Right they are "Joeying" him. Similar to Joey on Friends at one point you can't say: "The best characters don't change." However, Sheldon does remember and learn from his mistakes. Him not knowing REO Speed Wagon. Sure no problem, however him not getting when someone says; "I like to hit that." Should be: "Why would you hit that girl, that's illegal." Instead of knowing a figure of speech or slang.

That's what really made me hate what they did with Lilly this episode. When she just comes off saying: "Oh, and I ate grandpa's sandwich." Which she then kind of smiles at it came off as just completely mean. Haley eating it, would have sold the subplot and been funny. It would have been in character for Haley too, that she ate the sandwich on her eating binge. However, to have this BIG reveal that Lilly had been messing with Gloria's mind and then at the end say she ate the sandwich just because. Came off as not only mean spirited and made you want to go: "Where the hell was that coming from?"

Good writing also wouldn't have thrown an "unexpected pregnancy" in the show either.

Was watching last night when Tool Time goes to the Blacksmith Farm (played by the late Graham Davis). So much is really off in this episode. First of all, when Alvin says that Tim made him wait by the manure pile before he came in. It wasn't Tim's barn, why would Alvin just stay there and when he came in he was just behind the corner. Where was Alvin and his manure pile? Plus, Tim is turning his jokes every time he can and Alvin is getting annoyed. However, you can tell Tim is joking and even Heidi is laughing a few times, yet Alvin acts like Tim is some little kid who just walked all over his lawn. Then when Tim pitches Alvin's thumb with the tongs, you can see that Tim purposely goes after Alvin's thumb. What? Why would Tim do that and why would Alvin not move his thumb when he could see that Tim had the tongs around him. Also, how did Whiskey Joe so quickly move towards Heidi that she could turn around and both of them face the camera that fast after Alvin was trying to hurt both Tim and Al with the tongs. Another thing, why is Alvin so upset with Al, he didn't do anything yet he is going after both of them.

Still to get them in those key locations without anyone seeing Lilly. Didn't work. The first time worked, but the last time, how did she get it there so easily.

That's why I hated the ending, her delivery and saying why she did things with the doll to Gloria and then just admitting she ate Jay's sandwich. It was right up with why Jay was accusing Phil and Cam of eating it. They both looked at him like: "Why would we do that? Hello have we met?" I'm still trying to get over the fact that Lilly was able to quickly swoop outside, grab the Dede doll, get it back in the fridge without anyone hearing her. Then to magically eat a sandwich that was very big in a matter of seconds and no one noticing her or even going: "Why do you smell like Jay's sandwich?"

It's just down right bad now and just showing they really shouldn't have written Baby D into the show just because the creator of the series had a "surprise child" so late in life. It's not even funny, it's badly written and even makes some of the story lines from last season just look even more badly written. This is a couple that had 4 kids, survived ups and downs with all four kids and are still dealing with them. Yet, they act like they don't know how much time goes into a kid that just over a year old.

I guess I just blur season 6-7 of Jill too much seeing the seasons back to back like this. However, as you pointed out there ares some just odd episodes that just don't fit together in the large scheme of things in season 7. Then when you get to season 8 the first part is building to JTT leaving the show and then the show trying to fill in Randy's absence, which works for several episodes. However, you see that turn again in season 8 when they knew they were not coming back for another season and had just 6 episodes to wrap things up.

Wow! The writers have really turned Lilly into a bitch. I mean freaking out Gloria (magically never being seen). Then eating Jay's sandwich, I mean why? These are two people who have treated her well and always been there for them and it's: "I knew Nana would want me to mess with Gloria." "Oh and I ate grandpa's sandwich." I wanted to smack her.

Season 7 is such an off year, feels like they thought out some stories and then didn't think out the others. Plus, this is where Jill really got horrible on things from Angela doing Brad's chores to Tim wanting his old car back. Season 8 shows that they had things planned out until Tim Allen didn't want to do another season and JTT leaving the show. So, they were trying to refocus and then later figure out how to end the show.

The pregnancy with Lisa was a last minute idea in case the show was picked up for season 2. It was filmed as an alternate to the season 1 finale. It's pretty much a safe bet they had no idea how to resolve it or what to do with it. The cast is great, but sadly, the show is so poorly written and the story lines just come down to: "these are people that don't know how to talk with each other."
-
Also add in the fact people are seeing it and going: "You are now doing everything so the concept of the show remains." people are going to check out. I also notice they are booking the actors on more talk shows like Cobert and Kimble. That shows desperation, same with Jena and Oliver showing up on Pyramid this summer.
-
Also sign to see if they need to wrap up the series if they don't pull in the ratings in November. They are all in the "modest" ratings area. Unlike The Conners, American House Wife and Black-ish who's ratings are great.
-
Either that or the episodes were filmed out of order. You can never tell these days.

Depending on how many precincts their are also determine if there are things such as: Section Chiefs, Training Captains, ect. Something that drives me crazy between Blue Bloods and Station 19, they do the basics on positions of rank on both shows. They have things with Frank as Commissioner fine, he was a cop and many commissioners are usually former cops who made it at least to captain level. Unlike on Station 19, they have a Fire Chief that majority of the them didn't know what he looked like. Had two battalion chiefs and then the usual ranks of captain and lieutenants, but don't work with deputy chiefs or section chiefs in any form. Then they complain that the Fire Chief is responsible for scheduling who responds to who, when that's not their jobs. They are in charge of making sure the section and Captains are doing that. Much like Frank as the Commissioner, yet they act like he has to know EVERYONE's little duty and pieces. No, that's not his job.

Yes, that is how it works. The problem is, there have been no moral gray on his character or any of the other city officials. They are either on one end of the spectrum or on the other. They do good, but are self-righteous. Or they they are self righteous and are blinded by their own missions.

Exactly. I had two classmates in college, one who had spinal bifidia and another who had a form of CP. They had their issues, but they told me that it was up to sophomore year that their parents finally realized they could direct their own lives to the T. They had regular problems, but they were still capable to knowing when to need help and when they were fine heading to Target on a bus to get groceries or head to a party and have fun. I think that's the problem with helicopter parents of both regular and disabled people. They don't know when to back off thinking that they will always need them all the time, like with Lee's mother. The problem also comes up when: "Are you going to live forever?"

Proving more that the character is going to be introduced and everyone will be: "Who is this and why should we care if they are just going to argue politics and the American Way with Mike?"

Really enjoyed the episode and I felt that Maya did learn her lesson very well. I get Jimmy's POV perfectly, how I felt for years. I grew up in a duplex, divorced and remarried families. I went from a normal looking two story to at times going to visit my father in a very luxury home to see my siblings. I live now in a very nice house that is between those two, but I cared more about keeping the bills paid and the family happy. Then if I have a deck or some awesome man cave or play room. Of course, it also goes back thinking about the DiMeos crap shack on how much the previous owner was so against everything and just let the house run down like that. I don't get some "slumlords" like that. They have a good neighborhood, houses that are kept up and they just rather take money from people and throw them out if there are: pets, decide to replace a broken door or paint a room that has the paint peeling off. They are: "how dare you touch my property" instead of: "Well damn, that was nice of you and you just increased the value of my property." Even Jimmy saying how some of the windows are plastic and not glass makes you wonder how the house was not condemned if the fuse box was having so many problems. Of course that is also the thing between reality and fiction happens. Even in "gang" neighborhoods, when a house is not working, they are boarded up by the city and then people try to squat or something. In the Speechless Universe, houses go until they almost burn down. School Faculty are a bunch of morons who are so strict on rules that they have a locked up cabinet where someone can just walk in and grab stuff like the candy. Plus, could they make the Vice Principal any more or a doof? How was this guy ever a teacher let alone be made an administrator. Do people who are great teachers become lousy administrators? Sure and vice versa. However, it's basically: "Who passed their administrator test?" "Me!" "Ok, you're a vice principal/principal, now be a walking rule book who would even embarrass the school board."

That's the problem, she isn't even trying. McCook is just copying everything from her Ephram's moves to even how she treats Kyle. All she is being is a 5'10, blonde version of Mandy and it's JUST NOT WORKING! This isn't like when they replaced both Ryan and Kristin in season 2. Nick Jonas was in ONE episode. Masterson taking over the role, they just flipped the entire background of the character. He just acted what they gave him, he is Ryan in his sense of the character. After everything with Fuller, they just threw everything out and just made her a moron and Fuller ran with that. Only thing McCook has been for four episode is just copying Mandy. Even if TPB kept saying she would make Mandy her own character, she has not. Now, they are putting in a completely new character and have pushed Ed and Eve off as reoccurring due to schedule and health reasons. The episode also falls apart with: Kyle, Mandy, Ryan and Kristin instead of Mike and Chuck's plot and trying to prank Vanessa and Jay Leno. So, the reason why Mandy and Kyle don't have their house built is because they have been just leaving the trailer there until they felt like doing something with the land for the house. It's been almost 2 yeas since that plot was talked about with Kyle's mother dying and leaving him the property. Plus, Kyle dealing with wondering why a parent just leaves their kid. Instead of having that deal with Ryan's old crap leaving everyone early on. They turned it into Mike: "Get out of my damn house!" Now, it's: "Hey, I'm Mike trying to be Tim Taylor from the 90s Halloween episodes on pranks when two years ago, I HATED Halloween for some stupid reason!" This foreign exchange student plot coming in next episode if they continue the trend for the past 4 episodes, is going to crash on them.
-
Apparently LMS is trying too hard to be Home Improvement at Halloween now. Also, all the cop had to do was: "Ma'me, here is my damn badge and this is a real gun, do you want me to shoot your fucking pumpkin to prove I have people in the back of a REAL police car?" My God! McCook is horrible as Mandy. I mean, after 4 episodes, she is horrible! Plus, next week we get the new Chineese exchange student and there has been ZERO build up to it. She is planned on being on the rest of the season. Yeah, just end the show for good now.

I'm still surprised they are going to drag out Bishop's hearing issues from the water heater exploding in the garage fire episode (still hate that episode) from last season. Because people are noticing she is acting funny at times. Either not hearing their complete conversation or the new captain realizing she has the volume way up and a few other things. However, they need the drama. However, just like Papa Herrea with not telling anyone about his cancer until he collapsed during a fire. Bishop is setting herself up for getting someone almost killed. If her hearing goes completely out during a major disaster and she can't hear anyone on her call or anyone trying to talk to her. They keep hyping up she can become a LT., however a true leader also knows when to stand up and let others know they have a problem. It's all a pride thing with her right now. As for the new captain, I'm liking him more and also they have him being stern, but fair. Even more, he is seeing why Station 19 gets upset at other stations and so forth. You have the other stations going: "Oh... we'll be right there." Then 20 or more minutes later they finally show up and as he said: "Just in time to secure the barn after the horse has already gotten out and ran." Same goes with Ryan's little side story. I'm sorry, doesn't matter where you are at, if there is an Amber Alert and you know you have the suspect, they were would be helicopters and 3 other local cars including the sheriff's office there. But oh no, on this show, everyone is on their own and everyone sits and picks their nose and then when they get yelled at how they aren't doing their jobs. They go complain to Chapman or the Police Chief: "Dad... they are being mean, wahhhh!" "Those damn Station 19 kids and their friends, I'm going to give them a spanking!"

Completely agree. Give Speechless a better audience and go see if really anyone cared about Splitting Up on Fridays.
-
Moving Speechless to try and get a new TGIF going along with Fresh Off the Boat (season 5 anyone), with two new shows that are ok really wasn't not a good decision by ABC. As for Splitting Up Together it was because The Middle ended and Rosanne Barr got herself fired from her own show. Even reviews for the premiere said: "Why is this show still around when you have other shows that are more worthy of the time slot like Speechless."

I say more that Arvin is written basically as the: "He is so smart and perfect, but acts like an idiot at times because smart people can't be attractive, smart and socially set." That's the problem wtih Dylan. It's not the actor, it's not the chemistry. It's just you have to tell us: Here is a guy who just wonders through life, he latches onto whatever looks good ie: nursing, sign spinning, marrying a doctor, ect. Yet, he either drops out or can't remember that 2+2=4. No one truly just says: "Dylan, you have no goals unless you see someone else doing it or you keep coming up with dumb stuff." Everyone is more of: "Oh, he and Haley are perfect for each other." or "Where the hell is a car to run you over?" That is what I don't like about Dylan, it comes to a point where he is just another person who falls up to success because no one calls him on it.
