The Wendy Williams Show - General Discussion
DrivingSideways replied to David T. Cole's topic in The Wendy Williams Show
Kevin's mother was a huge Wendy fan and very charming, but also very entertaining to listen to. Yes, it was not due to Wendy's stellar interview skills that the interview was a winner for me. Wanda said she was very hard on her son and it paid off... wonder what Wendy was thinking about her own family story. -

Off the Wendy hate train for a moment... saw Wendy interview Kevin Durant's mom tonight. It was a really cute interview and I love Mama Durant. She could probably have her own show. -

This. I remember being shocked that Wendy was mocking her, especially since she was shaming her audience and Suzanne for innocuous laughter all the time. Why would you shade a possible victim of a rape, and besides that, Andrea may have Dolezal-esque hair at times but she's attractive. While we are petty - remember when Wendy thought it was so so funny that Randy Jackson had 'hair like the Holland Tunnel'? She repeated it like 8 times. AND IT WAS NOT FUNNY. I love Norman's 'there goes crazy Aunt Wendy again' faces. -

Aaaaaand Wendy is lecturing the audience again for tittering at something 'inappropriate'. Wendy, you're not Oprah. If you talk about something, we assume you're coming with the humor. I've always thought her 'coke addiction' story was mostly bullshit anyway. -

Well, well, well... I've often suspected Wendy reads the boards here (Hi, Wendy!) but 4 minutes into today's show she's apologizing to Suzanne and wiping away the tears. Wendy, bring back the white guy who used to stand beside Norman. He was cute! -

Girrrrrrllll.... Wendy SNAPPED at Suzanne and Suzanne looked PETRIFIED. Then Wendy caught herself and lightened the mood. Like Wendy doesn't laugh at inappropriate shit all the time. Her poor staff must have some stories. -
S01.E08: Merchants of Fear
DrivingSideways replied to a topic in Leah Remini: Scientology And The Aftermath
Leah seemed to go at Mike Rinder very hard in this episode, to keep him accountable for the abuses he was responsible for. I thought it was interesting, maybe a reaction to comments on this board that he wasn't fully owning the things he did, or just seeming very detached at times? I thought it was odd that Scientology didn't have a specific rebuttal to the gentleman who was an Operation Freakout principal. He really broke my heart. On a shallow note, did anybody notice an incredibly soft focus whenever the camera was on Leah? Vaseline smeared all over the lens. -
S34.E14: No Good Deed Goes Unpunished / S34.E15: Reunion
DrivingSideways replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Survivor
I went into this season liking Debbie for some reason I can't recall. She's the worst. And as much as Tai bugs the crap out of me, Brad was borderline abusive to him. I'm so happy Sarah won. She seems humorless and like she's had a hard life, but essentially a good person who played the game seriously. Her humanity came out with the Zeke situation. Of all people, it was so sweet of Michaela to defend her game play - the bitter jury is so ridiculous. Sarah wasn't a villain, she just pivoted as she had to, to stay in the game. I also thought it was magnanimous of Sarah to apologize to Cirie. Even if Cirie was doing it to help her, it was still an underhanded move to use someone's advantage against them, and it was fair that Sarah took out Michaela to punish her. Great season of Survivor!! I hope the next one keeps up the momentum!- 384 replies

Maybe Wendy has the research that shows that 85% of her audience tunes out after Hot Topics, and doesn't bother to pretend to give a shit about any of the rest of the show. -

Ummmm... did anybody catch Wendy's story about banging into a car in the parking lot, driving off, and the cops had to come to her house? I was enjoying her show today and she dropped that story - really, bitch? Leave a note, you can afford it! I love Wendy as an entertainment icon, but she seems like a really self centered, difficult human to deal with on a personal level. -
I forgot about that! Gosh, Clay was such a buffoon. That was a really uncomfortable season, just a lot of unlikeable people... I felt so bad for Cirie. She really got screwed. Is this the only reward that wasn't transferrable? If so, that's pretty serendipitous that it got played out in this way. Sarah seems very humorless and constantly has a worried look on her face, but I respect the way she's playing the game and she thought quickly on her feet when Cirie tried to blindside her with the vote. Taking out Michaela may have been a pyrrhic victory, she should have just gone for Cirie, but maybe Tai wouldn't agree to that. Either way, great episode, I am enjoying this season. Probst is irritating but he's an integral part of the show for me. I'll keep him :-)

I think the Ask Wendy segments are just people who want to show off cute outfits or act over the top for attention. The questions are so stupid that they can't be real. -

Yes! My partner always points out her waffle hose and they drive him up the wall. I never noticed it before he pointed it out. Who knew Wendy was so textural? -

Are my old eyes going, or was Wendy's cleavage blurred out on today's show?? It looked like there was pixilation all around her neckline. -

I'm glad I pushed through these first two eps because the show, for me, really picks up in Episode 3. This episode, with the black and white and the kid, was all a little precious for me. -

I trudged through Season 1 of this show. It received raves and I was never quite sure why. But this episode was terrible, and boring, and poorly acted... I just don't get the success of MON. I guess based on the lack of activity on these boards, it's not very successful... -
S09.E240: Reunion Part 4
DrivingSideways replied to zoeysmom's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
What is frugal ground? I think she's been hanging with Porsha and Apollo too much. Phaedra deserves firing... on the other hand, she made this season interesting . I would love to watch her come back and grovel next season... they could offer her $200K and she would probably take it. How else is she going to make money? -

I actually thought Wendy shut her down pretty good by responding, "Well it's discussed extensively in your book which you are here to sell..." I love Gabby and was glad Wendy gave her two segments. -
S09.E23: Reunion Part 3

Did Andy really quote himself on tonight's reunion? You're horrible Andy, please try to stay out of the drama. Refresh my memory - did we know that Kandi had issued a cease & desist on Porsha? And if so, how were they able to discuss it as much as they did? I was not expecting Porsha to flip and throw Phaedra under the bus. Next week looks amazing! -

Nick's schtick is a bit annoying but I give him respect for letting Wendy go at him so harshly. Leather jacket and no shirt is really douchy though. -
S09.E22: Reunion Part 2
DrivingSideways replied to zoeysmom's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
Can anyone refresh my memory as to how Phaedra and Bob Whitfield are friendly? I missed that in the past and was surprised to see Phaedra schooling him to apologize to Sheree in the van after he was smirking about beating her. Speaking of Sheree, when they showed the clip, twice, of Sheree saying to Nene, "Ooooh dont make that faaaaaace..." reminded me of why I use to love Sheree, and why she's kind of a bore now. She's just too nice now. Sheree was always best when she was going low and a few beats away from taking off her earrings and taking you outside. I thought she bullied Kim Z in the past but the petty part of me thought it was pretty hilarious. I have to say, it is glorious to see Phaedra finally being raked over the coals for her years and years of lies and absolutely never getting called on it. From what I hear, she will pay big in Part 4. I don't wish ill will on her, but her ability to look at her cast mates and us, the audience, and just fabricate stuff, has always made me question her. It's no surprise she ended up with a criminal. -
I've always kind of liked Scheana, she seemed a bit smarter than the morons that populate this show, but last night was a bad look for her. She was right to dump Shay, because they are too young and immature to be married. I couldn't help it, I googled Dat Dope Group, the first two songs featured were Cocaina and Aww Skeet Skeet. I'm so glad I'm not in my 20's anymore.... Anyway, I'm sure there is plenty of drug use in this group, Shay probably has additional problems that compounded any issues he has with substances, and I understand him feeling a bit judged. However, he doesn't seem happy, and the circles he runs in (Dat Dope Group and this dopey group) don't seem healthy for someone who may have struggles.

I don't think Shape of You and No Scrubs sound anything alike? I was surprised that Kandi got a writing credit for that. Phaedra is disgusting. I cannot wait for the reunion!
