Elizabeth Webber: Forever The Manipulative Miss Or Adorable Angel?
FilmTVGeek80 replied to ulkis's topic in General Hospital
I don't agree. I don't think she was thoroughly punished. I definitely don't remember most everyone castigating her or being condescending. I'd need a few examples of this. She had a couple of people, like Lulu, go off on her, but after she had her breakdown, everyone felt sorry for her again, including Lucky. Him telling her they're no good for each other isn't punishment to me, especially considering what she did. And I also don't count being backburnered being punished. I'm referring to on-screen stuff. I think she was just back burnered because the writers got bored with her and didn't know who to pair her with. -
I think she's a prisoner because Ron doesn't know what else to do with her, and he's stated he wants to keep Scrubs an option and doesn't seem to want to have her move away so he's decided to keep her as a prisoner. It's lame and stupid, but I don't think it's why Nik and Liz are being written how they are. Another reason for this storyline could be because they're finally going to do Niz at the end of this storyline since they'll probably be the only people who can stand either one of them after this over. I do hope when the truth comes out Nik gets his share of the comeuppance as well. I really hope Alexis puts him on blast, Kristina's funeral style. Even if you could argue that Nikolas isn't that close to his cousin Sam, he certainly is close to Alexis. She would hate knowing he's doing this to her daughter and grandson, and for such asinine reasons.

I don't think Liz is a victim of this storyline. Some may see this as OOC for her, but I don't think it's that huge of a stretch. And I honestly don't think the show cares about stretching any Robin reveal out. Most of the characters have taken the "Robin is freely living in Paris" at face value, so there's no real urgency to have that story told by the writers it seems. And Sam/Patrick and Liz/Jason are going to implode regardless of the truth about Robin coming out. That's going to implode because of Jason's true identity, so yes I think that is the real reason for the stall in this storyline. It's about Jason, not about Robin. Why would Patrick be diabolical for screwing the woman his wife tried to help? This is a soap. People sleep with their parents' exes. I don't see why Patrick is diabolical for that. Ditto Sam. As far as Sam knows Robin voluntarily divorced Patrick. She knows that Robin left to help Jason, but as far as she knows she's staying away for other reasons. Why should that stop Sam from being with Patrick? I understand that Robin fans, which I kind of am, but to be honest some Robin fan's attitudes have soured me on the character, but I understand Robin fans viewing certain storylines from that kind of viewpoint, but I think most others don't, and I don't see why they would. Some are excused, and again I point out not by everyone, because we get that KMc not being around is going to affect limit how much other characters can do without her there. But that really has nothing to do with Liz taking it upon herself to lie to Jason and everyone that loved him.
-
Why shouldn't she be hated? Patrick and Ann et al. are excused, by some, for not asking about Robin because the actress isn't there. Liz's lies today don't really have much to do with that or with Robin. Liz lied because she's pathetic and obsessed with Jason. I think her lies, storywise, is to re-ignite the lame Sam/Jason/Liz triangle and to prolong the reveal to everyone else about Jake's true identity.

IA. I didn't think he would be performing this year because Maxie had mentioned something about him not having enough time to practice or something. Which I thought would be dumb, since BA has such a great voice. Glad I was wrong and he did perform. Though my enjoyment of it was lessened because I abhor this Maxie/Spinelli/Nathan/Ellie storyline. I didn't love it, but it could have been worse. I think as others have pointed out recently, Michael's moved on from the white hot hatred of Sonny and Carly to a more distant thing of "I used to love you guys, and while I might not hate you anymore, I don't want to have anything to do with you longterm." I liked how Chad Duell played the moment when Carly touched his face. He kind of looked like he wanted to remove her hand, but then he was kind of conflicted because she's still his mother and he's loved her all his life. Even as a Sabrina fan, I think it might be time to retire the "You're Not Alone" song. It doesn't need to be played every single year. Was my heart supposed to be warmed at the sight of Courtney looming over Nikolas and Courtney. Let's just put aside the fact that I hate Courtney. But the whole thing didn't earn any warm and fuzzies because Nik and Spencer are such horrible people right now and Nik is such a lousy father. It was about to Spencer's dead mother to parent him because Nik was off conspiring to keep his cousin's not-so-dead husband in the dark about his true identity. And Spencer just tried to kill two kids. More than any performance, I felt so embarrassed for TeCa and LW for having to deliver those un-natural cringe-worthy commercial endorsements of Aveeno. It was as bad as years ago when Campbell Heart Healthy was sponsoring all four ABC shows, and every once and awhile characters would have to randomly start singing the praises of Campbell soup. Thank you GH for the biggest laugh I've had in years when Liz actually with a straight face talked about how she's always tried to do the right thing. We can go back to Liz's first year on the soap when I think she stole some text in HS and tried to frame her sister for cheating (I can't remember the exact details of that storyline, but I do remember Liz cheating in some way) up to her screwing to brothers at the same time, while she was engaged to one of them, to show how blatantly untrue and ludicrous that statement was. And Liz's "plan" is so stupid on so many levels. As she pointed out yesterday, Jason had a memory of her when he first woke up. Does she think he's never going to regain those memories back. Though I guess Liz is delusional enough right now to think that she could keep Jason hostage long enough that by the time he regained his memories, he wouldn't care and would stay with her. Also, Liz witnessed what happened when Robin came back. Argue all you want about whether Patrick and Sabrina were truly a good couple, but everyone, including Liz thought they were happy, but when Robin came back Patrick eventually chose her. Does she seriously think no matter how "deliriously happy" Sam is with Patrick, that she wouldn't want to know her husband is alive and wouldn't ultimately chose him? And does she think it would have been okay for everyone to go on thinking that Robin was dead because eh they'd already grieved for her. While Liz had a point about a lot of people in town getting away with heinous actions and facing no consequences, she also knows that secrets always come out. Ric's was just embarrassed at the Nurses' Ball and made to face the consequences for his lies, but since Ric isn't "good enough" for Liz, I guess she thinks she's above a secret blowing up in her face. I may not be a Jason fan, but it's pretty disgusting that Liz is basically keeping Jason a hostage and not allowing him the freedom of making his own choices, all because she knows that she'd lose out. She's exactly as pathetic as Ric. He knew he wouldn't win against Jake and decided he wanted Liz anyway even knowing she wouldn't choose him and Liz is doing the exact same thing to Jason. Jason "belonged" to Sam, Sonny, and Carly because that was Jason's choice. Those were the people he choose and loved. And now Liz has decided her happiness is paramount to not only them, but Jason's child and Jason's mother. But I guess that's okay Monica can turn to her other kids - oh, wait all of her children or dead - or she believes. Given that Liz was so quick to hand out slaps to both Nik and Ric for having the temerity to lie to her, I seriously hope Monica and Sam can take turns slapping the crap out of Liz when the truth comes out. One of my most fervent wishes for the end of this storyline, which I know won't happen, would be for Ric to be the one to find out what Liz is up to and expose her. I hated LiRic, so I don't want to see them get back together, but I would love for the Liz blinders to finally be pulled from Ric's eyes and for him to finally see that she's not a saint, and maybe his obsession with her would finally be done. After Liz telling him he's not good enough for her and then pulling this, I think it would such poetic justice for Ric to expose her as the pathetic, lying witch that she really is. I don't know what I'll do, but if Liz gets to skate after this, like she did after the Nik affair blew up and she had some convenient, quick "breakdown", I will be so freaking livid.

Honestly, I thought the whole Jordan/Julian chemistry was overblown. I never thought they had that much, so I'm not sure exactly what's been ruined. But chemistry is subjective. And yeah, on Twitter NLG is very pro-Julexis. But, so what? Actors are allowed to have preferences same as anybody else. She's probably shared those views with her bosses, but this regime doesn't really seem to care that much what actor's preferences are anyway, unless you have a certain clout like AG, which I don't think NLG has. I highly doubt NLG stomped her foot and whined and threatened to knee cap the actress that plays Jordan, if Jordan was paired with Julian instead. NLG hasn't had a really successful pairing in a long time. She's an actress of a certain age in an industry where they don't always get prominent roles or get to be in sexy pairings. I don't blame her one bit, for riding the popularity of Julexis and being protective of it. Fans can definitely assess the characters and pairings without actors campaigning. But NLG's "lame campaigning" doesn't really have anything to do with Julexis's popularity. I think they'd be popular whether she spoke up about it or not. Her "campaigning" wasn't the cause of it.

How do you know what the original judge was going to rule? Alexis may have been pessimistic about Michael's chances, but the judge never gave any indication that Michael had no shot at custody. Given all of the testimony against Sonny, no sane judge should have given him custody. But because of Alexis' warnings, and living in that town long enough to know how Sonny skates by on everything, Michael decided he wasn't taking any chances and got a favorable judge on his side. Like Turtle pointed out, Michael didn't do anything illegal. He didn't bribe the judge in any way. I enjoyed all of that. I loved Dante having none of Morgan's bullshit and attitude. Even though he didn't lose the 'tude I did appreciate that Dante tearing into Morgan at the PCPD was one of the only times Morgan hasn't looked smug and actually looked like someone was partially getting through to him. Though of course, the only person Morgan apologizes to through this whole ordeal is stupid Kiki. Because he dragged her into this kicking and screaming. Shut up, Morgan! Shut up, Kiki! I haven't loved Michael this much since he was revealed to have gotten Judge Walters on the custody case. I loved him going for what he wanted with Sabrina and trying to assure her that he wasn't just grateful. I loved him tearing into Ned for giving Franco his shares of ELQ. And I especially loved how he handled the situation with Sonny and Carly. He's seemed to have been softening slightly lately towards Sonny, but there was non of that today. He was all business with Sonny. He knew right away that Sonny probably had baby AJ somewhere close, and while he would prefer not send Morgan to prison because he knows how tough that is, that he was prepared to do it if Sonny didn't agree to his terms. While it killed him, to drop the charges against Kiki and Morgan, I think he saw it as the best option. He was right when he told Sonny, he could just get the law involved, and he'd probably come out on top eventually. But I think he just wanted to have AJ back home as soon as possible, and it was better to get Sonny to drop the custody suit entirely than to get a win against Morgan. I haven't been a Nikolas fan in awhile, but I enjoyed his scenes with Lulu today. They came across as a true brother and sister, and I liked that she copped to just not being comfortable around Valerie.

It's not that I think Sonny or Carly shouldn't have said anything. You're definitely right that it would have been worse had they said nothing or given Morgan their approval. My problem with their reaction, especially Carly's, was there was too might self-righteous indignation and pearl clutching going on. They both acted as if what Morgan did was something that was beneath either one of them, when as it's been pointed out, they've both done similar things. I think they both had a right to get pissed at Morgan, but I think coming at him more from a place of disappointment and hurt would have worked better. Like when Morgan pointed out that Carly would probably have done the same thing, instead of her getting on her high horse and talking about the mistakes she's made, but indicating that Morgan crossed a line she wouldn't, she could have been truthful and said "Yeah, I've pulled dumb shit like what you just did, but it's brought me nothing but pain and made everything worse and I don't want you repeating my mistakes." Plus, Morgan's so pig-headed that coming at him like Carly did just made him dig in his heels more and refuse to accept blame. They didn't get through to him at all. That doesn't really go to the point I was responding to. You said Silas owed Ava this huge favor he's doing for her now because he and Ava had an affair and Nina went after her. My point was that I don't think Silas owes her anything because they both willingly went into the affair and both earned Nina's wrath. Now, that's not saying that Ava earned Nina playing womb raider, but she wasn't some doe eyed innocent either. How Nina decided to take her revenge on them both is on her - it's not his fault Ava got the worst of it. Plus, I actually think Nina's conflicted feelings for Silas was one aspect of that storyline that worked. Yes, Silas was her husband and was the one who owed her loyalty and broke that promise. When someone you love hurts you, it hurts worse than some stranger. Yet, at the same time Silas was someone Nina loved deeply at one time and someone Nina has a lot of good memories of. With Ava she didn't have a prior loving relationship, so she just came at her from a place of pure hate.

I think they've been circling each other since before that. They had their first scenes before Avery was born - which seemed to indicate chemistry test. But like you said up until recently their scenes have been spread out over months and they didn't really build up an attraction. The only time there was that indication was during the scenes Michael offered Sabrina the position as Avery's nanny and Sabrina told Michael he looked cute holding Avery and Michael had this brief look on his face like "She thinks I'm cute. Awesome!" But I'm not complaining too much since I do like the pairing and the kiss was good. That's really true - and really weird. I don't know how they manage that.
-
Yeah, that was kind of awkward. I thought Lulu overreacted considerably when she caught Dante and Valerie hugging, but I would have seriously given any woman the side-eye who was basically waxing rhapsodic about how hot my husband was and describing in great detail the soulfulness of his eyes. I kind of agree. I wanted someone to tear into stupid Morgan and Kiki but having it be hypocrites Carly and Sonny didn't completely work. I thought it was hilarious that Morgan said Carly would have done the same thing (it would have been better if Morgan had pointed out she had done the same thing, but I don't know if Morgan knows all the gory details about that) and then Carly got all indignant, pointing out she has done horrible things but that he crossed the line. Apparently, Morgan crossed the line because he did it to his brother. Though Carly slept with her own mother's husband, so she kind of needs to take a seat. On the other hand, Morgan and his complete lack of any kind of remorse or empathy still causes me to feel not any pity for him at all. That he still refused to accept any responsibility for what he did, and think about the damage he caused, and actually say that he did the right thing, just shows that he truly is the worst of both his parents. Dante is a great person. I don't many other characters who would have apologized so sincerely to Michael and called Morgan out for being a dumbass. I had to LOL when Dante wondered how Kiki could drug Michael and Michael quickly said that both Kiki and Morgan were complete idiots. I wish they had built the moment up a little better, and took more time with it, but I still squeed a little at Michael and Sabrina's kiss.
-
I'm sorry, but how does that make it his fault? That might make sense to me if Silas honed in on an innocent Ava and seduced her somehow. And even that wouldn't make it primarily Silas' fault, since Ava was a grown woman. But as you just pointed out Ava took money to throw herself at Silas. She, for whatever reason, sought to sleep with a married man. Silas shouldn't have cheated on his wife and owed her fidelity. That part of it is definitely all on him. But the fact that Ava chose to sleep with a married man and then had to fend off his crazy wife is just as much Ava's fault as it is Silas'. He didn't owe her anything because Nina chose to go after her.

Seriously I could watch Michael's scenes today on a loop and never get bored. God, I could just do very, very, very naughty things to Michael right now. Honestly at this point I don't even care to worry about how they're going to fuck this up and have Michael go crawling back to them. I'm just trying to enjoy the immensely enjoyable ride as is. And, I'm actually not even 100% that they'll "redeem" Michael (as if Michael is the one who needs to be redeemed, but unfortunately I'm sure that's what the writers think) they might enjoy this new dynamic and turning Michael into the whipping boy AJ became. There was just so, so, so much to love about Michael today. He was just so steadfast and cool under pressure. One of the moments I loved the most was when Sonny smarmed about how Monica would love to poison Avery against him (the balls on that guy to speak with such contempt about a woman whose son you killed in cold blood) and Michael pointed out there was no poisoning needed, all they had to do was tell Avery the truth. And god, Avery was so adorable and definitely looked happy just where she was. I'm going to hope that Carlivati doesn't resort to Guza's heavy-handed lame tactic of having Michael cry non-stop when he was a baby and was living at the Quartermaine's. And I loved, loved, loved that Michael didn't waver after Carly called his "bluff." I was worried for a sick that he'd waver and go a little soft on Carly, but he was like "Whatever take them both away. Oh and by the way, unlike you dumbasses I know what's up. Get my sister at Sonny's island." It might be seen cruel and a little twisted but he was magnificent sticking around to twist the knife and announcing he would call Avery, AJ. Just shut up Kiki and Morgan, shut up! Morgan is such a waste of space right now. It was so pathetic how he made a beeline for Sonny to make sure Sonny knew coming back was not his idea and he was totally onboard with being Sonny's buttmonkey. And Kiki has no freaking idea what she's talking about. Just because she's too much of a moron with no backbone to fight Sonny, doesn't make Michael the bad guy. Sonny tried to gun her mother down numerous times and Kiki is squawking on about honoring her mother's wishes and going to bat over Sonny. I ask this so often, but seriously what kind of monstrous sociopaths are Carly and Sonny? How could you look at your child showing you the scar from the time they were shot in the head and not flinch even a little, not stop and question once if this truly is the best life for Avery. But, no, Sonny is all about mineminemine and refusing to even consider what's best for his kid and Carly can only smugly try and guilt Michael by bringing up Jason and then instead of ending things by just admitting where Avery is, risk jail time, and depriving Joss of her mother (though Joss is probably smarter and better able to raise herself at this point.), just to prove to Sonny that she has his back. Plus, Carly doesn't even know what she's talking about. Pointing out the Q house is nothing but misery- yeah because living with bodyguards, bullet proof glass, barware smashed on the floor every week, your father screaming whore at various girlfriends, and getting shot and kidnapped is oodles of fun.

Spoilers and Speculation: Clink Boom and Cheese Fondue
FilmTVGeek80 replied to BestestAuntEver's topic in General Hospital
I brought up Patrick because that's where most of the hatred for Sabrina stemmed from. How supposedly Robin was getting the shaft to prop up Sabrina (though Robin is still supposedly getting the shaft and Sabrina's nowhere near her storyline anymore, so I don't know who the latest scapegoat is) because she was in a relationship with Patrick. Otherwise, I don't get what's so disrespectful to Robin about Lucy discussing it with Sabrina. It didn't end with her. If it's supposed to mean that the episode ended up focused on her because of the baby, then i guess you could say the focus was equally on Patrick because it was his baby, too. And It wasn't everyone who showed up at the hospital, only a few people who were close to Patrick and Sabrina. And most of them barely looked at Sabrina, except for Felix, and I think maybe Epiphany. They were mostly comforting Patrick. -

How do you go for Lucy and Sabrina discussing the Nurses' Ball to it being all about Sabrina. She wasn't even at the Nurses' Ball last year. And how is it disrespectful to Robin? Sabrina's not with Patrick anymore. She's got nothing to do with Robin. But why? I like the potential of Sabrina/Michael but why would he need to marry Sabrina when he already won custody? Cool! I hope so! -
GH History Lessons: Because History is Always Repeating Itself
FilmTVGeek80 replied to Stinger97's topic in General Hospital
Don't believe the hype. I think Spixie were an awesome pairing! They of course had their issues like all couples did, especially during Guza's era, but I think their chemistry was awesome and they were often really funny and sweet together. I think worked, past tense, is the essential word there. Plus, she wasn't taken away from Maxie because she was dating a cop. Maxie probably could have raised Georgie if she hadn't been a dumbass and lied and given the baby to Dante and Lulu. While, I think the judge was way harsh in his first, and continual decisions about Maxie getting to see Georgie, she initially lost her because of her lies and the damage she caused everyone with the baby lie. Plus, as we found out later, Judge Walters had personal reasons for his coming down on Maxie. -
I never really found Johnny all that hot. Honestly, on the show, and in real life I'd much rather go for BA/Spinelli than Johnny/BB. Plus, I've never thought he tried to tear Maxie down. Like I said, he's gotten a bit better and more natural at times, especially in scenes with Dante, but he's not a great dramatic actor and his range of expressions is still limited. He's alright for me, but I'm mainly just happy that he's not shirtless 90% of the time. But if you like him, that's fine. I don't really remember what Jason was like after the tumor. Quite frankly after SBu returned that last time, I don't remember any drastic changes in his personality ever. But right now Jason's memory loss isn't caused by a tumor. And the tumor wasn't the first time Jason suffered memory loss. When he went from Jason Q to Jason Morgan he changed drastically, so there is definitely precedent for Jake's change in personality. Jake is having slight flashes of Jason memory, but his memory is still essentially gone right now. I think your memory affects a lot of aspects of your personality. I think their can be certain skills that can be ingrained, like his stealth skills, but not every aspect of his personality is going to be exactly the same. There were plenty of times Jason was smug. Whenever he faced off against anyone he thought was beneath him, like AJ. Or that insufferable period of time that he and Sam had it out for Alexis and they went around threatening her constantly. Whenever he's in an interrogation room, etc.

I love Spinelli and Sabrina. So that can be difficult. I had such a love/hate for that scene. I hated Emily and Emily/Nikolas, so seeing either one in pain was nice, but any storyline about the supposed great love between Emily/Nikolas rankled. But that image of Emily with the flames over her face will never not make me laugh. There was a lot of fun fodder with that image on TWoP and it looking like Emily was burning in hell. -

I'm not sure what episode she submitted, I think it had something to do with Emily's rape, but I don't remember her being good ever. Like as much as JY sucked as Lucky, I remember watching the episode he submitted and actually thinking he had a good shot for the Emmy because it was the rare great performance from him. Plus, I don't think his category was that stacked with talent. But with NL, I don't remember her over blowing me away with a performance. She could give decent performances - very rarely - but nothing Emmy-worthy and nothing that even compared to the people she was up against. -
Because Johnny wasn't a manipulative bastard at all.

Alexis wasn't Maxie's lawyer in that custody case. She was Lulu and Dante's. Sonny is such a petulant ass. This is really the first time he's lost in a custody case and he's showing how much of a sore loser he is. What the hell does he think Michael is going to do to Avery? Eat her? It would be one thing if this was Ava or something or a sworn enemy, but he knows Michael wouldn't do anything to hurt her. So listen to your lawyer, hand her over, and wait for the appeal. But, no, Sonny refuses to be outmaneuvered by anyone. I loved Michael standing his ground and bringing up the meat hook, which of course neither Sonny or Carly had a response for. I really wish Ryan Paevey was a better actor. I'll admit he's gotten better since he started, then again I think it would be hard pressed for him to get worse, but yikes he is still not good with anything remotely dramatic.I think he was supposed to be heartbroken there at the end, but it just looked like he was disappointed because he remembered he forgot to DVR The Simpsons. I don't think Jason was still Jason the last time he lost his memory. When Jason Q became Jason Morgan he was a completely different person. So why wouldn't this new brain damage result in a third incarnation. Plus, Jake can still be a smug douche at times, so there definitely still is some remnants of Jason Morgan in there.
-
I remember the scene you were referring to vaguely. Sonny does use blackmail sometimes, but his go to move is violence and criminal activity. I know AJ didn't sign away his rights to Michael in the scene you're referring because he signed away his rights when Sonny had AJ locked up for days, waving booze in his face, and then finally HANGING HIM ON A MEATHOOK. And it's not like the Q's were keeping Carly hostage. After everything Carly did, and then followed throw on given how cut off the Q's were from Michael most of his life, to keep AJ and the Q's from Michael after they were born they had every right to threaten to sue for custody. The only reason Carly was at the house was because she betrayed Jason and walked into the Q house of her own free will to marry AJ and try to play them all for suckers. Pardon them for calling Carly out and not letting her roll over them.
-
Yep. It's not really Sonny's style to blackmail. His options lean more towards ruining someone's life and/or killing them. We don't know exactly Michael did yet, but it would seem he pulled strings to get a more favorable judge towards himself appointed to the case. Not exactly on the up and up, but way more civilized than anything Sonny would pull. And being a good person doesn't have to be some black and white thing. I think pulling a move like Michael did to save Avery's life is actually a pretty great thing, but even if it were completely bad that doesn't make Michael a bad person and it certainly doesn't even compare to half the crap, Sonny or Ava, has pulled in their lives. As someone else pointed out, if biology is soooo important than why did king Sonny think it was his right to take Michael from AJ? Neither Sonny or Carly ever have a response for that other than pointing out that AJ was a drunk or pointing out how dysfunctional the Q's are/were. Of course for Sonny he thinks he's above everyone. It's his business to decide if Jax or AJ gets to raise their kids, but when someone threatens his place with his kids all of a sudden biology rules all and the only thing that matters is a kid having their father's love. I think for the courts biology is paramount. And I actually don't have a problem with that. But there comes a point where biology shouldn't be the deciding factor. Some people should not be raising kids and Sonny is one of those people. Michael would be better for Avery because he's never set out to kill anyone, unlike Avery's mother and father. He doesn't make his money dealing in death and destruction. He doesn't have a long history of kids being hurt merely for standing next to him. Michael hasn't chosen money and power countless times over the welfare of his family. That's not exactly what Carly and Sonny did. Carly decided that she wanted someone else to raise her child because she didn't want to lose her mealticket boyfriend. Then after AJ stood up to her she decided she hated him and elected first Jason and then Sonny to play daddy. It had nothing really to do with AJ being any kind of danger to Michael. If AJ actually had been legitimately a danger to Michael, I don't think, I and many others that resent what Sonny and Carly did, would hate them so much. If someone is a criminal and manages to be a terrific parent and role model, then sure they should get to keep their kids. But time and time again Sonny's line of work has had disastrous repercussions for his children. You keep acting like Michael doesn't have legitimate reasons to fear for Avery's safety. Sure, a huge reason he's doing this is because he's mad at Sonny. But it's not like he's mad at Sonny for taking away his car keys. The man KILLED A DEFENSELESS MAN in cold blood. How exactly is Sonny a fit parent? Because he loves his kids? Sorry, that's not good enough. Who's to say that Avery would resent being kept away from Sonny. If someone explained the risks to her, she might actually be grateful. There are plenty of people who weren't raised by their biological parents who are just fine with it. Sam and Julian's situation is completely different. Alexis didn't deliberately keep Julian from her. And while Sam has begun to forge a relationship with him, it doesn't seem like she's crying over the fact that he didn't raise her. Kiki is also forging a relationship with her dad. She's sad at the time she lost with him, but she's not actually bitter about it. She was only bitter about her mom constantly lying about who her father was. Michael was pissed about being kept from AJ because his parents lied to him about who AJ was and why they kept him from him. He didn't love AJ because of biology. He came to love him because he got to know the man underneath and knew he was truly not the horrible drunken loser that Sonny and Carly made him out to be. I think, biology or not, if AJ had turned out to be the kind of man Sonny and Carly painted him to be Michael would have continued to not care about him. Just curious since being raised by a biological parent is so important do you think Nikolas should have been raised by his rapist, psycho dad? I mean who cares that he tried to rape Nikolas' sister. Biology is the most important thing ever. It doesn't matter the kind of person he has or the kind of danger he could expose his kids to. I think Dante is actually a great example of someone who wasn't raised by their biological parent and isn't bitter about it. Sure, he's formed a sort of tentative relationship with Sonny but he doesn't blame Olivia for keeping him from Sonny and he's actually probably the most well-adjusted of all of Sonny's kids. A lot of babies look interchangeable to me. There are plenty I couldn't pick out of a line-up.
-
I disagree strenuously about this look not being attractive on Michael. It's not that I've ever found Chad Duell repulsive or anything, but he's never really done it for me. But today with that smirk toward Sonny when Judge Walters was revealed - wow! If I was in that courtroom I would have thrown him down and done him right there. His move today wasn't Sonny like. Carly, and maybe the show, might try to paint this as Michael acting like his father Sonny, but that move was pure Quartermaine through and through. I love him getting his Quartermaine on after years of being deprived of his family. I think those who have actually watched the show for years, and aren't mesmerized by Sonny's dimples, know that Sonny is not the sympathetic one here. Michael is exactly right that all of Sonny's kids, because of Sonny's quest for power and money, which he has put ahead of his kids time and time again, have all paid the price one way or another. Avery may not be a piece of meat, but she'd damn well be better off with Michael, even if he does have the nannies raise her. Michael's only been blown up and almost killed because of yet another one of Sonny's enemies. I don't care if Michael wants to use whatever underhanded tactics he needs to save Avery's life. Bribe judges, whatever it takes.

This trial just started. They can get to anything related Carly later. If Michael started listing off all the reasons Sonny and Carly are unfit parents they'd be there all day. Plus, it's not like Sonny and Carly are married. Also, I don't think bringing up the Tony Jones incident really helps anything because, if I recall right, I think Carly got off for that because she claimed temporary insanity and/or post-partum depression. And what would Ric bringing up Alexis' prior history with AJ and Sonny prove. All Alexis has to say is Sonny was her client at the time, she did her job, and now he's not her client. Plus, all Alexis has to do is counter with Ric's own sordid history will all parties in the trial, and I don't think Alexis is the one who'd come out the worse in that instance. As far as Olivia's baby is concerned, if her boyfriend may be the father, I think her interest in it is understandable. Plus, it's not like she's done anything about it other than discuss it with Julian. As far as the writers, and I think everyone in PC is concerned, the test they did on Avery was sufficient proof that Sonny is the father. I'm not blaming Alexis because the writers have forgotten (for now that plot point.) There was no sign in the episode that she was letting her history with Sonny or Ric get in her way. I thought her advice to Michael made sense. I'm definitely on Michael's side in this but he was so high-strung right before the trial that I get Alexis questioning his behavior and telling him to calm down and make sure this is what he really wanted. She didn't push him on it or browbeat him about it, and when he wanted to proceed she went and did her job.

Alexis is doing her job. Right now, the judge is only asking to hear why Michael thinks Sonny is an unfit parent. While Carly is busy clutching Avery to her bosom like she's Avery's mom, it's not about her right now. Michael submitted police reports about the things Sonny was responsible for, not Carly.
