  1. ITA but your wording made me snort Dr Pepper out my nose.
  2. What happened to Hardy's daughter? Beth's daughter implied that she "knew what happened". AND his daughter was very self-conscious / covering herself up.
  3. Apologies for pointing this out if someone's already said it (and I haven't read all the posts yet) The seeming endless scenes of Samwell almost retching in his extremely awful duties implied a lot of time passed while he tried to find answers for Jon. That passage of time isn't reflected in what's happening in the North. BUT it does account for the activities in the South and on the water. How would Cersei find out so quickly about the death of the Freys and Dany's near arrival at Dragonstone. How could a ship with that kind of news get to King's Landing ahead of Dany's? And how did Dany's fleet arrive so quickly?
  4. And now I'm gonna hafta watch all the Rory episodes again just to verify whether he ever does that.
  5. I have had the same questions about the party -- was it some kind of sex party with such a skewed male/female ratio? But just now I realized that it was Cath's 50th birthday party. And her husband said that she was going around inviting people outside of the planned guest list. The odds are good that she's the type of person to only invite men. I got the feeling that's she's a party girl, and possibly fooling around outside the marriage bed (not unlike the feeling I have that her husband has had/is having an affair with Trish).
  6. Aired today in the USA. (finally) I totally love Alec Hardy!! "If you've totally got the authority to make decisions, totally make the decision to cooperate with our request. Or we'll totally come back with a warrant. And I might phone your Dad."
  7. But it's dragon-stone. So couldn't they knock chips off it (to pretty-fy it) and use the chips for killing WWs? Or it it just the stone where the dragons first landed in Westeros?
  8. I thought that she might have been able to use the controls after Twelve held her hands at the end of the previous episode (The Eaters of Light). His fingerprints/DNA on her hands might have given her the ability. And she seemed to come to a realization after he walked away, which I interpreted as "oh hey, he touched me! What can I do with this?"
  9. Look again at the faceplates for the Cybermen, such as in Rise of the Cybermen. They have a tear (as in crying, not a rip) at each eye.
  10. Thanks for the clarification! Although I heard these bands on the radio in the 80s, I never bought their music. So I definitely can't distinguish among the band members.
  11. His voice didn't match the song. It's a bright song, and Belinda sings it at the front of her mouth to give it that bright sound. (think Julie Andrews) Tom speaks and sings from the back of his throat. So, while his tone and phrasing were good, his voice is not right for the song. Also, many of the notes are for a soprano (tenor) while he's more baritone (second soprano). I'm not an expert on vocals: YMMV.
  12. He did a good job on "Eternal Flame." And nicely done on the musical choices in this episode. Not just The Bangles song, which clearly foreshadows Azrael's blade. But also the song at the end "Looking for Knives." They must have a blast matching music to the moments in the episodes.
  13. I haven't watched this Season past the first couple of episodes. The last few seasons have been sub-par, which turned me off completely. Basically, I hung in there season after season in hope. But nothing has lived up to the line, "I gripped you tight and raised you from perdition." Today, I decided to read some of the comments about this episode to decide whether I should watch or delete the recordings for this season. I'm still on the shelf. Is it really worth continuing to invest my hopes in this show?
  14. Yep, you're right. I forgot about that. See? It's been too. damned. long. since the last season.
  15. What if the Valonqar is Rickon or Bran? They're both little brothers also. What if Rickon is the last standing Stark?
  16. I know that it seemed right for Damon to sacrifice himself -- he's been more of an ass and violent vampire than Stefan. Except, it's Stefan's fault that Damon became that vampire. And it's Katherine who caused it all to happen. So full circle means that Katherine's-doppleganger-Elena brought the brothers back together, which eventually allowed Stefan to correct the wrong that he initially did to his brother.
  17. I thought that Dorothy felt abandoned and betrayed. Both Sylvie and Lucas turned on her at Glinda's. They were the only reasons that would have compelled her to stay in Oz, after all. Then she wasn't able to kill Glinda -- if that was ever her plan. So now she has no friends and nothing to bring to the Wizard to get herself home. When Lucas says he wants to kill her but can't kill her, she's confused and hurt, which turns to fear/anger/hate/suffering/y'know the dark side. He wants her out of his head/heart. She wants to go home but wants him and Sylvie. Like a woman scorned, she does the spiteful thing. She leaves him like she found him...strung up as a scarecrow. She'll repent. (I hope)
  18. Sooooooo, this "Beast Forever". Doesn't it arrive at the same time as Frank, Jane, et al? And aren't the actions of Frank/The Wizard going to lead to everyone's deaths? Could Frank actually be the Beast (without realizing that he is)?
  19. </wail!> When will this be aired in the U.S.?
  20. Lucifer entered a church in S1E9: A Priest Walks into a Bar -- didn't he? And nothing untoward happened, other than Lucifer starting to think about God's plan for him.
  21. I loved this episode - even though I also expected an 8th episode for the season! I need to rewatch simply for the language. For example, the last dialogue between Susan and Edmund -- the amazing ways these individuals expressed themselves -- is so different from modern TV shows, and yet it's neither overbearing nor stilted. BTW, we can change that "unaired USA" label: It aired on BBCAmerica last week.
  22. This song drove me crazy during my first and second viewing. Thanks for providing this explanation. However, Bunsen Burner clearly is sampling a much older song that's teasing my memory, because I've never seen Ex Machina. It reminds me of a song that has lyrics, possibly from the 70s. It makes me think of Pink Floyd. ETA: Doh! I'm hearing Welcome to the Machine when listening to Bunsen Burner.
  23. Person of Interest opened with John saying, "When you find that one person who connects you to the world, you become someone different. Someone...better. And [if] that person is taken from you…what do you become then?" I like how the final episode shows exactly what he became: someone who cared deeply enough to make a deal with a machine to ensure Finch's safety.
  24. Regarding the death of Summer and the other direwolves, gaahhhhhhh! - okay, I'm better now. Um, wait. no I'm not...but moving on... he had to die because Bran betrayed those closest to him by touching the tree when he knew he shouldn't have which brought the WWs to the cave. The other direwolves died similarly: Lady died because Sansa betrayed Arya by not standing up for her against Joffrey; Grey Wind died because Robb failed to keep his word in marrying a Frey. If this is the common pattern, the question remains whether Shaggydog is really dead. Also? Noooooooooo, not Summer. Not Hodor. Noooooooooooo! gaahhhhhhh! - okay, I'm better now. Um, wait. no I'm not...
  25. I really can't figure out Littlefinger's end game. He had to know that he was leaving Sansa with monsters when he convinced her to marry Ramsay. So, is he mobilizing the Vale against the Boltons on behalf of the Lannisters? Or is he hoping to cause enough chaos that he'll be "last man standing" and grab all the power for himself? I can see that he would attempt to take Sansa as a wife (he would be a better alternative than, say, Ramsay). But I don't see his being satisfied as Lord of Winterfell or the North. It's too uncivilized for him.
