  1. Male doctors rarely shave their underarms. No one thinks that is unhygienic.
  2. Christina has a sever case of “I’m better.” She has distain even for the food she’s served. Imagine her response if Henry had gone grocery shopping and bedspread buying. “On my god. This bedspread is awful. Now I have to take it back and get a new one. And the groceries? He didn’t even buy what we needed. Now I have to go and do it over. I’m carrying the whole load. I have to do everything.” Say what you will about Henry’s lack of communication (take a drink,) Christina doesn’t bother to have civil conversation with him even for the camera. “That’s what you’re gong to tell me?” Dripping with condescension and distain. It s seems to me that to carry on the conversation, you say something like, “I know. Sometimes my (sibling, best friend, parent) and I do that, and I don’t even know why. Blah blah”. Normally that’s how people keep a conversation going. They toss the subject back softly, and then bring up something else. Not Christina. Christina didn’t like Henry’s answer, so she retaliated by giving a non answer to his question. Why would Henry ever open up to that kind of person? She’s just so mad he’s not overwhelmed by her beauty and puts more stock in kindness and good behavior.
  3. Me too! Why? I would rather be called Chris. ChristinE grates on me especially when people know what my name is as presumably the production team knows Christina’s name. So I sympathize with her there. And with YOU too. 🙂
  4. A good thing about coming from a poor family is that you know there’s no one stepping in to save you. But watching people from better off families, I know that parents give down payments for houses , buy cars, trips overseas, etc. Their children seem just fine. They are still responsible adults even though their lives are cushioned. Where I look askance is at the mother actively planting seeds of doubt in Ari’s mind. I suspect their are many strings attached to mom’s “help.”
  5. My guess is that Amelia treats personal things that have the possibility of hEr as a joke to distance her emotions and allow herself to play it off. She wants to be the center of attention, but doesn’t have the confidence to do it without going over the top. As for Bennet, I think we saw at the bachelor party that he is a gentle, thoughtful person. Miles liked him, and that says a lot to me. His mother is - unusual.
  6. This is what I think about Asuelu too. I’ve been of the position of being the “slow” one because I could t speak the language. Also Kalani speaks over Asuela and treats him with contempt. Yes, he was being pouty about not going to Samoa, but I had sympathy for him because no doubt he is homesick and wanting very much to see those who love and accept him. To me thy both have anger issues. Kalani is quick to be angry and instead of asking, “What do you mean?” she snaps back at him in rapid fluent English. He can’t compete on a language level, so he lashes out crudely and inappropriately.
  7. They had me with the polenta with cheese and sour cream.
  8. In fact, many of these “shameful” jobs are more honorable. Really, they shouldn’t have these matchmaking shows because they only reveal how silly and superficial the matching is.
  9. Are Kalani and Asuelu still living In St. George? If so, the closest Amazon fulfillment center would be In Las Vegas, 120 miles to the south.
  10. They actually met while she was living in the US. His friends know her.
  11. Also the interviews with some of the cast afterward reveal how punishing and degrading the producers were in forcing the cast to write stay or leave, and how the cast acted up off camera forcing production to shut down temporarily.
  12. He may have seen a picture of wounds on Brandon. That’s what I thought when he first said it. I see now how it could be pictures of Taylor and “the guy friend” getting cozier than Taylor let on.
  13. A scholarly book that is geared to the layperson, Stamped from the Beginning, supports this. The author says that although he has been a scholar in the field, he was surprised about the origins of some ideas he held. It’s an enlightening book, but is only for those who want to expand their knowledge of racism and not to convince people racism exists.
  14. I think the key to the overreaction here is the timing. The incident occurred in December after the show had taped but before it was aired. Brandon already hated Taylor and production and thought they were fake and possibly that they were out to get him. So he began to taunt Taylor with outing her as a phony and who knows what was said. Taylor claims Brandon said, “I got you now, bitch.” On the other hand, Taylor, who wanted to be on the show and to look good on the show, probably got agitated because she felt he was trying to ruin her appearance on the show. Presumably alcohol interfered with good judgment on both sides, and things escalated possibly with Taylor trying to get the phone. Who knows? What we do know is shortly thereafter as the show began, Brandon filed for annulment/divorce airing all the “dirt” he could and having his friends talk about Taylor on social media. To me, this was clearly to make viewers and reviewers look at Taylor in a poor light and perhaps even influence the edit. I have never thought the incident was about jealousy
  15. Meka already looks better than Taylor. I never in a million years thought I would say this, but I would like to see Jamie and Elizabeth replace Jamie and Doug. Meka thinks really fast and sometimes those thoughts come out too fast. She’ll learn to wait a bit as she grows older. She needs someone who is quick witted and makes her laugh. I give the whole Brandon and Taylor tale the side eye. Protective orders are not issued because people had a argument. If there was yelling and a laying on of hands, I can see how both might have been arrested for disorderly conduct. In most jurisdictions, there must be violence for a protective order to be issued. Also the trial on the protective order took two days! That’s a long time - longer than a lot of criminal trials. So no way did Taylor tell the whole story. Plus whether Taylor knew Brandon might be there is of no importance. It’s what happened afterward that counts, and it seems they were both irrational. It occurred to me that Taylor May have included Brandon’s actions toward her during filming. It’s all so twisted.
  16. AND she admitted her fault without excusing it by childhood trauma or past relationships or whatever. She straight up said she was too harsh and apologized. She took responsibility for herself without pointing out that Michael’s lying was worse than what she did. I think that Meka’s sharp, logical mind makes her impatient with those who can’t keep up. She’s all about the facts, right and wrong, etc. She is my favorite this season, not because she was perfect, but because she seemed she would be a great friend, and I would enjoy her ranting about whatever was on her mind at the moment.
  17. All of the dirty dealings are on You Tube. Also, revealing interviews calling out how people were isolated and tormented by production.
  18. I am so sorry. These are cruel times. We are deprived of the healing rituals of death, and that too is a sadness. My heart goes out to you.
  19. I agree. I also think Lisa knows how much Usman wants a visa. She acts as if she owns him because she feels the power she has over him. Her treatment of him lacks respect. I do think Usman is using her, but I think she is buying a handsome young lover. I think Usman’s mother sees it clearly and is right to worry, but I think she will give into to her son’s desire. Lisa’s contempt for Nigeria is endless, but I doubt she is less complaining in the U.S.
  20. Did you know Stephanie hs a health condition.
  21. Katie has limp oily hair. She needs a shorter cut and a different hair care program. She will probably figure that out in 5 years or so.
  22. Katie is recreating the angry chaos of her childhood in hopes of creating a different outcome. She doesn’t understand this and won’t until she has therapy. How she “needs” to be loved is not healthy. She is basically fearful and her fears make her angry. She thinks her childhood robbed her of being a child, but really it trapped her in a juvenile state. She would be difficult to work with because her fears trap her in a need to be always right. this is my take right now. It may change tomorrow.
