It was 80% of Matthews proposal. WTH? April was about so much more but Krista doesn’t think so. Honestly if you string april from season 7, when Krista was last on the show, to now...and ignore 9-13, it makes a lot more sense. To Krista, april was never meant to be taken seriously. And the exit she got shows how seriously Krista ever thought of April in the end. So yeah I’m not happy at all and I’m not even mad about japril not ending up together at this point. But other then that, there was a lot of fun and hijinks to be had. So no one is concerned there’s a life skeleton in the shed? No one called the police. That’s such a freaking weird and random thing to put in. Bailey, you can tell Krista wrote this. Bailey is going on and on and then talks about a voice in her that’s always told her she couldn’t stop and then literslltnsays “that’s probably the patriarchy”...WTF IS THAT? so now being driven is the fault of the patriarchy? I’m a woman and a feminist but my god can we stop blaming men for all the shit they deal with already. This didn’t even make sense. Lastly, I’m not going to make any big declarations about my continued viewership but I will say: what happened to japril and April Kepner this season and this finale, I have never seen a show runner be so spiteful and so personal. I’ve never seen something be torpedoed like this.
  20. Yes to all this! I’m so freaking mad at how April left but Krista made sure anyone who says that looks dumb cause on the outside it’s a “perfect” ending. Yeah for anyone who didn’t know who April Kepner was, and it’s so apparent krista doesn’t know or care. If THATs The goal for jaggie then yeah that’ll eventually happen. Where people will just go with it cause the writers won’t do anything else. But if they are hoping fans will be transferring over, then they have a very naive and gross over simplification to how shipping works. Especially when you essentially give those fans the middle finger with an ending like this.
  21. There was a lot that was over the top and embarrassing. I can’t help it, that last scene with everyone in April’s room awake had a wizard of oz vibe. I was half expecting her to say, “and i saw you, you, and you were there too!” And a lot of that dialogue was lifetime movie of the week cringe. But it wasn’t without its highlights. Jesses acted the crap out of this. I loved April telling Owen how he always brings her back. Even April comforting a crying Arizona was perfect. I have a lot of feelings about Matthew and April and all of them are negative so for now I’ll just say I don’t like it.
  22. Forgetting japril for a second, Matthew is the embodiment of things april has outgrown and to say that he’s the one for her feels like such a betrayal of who april is now. I don’t want her to die so if it has to be this way then so be it, but it solidifies to me that Krista doesn’t know who April Kepner became, only the April she knew back in season 7. Then forgetting all this, I might have been down for a mapril ending if writing off april was given anywhere close the consideration and care characters like Cristina got or even callie. This feels like it was slapped on for thrills and it annoys me. Not even mentoring how Arizona’s send off has been a “C” story and now this Hail Mary is coming in. Smh.
  23. She is beyond exhausting. The smugness and arrogance is a turn off.
  24. I totallt get this viewpoint cause this is also Krista view point too. I will say writing wise, I do think this season is stronger under krista. My issue, and this is really a me thing cause what I watch this show for is different then what you watch for. Japril meant a lot, and they’ve been shat on a lot like the situations you mentioned. Honestly for the most part I was encouraged by the second episode where april maturely put her self out there and said this wasn’t working for her. What’s super ironic, I actually *LIKE* this April Kepner under vernoff. The only thing I disagree about is Jackson being this great friend, cause hoenstly had anyone else been exhibiting the behaviors april had there would have been a damn intervention. Concerning japril, it just feels like things were dropped for jaggie and now that April is leaving there’s a lot left on the table. Which would be one thing if it didn’t feel like Krista wasn’t trying to dismiss them. Another couple as highlighted as them has never been treated like this just cause the showrunner didn’t care about them. But beyond all this...what I was referring to was the scenario the other poster presented which was what if the show just transports back to April and Matthews wedding and Jackson just never stands up and mapril get married and then we fast forward back to now and things have been sort of reset. IF as wild a scenario as that happens, that would be insulting to a fanbase that really loved and cared about them.
