  1. I’m scared that just putting the truffles in the polenta may not be enough. You’re not highlighting the truffle. Stop making me so nervous Gregory!
  2. Loved seeing Stephanie’s reactions to Italy! She’s giddy.
  3. I’m guessing the food is not flavor forward.
  4. I have a family of bunnies in my yard so I’m always rooting for them. But zI’ve seen nothing new or interesting yet. Boo.
  5. It will be very interesting to see if they continue with the first round being done by video submissions after this year. i’m sure many did not try out in previous years because not everyone has the time, money or desire to travel to Texas and some may not want to be on the “what was she thinking” list on tv. Kelli can now say that they have around 1,500 trying out and if they can still get great or better quality dancers, maybe.
  6. You know, they could just post all of the audition videos, applications and whatnot here and WE could whittle it down. We could totally do the first round of auditions. We have our dancers who could judge dance ability, we are the fans and I think we are a great representation of different demographics. We have male fans who could give the male perspective. What else do we need? I think we’ve got the complicated yes/no/maybe system down.
  7. I love Brianna too. i also love Brennan,
  8. I don’t think any vets will be cut this year either due to the pandemic. The only way I see that happening is if they really like someone’s look, dance, power and they can get feedback that a new girl can learn choreography really quick. Otherwise, I see them being safe. But even if they do cut vets, I think Kat will be safe. I don’t follow DCC social media but just from what is shown here, it seems like Kat is very real, kinda goofy, relatable and I think her personality may keep her in. Not to mention Kelli loves her look and I’m guessing her dancing has improved from last year. She’s certainly a lot more engaging than Maddie and I can see her being a favorite on appearances.
  9. Exactly. She is definitely not the “star” to me either and I say this as a Maddie fan. I like her. But she is not media ready, that’s for sure. I can’t remember if I’m thinking of Jen or Erica, but a lot of people felt she came off as a know it all or something. Anyway, I just remember her coming off as extremely well spoken. Someone they knew they could trust to give a well thought out response, was articulate, and toed the company line (at least then). You definitely cannot trust Maddie with a speaking engagement. And I almost forgot, but yeah, the judges damn near dying over the hip hop was comical.
  10. I’ve only seen that one interview, but yeah, you summed it up perfectly. It was shocking that Kelli would have her on that interview. I am sure she could have found someone better. It was painful I get what TPTB saw at first. Someone who took notes from the first training camp and came back like a totally different person. Someone who was more confident in their dance and with a different look. It was a perfect example of how to be that comeback girl. That perfect example now belongs to Erin. But I get it as far as that is concerned. She showed much more personality when she was trying to make the team. Image wise, she’s your innocent looking girl next door that they like, I guess. Dance wise, I’m not a trained dancer but I know that hip hop version is soft. But in DCC world, as long as you impress Kelli and Charlotte, then you’re good.
  11. I think I know the interview you’re talking about. Maddie was so ... one word, non-speaking, anxious. I remember thinking about the media training episodes and wondering how she got through them. I like Maddie, but she should never go on tv unless and until she gets better.
  12. At my Grandmother’s, things got fancy when the preacher came over and we got to cut on the air conditioning!
  13. Or just make a great soup. You can start/do it the night before, let it develop flavors overnight and simply heat the next day. Then, someone only has to garnish or plate your dish. Never understood why they seem to make it so hard.
  14. First, let me just say that I loved the way they all got to pitch a restaurant and the top two got to open their restaurants. I hope they keep that. Now I love Kevin and adore Gregory so I knew it would be hard on me this week. But Kevin, my Love, the idea of plantation cooking does nothing for me. Like, at all. Now Grandma’s house, yes. Plantation, no. A big no. He and Eric almost have the same concept, just from different views. Can you imagine if they both won and got to do their restaurants? Why are we eating the same foods in both restaurants? Anyway, ... Besides having way too many dishes, it seemed like his concept was a little confusing at first. My grandmother never, not once, brought a plate of cutesy, “cheffy” canapés to the table. It almost makes me think the judges went to the restaurants in the opposite order when Tom spoke about the fact that Gregory didn’t try to chef it up in his restaurant. And I could barely keep up with all of the dishes. But I love that Kevin took all of the blame at judges table and went out in the best way possible. I’m sure he’ll rock it in LCK. Gregory choosing Malarkey was inspired. And he rocked it. He set up the restaurant, was very good with the wait staff and when Gregory was stressed over the fish, he knew to not push and just gently guided him. I loved his running commentary about keeping calm and not letting the diners become aware of any chaos in the kitchen. It really showed his strengths and he rose up in my eyes, even though I never had anything against him. And even though I already like Stephanie, she rose a couple of levels in my eyes. As LeeAnn said, she was a sea of calm during the storm. I loved how she was all like “Oh no, we will NOT talk to the wait staff like that” and helped calm the situation. You could see LeeAnn was surprised, I think, that she was assertive and kind of pissed. But, to her credit, LeeAnn didn’t let it throw her off and she put her head down and just made an awesome salad and dessert. Gregory, I would go to your restaurant in a heartbeat. I understood Gregory when he didn’t want to make the same thing twice. Thankfully, his dishes made the judges not miss the oxtails at all. When they first started eating and the table was quiet, I was thinking the food must be good because no one is talking, they’re just eating. And when Tom said that Gregory’s felt like an actual restaurant, that sealed the deal. All in all, I enjoyed this RW.
  15. Someone asked that in the live thread. The answer was he would be front of house.
  16. Thanks for the chuckle. No judgement from this end. Quarantine does things to people. No judgement here either. It’s always evening somewhere.
  17. Well if this is any indication of how the new season is going to go, then I’m out. I’ll just come here and catch the comments.
  18. Plus I believe he said that $60 per table was the high end of the menu. Very reasonable for two people, especially if you have a drink.
  19. I know. I adore Sheldon. This season is great but hard at the same time. I love Kevin, Gregory, Melissa and Eric and would be thrilled for either of them to win. Like Brian, LeeAnn and Stephanie and Malarkey is just whatever for me. So for the most part, I’m going to be cringing at every elimination.
  20. In the 70’s, they had WOC with afros so it can be done today. But I agree with the poster who said it is probably just easier to have a wig or weave. But since I don’t wear either, I don’t really know. i just want to see a WOC knock it out of the park with locs.
