  1. Same here. And to think The Americans has a much better shot (no pun intended) at an Emmy nomination just breaks my heart. They're not even in the same ballpark.
  2. To be honest, I haven't rewatched it yet, so you may be right. I can't trust my memory.
  3. What I wondered was, why was Ava in the house alone, yet little Zach was off playing by himself, where she couldn't keep an eye on him? They had to walk a ways before she could reveal her son to Raylan. I guess it was for dramatic purposes, but it would have been more realistic (to me, anyway), if she had invited Raylan inside, and then revealed that she had a son. But him being so far from the house, unsupervised, just struck me as odd.
  4. "We dug coal together" - I knew it was coming, but it made me cry, anyway.
  5. My prediction is that they will finally play the version by the person who wrote it... Darrell Scott. Seems right fittin.'
  6. Dewey Crowe comes to mind.
  7. "It smells like a mocha latte."
  8. If you watch again, pay attention to the silver chain around his neck. The camera is focused on it for a moment. Then, it does the same at the end, when it is revealed that it is Danny's son who is wearing it.
  9. Yes, I guess that makes sense. The thing about hiding the drugs behind the wall panel is it makes the criminals look incompetent, since the cops found it so easily. "Ha, ha... they didn't look here!" Yes, it was Danny's son watching. They made a point of zooming in on the chain he was wearing around his neck, which was also zoomed in on when he showed up at John's house. This detail, I did catch. :)
  10. Maybe I was too tired, and missed it, but I am confused over what John and Kevin did in Danny's apartment. They started knocking things over to make it look like a break-in, or that Lowry abducted Danny to kill him? Yet they left the bags of coke in the closet? That didn't make sense to me. I'm sure I missed something. So if anyone can explain, I'd appreciate it. It also would not make sense for Lowry to abduct Danny in Miami, but kill him back in the Keys.
  11. Maybe it would be fair to put a warning up at the top, or something. Fear of being spoiled will keep me away, until I can find the time to get through the next 8 episodes.
  12. Thanks! But what a silly explanation. :)
  13. What, Raylan couldn't simply shoot at the truck's tires to stop it? He really just let Ava go? That was the only part of the episode that felt off to me. The rest? Awesome.
  14. What's the spoiler policy on this kind of show? I've seen the first five episodes only, but just read something here that I didn't know was coming. Should we avoid coming here until we see the whole 13 episodes, just to be safe?
  15. I thought I saw the carcass hanging from a tree, while they were eating. Wasn't very big, from what I remember. Maybe they just got a runt.
  16. I'd love to see a Loretta spin-off. Called (maybe) "Bluegrass" - since "Weeds" has already been used. But Dickie Bennett would have to get out of jail, just to make it more interesting. Mary Louise Parker could guest star.
  17. When Sea Bass walked into their hotel room, gun drawn, I loved how unflappable Katherine was, and the way she just casually pointed at him, and asked Avery, "One of yours?"
  18. But, we only know Saul Goodman as he fit into the BB world. Who knows what Saul was like when not surrounded by the likes of WW and Jesse? Maybe he has not lost all of his kindness. Maybe we just weren't given any opportunities to see it. Or maybe I'm just being unreasonably (and uncharacteristically) generous in spirit today.
  19. Other than her accent slipping a little, I don't understand the criticism of her acting. I finally had to look it up to see where I'd seen her before. She played Rosie on "Luck," a show I dearly loved, and was sad to see cancelled after one season. There, she was able to speak in her own accent, which I found refreshing. Wish more shows would do that. Why couldn't she just be Irish? Not really sure I understand the trend of casting foreign actors to play Americans.
  20. Thank you for reminding me of this. I knew there was a line that I have used many times myself, for years, but this morning I couldn't remember what it was. Boy, getting old sucks.
  21. Since I've had this song in my head all day, I thought I would share it, for those who have never heard it. Merle Travis, "Dark As A Dungeon": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FPmSLzsbdM A version by John Cowan (whose voice I hear when I think of this song): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvRdUz96WCA
  22. Using that phrase may have been just a coincidence, as it certainly has been around for a while, but there's also nothing wrong with BB fans being reminded of the episode, "Half Measures," either, when we hear it. It reminded me of it, as well. And the episode title,"Dark as a Dungeon" reminded me of the song, too. Been in my head all day. Pretty sure that wasn't a coincidence. :)
  23. Funny, because I feel just the opposite. I liked her because her acting didn't seem "affected" in any way. I find the naturalness and normalcy in her character to be quite refreshing. Too easy to go the opposite way on a show like this. Of course, who knows what will be revealed about her later, but while watching her scenes in this episode, I really did think to myself how much I appreciated a female character on this show that wasn't over the top, in some way.
  24. Oh, I don't know.... that desert scene where he bargained with Tuco on the Douchebag Twins's behalf, getting a death sentence down to a broken leg each, was some pretty quick thinking. Not everyone could have done that. I definitely see a lot of Saul in Jimmy... just not quite as well-formed yet.
