  1. I agree that was my least favorite episode Ro, it really went against who she was and her relationship with Riker. I found more closure in her final episode when she said to Riker: "Tell the Captain, Will... that I'm sorry." to
  2. I love the Sisko and Ebert spoof episode where Slappy went ballistic on the fact that they didn't find her funny and time had not been good to her. I remember her going to Roger Ebert: "Would you like buttery artificial topping with your popcorn?" Roger: "Sure, what's it made out of?" Slappy: "It's made out of lard, like the kind of life o sucking from you right now!"
  3. An episode that still cracks me up to this day is when Dr. Scratch N'sniff was giving his history and explained when he first met them. The line with Dot: "Dot, may I call you Dot?" Dot: "Sure, but if you call me Dotty, I'll kill you!" Small silence: "Yes, umm..."
  4. Oh I agree, he could be very scary. Main times that I thought he was going to tear someone in half was Becky's grocery store manager, when Leon was trying to buy Roseanne out of The Lunchbox, When he yelled at Becky for messing around with his bike with Mark and of course when David told Dan he had been living with Darlene at college.
  5. Mrs. Readster and I were just watching Dan's 39th/PMS episode, wow! There are moments that are hilarious and moments where I was waiting for the family to push Roseanne out of a speeding car. Ok, here is the truth, I hate sitcoms who write women that they mood swing like no one's business when it's that time of the month. However, have I, my wife or even my brothers seen or experience women from 14 and up having mood swings and PMS like no tomorrow? Oh yes, however, we you know knew how to open our mouths and go: "Ok, enough!" "We know you are being ruled by hormones right now, but stop treating us like we are to blame for anything. If you did this to a cop you would be arrested." Guess what? They walked away and later apologized. The episode problems is that Jackie, Crystal and the girls acted like they had never seen Roseanne like this. Dan has known since Day 1 that Roseanne gets that bad every "28 days" as he put it. Yet, by the end of the episode, Roseanne thinks Dan gets like this every month, when he is worn out from dealing with her shift in personalities. That was showing early on Roseanne being so self centered at times, she doesn't see her own faults.
  6. That's exactly it. Even when Kira told Beriel back when Winn became kai Beriel told her: "She'll take us places we would could never imagine." I wanted to tell him: "She'll bring you to chaos because she is a hypocrite." I never had a problem when she ended up turning towards the Pa Wraiths and her ending because it has been building for years. She just liked the power and being in charge and sadly, there were plenty of Bajorians who believed in that because of Cardassian rule, they felt everyone was just going to conquer and kill them.
  7. I am surprised they are making Gladstone got that route unlike how he was in both the comics and the original series. He was unnatural lucky, but he was happy go lucky too. Here he is more of a rival who just falls into good fortune if he farts. As Beaks, that's an actual good idea given current billionaires who have the money, but care more about social presence and a few other things. I like they going to try and keep the Beagle Boys to the same voice actor to show more relationship between the various brothers. I know Magica is going to show up, but I wonder who will be her voice. Flintheart looks down right mean, I love it!
  8. Yes to all this. Becky towards the end of Lecy's original portrayal was just too much at times. Sarah's version was so needly and ungrateful and then during season 8 they flip a coin to see who she was next.
  9. I know, it was a satisfying conclusion to Eddington's story, who had been around since season 1. I agree, he got more interesting and his turn when he revealed himself to be a Maquis was a shock. However, also think the ending where he saw all the Maquis pretty much dead, everything ruined and going: "But we were about to win." Sisko: "Yes, you drove them out, right into the arms of the Dominion." Both Eddington and Sisko were both right about the causes and also wrong. Eddington was right, the Federation should have handled the Demilitarized Zone with Cardassia a long time ago instead of just trying to be: "their best friends and let others die." However, Sisko was right too, their insurgency was not the right way to go, but understood why they did it. Even Picard understood in Ro Laren's final episode back during the final season of TNG.
  10. Exactly, because that Odod spent decades with the grief, much like Dax did. Since it was Dax's fault because she just had to make a discovery and didn't think twice of just sending a probe first and if it was too dangerous for the probe. They would have went home but it was: "Come on Benjamin, let's make a discovery!"
  11. Yep, exactly! I mean it was a great scene between the principal and Roseanne. However, I think Jackie said it best: "You think after all these years, the photographers would get wise. We had one kid in our class photo do it and the photographer saw it just as he snapped, but back in the film days, you only had so much film to use and school's had to pay for. However, that classmate of mine was not only in so much trouble as no one else did it, he realized he didn't want to do it. Just he thought he be funny and thought he do it after the picture was snapped instead of before. Joke waso on him. It was also the final strike on him as he didn't graduate and had to get his GED a few years later because he was always doing stuff like that. Now, with digital, you can see the preview and kids that do that are immediately taken out and the photo retaken. However, I do hate admin who immediately blame the parents for a kid's behavior, when seriously, unless there is a long history of the kid doing that. It doesn't make sense. As we found out with Becky, her feeling Mark was going to leave and never come back did more damage than lying about flipping off the camera. I didn't like super dumb down Becky that started with the elopement and Lecy leaving the series because when Sarah took over, just wow! It was like: "Who is this character, because this is not Becky in any shape or form."
  12. Yeah, I also loved how we got such a deeper look into Klingon culture in this episode. They weren't all stared for battle or wanting gigantic glory. They were people trying to make their way in life and they were at war. Plus, it was a nice start for Martok to begin his journey to what I thought was a very satisfying conclusion when we got to the last episode. As this episode started which lead to my favorite line by him by the end of the series: "I am not a politician, funny how life turns out."
  13. How true and I actually liked Dan's talk with Becky about why Roseanne had such a problem with it. Then why they broke up in the first place and then why they got back together was handle very realistically. The school finger photo just aired last night, I thought it was handled perfectly with how all the parents reacted and giving us a look into what early 90s education admin really saw why students did bad. Or they would brand them for one mistake (Now, it's they never let them forget their mistakes). I loved when Dan told Becky why he got suspended in school for snoring in detention. Meaning he did something minor but then fell asleep because he was bored. Even loved Roseanne going: "Well, you shouldn't have done it, but there are bigger things I be more upset about and that you have done." Also the introduction to Chuck's family was nicely built starting here.
  14. Right, it's how it came off, not exact words. As you can tell, not my favorite pieces of the character. I do love Eve but when they did this with her character like with Mandy's: "I'm so air headed I see dust in the wind." It goes too far, not like with Kristin or Ryan where they constantly pushed them to be so unlikable.
  15. I agree, I said it over in the Becky thread. They had all three kids handle sex in a very realistic and not "over the top" matter. It was very refreshing.
  16. Completely agree. Was one of the best handled with both of them. I even was happy with DJ and his girlfriend later towards the shows end. They worked as a couple and wasn't one sided, odd or Dan high fiving DJ going: "Way to go son." They had pretty regular relationships and did go overboard.
  17. Seeing some of the episodes on Laff lately. I can't believe how much Becky was all about: "Me, me, me!" Yes, kind of like Roseanne, but she had a very sad way of looking at things. Mark got a job out in Minnesota, what did she say: "My life is over, because you are moving away. Let's get married." When Roseanne thought she was pregnant again, Becky talked about how the baby was going to take away her Sweet 16 party, getting a car and so forth. Then in the birth control episode she admitted Mark and her had already done it and felt she had done things backwards getting birth control after the fact. She even said it wasn't a spur of the moment or anything, they just had sex already. Becky was very on the dime thought process. She never thought ahead. Was made worse when Sarah took over the role.
  18. Yeah, that made no sense on that. I mean, Manny's dad looked like he has a pretty nice car with security. So, why he thought his gown and cap would be stolen made little senese. I know it was a plot contrivance, but that didn't make much sense. AS for Manny going East, nope! Never said.
  19. Very good point, you can even go a step farther talking about outsourcing and how Roseanne's original factory job closed down in the late 90s do to that or how independent businesses like the hair salon were able to boom due to entrepreneurship and that helped the Lunch Box. Or how data entry became a normal in businesses. Be a nice way for the Connors to see that if they wouldn't have set themselves in: "Don't live above your raising." They could have done fine in life.
  20. Thanks, I mean I agree on all points and while they didn't have the characters say exact words of: "I hate you, you are a moron, ect." That's how it came off as. They had some very WTF episodes this season and some of the ones that stand out to me besides the Little Free Library episode where Eve paint bombed Chuck to find out who was the mysterious writer that Vanessa wanted to know (still comes off as odd). The church episode was just super odd. First of all, Vanessa was written like it was 1963 and wanting her two grown daughters, who can make their own decisions, have their own cards, ect. Can decide if they want to go to church themselves. Also, never made sense since Kyle is very dedicated to his church, why Mandy wouldn't go with him. Then you add in Ryan who is Mr. Anti-everything because of how a horrible privileged life he had until he knocked up his girlfriend. Constantly rips at organized religion is not shown or seen and Kristin who was barely in the episode just magically shows up in the last 4 minutes of the episode with Boyd. Then add in Mike magically turned their pastor's sermons to a comedy piece who was dry and out himself. Made a complete:"What was the point of this episode." Then add in Mike's biggest fan who won the essay contest and has been interpreting Mike's vlogs as anti-government was completely disturbing. First of all, the way it was written, the essay contest sounded like it was people in high school or college, not for someone close to Mike's age. Second of all, Mike could have called the police on the guy, because he was coming off as a guy about to snap and yet Ed was like: "Oh, just let him be." The episode was apparently trying to have it where Mike was going to get a wake up call for his straw man, short sighted POV attitude that had been in the character since season 2. Instead, they had it come off as a bad joke where Mike tricked the guy into thinking not only what he was saying was true and all anti-government, but he was some secret HYDRA commander. The episode couldn't end fast enough. I'm not even going to talk about the season premiere with the Bear. The show was so out of steam and having major WTF episodes, why is everyone shocked it was cancelled?
  21. Both hit the points exactly. Yes, she had long hair, dressed like a girl and so forth, but it was pushed way to hard on her wanting to be more of a boy and even Mike saying: "What did you do to my boy." at one point when she was dressed up by Mandy in one episode. Then add in the prom episode where Mandy said: "Look, I made a girl." Followed by the end of season 2 when she went to the dance, looked absolutely beautiful and even her reaction of: "Mom, I'm not sure I can do this, I don't have big boobs, I don't have a whale tale (g string look)" ect. That should have come off more of a girl not ready for high school and expecting to fit in like the other girls. However, then they went way too far with Eve's view on what sports should be, or going completely like Mike's attitude and views on the world. Because even critics said: "They made her into a mini-Mike and that's not really a good thing." They could have had Eve take a lot of Mike's views, but still been her own character. Because the conflict they wanted to put Eve with Mandy and Kris and Vanessa at times were too much. Which even made Vanessa's character more and more air headed and missing her spine when it came to several episodes. However, as I have said, her conversation with Eve when she finally got over herself not getting into Westpoint and joining the Airforce was one of the best written and acted scenes between them in the history of the show. As for Boyd they put it that Eve did not like babysitting her nephew and it came from being annoyed to almost looking hateful at times. That could have been the way they both wrote and acted the scenes. But Eve could have said: "Kristin, I love Boyd, but I don't want to do this, I'm not your babysitter when you want. I am 15 and I'm still in school and have a life." Instead it came off as looking pretty mean.
  22. True, but yeah, Season 2 Eve was: "Dammit! I hate Boyd!" "Dammit! I want to be a boy!" Followed by Ryan does something completely stupid and really mean, but Vanessa and Kristin have to agree with him.
  23. What's worse is Mike got more and more bitter about things. I mean in season 1-3 he loved Halloween or Christmas. This past year, he was all: "I hate holidays, get off my damn lawn." My problem with Eve is they tried to shove the entire tomboy down our throats in the last couple of years. I mean, dear God, her wanting to play "men" sports. Her wanting to quite soccer only to then turn around and act like it was the best thing on Earth. Season 2 Eve was acting like the jealous big sister to Boyd. I mean, locking him in boxes, putting him down the basement, ect. The point was that Boyd was all of a sudden getting the attention she use to have? She was 15 years old! Then they had to have it where guys wanted her to be more "girlfriendish" by taking Eve to dances, wanted her to dress up a little bit more. She hated it like it was the worse thing in the world. Plus they had the guys portrayed as big idiots. Or how about season 4 boyfriend we NEVER saw until the break up episode. He was talked about and even her going to his parents for almost 5 episodes. Then he shows up and then *poof* gone. They made Vanessa so stupid to a point, I'm surprise she could even tie her shoes.
