I like Cris. But the TOC really could have been set up as a “best of 70”, as far as I’m concerned. I enjoyed the three of them and their varying styles of play.

That’s awful. I’m so sorry to hear.

There is an episode on OWN tonight, S16, ep08, This Space is Looking Up. The woman lover/lister reminds me of a woman on Say Yes To The Dress. It was years ago. A threesome arrived at one of the boutiques to try on dresses for the husbands soon to be 2nd wife, who was in tow. The woman on LIOLI looks (to my memory) to be wife #1 on SYTTD. I’ve seen this ep of LIOLI 10 times or more, and always think of the other show, but I don’t recall how concertedly I sought the identities of the two women (IMDb, etc) but I wanted to put this out here in case anyone cares to tune in to see if they remember, while it’s on air

I know! Never, not once in my life have I heard that. Could Jeopardy clue writers be using Wikipedia for fact finding? Its often Anglo-centric in spelling, phrasing and reference points.

Same. I spent the entire round of thinking music trying to come up with the name of a South American estate.

Me too! I tried to recall what the to-do was about it during Amy’s first go-round, but couldn’t quite. It seems there was something about copyright issues. I wonder if her newfound success and celebrity garnered a go ahead from the owners. I’m sure she has addressed Ozma being freed for us to see, but I’m unaware. Anybody…?

As Johnny introduced the giants, I was ready with a flappy-handed wave for Mattea. Then, upon their first buzz-in, they started with the flappy hands. I pointed out to Partner South that it didn’t even bother me. Then, with the comments. Still fine. Ten minutes later, I was barking at the screen. They are lightning fast, but let’s face it, the depth and breadth of knowledge in that young noggin is impressive. I don’t mention the “young” issue as any sort of disrespect towards Mattea. Their scope would be wildly impressive on anyone of any age. The fact that they are, what, 23, 24? Incredible. Still, I bark at the screen.

I kept thinking of Whose Line is it…”and the points don’t count”.

I enjoyed the episode. Jack Harlow certainly showed up. I thought he was charming and game, and he sold me on the Pixar movie. I thought The Joker was hilarious—maybe because I know folks of that sort. I’ve no issue with the MG and host being one and the same, and we enjoyed Harlow on both stages. Whoopi and Joy feeding off one another was so close to the real thing! Also, I’ve never thought of Sunni Hostin being especially imitable, but dang, that was IT. And I agree with all that having Cecily back was most welcome…or rather SPOOKTACULAR!

I thought the clue read $35000!

I also gave a nod to the zillions of crossword puzzles I’ve done when Erne/Ern popped up.

A whole lot. Everything cannot be amazing/amusing/incredible/. When everything is, nothing is. The connection made with me was the same as it would have been if every reply was given in a Steven Wright tone, or Garfield for that matter. Cheerful is great, but that isn’t what that was. That type of presentation is fatiguing. On the other hand, they played a strong tourn…well, you know. Partner South said they are as irksome as Mattea. I’m not sure I can compare the two. Both are so uniquely bothersome.

Oh, Lordy! He was EVERYTHING in HLOTS. He could shake the snot out of a phrase, and with a twist of his shoulder, I’d realize that I needed to rethink whatever was said previously. When he explained to Tim about being sent to a Jesuit school “where they taught me to think”… all these years later, I still get goosebumps.

She WAS the MVP, wasn’t she? Two solid weeks in a row! I appreciate her insight and understanding of life…then she calls somebody Larry!

It seems they are featuring her more this season. She was a bit peripheral previously, so maybe they are attempting to solidify her persona.

I’d like for Flower’s brother to come visit. Then, maybe he’d need to climb a fence, perhaps to pluck a perfect apple from the snooty neighbor’s yard. Being of a certain age, he could suffer a fatal fall. Then he and Flower could visit and catch up across the fence. That way we wont have so many ghosts for the indoor scenes that it becomes chaotic. I’ve also thought of Todd being hit by a vehicle while checking the B&Bs mailbox at the curb or something. He could pine away into eternity, being so close and yet so far from Alberta. We’d be able to see him pacing at the curb, hoping for a glimpse off her in the background of any scenes filmed in the front court.

I’ve been traveling, and haven’t been here since page 11, so if I didn’t say it before, Cris is going to be another favorite of mine. I tend to enjoy folks that are just so much of what they are.

The first I ever heard of the phrase was from a friend of mine who was raised in Puerto Rico. He used a slight twist, “after three days, the body stinks”. That’s what is used in our house and it’s the one our kids carried into the world.

I always think “tibula”, always.

I watched this episode a second time, due to being distracted the first go-round. Marcia Gay Harden is clearly several cuts-above. No shade on the others, not at all. She is compelling, regardless of the scene or line being delivered.

I don’t know that I’ve ever done that! As to the original glazed, (only ever purchased HOT) the lion’s share are typically eaten in the car. The remainder, in short order upon getting home. If there are any frosted coconut or frosted sprinkled in the box, the are fine the next morning.

We pre-guess as well. We also decide how much of whose money we are wagering. I too, got hung up on the first three-letter notion, paused it, and made it as far west as Turkey and got nothing.

Really though, in such a situation, what else might one possibly do? God, they are so danged awesome…(I’m just silently staring off into the darkness, envisioning the “Hot Now” sign.)

I’m still so happily surprised that I feel the same. I was growlingly not looking forward to his taking-over of the helm. Then, ahhh…he’s really good. He is actually tuned in for the interviews, and his side quips are the best. I expected him to be fast on his feet, but I also expected a more sarcastic repartee. He has a bit of dryness to his humor that can be mistaken for sarcasm, but coming from a long line of stone-faced humorists, the difference is clear to me. I’m so pleased that he’s aboard.
