If Jonathan were the killer, he would have no alibi. He would realize as much, which is why it seems safe to eliminate him. What were his real plans during that fake conference? For some reason, it seems unlikely that he was going to spend it with Elena, hiding out at her studio. Someone else knew about the fake trip and where he was supposed to be at that time, possibly the same person who followed Jonathan to Elena's studio that night, waited until he left and then murdered her.

Jonathan admitting on tv that he was the reason Elena died was stupid. Does that not leave him wide open to face a wrongful death (civil) lawsuit? Fernando needs to go after him in a couple of different ways at this point, if only for Miguel's benefit. That poor boy -- I think he was rendered mute after he found his mother and should be in therapy.

The Show pointedly didn't tell us who Jonathan cheated with in his moment of devastation. It has to be Lily Rabe, right? A hospital scene. Donald Sutherland and Henry were with Grace in the hospital (she was in a hospital gown, tucked under the covers and everything). Jonathan came rushing into the room very dramatically, "examined" Grace, and they had a moment. Sutherland looked on in disgust.

On another board, someone mentioned an old Harrison Ford movie called Presumed Innocent. Ford plays a lawyer whose female colleague (and sometime lover) was murdered. No murder weapon (a hammer) was found. Ford is accused of the murder but acquitted. He is at home in his shed, finds the murder weapon covered in blood and hair, his wife confesses to him. She knew about his affair. She tried to leave enough clues so that he (Ford) would be aware that she was the killer but never intended or expected him to be accused of the crime. If Grace really didn't know that Jonathan had been fired, she may have planned the killing when she knew he'd be out of town. I've complained about Kidman's breathy, ridiculous over-acting in another thread -- that may be deliberate bad acting on the character's part. I'm also not ruling out the son. He gives me the creeps. I think Donald Sutherland's character is a red herring.

Kidman's masklike face is so distracting. Her eyes and mouth are the only things that can move. I wonder if that's behind her ridiculous, breathy over-acting. "Is this because of the dead mom?" The kid is really a genius.

I haven't read the book in a minute but I don't recall courtroom scenes (which we see in the trailer). I take it this will deviate from the book quite a bit.

I'm shocked by how much I hated this. It was bloated and tedious and felt interminable. Most of the acting was terrible (Pedretti has only two facial expressions and needs to work on that). It desperately needed an editor and was a chore to finish. The only highlights were the Hannah/Owen scenes but I suspect that was due more to the actors' chemistry and acting abilities than anything else. Total disappointment. I'm actually proud of myself for even finishing it because I came very close to quitting on it. "My middle name is Flora." My eyes rolled so hard they landed somewhere on the other side of the coffee table.

This episode was so tedious.
