  1. Yes, being by the border when the war broke out, that I get. However, to have every single senior officer dead? Especially aboard a defiant class war ship. That really was stretching it.
  2. How very true, and as much as they want to throw in: "gay, abortion, ect" as ground breaking. The real ground breaking was the portrayal of struggling working class family who had to deal with world issues like everyone else. I mean, the way they reacted to Leon being gay was very: "Well, you hear it and now we know someone who is." Even Dan's reaction to Nancy wanting to get pregnant was very normal reaction or how they had to deal with Darlene's depression or abuse from other family and even if you are the bigger person, doesn't mean people won't throw it back in their face. Despite how much I hated The Connors' neighbors over the years it was well written and acted.
  3. I agree, and it was stated by AS-P that she did that Jared and other actors when they were free. I remember Jared saying in an interview just after Supernatural was a success saying she thanked Amy for work even when he knew his character didn't need to be there. Once the revival was announced Jared came clean that he hated his last appearance of Dean saying: "I needed work and after I finished taping, got the call for Supernatural." AS-P had such: "I need MY people" to be on my show even when there was no point to them in an episode. Marty's last appearance was because the season 7 showrunners felt the character didn't get any closure, but was badly handled it was better to just let the character fade. Him showing up in The Revival similar to Dean would have made more sense. That he found success, people work for him now and moved on in his life. I have no problem with actors who get work due to friendships with producers, directors, ect. Because true to life, who you know can help get your foot in the door. However, when you "Have to cast them" because you can, you are asking for trouble.
  4. One thing that made me love the Alias series was the mysteries and investigations Jessica took. You can do a villain or Big Bad, but if you drag it out it, it will kill the momentum. Sad to say Season 1 of Iron Fist is a prime example of constant drag out, but Luke Cage was just as guilty after episode 7. For Jessica, I enjoy the personal demons more and since she is now dealing with: "Being famous" and since this is taking place after Defenders. I can see how it will take a toll on Jessica. Now, she has friends, she is a "super hero" again and while some people would be happy for that, for her, that is a big problem. I be happy if the brought in The Hood. Guy who wants to be the Kingpin of Super Villains and came from a similar background as Jessica. You get powers, but it be a nice Ying and Yang where Jessica wants to just go on life and not be a big shot and The Hood wants to do everything to be a big shot.
  5. I've really enjoyed ABC's promo posters for the seasons the last few years. They have been simple, but enjoyable.
  6. I was just watching the Fisher trilogy (X-mas episode to the beating episodes). It was mentioned a while ago, but yeah the signs for Fisher's abuse were shown even before Jackie said in the X-mas episode that he told her to stop seeing the shrink. He was very focused about his job, Jackie worrying more about her own job and not his. Signs of either a controller or abuser trying to remove her support system and that they are right and you should support them. Even when Roseanne was telling Jackie when she was getting her things from their apartment, how Fisher was like their father and want life to repeat with them having kids and Fisher hitting and blaming them for things like their dad did. It was very well written and Laurie Metcalf sold those scenes. I just felt sad for Dan because having an abuser filing assault and battery is still common when others know the person who is the real attacker has the law on their side. However, if it would have been my sister or sister in law I would have gone kicked his ass too.
  7. Yep, Marsha Warfield went on to wrap up Empty Nest the final two seasons and after Charles Robinson various shows ended, he went on to be on Home Improvement and the short lived, Ink series with Ted Danson and Richard Moll found several voice over work in the Batman Animated series and Spider-Man animated series before doing various shows from Babylon 5, Highlander, Baywatch, Suddenly Susan, ect.
  8. The show was very enjoyable for years, I think the problem happened during the last 3 years as Fox kept renewing the series last minute because Mike Judge said he had to keep writing the show to get to a wrap up for the last four years it was on. He didn't want to be suddenly cancelled and not give the show a fitting end. Originally that was suppose to be Luanne and Lucky getting married, and that was delayed two years and they decided to air it and have Luanne give birth. Of course they had killed Cotton off by then and was basically to get Fox to stop renewing the show since they were running out of ideas and had used all 12 unused scripts over the last 5 years. Least with the final episode, it game a sense of conclusion and even had Hank end with accepting who Bobby was.
  9. It was funny, I was looking at "Friday Death Slots" the last few days as research for media classes and it's amazing that there has been a pattern with ABC before and after Disney owned them. They had shows that were successful in on night (LMS was original on Tuesdays) then moved to try to make it work on Friday nights to get ratings. Which, they show did and continued on for another 5 years. However, marked how they had changes usually brought on by the main producer or writers as a result. We know that when they shifted, Tim Allen wanted more of his political beliefs brought up and when the show wanted to age Boyd because of fall outs with the twins playing him from HBO. They did a major change of actors as a result. The show started taking it's nose dive and then there were quick changes. Funny, how history repeats itself.
  10. I agree, that's when the show really started going down hill. Phil being this secret millionaire just was strange. I mean they never explained why he was like that. I mean I get it was slapstick, but it came off so out of left field. Even though I did like that Dan was acting more human afterwards, but when they returned him to his old self in the last season. Felt like everything with the character went out the door. The final episode was so odd, especially where Bull ended up going to Jupiter after they spent all that work getting him married, then divorced and then just done. The said that if the show wouldn't have been renewed last minute before they filmed the final episodes. The show would have had a better exit, but at that point in time, NBC was going through such a change in leadership and about to take off with their shows with "Must See TV" Nightcourt and other shows were to get thrown out to make room for everything.
  11. Which even my mom who was a big fan of the show wondered why that was a problem. Yes, things go up, but there are places to go and she even said: "Hell, they have coupons off of total purchases."
  12. Hildi's designs went one way or the other. I remember watching with my parents at times and we would agree that they room was a disaster or wish she did one of our rooms that way. I always enjoyed Frank or Vern's designs, but there were times that things were just odd on their choices. I do remember one time that Frank was $2 over budget and he handed the two bucks to Paige. I still remember the infamous brown room episode that lead to constant talk about how it ended the friendship of the two neighbors and so forth. Despite that I'm surprised between hay outline rooms, prison bed rooms and I remember one stack cube room that look like it was out of a Playland. Why that didn't happen more often.
  13. It was funny because I had gotten back into comics after almost 7 years due to this series, and when they did that with Morbius and Punisher I was like: "Well, how else were they going to pull this off, it's a kids show?" I did get a kick out of Frank Castle sounding like he was the North Side.
  14. Yes, Yes and Yes. Something that I did like out of Spider-Man Unlimited that was set after the series. They had MJ and Peter together, but then of course put Pete on Counter Earth away from her. Man, I am happy we have RYV too.
  15. This might not be popular opinion, but when Tim Russ did the voice of the Powler. I don't know how, but the man slipped between street cred and vulnerable perfectly. Now, I always enjoyed his acting from Roots to Star Trek, but I don't know why, but he did very well.
  16. I'm a big fan of the X-Men crossover because also you get Mark Hamill as the Hobgoblin, just stealing the scenes. It was beautiful.
  17. Tombstone: "I'm going to take your head off." Swings bat at Spider-Man who takes it right from him. Spider-Man: "What have I told you about playing with this in the house young man?"
  18. They really got Mysterio right on this series. He was always my favorite Spider-Man villain, but they put the origin, motivation and later his exit very well. I mean, they brought the Pirate Automatons into the series. That was a win for me. They even had the Big Wheel and the Spot make sense on this show, of course I always had a soft spot for The Big Wheel. However, I really wish they would have brought Sandman in since they were able to get Electro in before the series ended.
  19. Exactly, see that I could understand no problem. Mudd was always crazy, so to see him like this and by the time he gets to Kirk he has lost a lot of his darker edge due to experience and age. That I can buy.
  20. Yes on all accounts. Even the generals who were men were complete: "Oh um... duh!"
  21. You also have to see how much the war was taxing on both sides. They way people were acting especially: "He was annoying and then he shut up one day because he was killed, then I realized I missed his voice." Telling, scary and shocking at the same time." Something until we saw the Founders dying from the plague that Section 31 made, they started tiring of the war too and it was impacting them too. For once the Dominion was in a battle/war they weren't immediately winning or taking them out in one or two swift actions. Plus, then Cardassia betrayed them, they never saw that coming or the fact that Gul DuKat was basically: "well, we tried the Dominion, I'm going to use the Pa Wraiths because they can do things the Dominion can't do."
  22. Which you have to wonder, I have seen and heard her at conventions and other situations, and they say she is very pleasant to work with and talk to.
  23. True, some people end up that way. My wife's father constantly criticized her and her siblings, but none of them do that at all. My dad was in and out of my life, so I tend to spend more time with my own kids. Then you get some people who go the opposite like your husband, where their home life was tough, but said: "I'm not going to be a parent like that." Some however go too far the other way we have two neighbors and their parents were so strict to them that they let their kids get away with almost everything.
  24. That's what I got, they were basically the same, one cared about her people, the other herself. The Mirror Universe Worf was a war bent person and screw the honor. Unlike our Worf who was bent on honor and his beliefs along with loving his adopted family.
