  1. I don’t think Bethenny can move Bryn out of state without Jason’s approval unless she won sole legal custody and it wasn’t reported on. Is Bryn still in school in the city or is she going to school in the Hamptons. I thought posters here said she had moved to a Hamptons school but maybe I’m misremembering. Bethenny also bought a house in Connecticut but I’m assuming that’s close enough to the city to be acceptable. It’s also not clear if Bethenny plans to live in the Connecticut home or if it’s another one of her failed flips.
  2. I was referring to Bethenny and Paul. Bethenny and Paul broke up earlier in the year and just recently got back together. Now they’re engaged within a few months of getting back together. My point was that typically engagements/marriages following a recent break up of the couple who is engaged don’t end well.
  3. Engagements/marriages that occur shortly after a breakup rarely end well. There’s a reason why the couple broke up in the first place and there’s no way those issues can be resolved in so short a period of time. I’m not saying there aren’t exceptions to this rule but in nearly every case the couple doesn’t make it down the aisle or if they do there’s a divorce shortly afterward.
  4. I just read this article on the NYT about a new trend in China of adult women posing in children’s clothes and posting those images to social media, and I immediately thought of Bethenny. The article discusses why this trend is absolutely damaging and unhealthy. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/18/world/asia/china-uniqlo-women-childrens-clothes.html
  5. I forgot about August as a boy name. I also like that one. January is the most uncommon of the month/season names and I almost didn’t mention it but I know of two other Januaries besides January Jones so I decided to include it. I’m assuming Brittany and Jax will choose something very country, which I’m not a fan of. Jax is egotistical enough to go with Jason Jr. but since he doesn’t even call himself Jason, I figure he doesn't like the name enough to give it to his kid. I wouldn't be surprised if they use his dad's name as a first or middle name but I won’t be surprised if they don’t since his dad’s name is Ronald.
  6. Not a fan of the name Ocean but prefer it to Hartford. Hartford makes me think of the insurance company first and the town in Connecticut second. Plus, it’s a very masculine sounding name to me so I don’t think it suits a girl. If Sheana names her daughter Summer, it will be my favorite baby name of all the Vanderpump Rules crowd (I’m assuming I’ll hate whatever name Jax and Brittany choose). I actually like the name Summer. I also like Autumn, June, and April so clearly I like season and month names. May and January are the only month/season names I don’t love but I don’t hate them either.
  7. I'm pretty sure she's wrong about the show being cancelled. If it were, why would the network, cast, and Andy try to cover it up because that's what they'd be doing. Andy recently did an interview where he talked about the show as though it hadn't been cancelled, saying they still had a good cast. Ariana and Tom claimed they didn't know Jax and Brittany were fired until they read it on some Hollywood gossip site. If they were all on a Zoom call where everyone, including the cast was notified of the cancellation as Tamra Tattles alleges, then Ariana and Tom would have already known. Charli also had that epic tweet in response to Jax being fired where she says she knows her role now and that's employed. Granted she could have been referring to her employment as a waitress at SUR but that's hardly a burn since Jax wouldn't care about that. And why would the network, if the show was cancelled, announce Jax and Brittany's exit rather than announce the show's cancellation? All signs point to the show not being cancelled. This doesn't mean it won't be cancelled before the next season if they can't make it work logistically with the pandemic. It also doesn't mean more cast members won't be let go before they start filming (if they do) as they figure out how they want to construct the show post-pandemic, with a huge time gap, and with two (potentially three) pregnancies and/or babies.
  8. I think having your ten year old daughter participate in making fun of someone else is in bad taste. If Bryn was in her teens I could see her being an active participant in the joke at Kim Kardashian’s expense but at ten she probably doesn’t even fully understand why Kim’s actions are being criticized. Plus, Bethenny is a hypocrite given her own privileged behavior. People in glass houses really shouldn’t throw stones.
  9. That’s the traditional way of thinking and a lot of people still do wait until 12 weeks. But there has been a big movement towards announcing earlier and if a miscarriage happens then talking openly about it. A lot of women feel isolated and alone when they hide their miscarriages and want to share the experience while they’re going through it or afterwards. They also think that being open about it could help others realize they’re not the only ones when it happens to them. A couple should do what is best for them. No one needs to share that experience and in that case waiting is a good idea because it minimizes the chance that they’ll have to share their story, but if a couple wants to tell people about the pregnancy earlier and doesn’t mind or wants to share if they have a miscarriage (as Scheana has already done) then that’s fine too.
  10. Doesn't Erika do this every season? I seem to remember her removing RHoBH from some social media thing the last couple years and still ended up back on the show. Other cast members of different franchises do this around contract negotiation time as well. I'll believe it once it's announced that she's gone or there is a credible leak. Just found a link to an article dated September 3, 2019 (last year) saying that she removed RHoBH from her social media profiles: https://www.yahoo.com/now/erika-jayne-removes-rhobh-social-133923720.html
  11. Alameda Unified School District’s dress code is what I think all schools should adopt: https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/amp/Alameda-schools-new-dress-code-Tube-tops-are-13167331.php And an independent school in Austin, TX: https://www.wsj.com/amp/articles/schools-relax-dress-codes-in-bid-to-end-body-shaming-11563010202 So, yes, there are schools, including public schools, who have implemented the kind of dress code I was taking about. I’m not making a judgment on whether crop tops are appropriate or not. I’m just saying the school shouldn’t be making that judgment either. Pass judgement on Bethenny for allowing it but I disagree that the school should have a say.
  12. Has there been any update on the custody arrangement between Jason and Bethenny? Last I heard the judge was going to make a ruling and then nothing. It looks like she’s outside of the city in that video of her going to school. Is Jason staying in the Hamptons too or is she doing weekends with him in the city or did he lose custody? I’m going to be the contrarian when it comes to school dress codes. I think most of them are inherently sexist and shaming of girls bodies. The justification for many of the rules is that if a girl wears “x” then it will distract the boys or make male teachers uncomfortable, which unfairly puts the blame on the girl. If a boy can’t concentrate or a male teacher is uncomfortable that’s on them except in the most extreme cases. They also unfairly target girls who have larger breasts and have cleavage in even modest tops, and girls with longer legs. I don’t think it’s the school’s job to police what kids are wearing past making sure nipples/areolas and genitals are covered by opaque material, and that students aren’t wearing offensive images or words (e.g. sexist, racist, homophobic, violent, etc.). There may be a few exceptions but they can be handled on a case to case basis. Otherwise, what a child/teen wears should be between them and their parents. That said, not insisting your child have her seatbelt on properly while driving is dangerous. Car accidents are a leading cause of death in the United States, particularly among children.
  13. Gigi has given birth to a baby girl. Congratulations to her and Zayn. https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/gigi-hadid-baby-zayn-malik-name-instagram-pregnant-b568964.html
  14. Ugh. I didn’t watch it but from the article it sounds like she has been coached by her PR team (I don’t believe for a moment she is not mad about being “cancelled” or doesn’t think she’s a victim), however, saying it wasn’t about race for her still shows her ignorance. I doubt she was actively thinking “I’ll call the cops on Faith because she’s black” but I do think her unconscious biases were at play and that does make it about race on her end, not just Faith’s. She and Kristen only believed the cops would take them seriously because they are white and the person they were calling the cops on is black. She still doesn’t get it. ETA: I've just come across a few more articles about Stassi's interview and the one posted here made her sound better than the others I've seen (I still refuse to watch the interview). She is claiming that she now gets it and can speak for Black Lives Matter. She was heavily coached by her Crisis Maneagement PR firm and this is the best they could come up with?
  15. I don’t remember Denise’s expression while Teddi spoke about the surgery but keep in mind that reaction shots, whether at the reunion or during the regular season, are sometimes edited in from earlier or later footage and are not always a reaction to what it looks to be a reaction to. They take things from earlier and later filming and splice them in to make it look like a housewife had a certain reaction when they were really listening to/reacting to something completely different. I always keep this in mind even with housewives I strongly dislike. If the person or event they’re reacting to is not in the same shot I always wonder if that’s their real reaction or if it was edited in.
  16. LVP and Ken have been trying to sell Villa Blanca for a while with no takers so it’s hardly surprising it’s not coming back. I don’t think it means anything for SUR or Pump. They may close too but the fact that Villa Blanca did doesn’t increase the odds.
  17. Huh? Comparing the government going after people for being communists or suspected communists to private companies firing reality stars because of outrage over their racist actions and statements is a false equivalency, IMO. It’s like when people scream that someone shouldn’t be fired for saying racist, sexist, or homophobic things because of “free speech”. Free speech guarantees that you can say whatever you want (with a few limitations) without fear of retribution from the government. It doesn’t say you can say whatever you want without consequences from private individuals or entities. Companies can fire someone for anything not covered by the equal protections act, and they frequently do. I don’t get why it’s perfectly okay for a network to fire someone of their own accord for racism or any other reason but if they do so because of fan outrage then it’s wrong.
  18. I think the same thing. Last month she said she and Beau were postponing their wedding until 2021. I think that either they made this decision because she was pregnant, or they made the decision because they wanted their wedding filmed and there was no way that was happening this year so she decided to get pregnant. Either way, she knew she was pregnant last month or was at least trying to get pregnant.
  19. The pregnancy announcement is 100% to gain sympathy. It doesn’t work on me but some people really do place pregnant women on a pedestal. Didn’t Stassi, Katie, Lala, and Brittany have a pregnancy pact? I wonder if any of them are pregnant or trying.
  20. I hope they cancel the show. It was going to be hard to film because of the pandemic anyway, the cast just isn’t as compelling as they once were, and I think even if they fired Jax, Brittany, and Lala, any subsequent seasons will be fruit of the poisonous tree. The past homophobic and racist behavior and statements as well as the lack of diversity will always be part of this show, and the show currently still retains some of its problematic features. There have been no announcements of senior production being fired and they’re just as culpable as any of the cast members for most of the racism and homophobia on the show and partially responsible for off show behavior by keeping it off the show, and LVP, who tacitly condoned or minimized the behavior/statements, continually supported and defended problematic cast members, and participated in the vilification of Faith by trying to blame her for Jax cheating while key cast members were harassing her, will always be attached. Bravo needs to scrap this show and in a year or so when the pandemic is past us (due to a vaccine, successful treatment, or herd immunity) start over with a new production company and a younger more diverse wait staff, at another trendy restaurant or bar, either in LA or elsewhere. This show isn’t worth saving.
  21. I think Kristen isn’t getting as much heat because a) she is less well known and has less to lose, b) this is her first strike in the racism department (Stassi has said racist things before not to mention her comments about me too, sexual assault, and domestic violence), and c) a tiny bit because Kristen’s apology sounded very slightly more sincere and she did manage to DM Faith under pressure where as Stassi hadn’t reached out at all. Jax is getting a lot of heat from fans but the network and production (including LVP) are misogynistic so they make excuses for him, and I also think they buy into the idea that he’s the most important cast member, which is why he thinks VPR is his show (along with his psychopathy which leads to an inflated sense of self worth). He reportedly makes the most money. I think that he, Stassi, and Kristen were the ones that made the show in the earlier seasons (I’d argue that Kristen was more important than Jax or Stassi during seasons two and three, which are consistently rated the highest by fans) but I don’t think that’s true of any of them anymore. I hope the network does the right thing and gets rid of him and Brittany. I don’t know that the show will be a success next season if they do fire him but Jax, Stassi, and Kristen not being on won’t be the reason it’s not. It’s been circling the drain for a while.
  22. I get the impression that Stassi's dad is upper middle class. They can afford a nice home in New Orleans and they probably took vacations and he could afford to pay for her college but I doubt he could afford a nice house in Los Angeles, let alone one in New Orleans and in Los Angeles. Stassi's mom always struck me as middle class. I don't think either of her parents can afford to pay the mortgage on her new almost 2 million dollar home. Stassi may very well have enough money saved up to make do for some amount of months but there's no way she can weather the financial hit longterm. It's not just that she had a sudden temporary loss of income, it's that her future earning potential is now significantly less than it was one week ago. It's not like she was fired from Vanderpump Rules but can fall back on her podcast, live show ticket sales, book sales, and appearance fees because all of that is gone too. She never had a shot at scripted stardom and she now doesn't have any hope of reality stardom on another show or network either, which may have been the case had she been let go for storyline reasons or because the show ended. She can certainly find another job/career but it's unlikely she will be able with her skill set and education to find something as lucrative as reality stardom and her podcast. In all likelihood, she is going to have to adjust her lifestyle accordingly unless she dumps Beau and marries someone with actual wealth.
  23. What Stassi and Kristen did (as well as what Max and Brett did) was a problem even before the recent protests. Bravo should have fired them for their behavior back when it first came out. Bravo was in the wrong for not doing it earlier. The people putting pressure on Bravo to get rid of them pushed Bravo to do the right thing, which they should have done beforehand. It’s sad that people had to put pressure on Bravo to fire them because their behavior was absolutely problematic.
  24. Brandi wasn’t let go because of her racist comments. She was fired because LVP wouldn’t film with her which is basically a storyline issue. They should have fired her for her racist remarks but they let those slide and she filmed at least one season after she made them. They let a lot of racist and homophobic comments slide but when they do decide to fire cast members for their racism (which they are very inconsistent about doing) those cast members usually stay gone. Maybe Stassi will be the exception but I doubt it.
  25. When has Bravo ever allowed someone back on the show who was fired because of racism or homophobia? Cast members do come back but usually they were fired for storyline reasons or they quit and had to come groveling back like Stassi did. When Bravo fires someone for cause they usually don’t come back. The problem is that there are many cast members that have done and said offensive things that don’t get fired.
