  1. I like Tinsley's outfit for the cabaret.! She looks like a mature woman for once, and beautiful! Keep it up Tins!
  2. Rewatching this episode and just caught Carol talking about how her and Adam still love each other, while at the Cosmo party. Then she threw in a snarky comment about how she doesn't Crash and Burn relationships, like some people she knows. Of course we know she was referring to Bethenny, but Bethenny had this relationship with Dennis (RIP) that was off and on for a while, yet they still talked and expressed warmth toward each other. And apparently from some of the news reports they were secretly engaged. So no Carol, Bethany doesn't Crash and Burn all of her relationships. And writing some silly column about self esteem (so 90's) for a trash mag like Cosmo is nothing to crow about. Any highschooler can do that! So got a kick out of Luann's snark about Ramoana's 'Reveal' of her remodeled house. "So this is the Reveal - Revealing" said only how Lu could in her - "be cool, don't be all uncool" vibe. Hahaha!
  3. Not necessarily. Lawsuits, legal issues are one of the costs of having and doing business. And if the business was set up right (I'm sure Dennis' were), the individuals are not held personally for the damages, If there are any. As far as the type of business he had, it obviously is a needed service or it wouldn't be successful. Why does it make a person an awful human being when they are willing to front people large or small amounts of money when NO ONE ELSE, i.e. a traditional bank, credit union, etc. WON'T LEND THOSE PEOPLE A DOLLAR? Unfortunately, too many people in our society have proved to be very irresponsible with their finances or their life (committing crimes & being locked up) and thus considered a big risk when it comes to lenders giving them money. Now, some of these people will make a commitment to get their affairs in order, but might need some financial help to get on the road to a better future. Alas, nobody but the kind of business that Dennis Shields has will give them that. And yes, they will pay high interest or maybe some kind of fee, but people aren't in business to lose money. The company is taking a risk also in lending this money out. That is what those Payday Loan companies do also. It's not a matter of taking advantage of the most needy, it's giving help to those who really need it, but are locked out of the traditional means of getting loans. Also, those that use a service like Dennis' have free will to accept the terms or not. It's not usury as I believe that is against the law. I can't speak of the case you mentioned as I haven't read about it, wouldn't know where to find it, and I'm sure there is more to it than what was alluded to. As long as they're not chopping people's limbs off or threatening family members, it's wrong to label Dennis' business as unsavory. There may be a few lawsuits, which is how a deemed injustice should be handled, but there is most likely a lot more people who were able to get their lives in order because of the aid this company gave them, hence why they are successful.
  4. I honestly don't understand this sentiment. She posted a pic of her beloved deceased pet and her beloved boyfriend to share with her followers and expressed a sweet sentiment of love. It's normal to want to look at pics of loved ones who just died and share them. They loved her and she loved them so why would she have to extricate herself from expressing her gratitude for the love they brought her?
  5. I don't understand the thinking of some who say that it was damn near negligent of Beth to have had Dennis around her daughter because he might have been "doing drugs", etc. To make it sound like the man was shooting up in front of a child because he may have popped a pain killer that morning is absurd. Opiate addiction, while troublesome and a social problem, is quite different from addiction to illegal "street" drugs. For some who use them, it could be a matter of having chronic pain so bad, that one may be not be able to even get out of bed without them, as was the case with Prince (per Sheila E). Most illegal drugs alter the brain like too much alcohol does, where you have a skewed sense of reality. Pain drugs alleviate pain, not make you "drunk" or unable to function. B`s daughter would not have any idea that he was "on drugs". It doesn't make her an unfit mother to have had her daughter around Dennis. The lengths that some go to slam Bethenny astounds me. I guess parents who have minor children should never take a doctor prescribed pain killer lest the DCPS should come knocking on their door and removing their children from their home. What happened to Dennis is very sad and heart wrenching, as he appeared to be a nice guy that cared for Bethenny, even though they had agreed to be apart and see other people. I wish all those who loved him find the strength to persevere with dignity and peace. And FWIW, I think that it's hitting Bethenny harder than the wife who he's been separated from (and who some have said has another man). She's the past, B was the present. It's a whole different kind of loss for his children. Just so sad.
  6. OMG! OMG! JUST HEARD ON NEWS THAT DENNIS SHIELDS WAS FOUND DEAD! This is so sad! Will definitely mess with Bethenny's emotional well being.
  7. It's funny, I experienced food poisoning once, it lasted one day thru the evening, and I was better the next day. Got seasick once & the effects lasted 3 days. As to what caused the ladies their malodies, they were SPECULATING about what caused it. I don't think it was food poisoning because they apparently (most of them), partied that evening. With food poisoning, you'd be on the bathroom floor hugging the toilet or sitting in the toilet, with bad stomach pains, not dancing the evening away. With diarrhea, you could have moments of calm before an episode, making it possible to still be social, provided there is a toilet close by. And Carole was definitely seasick. (Sorry if something akin to my response was already said as I'm only on page 4 but the forum is already 8 pages. I get the show 3 hrs. later than the early posters - ☹).
  8. The one and only time I got seasick (haven't been on a boat since), it was horrible and I had vertigo with slight nausea for 3 days. Fortunately, I was able to hold my bowels till we got on land, but I was like Carole with the puking on the boat, except I didn't have a big pail, just hung over the side of the boat. But I've always been prone to motion sickness. But if they had bad diarrhea, it could last a few days.
  9. I agree with most of what you said. The thing that bothers me the most is that I don't feel that we got any concrete reason as to why the B & C friendship went caput.. At one point, it seemed that they buried the ghost hatchet, and were good to go. The next episode, they're acting all distant and barely polite to each other. I feel that loyal viewers deserved more insight and truth to why this friendship disintegrated. I just don't buy the view that it's all because B is so needy, controlling, selfish, cruel, talks behind her back with nastiness, etc., etc. Oh well, I guess the truth will reveal itself sooner or later.
  10. I don't see where Bethenny always tries to constantly define the relationship and contact on her terms. And since we weren't privy to the texts, how do you know this? She was just trying to connect with her "friend", who apparently was out of state and thus not around to talk to. No, Carol doesn't have to respond immediately if unable to, but it seems that before too long, she could shoot off a short text indicating that she'll get back to her soon or that she'll call her when she has a moment. And just what is Carol doing that would make it soo hard to respond to a text? Sitting on someone's couch eating M&M's. I would think that if B was trying to be soo controlling, that she would inundate C with phone calls, not texts, as texts are a more discrete form of communication. Maybe it's been said, but I think Carol got bent because Bethenny wasn't there physically cheering her on at the marathon, so BFF, Over!
  11. This is a nice pic. Look at Dorinda hanging all over Lu, her good friend that she read for filth just the night before and again that morning. Lol! I would have liked to see one with all of them, though.
  12. That explanation was lame. Unless you're having a conversation via text (and who does that?), dont texts always come in "spurts"? Isn't that the main idea of texts? I know that when I send somebody a text, I'm hoping for a quick response, unless its just to relay an update, for instance, "on my way, be there in 5", etc. I don't know what amount of effort or time it would've taken Carol to respond to B's texts. I think her non responses were why B kept sending them. She didn't understand why her "friend" was not responding.
  13. What is it with Carol wearing these boudoir style outfits? Maybe they're okay inside the boudoir, but to walk around outside in them - ugh!! Have you noticed also that since she started being close to Tinsley, she dressing in lacey things a lot, like she's emulating Tinsley. How old is she now?? Ugh! Also, if Carol is dropping Beth as a friend over the amount of text messages, she's a flakey friend. I noticed she used the phrase "It's a lot" a lot. But I still want to know what was in those texts that was too much for Carol. READ THE TEXTS CAROL! Dorinda was/is a drunken bully. She really needs to look in the mirror. She makes Luann look saintly for even trying to patch things up with her. The boat ride was just as I presumed it would be - overhyped. The producers need to quit with that crap. Well, it's apparent you all have very acute eyes and ears, as I missed (happily so) all the poop scenes, except the end part where the maid was scrubbing the mattress. I pray I never get diarrhea that bad. I would just die with humiliation. But I am glad that trip is over. Back to the CITY!!
  14. Five pages of comments already and the episode hasn't even aired on the West Coast yet! ??
  15. No, it's not off topic. (Sorry Mods, please hear my reasoning). When we`re talking about Bethenny & Carol`s friendship disintegrating, as it is in this episode, then several posters talk about how B eventually alienates EVERYBODY, then go on to list all the cast members, current ones and former ones, that she alienated, it's not off topic to elaborate on the notion of how B alienates people, since it's happening now with Carol. These things don't/didn't happen in a vacuum and bringing in some past incidents to make a point is necessary. If some are allowed to post thoughts on what they perceive to be B`s poisonous personality as a reason for her friendship breakup, others, like me, wish to counter those notions with some history of others who also had butted heads. Some posters don't know all the history of this crew and get a skewed version of these characters when reading and focusing only about one episode. Context matters.
  16. Yes! to all you wrote. The notion that it's only Bethenny that's "had problems" with EVERYBODY because she's the mean, nasty, vicious one is a lot of subjective opinion based on hatred of Bethenny. As you pointed out, most of her problems and outbursts were reactions to something said or done to her or about her or her allies. And its not like the other HoWives didnt give back as good as they got from B, as if they were all rolled over on by B, hence the notion of B being the big Bully. It's funny how the whole story never gets written. But the breakup between B & C is still a puzzle to me. Other than the notion that Bethenny is too needy for Carol, I don't think we've been privy to the real heart of the matter. Unless Carol really is a cold hearted person who just tired of Bethenny and wants to friend up the new kid on the block, Tinsley. But let's not forget how Ramona also had "problems" and/or blowups with Jill, with Alex, how she told Sonja she didn't want to be seen with her anymore because she's (Sonja) an embarrassing drunk, how she hurt Luann by telling her about the gold bracelet Tom bought another lady & more. Remember when Luann iced out Alex in Monacco (the thug in a coctail dress) and had some not so nice words for her, how she was Jill's protector from Bethenny. Didn't Heather & Dorinda get into it also? And I can't remember who it was that Heather was cussing and calling a "MoFo", but it wasn't Bethenny. I say all this to highlight the fact that it's not only Bethenny that has had "problems" with everybody. At one point or another, they've all had issues with one a other, especially if you've been on the show for a while. Kristen and Jules tenures were too short to even count. If they were on for a few more years, they probably would be good buds with Bethenny by now, the way these women fall in and out of alliances.
  17. Well, once in her thinking head, she did say “ I’d do her, haha”. I was thinking, maybe she would. I don’t remember who she was referring to. These comments jogged my memory of the 1st time (I think it was the 1st time) the ladies stayed at Dorinda's Berkshires house and Bethenny & Carol were having some lighthearted convo in the bedroom wherein it came up something about sex with another woman. Bethenny said she never had sex with a woman and doesn't think she would. But Carol was like, Really? Oh you should try it. From what I recalled, B got a surprised look on her face, and I think she asked Carol if she has. It's kind of fuzzy in my memory, but I think she said she "has gone down" on a woman. So, I wouldn't be surprised if Carol does get with a woman and is bisexual. But I don't see why she would leave the show if she is. ?
  18. That would only be worse for a child if the parents are letting said child hear and see the bitter custody fight, which they shouldn't. I doubt very much if Bethenny is exposing her daughter to any of it. I believe she is fighting for "primary" custody, not FULL custody. That only means that the child's home base would be her mother's house (in B's case). It doesn't mean that the father doesn't get visitation, weekend custody, etc. It actually is less hectic for the child, as they aren't being used like a ping pong ball, being sent back & forth every 2 days or so.
  19. Except that Bethany did apologize to Carol at that lunch meeting that they had a while back where Carol said that Bethenny's text messages were "too much". Remember they hugged it out. Then Carol went on to be the icicle woman that she is. I'm supposing that's why B just kept her distance. The editors didn't really give us a lot in terms of footage to get to the root of this friendship breakup. Bethenny saying Adam was an operator shouldn't have been a deal breaker for true friends. I mean if your good friend can't tell you when she thinks you're being played, who can?
  20. Those texts don't prove that Bethany initiated the conversation. It's it starts off with her verifying date and time. So what came before that? It looks like she was trying to pin down a day & time. However it still doesn't show who initiated the idea to get together. This only prove to me that mr. Brian isn't being entirely honest himself. Also knowing that Bethenny is a time freak, the text a few days later was also to verify that the date or get together, whatever, was still on. That is a smart things to do when getting with somebody that you don't know that well. Therefore these texts don't prove that she was chasing after this guy. This is also shady on his part because he claims he never saw these shows but then goes on to say that Bethenny has a history of exaggerating (or lying) ?. How does he know her history if he was not familiar with the show or the women on it. I think he's trying to save face because B said she was not really interested in him at the speed dating thing. Yeah, those texts are missing a few links.
  21. The thing about the unconditional love comment that Craig made is that, unfortunately, I've known people from age 25 to age 65 utter the same nonsense about love being unconditional. It's one of those cliches that sounds good, but should be obvious to anyone how stupid and naive an idea it is. Alas, it's still pronounced by a lot of people. The only proper context for that belief is in regards to babies and minor children. With that being said, I find Craig to be the most interesting guy of the bunch. Yeah, he's unfocused and a bit of a jerk, but he has shown himself to be of many talents and interest. He enjoys gardening, cooking, sewing and apparently CAN hit the books for more intellectual matters like studying for the bar. We didn't see much of that side of him, but he just recently passed the bar, so it must of happened. He also cares for his cats. At Shep's BBQ, he was apparently the only one who had a clue on how to BBQ and handle food! He's also into real estate and is currently doing some major remodeling of the house he is currently living in. So he is acquiring (or already has) some carpentry and/or construction skills. What have any of the other "men" on this show shown any interest or talent in other than cruising bars, drinking and partying? If Craig can get his head straight and focus, and with a little more maturity under his belt, I think he could be a good partner to someone. Heck, what woman wouldn't want a man who cooks and can fix things? And he's not bad looking either. I find him the most attractive out of the bunch. Shep did look a bit striking on the reunion, but during the program, I find him to be quite milquetoast in looks, hence I didn't even try to watch that spinoff show of his. No charisma. The same with Austin. Whitney is just an odd character that is just there. He has nothing to offer. But I guess him being some producer or something with the show is why he's on it.
  22. I think Craig went a little crazy. He wasn't making much sense. I kinda felt sorry for him.
  23. I remember that scene as one of the other cast members, Austin or Chelsea, prompting Craig to ask Naomie to the ball. And it was awkward for him because he apparently had already asked someone. Then, of course, more awkwardness when he had to give a reason for not asking Naomie. Maybe I'm not remembering it correctly?
