  1. America sucks at choosing. They tend to stick with whomever works with their choice of music, in a certain genre, and in a certain box. That's been proven with the outcome of most seasons of The Voice. It would've been interesting to see Mari on a different team (besides Blake's). But I don't see her style of music getting any recognition on the show. Would be lovely on the radio though. Jej has a great voice but he isn't intelligent in the way that he chooses and arranges music. There's something off about him. I don't know if it's because The Voice has limited him or if he's the one who made the bad decisions. Maelyn is unique and has so much control over her voice. She rarely hits a bad note, unlike in every single other contestant on the show (besides maybe Shawn). There's a reason she already has some recorded music. Not everyone's cup of tea in terms of genre but it's amazing to watch.
  2. Mari is one of the best singers in the competition. She's unique, unlike Blake's whole team. Hopefully she achieves some success in the way she wants to. (I also loved Maelyn, Oliv, and Shawn's performances)
  3. Somnifix is one of the stupidest things I've seen on the show in a long time. Getting people to use things that don't restrict their mouth is hard enough, even when they're aware of health issues and/or they are greatly annoying a partner. Asking someone to wear something on their mouth is a huge ask. I don't get how it would be useful for sports in particular. I guess Mark wants to market it for/with athletes, saying that it will lead to better sleep and therefore better performance. Anyhow, it was weird. Clothes don't really need to have a point though, besides (maybe) covering you up. A lot of fashion is just a way to express oneself. He's not targeting people who work with overalls. He's trying to figure out what the next big thing will be. Men and women have been wearing tight-fitting clothing in recent years, so he probably though these overalls would be a good idea. They're not, but I don't see it as any different compared to a lot of other fashion trends.
  4. I didn't get that choice by John either. Oliv has a beautiful voice and a lot of confidence. She was absolutely perfect for his team. I guess he saw a lot of potential in Kayslin. I hope Blake lets Oliv have a say in her song choices, or he looks into what might work best with her voice.
  5. Mark is so annoying with his, "you have to say yes right now". Ugh.
  6. To be fair, English isn't his first language. It's quite hard to be charming and funny in a different language and he obviously hasn't grasped it yet. For all we know, he could be outgoing and have more of a personality with his own friends or colleagues. But I do agree that Mary is choosing him for the wrong reasons and he's not a long-term prospect. I liked Christine for a while and then realized that she is sometimes the very thing she calls other women—two-faced. She spends some alone time with the women to get more info out of them (probably egged on by the producers), shares stories with the women and seems like she relates, but then goes on the attack when one aspect isn't to her liking or something rubs her the wrong way. Davina is the worst. She's just a bummer and full of jealousy.
  7. Who are these crazy people choosing Adam?
  8. Yes, she's won with female contestants, but that doesn't mean guys don't have a chance on her team. One does not rule out the other. It just so happens that she chose certain women to represent her team as time went on, and she obviously made the right decision because they won. Jej is going to make it far.
  9. I'm not surprised the Curl Mix folks didn't take the deal. And even if they ended up liking the percentage, why take a deal with a guy who can't see something as obvious as what side of the head had defined curls and which side didn't? It was ridiculous.
  10. Team Cleen had way too much power after winning that first challenge.
  11. Variations of this exist in other cultures, like classical Indian music. But I agree it's valued much higher than it should be in these competitions now. It shouldn't be used all over the place.
  12. So excited to hear Gravity on this show. No one can out-sing Sara Bareilles on her own music (the depth of her voice is astounding to hear), but I'm glad Jackie Foster tried.
  13. I quite liked Roly's outfit. It suits him. This is the one of the only times that I didn't think Josh had the best tattoo of the night, but he ended up winning. Oh, well. He deserved it for his previous tattoo work, I suppose. I can't stand DJ. He needs professional help for his outbursts.
  14. I doubt one or two people on Twitter had any influence over her choice. What's more likely is that she looked at all the stats herself or asked people she trusted and figured it out. Also, it's entirely possible that she believes Christiana is more special AND more popular than Terrence and voted that way. Alicia is somewhat strategic in her decisions.
  15. Skin trauma is pretty serious regardless. It's just that you can't see it much in this image or any of the images that were presented unless you look closer, just like most skin trauma. And the image itself is beautiful. So I have no problems with this in that Instagram account. It's just weird that some people are downplaying skin trauma.
  16. His looks? He's alright but if I were voting based on looks it would've gone to Dylan. Or one of the women. Unless you're talking about a specific demographic of women. But even then I doubt that was the case here. A lot of people loved Pryor in the beginning. I don't get it. Team Alicia was better than all the other teams put together. Too bad they had to eliminate contestants this way.
  17. Josh's tattoos are killer. Not a fan of how dark that red was for the monochromatic tattoo and he obviously can't handle not being in charge, but overall he definitely had the best tattoo of the night. And it was quite obvious that Roly should've gone home. I did like that he chose a different colour scheme from the others though.
  18. Reid is objectively a great singer. But the way he pronounces words while singing bothers me. It's a style that may be natural to him (and everyone else who does the same thing, and there are many) but it doesn't sound good to me.
  19. There are quite a few artists who Jaclyn shares a similar sound with. They're constantly on indie playlists. I quite enjoyed the special effects and backup vocals, that's what made it a classic 2000s rock performance to me. But I used to listen to the song all the time while in school.
  20. I went in wanting Jaclyn to win, but by the end I was convinced that Britton was the better vocalist and performer. His performance was raw and emotional. Blake has worked with many female performers and has gone quite far with them, but I don't feel like Jaclyn is unique enough amongst today's popular artists to stand out. As for Chloe, there was something different about her. She was unique (especially compared to other Voice contestants), yet seemed familiar. She and Blake made some very smart song choices. There are many elements that have to come together in order for an artist to win.
  21. Alicia's En Vogue song selection was on point. I enjoyed this episode.
  22. If I had to choose one of those two tattoos to put on my body, it would've been Gary's. I can't stand wonky eyes.
  23. Hated Team DJ's flash challenge win. What the hell kind of image was that? Team Anthony should've won.
