  1. I don't really know why I'm still watching this show. I guess it's entertaining enough, but I'm not all that intrigued by either mystery and most of the characters I don't like. And it's not like there isn't other stuff to entertain in its timeslot. But the show isn't completely horrible, so I'll stick with it. The ending twist was clever, but I wasn't blindsided by it/ I thought Annalise calling Sam to apologize was pathetic. But there was some point during the speech where I thought it could be possible that she's not so pathetic and she's trying to set up some kind of alibi and wondered if she actually knew already that Sam was dead. I hadn't figured out how, but there were a couple of moments with Annalise that just seemed off. Exactly. I know that they tried to cover up with the whole felony murder excuse, but it just didn't fly. Connor, and to some extent Laurel, really did nothing wrong and could have gotten out of it easily. I didn't find the love scene between Nate and Annalise hot. I know it seems crazy but I'm not all that impressed with Billy Brown's body. I thought the directing was too chaotic. I know it was supposed to be a passionate scene, but it didn't work for me. I wasn't into the O faces Viola Davis was making. Plus, didn't Nate tell Annalise some woman (I'm assuming his wife) was in the hospital. So if they were knocking boots while his wife is hospitalized, that's even sketchier. I'm officially done with Wes and Rebecca. Now that we know everything that happened, I wholeheartedly agree with Michaela that Rebecca is the one that got them into this. I don't know what the hell she was thinking trying to get Sam's computer then. It could have waited and there were better times to try and do it. I was hoping that by the time we caught up to the time of Sam's murder, Rebecaa and Wes' relationship would be better developed, especially why Wes is so obsessed with her. But, nope, other than a couple of scenes, I still don't buy their relationship. I especially don't buy Rebecca saying things like she'll kill herself if Wes gets in trouble. Now that we know Annalise most likely put Wes up to the idea of getting rid of Sam's body, his coin flip manipulation is a little less sketchy. But I still don't like him. I don't have trouble buying Alfred Enoch's American accent, but I still really, really hate the sound of his voice. His character's development is so much worse than the rest of the other students. That excuse would have made more sense. Unless he's planning on using the lie later to try and get sympathy points with Oliver.
  2. I loved that moment! And also her expression and tone after Michael started going off on Kiki again and Anna said "okay" and Michael was like "Okay?!" Anna kind of backed away and had this tone "Okay, simmer down." This is probably Ava's dumbest move yet. How long does she actually think she can keep Silas in isolation and from finding out what she's really running from? What's she going to do when Kiki just randomly shows up there? While telling the truth is great, I think TJ had a point with the "What's the point in telling me this?" I liked that they cleared up the whether Sean is TJ's father thing. At least I hoped they cleared it up. I was wary of the look on Jordan's face as Sean talked about TJ's father (did he have a name other than TJ's father?) having the peace of mind in knowing that he was truly TJ's dad. I LOVED that judge denying Carly bail. God, how I wish Michael had overheard her telling Sonny she would do it all again for him. Yeah, mother of the year that one. She really cares about the damage she did to her kid. And, of course, the first time Carly even mentions Joss is after she's been denied bail, so she could act like some poor put upon mother 'What'll happen to Joss?' Hopefully she'd be raised by her decent father. Shut up, Bobbie! Shut up, shut up! Carly is guilty as sin and she's railing at Scott because he had the audacity to do his job. LOL at Michael calling Morgan a braintrust and pointed out that Ava obviously wasn't there after Morgan acted shocked that Ava was missing.
  3. *shrug* She didn't throw in with Sonny. She and Morgan decided to withhold the truth for their own reasons. Obviously, Mike rightfully dumping her has put her in a bad mood, but given your assertion that the only reason she's mad that her mother ruthlessly murdered an innocent, unarmed woman is because she had to get a job, wouldn't she be kissing up to her well off mother, instead of justifiably yelling at her homicidal ass? And if she were still with Michael and found out about what Ava did, she'd still be disturbed by this revelation, probably even more so.
  4. She didn't think it was perfectly acceptable. Maybe you missed the episode, but after she found out about what Sonny did, she was very snotty to Sonny the next time she saw him and was giving him dirty looks. I can't remember how it was brought up, but she and Michael ended up talking about Sonny and Kiki basically had no reason to be loyal to Sonny. She didn't yell at Sonny about it because A) he's not her parent and B) she stupidly decided that it was best that Michael not know about it, not because she thought murder was totes okay, but she because she took it upon herself to decided what Michael should know and wanted to preserve Michael's relationship with his remaining father. Obviously that was still on her mind, but the bulk of her tirade was about Ava's shooting an unarmed woman. She didn't bring up the break-up until the end.
  5. Eh, I actually think it's nice that the default setting for someone in this town isn't "You killed someone. Eh, I guess you had your reasons." I don't care if people didn't like Connie and are glad she's dead. Everything Kiki said to her mom was the absolute truth. Ava gunned down an innocent woman, for basically no reason, and Ava's only real response is "I know it was wrong." You didn't cheat on your taxes, lady, you killed someone and let them choke on their own blood. Kiki told Morgan that she still loves her mom and was very reassuring to her after the baby was kidnapped, but I think she has a right to call out her mom for being a murderer. I mean, yeah, I don't love Kiki and all, but it boggles my mind that people are more upset about her being a moocher or saying a couple of nice things about Franco, than that Ava's a cold-blooded killer. And I don't think that Kiki knowing her mother's in the mob makes that much difference. She didn't grow up around the violence the way Michael and Morgan have. I think she was aware that her mom was capable of shitty behavior, but not something like that.
  6. I don't think she was all that good at it. I thought both lifts were hell awkward getting in to it, and even worse getting out of it.
  7. Glad Tommy went out on a high note. Given some of the comments the judges were giving him (like how he should be so proud of what he achieved) I knew he was definitely going home, and it was definitely time, but it was good to see him go out with a nice performance like the one for the Rumba. When Alfonso started to cry, I almost lost it. I could barely watch his second dance because I was so worried about something happening. Seriously his determination really kind of motivated me to think twice before whining and to make more of an effort to get shit done. I haven't voted at all this season, and not for awhile with this show, but all my votes went to Alfonso tonight. I thought it was so sweet that he's still so close to so many of his old cast members - not just the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air but that he and Ricky still support each other.Schroeder. Maybe I'm just as big of a fuddy duddy as Len, but I just was not having it with most of the props used tonight, especially the frame in Derek and Bethany's dance and the guitar in Mark and Sadie's. During Mark and Sadie's I just kept wondering why it was there. I call total bullshit on Janel getting two ten's on that last dance. As Carrie-Ann of all people pointed out, the lifts were completely ungraceful. Everyone of them sucked and there were a few stumbles. In fact, at one point I actually shouted at the screen, which I haven't done in awhile for this show, that I dared them not to notice the mistakes and of course Len and Julianne acted like it was a flawless performance.
  8. I missed the last fifteen or so minutes of the first hour because of something wonky with my cable, so there was important stuff I missed like Snow and Charming talking about Emma giving up her powers, but from what I did see of the episode, I was mostly just kind of bored with it. There were elements to the episode that I liked, but it felt like it was just a padded episode that didn't really need to be two hours and didn't really use the time wisely. I actually kind of like that Snow and Charming were willing to respect Emma's choice to give up her magic. I didn't want Emma to give it up and definitely not when she was making the decision mostly out of fear. But if there ever came a time that she truly didn't want them, I would hope that her parents and everyone else would respect her choices. I also liked that it basically contradicted those that claim Snow and Charming only love him for her powers and because she's the Savior. If all they cared about was Emma's magic their initial reaction would have been much different. That being said I'm glad, not that it was stupid Regina that showed them the light, that they decided to go after her and that Elsa, who understand this situation better than anyone, was able to talk Emma down. I am loving the relationship between those two. If anything I was just so thankful it wasn't Emma's new bestie Regina that saved the day. The crypt sex was gross for all the reasons others have mentioned. Robin though is more and pore proving himself worthy of someone like Regina. It's not just that they had sex in a crypt near his frozen wife's heart, but that Robin looked like he didn't have a care in the world. No sign at all of any kind of guilty conscience. Nope just let's just stay a little longer and prolong this unholy booty call. And some great parent Robin is. He was freakin there all night with no mention of his son. Then the asshole actually wants to bring his mistress over to where he lives the next morning, which is where I assume Roland must have been. I know David would never hit a woman, but I wanted him, or actually preferably I would have liked the honors of reaching through the screen and throttling Regina when she showed up at the house, and after Charming mentioned that they had been calling her all night, she had the nerve to get huffy over it and practically rip his head off and demand a thank you for the locator potion. Fuck you, lady. Sorry, everyone was trying to contact you over important developments concerning your son while you were off fucking one of your countless victim's husbands. Though David kind of did get back at her with that epic burn about her countless string of victims. The thing I loved the most about that moment was there was no shot of David looking regretful about it afterward or apologizing. Thank God he does not have his head up Regina's ass and has not forgotten what she's done, unlike his wife and daughter. Of course Regina's only reaction to his comment is a bitchy side eye because how dare anyone remind her of her disgusting evil deeds. I think I was madder about Snow's blase attitude over Robin and Regina's night than about anything she did last week. I know they tried to counter that by having Snow mention that she's slept with a married man, too but it didn't work since I'm pretty sure Snow felt guilty for that and that married man she was sleeping with was actually her own damn husband, and the only reason she didn't know that was because of the woman she was giving a pep talk, too. Of course Regina should feel ashamed about it. As much as I hated Snow giving Regina said pep talk, I didn't mind that she was doing it while they were tracking Emma. It's not like they stopped to gab over coffee. everyone was just walking and looking for Emma. You could see that while talking to Regina Snow was still trying to track Emma's movement. There is such a thing as multi-tasking. And I'm not going to blame Snow because she talks more with Regina about her love life than Emma's. That's on the writer for writing more Snow/Regina scenes than Snow/Emma ones. The turnaround to Rumple being a stone cold villain is kind of fast, but I do prefer this than them dithering around and doing as horrible a job of redeeming him as they've done with Regina. Plus, it's not like this is out of character since this is a guy that tried to kill his own grandson. Snow Queen is definitely twisted, but Elizabeth Mitchell is excellent in this role and I can really see rooting for her to be redeemed. I have no problem with Will Scarlett. He's kind of fun. But he seems kind of like a carbon copy of Hook and given this show can barely use the characters they have, it seems pointless to have brought him over.
  9. I don't think it is comparable. To me that's like saying every murder committed is exactly the same. The reasons and circumstances behind someone's actions can make a difference. I'm pretty sure Liz and Lucky weren't engaged when Lucky and Sarah happened. Also, I think (though not 100% on this) Lucky and Sarah was not the prolonged nasty affair that Liz and Nik were. Plus, two wrongs don't make a right. Just because Lucky slept with her sister does not mean Liz get an affair with your brother free card. LOL, I loved that! I especially loved that it almost seemed like Chad paused slightly and was thinking "Remember it's supposedly, not supposably" and then deliberately stressed the right pronunciation. I had no problem with how Michael treated Kiki today. He has every right to be pissed with Kiki. He already broke up with her and then she just makes herself at home and waltzes into his bedroom and then refuses to leave. She got what she deserved. I think Rosalie does have a right to be a little ticked that he used her like that, but she had enough good sense to get the hell out of dodge despite what Michael said. I also don't see why Michael's so terrible for accepting what Rosalie did, regarding revealing Ava's location to Madeline. Michael's already lost almost everyone he cares about, and is now striking up this new friendship. I don't think he wants to push her away unless he absolutely had to. And considering how almost everyone in his life has lied to him recently, I think he values honesty above all else right now. That Rosalie admitted what she did, even though she didn't have to went a long way with him, that and that she was truly remorseful. I think it was actually nice of Michael that he wasn't judgmental and tried to be understanding. I can't wait to see Michael with Sonny and Carly on Monday. I fully expect him to have a few moments where it seems like he's wavering. These are the people who raised him. It's not easy to go cold turkey and just not feel any emotion toward them. But I think overall, he's going to be as cold to them, and probably more, than he was with Kiki. I'm kind of torn on this. On the one had, I really agree that Steve Burton sucked for a lot of years on GH and Jason mostly lacking a personality sucked. I have no problem with BM injecting this version of Jason with some light-hearted angles. On the other hand, I hate, hate, hate this cutesy bullshit Jake/Liz stuff and, unfortunately, Liz's smug bitchface is rubbing off on Jake and they just seem like two smug, immature assholes together. The Liz/Jason picture, with the heightened ridiculousness of it looking like a magazine promo shot, just upped Liz's pathetic streak. Ugh, God I hate Carly. Even Sonny, even though I think he mostly does it to score points/out of self-pity, can sometimes admit when he's wrong, but not Carly. She can never she just plain admit when she's fucked up without trying to blame someone else or act like there were mitigating factors out of her control.
  10. So much this! God, I smiled from ear to ear watching this episode. I adored that the boys just bantered and fought together and bonded. That is the dynamic between the two that I really miss. I adored Sam's inner geek coming out and how proud he was that he did theater and then Dean taking the piss by reminding him that he only did the tech. And then seeing Sam trying to tell the stage manager about it proudly only for her to dismiss him, too. I loved Sam trying to work out what to properly call Dean and Castiel and Dean just getting more annoyed by it. You could just tell that the actors all had a ball working on this and it did truly feel like a show that was a love letter to the fans. Dean's line about having your version and I have mine was really sweet, and not something that most shows would acknowledge. The reaction shots from Sam and Dean when they saw what was happening - I haven't laughed that hard watching this show in a long time. I loved Dean's frustration with it. It was great that he was annoyed that it was happening, but if it was going to happen, he wanted them to get everything right. Sam's reaction was perfect, too. He was just as weirded out by everything as Dean, but his geeky side found it mostly fun, and I think if they'd given him the opportunity he'd have worked that tech board himself. I definitely think my favorite reaction was Dean's when he realized he'd called a teenage girl a bitch. The songs were part cringeworthy, but mostly really catchy and fun. All of the singers sounded great. I've definitely had "A Single Man Tear" running in and out of my head all day. It really did feel like an episode that was getting back to the basics of the show and the direction I really want the show to go in. I mean angst is fine. This show will never be one that stops overdosing on angst, but I want more light-hearted stories and moments to balance it out. And I definitely want to get a sense of the brothers really loving each other, and not in a co-dependent way, and having fun together every now and again. The need for constant secrets and "break-ups" is so old and overdone. I noticed that right away and have to assume it wasn't a coincidence, especially since she was as much of a perfectionist as Max was.
  11. The runaway bride thing was freakin years and years ago. Quite frankly I think Alexis has a bigger grievance against him considering he tried to steal her child, but again that was years and years ago. They've forgiven each other and managed to forge a friendship. I'm no Nexis fan, and never have been, but couples have gotten together/reunited having far worse water under the bridge. Plus, like ulkis pointed out it's not like Ned is pursuing her as pathetically as Ric pursued Liz this year (talk about a couple with far worse past sins to get over.) Alexis was upfront with Ned and basically said "I'm trying to get over someone. Want to help?" And Ned was like "Eh, nothing better to do I suppose." Neither are in this for love. I think Ned is so gung ho in fighting Julian because he tends to hate most mob guys on this show, so he hates him on general principle. Ugh, Liz go away! I see absolutely nothing between BH and BM and their "cutesy" banter is just annoying. Liz is written so pathetically now. She has no other patients and is trying to move some stranger into her home. It's so sad that Jason was the one who had to point out how odd the idea of moving a stranger near her boys. And Liz really needs to look up what the word stranger means. Sam pointed out that Danny doesn't know about stranger danger yet and Liz actually stupidly says that because Danny clinged to Jason's hand once that means he's not a stranger. I thought that BM and KM did have some chemistry together and I liked the way she played the scenes. As much as I hate Sonny, I like that Michael didn't shoot him and that Dante got through to him. I loved that Sonny had to stand there and listen to Dante insult him and beg Michael not to turn into Sonny. Morgan can just have a seat and shut the fuck up trying to pin everything on Ava and excuse Sonny. Ava is no innocent in this, but like Michael pointed out, she really just gave Sonny the excuse he needed to kill AJ.
  12. Mileages definitely vary. I had a totally different interpretation of Snow's reaction in that scene. I didn't think she was acting offended and hurt. After Ashley made the comment about first time mothers and Emma got weird about it, Snow bent over backwards to reassure Emma that she didn't see herself as a first time mother. Then Emma did her usual Wall of Gibraltar act like nothing is bothering her and tried to laugh it off, which I don't think Snow was buying at all.
  13. IA about both points. I'm not on the "death to Snow" bandwagon. I don't like it when they do BS like making Snow having a black spot on her heart for protecting her family, but I like that despite their reputations, neither David or Snow are perfect. They are allowed to make mistakes, doesn't make them the devil. My only problems with Snow this episode were her lumping in David with her at the end and her yelling at Emma in a scolding manner after the lamp post incident. But I can't really blame her for not wanting to hand Neal over to Emma after Emma made the bottle freakin boil and wasn't even aware of it. That actually is something to be concerned about. I think she was definitely wary after that but probably still let Emma baby-sit. While the yelling at Emma later and lumping in David with her faulty parenting later sucked, at least Snow looked immediately guilty after yelling at Emma and expressed guilt for how she acted at the end. Snow realized she fucked up as sometimes parents do. I like that there's some conflict between Emma and her parents, and there are real issues between them, but I don't think it's true at all that either David or Snow don't care about Emma. I complained about this a couple of episodes back, but it seems as if once the writers realized they needed to start working on David and Emma's relationship, they completely abandoned Emma and Snow's relationship. It hasn't been developed well at all lately, but that doesn't correlate to Snow not caring for Emma. I still hate Regina more than Robin. He's definitely being a douche, but until he's raped and murdered a bunch of people he would still have a ways to go to climb up to Regina's abhorrent levels. In a way Regina's kind of getting the guy she deserves. I like Ingrid and she does feel genuinely sympathetic, unlike Regina. If they wanted to redeem her I wouldn't mind.
  14. I'm not a prude. I watch porn, for God's sake, but Fitz went on about kissing Olivia so she can taste herself I literally recoiled. Gross, gross, gross. And then Olivia started touching her boob - come on! Jesus! I've never been all in for the Olitz ship. I've always thought they had chemistry, but I never actively rooted for them, but now I just actively dislike them. They're written, at this point, with less class than a Skinemax flick. And, good Lord, this is supposed to be the freakin' President of the United States, and he's panting after his mistress like a lovesick schoolboy all because she simply said there was hope for them. This couple, this man, is just pathetic! I've definitely reached my limit with the speeches. I think Joe Morton is wonderful, but it is ridiculous that one freakin' episode can't go by without a speech from him. And then they decided to beat Tom with the monologue stick, and all of a sudden he starts droning on. Great performance, but could not have felt more scripted if Tom had pulled out a manuscript and read it on-screen.
  15. Shut up, Mark! *sigh* I actually have not been too annoyed by Mark for at least a season now, but this season he's annoying the heck out of me with his constant complaints about the judges' scoring. One of my biggest pet peeves on this show is when a dancer gets correctly called out for not doing the dance they were assigned and then coming up with some pretentious half-assed explanation that they're doing it for the fans. And 7 times out of ten the person who uses that excuse is Mark. Sometimes Derek uses it and I think Maks has before, but more often it's Mark. Look, douche you can do a proper dance and entertain the audience. I mean I've never really watched much competitive dance beyond this show, but I can imagine people can actually do the dance they're assigned and still make it enjoyable to watch as long as they're not being lazy. And beyond the fact that Sadie's dance was barely a paso, I think Len or maybe it was Carrie Ann was right that the whole scared woman persona didn't work with this dance. There were so many times during the dance that I thought Sadie looked shaky and confused, and I wasn't sure if that was the "character" or Sadie. I agree with this. Often the judges give no indication that there was anything wrong with the dance but still bust out 8 or 9 paddles. I knew Alfonso was getting nines because of the comments, and I actually don't think he was underscored. Though maybe that's just because I've never loved a rumba on this show. It might be technically great, but I never connect with that dance. I did LMAO when Whitney hit Alfonso in the crotch and asked him if he needed a snack and winced at the camera. She's really cute. I did think Bethany was overscored. There was no way that was a perfect dance and I'm tired of Derek covering up his dances with props and lots of spectacle and distractions. I wish they would nitpick Bethany,a dn point out the areas she needs work, and she does need work, as much as they nitpick Alfonso and Lea. I loved Len's tirade about all the messing about and overuse of the troupe and people not doing their assigned dances. It's ridiculous and I'm about as fed up with it as him. I don't know if four judges just isn't working, but they definitely need to find a way to make adjustments. Earlier in the season, I don't remember the judges getting cut off quite as often, but now almost every dance one of the judges can't comment. Which doesn't make sense to me with fewer and fewer dancers. And you can tell none of them are particularly happy about it, when they have to give short comments while displaying the paddle. They either need to give a time limit for each judge, and have Tom getting more merciless when Bruno or Carrie Ann start in with their antics or repeating themselves over and over. Or they could just cut down on the interviews with Erin, which are always my least favorite part of the show. Of course Derek's team wins again. I don't think the judges are even trying anymore to hide their bias.
  16. I almost fell into a rage coma with that line. Where does Regina get the gall to act as if she's some put upon friend who gives and gives and is just so unappreciated by everyone around her. I mean how dare Emma save someone's life without checking with Regina first. As others have said, as much as Regina's crap enraged me, I think I was more pissed off/saddened by Emma just sitting back and taking it. As thuganomics85 pointed out that this is so much like Snow going down some ridiculous shame spiral because she killed Cora. I couldn't believe how upset and conflicted Emma looked as Regina ranted and raved about how Emma did her wrong and ruined her life because she saved someone's life! I found myself thinking what happened to the woman from season 1 who would have bitchslapped Regina to hell and back for daring to talk like that to her and with such bassackwards logic to boot. It just freaking kills me that we're actually expected to feel sorry for Regina and really think that Emma has done something that she needs to atone for, with no hint that the writers have any awareness of how fucked up that is. I felt so sickened and bewildered as Regina told Emma off one last time and stomped off and Emma actually looked saddened and like she'd lost something valuable. These two were not that close. They were not friends and they shouldn't be friends. On the one hand, I can sort of appreciate that they tried to justify, or give some motivation, for Emma wanting this friendship because she understands Regina and that they've both been rejected and misunderstood. But that still annoyed me because Regina is not freaking misunderstood. Did we misunderstand her killing her own father to enact a curse which resulted in Emma having a lonely, miserable childhood? Did we misunderstand her sending children to their certain deaths? Did we misunderstand her crushing a man's heart with her bare hand? Regina is not misunderstood and the show needs to stop trying to sell that crap. Having Emma or Snow bend over backwards to apologize to Regina and beg for her friendship does not make me root for those friendships. It does not make me like Regina. It does, unfortunately, make me lose a little respect for Emma and Snow. The actress who played Lilith really sold her desperation and sadness. What she did was bad, but lying is not an unforgivable sin. I didn't begrudge Emma feeling hurt and betrayed, but I wished she had at least taken the paper, even if she never looked at it. I felt bad for both girls. And in now way do Lilith and Regina's sins correlate, so them trying their best to parallel those storyline didn't work for me on that level either. I thought the Snowing plotline was cute. I can take that kind of filler because I've complained in the past about this show being plot, plot, plot and never letting characters have room to breathe, so I like that they're dealing with the repercussions of Snow fearing being separated from Neal (thanks to BFF extraordinaire Regina.) I also LMAO when Charming mentioned Asgard. I like the way Elizabeth Mitchell is playing the Snow Queen. She's so creepy and quietly menacing and it's really working. The twist with her being Emma's "foster mother" didn't surprise me but I like that it's out there already. I loved Sidney getting one over on Regina. I hope his sick obsession with her is over.
  17. I was just thinking that watching this episode. I don't want to complain partly because I know with these writers you'd complain and they'd Regina the situation and turn it around on us - "Damn them, they said they wanted more Emma/David scenes and now they're complaining?! How dare they want equally balanced familial relationships!" I mean I love, love, love that we're finally getting meaningful scenes between David and Emma and I love that relationship. But I also loved her relationship with Snow; just because she's spending time with one doesn't mean she should never have scenes with the other. Could basically quote your whole post. Other than the usual Regina crap (and Emma/Hook which I'm not a fan of but can deal with at this point) I'm really enjoying this season (well minus episode 1 because of the aforementioned Regina crap.) THIS! Ugh, it's so enraging! Though of course only an idiot teenager like Henry would actually think Regina's plan makes a lick of sense. The book was just reporting the facts. It didn't get Regina wrong. I also want to echo someone else's post from earlier that seeing Snow dealing with the trauma of being separated from Emma as a baby, so much so that she can't even let David hold their son, and Emma bringing up the pain of losing Graham, highlights for me how wrong the Regina/Snow, Regina/Emma friendships are. I will never buy Regina's redemption. But in general I can see a redemption of her working in that she could do good things and not always be a villain. But I don't think I can ever buy Snow or Emma getting past what Regina did to them to be anything but politely cordial to Regina. Not this crap where they give Regina pep talks and root for her and devote time to making sure Regina gets a happy ending. It rings so horribly false. Never saw OUAT in Wonderland, but I liked this Will guy. I liked the accent and the attitude and in their brief scene, I saw more chemistry with Emma and Will than I've ever seen with Emma/Hook. I'm digging the Snow Queen so far and really wondering about her connection to Emma.
  18. I'm not so sure about that. I think Derek might be Len's favorite. Sometimes that results in him being extra hard on him if he does something he doesn't like. But sometimes I think Len licks Derek's butt just as much as the rest of them. I don't think he would have given Janel and Val a 10, but he might have given one to Derek and Bethany. I don't know. I'm starting to get worried that Alfonso is getting the Charlie treatment from last season. After a great first week performance, I think Charlie very rarely got his proper due from the judges. I can see them doing the same thing to Alfonso so they can prop their pets like Janel and Bethany. As much as I thought Alfonso was low-balled once again, I thought at first that the judges' might realize that giving out tens and nine like candy was a bad idea so early in the season, and then, Bam, they lose their shit at overscore horribly both Janel and Bethany. I can kind of give them a pass on Janel because it was an entertaining routine, but that prop-fest that Bethany and Derek did was ridiculous. Seriously, Derek has become the prop king. Other than his first week performance with Bethany, most of his recent dances have been prop-fests where he and his partner spend 80% of their dance seated and/or using some kind of prop, with very little dancing, and still the judges are beside themselves and do everything short of throwing their panties/underwear at him, and declare him the new King of Dance. It's sickening. I am beyond ready for Derek to do what he said he was going to do years ago and quit the show. Tommy is such a delight! As fun as his week one performance was, part of the reason I enjoyed it was because I thought the parts where he actually danced, he did really well and he's continued to be a fun performer and a good performer.
  19. That was a plot point I didn't really get. When Anna first talked about going on her quest, I assumed she meant that she'd do it after the wedding since the wedding was the next day. I don't know why she had to take off before her wedding. I know that she wants to help put her sister's mind at ease, but it wasn't exactly an emergency situation and it wasn't as if the wedding was weeks away. Plus, if she'd done it after the wedding she and Kristoff could have just gone to wherever she was going in and Else wouldn't have suspected anything because she'd just assume they were on their honeymoon. Ugh, this! I'm not a huge fan of Rumple, but I can tolerate him a hell of a lot more than Regina because the show doesn't try to portray him as anything less than the fuck-up he is. Rumple knows damn well he's the biggest reason that he can't find any happiness. And while the others tolerate him because he's "family" now, they don't go out of their way to hang out with him and sing his praises or bend over backwards to cheer him up when things go wrong. Hell when he "died" I think most of them barely batted an eye.
  20. Of course she will. Then at the end of the season she'll have Robin again, but then she'll trip over a coffee table and break her ankle. And because this is Regina, who can't stand to have one little thing ruin her idea of perfect happiness, she'll seek bloody vengeance against any and all coffee table makers. She'll murder a few innocents and then decide murdering present coffee table makers isn't enough and she has to go back in time and murder the first person to ever make a coffee table. But then Henry will make a tearful speech saying she's not a villain, Regina will shed a few tears, save a few people's lives, which is apparently all the writers think it takes to show a character's redemption. And then it's going to be lather, rinse, repeat all over again. The writer's need to look up the word redemption and really figure out how to write an actual one or just give up the ghost and just write Regina (and Rumple) as villains. It was mostly a meh premiere for me. I didn't see Frozen yet, so I wasn't really excited about the story coming to the show. Nothing in the premiere really changed my mind. I think Else can be a good foil on the show, but I was too pissed about having characters I don't care about taking up 70% of the episode, while Snow and Charming were horribly side-lined. Plus, I thought the character of Anna was kind of a little much. I think they were going for cute, but her rambling kind of annoyed and felt like they were trying to hard for adorable. Plus, she reminded me a lot of Ariel, and I'd just prefer Ariel if we're going to get that character.
  21. Holy crap, that Patrick/Sam kiss was the most tepid thing I've ever seen. About the only indication that they were swept away by passion was him opening her shirt. I thought it would get better after they got horizontal, but it just got worse. I haven't seen such an evaporation of chemistry with a first kiss since Johnny/Maxie. I thought Johnny/Maxie had good friendship chemistry and then they had their first kiss (and second) and I just wanted them far apart and to stop assaulting my eyes. It's almost the same thing with Patrick/Sam. I've thought over the years that they have nice friendship chemistry, but I thought the idea of turning it into romance was a bad one. The more and more they've been trying to force things between them, the less chemistry I've seen. Today, after that kiss, that chemistry has pretty much evaporated. At least they finally stopped giving us headless Jason. I don't know why they felt the need to do this stuff wen they hadn't hired someone yet at the time to permanently play nuJason. I don't like Nathan/Maxie either, but their first kiss, at least yesterday's version, was far better than Patrick/Sam's. But their banter today was stupid and forced and that gun lesson wasn't sexy at all.
  22. YES! I could not agree with this more if I tried. Also: Do something with Scott's dad or cut him loss. Last season and this season they played up some moment with Rafe that ended up fizzling to nothing. Last season it was the big terrible, life altering secret that wasn't. Now this season they make a big point of Rafe saying he needs to have a serious talk about the strange goings on in Beacon Hills and then he disappears for the rest of the season. Scott and Stiles are the heart of this show and I thought this was the one thing JD was smart enough to recognize, but apparently not. I could have sworn before this season JD said that we'd be getting more Scott/Stiles and more classic shenanigans with them. But other than couple of episodes, Scott and Stiles barely interacted this season. Another key element of this show are the parent/child relationships and I think scenes between the parents and their kids, especially Melissa and Scott, were woefully lacking this season. Stop adding useless characters that no one cares about and focusing on them instead of the main players. Stop introducing a thousand storylines that end up amounting to less than nothing in the end. While I like the vibe between Lydia and Parrish and welcome finding out what he is, I'd like Lydia to apply her willingness to investigate Parrish's background to her own life. We were supposed to find out more about Lydia and her banshee powers, but that was another lie.
  23. I definitely get the frustration. When I was thinking about all of the awards handed out, other than in the mini-series/movie categories, it was basically a checklist of past winners, even if those winners (like Allison Janney) were for new programs. Even when someone is deserving you do want to see them spread the wealth. I felt that way when Bryan Cranston won his last Emmy, and I wasn't exactly crazy about winning this one either. Feel the same way about Aaron Paul. A lot of these shows I don't watch. I've only seen one season of BB, but apparently BB is that good and is that superior. I've gotten tired of seeing Jim Parson win every year, but he is a brilliant actor, same goes Julia-Louis Dreyfuss. IMO most of the winners are not undeserving in the least. But it does get boring and predictable to see the same winners all the time. But like I said I enjoy seeing MF win, just because of how people lose their minds over it. I kind of find the whole True Detective shot itself in the foot and 'how dare it put itself in the drama category' controversy kind of funny. Wasn't the controversy basically the other way around when American Horror Story first came out and submitted itself in the mini-series category? A lot of people said it was just a ploy to avoid the harder drama category. There were many, including myself, who didn't really consider it a mini-series. I still don't. I understand the reasons given for why AHS is put in the mini-series category, but this is probably a case of me being really old school and considering a mini-series one of those one time only event series, like North & South from years ago, or Bonnie & Clyde this year. So I really have no problem with TD submitting as a drama. Really, it's the Academy's own fault for not having hard and fast rules about this stuff. What I find way more strange is Sherlock being in the TV movie category. I'm sure it was in the same category for the last series but I might have found it more jarring when I saw that Luther was in the mini-series category. I just recently watched that show and its format is very similar to Sherlock. The only difference is Luther's episodes are usually an hour or less. Is there some rule because of Sherlock's usually hour and a half running time, it can't submit in mini-series? And do they only choose one episode per season to represent the whole show?
  24. *evil cackle* I loved watching the Modern Family haters lose their mind! I love the show and still think it's funny, but I root for it every year partially because I think the hate is over the top. Though I can sympathize. I remember when Frasier won it's fourth and fifth Emmy thinking "Are you kidding me?" Glad MF tied the record. A mostly enjoyable Emmys telecast. Lots of moments that genuinely made me laugh and a few surprises. As someone who loved the first two season of Sherlock but have had my issues with it, not sure what to think of all of their wins. Though I'm genuinely pissed BC and MF weren't there to accept their awards. I'm sure they had good reasons, but damn that would have been awesome.
  25. Should all defense attorneys in real life who defend murderers be A-OK if their spouses/partners turns out to be a murderers? Who she represents in a professional capacity should have no bearing on who she wants to date in her personal life. The only reason she's Sonny's lawyer know is because, off-screen, they wanted to capitalize on MB and NLG's chemistry and find a way for them to interact on-screen. On-screen the reason at first was I believe because Sonny blackmailed her and even with that, I think her caveat for working with him again wasn't that she wasn't going to handle his shadier business dealings. I think that's one of the reason Sonny didn't turn to her after he killed AJ. I think it's incredibly unfair and inaccurate to say that Alexis likes being a mob/villain moll or only wants to be with criminals. I think it's been well-established that Alexis finds herself mostly attracted to dark and dangerous men. But I also think it's not something that she particularly likes about herself. I don't think she deliberately seeks out twisted guys. Most people can't help the people who they're attracted to. It's not really a conscious thing. We like who we like. Given Alexis' upbringing it makes sense that her tastes are dysfunctional. But again it's not something she seeks out nor does she deliberately push away the "normal" guys. Her longest romantic relationships on the show were with Ric and Ned. Ned, while he's done criminal things, was relatively normal. Ric, was always dysfunctional and worked for the mob from time to time, but for the most part during their relationship Ric was just a lawyer. Alexis definitely loved Ned and was attracted to him. I can't remember exactly why Alexis ran out on her wedding to Ned, but I think it was mostly because she was scared of the idea of marriage and making that kind of commitment. The second time they broke up was because of her loyalty and connection to Ned. She broke up with Ric because he slept with her daughter. I don't think her and Cameron were ever a real thing so there was no dumping there. She only had a one night stand with Jerry. She broke up with Sean because he wanted to be Sonny's enforcer. if she only wanted a criminal she would have stuck with Sean. So no there's no real history of her dumping guys because they're not in the mob and boring, nor only desiring to settle down with criminals. I think the thing with Cameron didn't work out because the characters didn't fit together and the character of Cameron wasn't real popular and was a bad father and pompous ass. I can't remember why exactly she said she didn't want to be with Mac but it could have been because he was boring and because their kids were trying to hard. And in her defense it wasn't exactly like he wanted to be with her anymore than she wanted to be with him. This thing with Julian also can't entirely be blamed on Alexis just wanting dangerous criminals because she first became attracted to him when she thought he was Derek Wells, publisher. I think one of the reasons Ric was such a good match for her was because he was dark and dysfunctional enough, with one foot on the other side of criminal while not being fully in it. I don't think she wants to be with someone who is a total criminal like Sonny or Julian, nor someone who is a criminal and crazy like Jerry. I think their job doesn't matter. Mac was a cop, not exactly a boring job, but as much as I like him Mac's never been very exciting. I think like Ric, another person Alexis could work with would have been Jax. He's normal with a normal job, but he's not a boring person. I don't think she'd get bored with, or dump Julian, if he got out of the mob because he's not dull and he's screwed up enough.
