He's lucky to be alive. Jeopardy has a way of mentioning people in clues shortly before they die.

I have one for sale for $149.99! I did catch the rerun of espresso gal. I think you all have covered everything I'd have to say about that case. It was definitely one of my faves from last season, and I'm glad they re-aired it. I'm getting episodes from 2012 at 11 am and 11:30 am every day, so I'm seeing some cases I either haven't seen or have completely forgotten. I'm sure we've covered this before, but I'm curious about how many JJ eps air a day by location. In Southern AZ, I get four: two at 11 am and two at 6 pm. I also get two every Saturday or Sunday (not sure which day; they just show up on the DVR.)

She released a DVD set a while ago that had some of her favorite cases. Although she commented on them, I don't remember there being any follow-up information. ETA: I just looked it up on Amazon to make sure I wasn't crazy, and some fool is selling it for $150! I should put mine up there for $149.99! With so many of the episodes on Youtube, I haven't felt a need to watch my DVDs in a long time.

I grew up poor as well. I'm talking government cheese poor. I'm talking my parents never owned a home we lived in poor. I'm talking most of my clothes were hand-me-downs poor. No matter how poor we were, we were never trashy. We didn't hang out with trash, either. Those who are scraping and crawling to get out of a bad situation have my utmost sympathy, empathy, and respect. Those who would rather be a walking stereotype looking to con every person they meet and every government program available have my derision. JJ just has more of the latter, so her litigants are mostly fair game for me.

I agree, especially since he couldn't really pinpoint any egregious behavior the stepdaughter had exhibited. In her hallterview, she mentioned that when she was late it was only by a few minutes and the stepfather would lose his shit. I can't see how he would be appealing as spouse or as a parental partner.
-
I felt the same way, and I'd liked Jake up until that point. The only thing that would have been better than him ultimately losing would have been if he'd gotten that particular question wrong after making the comment he made. The current champ impressed me by coming back from such a big difference in score to win at the end. Good for him.

I would be surprised if they were playing kickball at all nowadays. When I was kid, my parents seemed less worried about my survival since they could just make another one of me. I can't imagine some of these helicopter parents - who would surround their children in bubble wrap if they weren't worried about them suffocating -would allow their kids to play kickball... especially not the way we played it where I grew up! To your second point, if lonely people with "big hearts" would focus their efforts on doing real charitable work rather than taking on some loser with a sob story who can smell a sucker a mile away, JJ would have to shorten her season considerably. So, I say, bring on the suckers!

I was fine with her the first day. Friday she annoyed me a little. Yesterday I wanted to slap her through the TV after the dance (which I hadn't seen before since I fast forward through a lot of stuff.) But I did like her attitude and that she cheered for her fellow contestants. As I said after her first episode, I can agree with everyone's opinions on her because she's annoying but can be fun. I wouldn't want to hang out with her for very long, and if I had to work with her I'd resign. But she's probably okay in small doses. And she's a smart cookie.

My siblings and I all love Rush. So they've got some black fans in the states as well.I agree that the contestant who kept saying "all right" was more annoying than Jennifer, who is also annoying. I don't think I noticed it during her first game since I was a bit tipsy, but Jennifer is a board jumper too. I hate board jumpers.
-
I thought to myself that she wasn't really bothering me, but I just knew she'd get the board going! In my defense, I had not been allowed to consume alcohol for the past 10 days due to a medication I had to take, and yesterday was the first day I could enjoy my traditional adult beverage during Jeopardy. I think my mood was light, so I gave her a bit of a pass. I'll probably hate her tonight. My only real issue with her yesterday was that her antics meant some clues didn't get revealed, and I hate when that happens. As I read everyone's posts about her, I found myself agreeing with all of you, whether you liked her or not. How is that possible?
-
I hope she did, too. But I'm not surprised JJ lost patience with her. Every time JJ asked her about the fees she tried to cite Maryland state law, even after being told JJ wasn't interested in Maryland state law. Like Byrd said to her, why didn't she just tell JJ what her damn fees were?Of course we are talking about someone who thought it was a good idea to let her friend use her bank account. Who does that? I have friends I've known since kindergarten, and I wouldn't let them use my bank account!

My dog just started eating Natural Balance based on my vet's recommendation. I think I got Van Patten based on the dog food more so than Eight is Enough since his name is still on the food when I order it from Amazon. I liked the add a consonant category. I got FJ before Alex finished reading the clue, so I was surprised two of them missed it. I was rooting for the third contestant after she did got Jeffrey Archer correct.

You can buy a policy specifically for your property in storage, and it's often cheaper than renter's insurance. Most storage facilities have insurance brochures all over the place for these types of outfits. You can also look to your renter's or homeowner's policy, but you may capped at a limit. My limit is 10 % of my contents limit on my homeowners policy. With a $300,000 contents limit at home, I would have a $30,000 limit for my crap in storage. For his equipment, I think plaintiff should have had business personal property coverage, since his equipment was for his business.

I read your post before I got around to watching the episode. I was ready to hate her since this type of contestant usually drives me crazy. However, I found her charming and found myself rooting for her. That being said, your post still cracked me the hell up. I love the visual of a contestant who has to knit or crochet at the podium just to keep her hands occupied. Too funny.

As you know, I'm in Tucson, My A/C went out the day it was 108 a couple of weeks ago. I put up with it for a night and got it repaired the next day. If it had been any longer, I'd have used one of my comps and stayed at the casino near my house. I had a mini JJ marathon this weekend and thought the rent to own trailer case was new, but I don't remember any other new episodes in the block I watched. Are we officially in rerun season? JJ airs so many times a day in my market that it's hard to keep up. Since I finally gave up on Under the Dumb and ABC couldn't be arsed to brink back Motive (one of the few summer shows I liked), I don't have much to watch during the summer. So I, like you, will watch JJ reruns, unless they're really stupid cases. We've had some classics over the past year. I wish they'd air some of them. Even better would be if they really dug into the archives and went back to her early seasons. I missed a lot of those because I was still going to school and working full-time.

Oh my goodness, yes. I don't mind when people say "same category," but then to follow it with the freaking name of the category? That made me stabby. My precalls for the blank & blank TV category were: Law & Order Parks & Rec (they ask about this show a lot) Hardcastle & McCormick Rizzoli & Isles Ren & Stimpy (and/or Beevis & Butthead)

My first car cost $500. It was a Chevy Chevette. Amazingly, it had a six cylinder engine. I don't know how I survived 1988. I sure had some fun in that car!

That was one of those rare cases which I wished Judge Judy had heard in instead. MM handled it well, but they both deserved the wrath of JJ, who would have been much nastier to them. People cheat on their taxes all the time, but to be stupid enough to go on a national TV show to sue over it is insane. If the plaintiff got burned on the deal, she should have just cut her losses and moved on. She called the cops too? Hilarious. The boyfriend was still arguing the case with jackass hallway man. He clearly still didn't understand what MM patiently explained. I feel for their children, who have two morons as parents.

Welcome down from the attic! Thanks for the explanation.

Your guess is as good as mine. I was completely confused too!

My feed cut out in the middle of yesterday's episode. What happened with the boat lift case?

I was so happy when she took the lead after her DD wager. Then she blew it on the math. I felt so bad for her! I'm bad at doing math in my head, so I really sympathize with her.

One of my favorite restaurants here in the Tucson is called The Melting Pot, and it's a fondue restaurant. It's pricey, so we only go on special occasions, but I really love it. I should get a fondue pot for my house.

I think how one phrases that depends on where the person is from. I've heard a lot of people say things like "cousin by marriage." I think how one phrases that depends on where the person is from. I've heard a lot of people say things like "cousin by marriage."

Good point. It's hard to believe I didn't even consider that a JJ litigant may have lied, especially when they were caught in so many others!
