As a grandmother, I did enjoy this episode. But I was hoping at the ultrasound they would inexplicably discover she really wasn't pregnant , not liking that storyline.

I know Carol Burnette is a "tripleThreat" but IMO she is definitely weakest at singing and Frankie Valli is a famous Singer, period. Wonder if that was the only way she would appear on the show? ( not the biggest CB fan here.....)

Why in the world didnt Frankie Valli sing instead of Carol Burnett. Seriously!

Love Val and Janel is growing on me, thought they were the best of the night! Hoping the final 3 will be Janel, Sadie and Alphonso! I think Bethany is way overrated by the judges, they are judging Derek IMO. I'm with Len, I thought Max was going to mess up Val and Janel! I laughed when Val said Max said the same thing! Alphonso will get alot of sympathy votes which I'm okay with since he definitely deserves to be in the finals. Val for the win!

I'm enjoying this season a lot more than last season!

Best trio ever-- Donld Driver 's jive with PETA and Karina!!! Speaking of Karina, where was she last night, and Cheryl? At least Tony was there for us old school DWTS fans......

Liked how the scientists enthusiastically applauded after the opera performance! They really are "sweet" scientists. And they didn't whine or get mad about missing the art challenge - which I think they would have rocked- I agree it was a huge disadvantage to Maya to have to do the car race alone. She knocked off a ton of seconds when racing with others. But it helped them that it was a mostly taxi driven episode so they didn't have to rely on their navigation skills which is their Achilles Heel.

I did find this episode entertaining especially "not in front of the kids" jokes. But either give all the people Boston accents or ( preferably ) none of them! The Mcintrye guy really overdoes it ,he's channeling someone, can't place it. But I think Sheldon's mom is great!

Best dance of the night---- Cheryl and Tony's Argentine Tango!!! Len, why no comment on all the "messing around" in Derek's dance? Are the judges judging Derek or Bethany, because I don't think she is anything special. Like Alphonso, but was a little disappointed tonight, no much hip movement from him in their cha cha. Tonight felt so scripted especially mark and Derek's tie. Personally I preferred Sadie.

I heard the mom/daughter team say they should have kept fighting also..... Found it interesting that the scientists genuinely felt sorry when the saw how lost mom/daughter were while the wrestlers started cheering , tho at the time they thought they were last , so semi-pass, but they did seem a bit obnoxious. Count me among those loving this season after that horrendous fiasco that was Dave and Conner and "friends' last time!!

IMO the best Halloween dance ever was Cheryl and Emmitt Smith's rumba to Spooky in Season 3. Boy could he move his hips. Check it out on YouTube if you're never seen it , even if you're not a rumba fan. ( and no Troupe or "messing around")

Thanks. I guess I was thinking of Val and Zendaya"s Argentine Tango which also could be a bit tricky with a teen, but I thought Val was perfect with Zendaya! (Wish they had won....)

It just killed me when they praised Derek for doing a straight tango with no goofing around !! He's the King of "non ballroom ballroom" and he gets kudos when alot of the other stars always do the pure dance ! I also thought their tango had absolutely no passion and am surprised no judge mentioned it....tho the ridiculous music might have been part of the reason. Correct me if I'm wrong but didnt Val and Zendaya also do a wonderful and very age appropriate rumba? I do like Sadi and Mark's partnership . Wish Michael or Tommy had gone home instead! Enough with the guest judges who know nothing about ballroom dancing!!!

Producers, next week can we please have a pro opening number with couples doing the Viennese Waltz or a Paso or Fox Trot, you know, a couple dance, just anything but the same o same o we keep getting week after week!!! Mix it up!!!

I used to love this show and now barely recognize it!! I don't think SYTYCD gets very high ratings, so why are they copying it? I want ballroom, I hate Bollywood, Burlesque ( are you kidding me), contempory , etc...... The partner switch up is stupid, I don't think it's fair to the pros. Are we never going to see another waltz? I think a beautiful waltz is far more sexy than a raunchy Burlesque! I thought Alphonso and Cheryl's dance was by far the best of the night, so underscored! Of course Derek got the highest scores ! Why did PETA put all those lifts in when he had so much trouble with them? Oh yeah, I hate lifts until the freestyle ( except in the Argentine Tango and Vienese Waltz).

. I will forever hate Drew Carey for how he treated Cheryl. What an A$$!

I really think Val's dancing and choreography is on par with Derek's but Val totally outshines Derek in bringing the sexy ( Derek has never been sexy to me unlike Gene Kelly wow!). And Val always is connecting with his partner thru out the dance whereas no matter who Derek's partner is, I always just see 2 people who happen to be dancing at the same time. I totally agree with everyone who finds Derek's dances cold, Val's are on fire! Cheryl does this well also IMO .

Thought using science was a great idea by Howard ( should have been the infamous "arm"), so VERY disappointed they made it fail!!!

How is Michael still there?? Sorry to see Karina and Randy go. Scoring was really crazy tonight. Thought Cheryl and Antonio 7's were low compared to some of the others.

If they're not bringing Louis Van Amstel back as a pro or judge, please oh please let him choreograph!! Remember he and Cheryl dancing to Barry Manilow and Copacabanna ?? If not, YouTube it, it's spectacular!! And all his group choreography was wonderful !

The dances were all so short!! They needed the time given to allow 4 judges to basically parrot each other. They don't need 4 judges!

Two rants: totally not impressed with Mandy Moore"s group numbers , all shakey, Beyonce type .....what happened to ballroom?? Anyone remember the beautiful pro number to Taylor Swift Romeo and Juliet, beautiful and sexual! I think it was. Waltz? Bring back Ballroom and beautiful flowing gowns!! Rant 2: wanted to barff when we could "choose'" which pro's audition to show! Show all of them for Pete's sake!!! One a week if you have to! i really wanted to see Cheryls! ( not that I considered voting) Of course it was going to be Derek!!! Of course this is Dancing with Derek Hough! And Best First Night Dance-----Drew Lachey, She Bangs or Giles Marini. With Emmett Smith a close second . And these guys weren't ringers!

I was hoping Val would help Max choreograph a great ballroom routine. I've never liked contemporary on this show tho their's was nice. I also hate all the big production numbers. I want to see an intimate ballroom / Latin dance between 2 people, nothing is sexier than that! Meryl and Max for the win!! ( anyone but Derek)

Why does everyone say "I'd like Alex to win or be in the final , but don't think he will". If they all like him then shouldn't that mean he will be in the final? He is the only one I'm invested in. I fast forward Caleb and his screaming and have never gotten Jena. Keith's "parrot breath" comment goes back to something Ellen DG made him say, just wish he hasn't done it in the middle of his critic of Alex. I think Harry really likes and respects Alex, Keith- Jena and JLo Caleb. Alex for the win!! No comments on the castoff s shout out to the Hunger Games?? They did the MockingJay call and then the revolution's hand gesture, or did I misinterpret that?

Totally agree about Mark! I actually like him alot this season!! You mean Derek "the Legend"?? Gag, barf, puke!
