I know. When I tell my tales of things that have happened to me, I always say I missed another chsnce to go on JJ, but I never would.I think if I had to go on a court show it'd be TPC. They seem to follow the law a little better over there. If I went on JJ it would strictly be for the lulz. I'd drink that holy water immediately! But JJ gets a lot of things wrong, and don't get me started on all the things she dismisses because she doesn't care about them.

A small part of me hoped to get a call from one of their producers when I filed the case. Alas, I missed another chance to be a JJ litigant.

What I notice from watching court cases is that most of the landlords we see on them haven't bothered to check the laws before going to court. We see a lot of landlords changing locks, turning off utilities, using physical violence, breaking into premises, etc. Conversely, tenants seem to know their rights quite well, especially when they're being threatened with eviction. It sucks when you have a tenant that is scamming, but there is no shortage of bad landlords out there, either. Cool story time: I lived in an apartment complex until 2010, when I moved into my house. After I moved out of the apartment we had the walk-through, and the property manager asked if I'd even lived there because it was immaculate. I'm a neat freak who lives alone; I don't even put holes in the walls to hang pictures! Anyway, everything went swimmingly, and they gave me a checklist indicating the apartment was in perfect condition and I would receive a refund of my security deposit within 14 days. I provided my forwarding address, and that was that. Two weeks later I still hadn't received my security deposit, so I sent a certified letter with a copy of the walk-through checklist and a request for payment. Two more weeks after that, I still hadn't heard from them. So I filed a small claims suit against them for $2,500, which was the max allowed in small claims court at the time. Per the statute, they actually owed me my security deposit plus 2 times that amount, which was slightly more than the $2,5000 max. They called once they received the notification about the suit and offered me $1,700 (double the security) to drop the case. It had just been an oversight and was an honest mistake. I would have been more than willing to do that, except they had been assholes to me two months prior when a check I sent through my bank's bill pay website didn't reach them on time. I had ordered the check 10 days before my rent was due, but the bank was apparently using the Pony Express. Even though I showed the apartment management folks that the money had come out of my bank account, they didn't care and hit me with a $50 late fee. I pleaded with them because I'd just sunk almost all of my savings into the house I was having built and was on a very tight budget. So now here they were, asking me for mercy with regard to their oversight. Needless to say, I got the full $2,500.

Someone should teach Dylan the difference between when and whenever. They aren't the same thing. I'm referring to his interview with Alex. This was an annoying game to watch. Why didn't they turn down Matt's microphone? He was way too loud. I jumped too when he gave his first answer. So did my dog! I can respect a player who starts at the bottom of the board if they know the category. I don't like it, but I can respect it. To do that and then just stare at the board is stupid.

That dance performance was....odd. I agree the dance teacher should have been paid, but why in the world didn't the defendants protest the routine before the recital? It's sad that the girl got laughed at, but they still owe the money. if what we saw was the result of a year of practice, dancing is clearly not her thing. Maybe she can sing instead. The case of the PTSD suffering veteran was strange too. If he's so worried about the cat getting out, why let the cat out of the apartment in the first place? I don't blame the defendant for being afraid. I'm a woman who also lives alone, and if someone were angrily banging on my door at 10 pm I'd be scared too.

We finally get a litigant whose grammar I can tolerate. Nadia sounds relatively intelligent. Unfortunately, she'd rather use her powers for scamming than for good. She hasn't paid rent in six months but still couldn't manage to scrape together enough to a-move? Oh, that's right. The defendant caused her to lose her job. Why she couldn't find another the world will never know, since JJ failed to ask that obvious question. Nadia needs to win a lawsuit so she can take the money and a-move. And if you believe that, the London Bridge is nearby, and I'll sell it to you. She'd have pocketed that money and spent at least another six months there. I usually cringe at JJ demanding someone move when they're in a bad situation and can't afford to do so. This episode I actually agreed with JJ. And the defendant is a moron for letting this con artist get her to agree to a year rent-free.

Pretty much the same thing happened where I am. I got the last 10 questions of double jeopardy and FJ. So I got to watch them mostly just stare at the board. I had no clue on FJ, but I probably wouldn't have wagered much for that category. The only foreign language I've studied is German, and they don't ask a lot of German language questions. I assumed it would be about something French.

It's a nod to our history. When the NAACP was founded, in the early 1900s, colored was a dignified word for African-Americans, and certainly more respectable than some of the other things black people were called back then. Also, it's my understanding that the NAACP also isn't just about black folks; it's for all people of color. I know there have been discussions about changing the name, but I think those are the main two reasons it continues. They also have name recognition as an organization that's been around so long. Anyway, I thought this was an excellent way to open the season and am glad to have new episodes of one of my favorite sitcoms.

I hate the board-jumping too, especially when it leads to missed answers. Start at the top; get comfortable with the category! One of them hit a DD on a $2,000 clue yesterday in a category that hadn't even been started. For me, it makes it less fun to play along at home. I know the reason for the strategy, but I don't enjoy games nearly as much when they're hopping all over the board.

I don't know if I'm able to have children or not, but I certainly don't want any. Dogs are certainly a lot less work and less expensive. I don't have the patience to raise kids, which I learned when I had my niece living with me for one very long year. I don't call my dog my kid because I much prefer dogs to kids, and I wouldn't want to insult my dog. LOL.

Both of those cases aired in my market on Monday. Since the show is syndicated, I guess they can run the episodes in any order they want, but I always assumed we were all getting the same new and old episodes. Interesting.

There must have been a slight breeze in the air yesterday because my satellite went out yesterday and didn't record anything. I had to reset the receiver when I got home, which was too late to catch anything. No JJ, no People's Court, no Hot Bench, no Jeopardy. If Directv didn't have the nfl contract, I'd have yanked it off the roof, I was so pissed off.It doesn't sound like I missed much, though.

Bakman is an ass. He's easily my least favorite of the three. I haven't seen this one yet, but I caught the preview last night and had a feeling it would go down that way. I always tell people to take out the name of the group they're disparaging and replace it with a more mainstream group and see if it sounds horrible. So instead of saying he's prejudiced against hypnotherapy, change it to he's prejudiced against blacks, or Jews, or Mormons, etc. In yesterday's episode he seemed to dismiss the idea that a man could be the victim of domestic violence. When the defendant yesterday said she "let" her boyfriend see his brother, it set off all kinds of red flags. The dude just looked demoralized. And Bakman didn't seem to have any sympathy for him.

Is that a new ep? I still can't tell which ones are new until I come on this board. My episode descriptions are hilariously wrong on DirecTV.

I learned the hard way never to fast forward through the hallterviews, on any court shows. Some of the best moments I've seen on court shows have been during hallterviews. Harvey and Curt are both annoying, but I'm holding onto hope that one day someone is going to slug Curt for grabbing them and rubbing a courtroom defeat in their face. And I don't want to miss it when it happens. I also like when they come out all full of rage and then walk the wrong way. They have to sheepishly turn around and go out the correct exit. I laugh every freaking time. Clearly MM was feeling shitty so it put her in a bad mood. She seemed crankier than usual. She was definitely in no mood for scammers with no evidence looking for a big payday.
-
Exactly. She was right, up until she made a federal case out of it and then did $2K worth of damage in retaliation for $50 worth of accidental damage. Incidentally, she shouldn't have gotten $50 anyway. She should have gotten the value of the jeans at the time of the loss! I will use my extensive thrift shop experience to assess the value of her used stank-ass pants at fo dollars and fiddy cent (pronounced like the average JJ litigant).

I had a boss whose grammar was otherwise fine, but she could not understand reflexive pronouns. Every freaking email or letter included, "If you have any questions, please contact teebax or myself." God, I hated that woman - not for that but she was such an asshole, too. The only thing worse than an asshole is an asshole with shitty grammar. Did you catch the $50 pants chick's hallterview? She made some comment about how hard it is for pretty women. Bitch, how the hell would you know, you horse-faced drama queen with a shitty attitude? As I said to my ex when she was being unreasonably dramatic over some bullshit, "You're not nearly attractive enough to be so nasty. Keep it up and you'll be sleeping alone." She did, and now she is. Well, maybe she isn't, but she's not my problem anymore. There are too many sane women out there for me to be wasting my time with a crazy one who is always a temper tantrum away from keying my car. I don't know if pants chick's fiancé is also a jerk, but if he's not he should run, not walk, away from her. Can you imagine spending your whole night listening to her bitch and moan about her stupid pants? I'm surprised he didn't offer to replace the pants just to shut her up. By the way, If it's so easy to get the $50 you were demanding, why don't you just replace your own pants? I loved when JJ pointed out that most of us work hard for our money. She clearly wasn't referring to her average litigant, but it's nice to know JJ realizes there are many of us who work hard.

Next someone will try to tell her that boys can wear pink and girls can wear blue. That'll really make her head explode.

I haven't seen today's yet, but we had one litigant recently who was giving Curt a lot of lip. It may have been the taxi cab plaintiff, but it was definitely one of this week's episodes. I remember I didn't care for the litigant, but I did like when she basically told Curt to f off.

I live alone, and I have a Windows desktop, and iPad air, an Android tab, an Asus Transformer, a Windows Tab, and a Galaxy Note Edge smart phone. I'm far from a geek. Like you said, I use different devices for different things. JJ will never be able to understand the tech cases, so her producers should stop bringing them on the show. The litigants always get short shrift. I remember a case a few years ago in which a woman was suing to get back her PlayStation from her ex-boyfriend, who'd taken it when he moved out. JJ dismissed her case because females don't play video games, so she obviously had bought it as a gift for her boyfriend. Does anyone else remember that one? I don't even play video games, and I was livid with JJ about that comment. Way to enforce gender roles and stereotypes.

The episode descriptions in my on-screen guide are not matching the episodes that are airing. Therefore, when I had my DVR set to tape new episodes only, it was actually taping old ones. So I changed it to record all episodes. I'm getting four a day, but they rarely match the descriptions. This was also a problem last year when new episodes starting airing. They got it straightened out after a few weeks.

I'd never seen Henry's case before either. I felt like I needed a shower after watching it. I guess 64 does go into 22. A little age difference isn't a big deal, but what the hell would the two of them talk about? I have a coworker who is 22. We did happy hour a couple of times, and we had nothing in common. I get that he's not with her for witty conversation, but what do they do the other 23 hours and 58 minutes of the day?
-
I'd never heard of that breakfast,so her answer really confused me.I found her annoying. I didn't get FJ, but I slapped my forehead when the answer was revealed. How did I forget that already? I was thinking of the Three Six Mafia song, but thought the year was too early for it to be right.

Dude has serial killer written all over him. I don't know how any of his tenants even lasted one night. I'd have been terrified to go to sleep in that house.
