  1. So did I. I said “stays, no, staves, stays, stays? Staves yep staves…?” Still didn’t catch the correct answer.
  2. I may have had the same deck of cards. Mine was based on Old Maid.
  3. Somebody commented that Katie reminded them of someone, but couldn’t come up with a name. I’m thinking of Shailene Woodley.
  4. I thought of Darryl Hall when I saw his mane.
  5. And his blog! Let’s not forget the blog!!
  6. I think they were setting the stage to have both mom and son e turn to the show.
  7. I understood it during lockdown, but, now?
  8. My apologies, friend. My comment was intended for Mojito. I’ve been away for the better part of three weeks and my eyes are just now becoming accustomed to the new format.
  9. As the Final Jeopardy clue was read, I could see Partner South from the corner of my eye. He was hoping I wasn’t paying attention, but I was, and whispered “Sheherazade”. In this house, that word/name means that it’s time to watch Charlie White and Meryl Davis’ 2014 Olympic ice dancing performance to Sheherazade, by Rimsky-Korsakov. Gold medal perfection! If you’re so inclined, take a couple minutes and enjoy it for yourselves.
  10. My German side of the family use a variation of Xs and Os. I’d have given it to you.
  11. I think he should be doing anything he pleases.
  12. Yeah, the lizard-poach bothered me. I did a quick search on the particular lizard and it is formidable looking. It doesn’t appear to be your entry-level pet.
  13. A simile employs either “like” or “as”, as in “like a candle in the wind”.
  14. I didn’t go back to be certain, opting to go off half-cocked, but wasn’t the candle in the wind clue a simile not a metaphor? I should have checked the exact phrasing, but decided instead to be irked.
  15. I also likened him to a metronome! That said, I like him just fine. SUCH a great voice!
  16. Isaac would have said “well done!”, had he heard my multiple gaspasms through the episode.
  17. Stephen King and Dave Grohl had a baby.
  18. Hmmm, was Bulgaria mentioned in two clues tonight (Tuesday)? I wonder if the writers were googling “10 Facts About Bulgaria That You May Not Know”, or some such.
  19. I opted for the Brandenburg Gate. Though I’d have to look at the wording of the clue again to see if it would have been accepted.
  20. Ha! I got the SF portion, but couldn’t decide on Vienna or Salzburg. So I was back and forth, Vienna, Salzburg, Vienna, Salzburg. Then in the very last moment I realized that it’s Partner South who is from Salzburg, and blurted out “Vienna!”
  21. I missed that ep. Was a Statesboro student house hunting in Savannah? That could be tempting, but Lordy, that drive would get old, with or without deer. Too bad her classes weren’t offered at Georgia Southern’s Savannah campus. I didn’t catch the full episode, but I always roll my eyes when house hunters refer to anything with a pillar on the front porch as a Craftsman.
  22. I feel ya! I actually said “Judas Priest” when Ken prompted to be more specific on a question. I’ve never been so happy to not be there on stage.
  23. Partner South was taking a call, so the tv was muted. I looked up in time to see the photo of RFK. I said, (inside my head, because I’m considerate that way) “that’s either Bobby Kennedy or Jack Nicholson”. I’ve never before seen a resemblance that I can recall.
  24. Let’s not forget first floor dwellings with elevators, pads in the heart of Amsterdam with acreage for Princess, the Hamster. Also, the desire for American-sized, styled and designed everything, but with old world charm, and hopes to tumble out of bed and land in a quaint pub/cafe/gallery, but without the pesky tourist crowd. And of course, the ones who must live far into the countryside so they will have peace and quiet to write the next Great American Novel, but also must be within walking distance of the kid’s school and spouse’s work. They can’t say we aren’t paying attention.
  25. I didn’t tear up, but I was overjoyed, and shook the daylights out of Partner South’s arm while cheering. I feel the same about her continuing doing good and doing well. Ditto that we could use a LOT more Amys in our midst. Andrew gets a nice wad of walking around money that will give him some breathing space at a point in his life where not many young people can say the same. And Sam gets to take his 50 grand home to stunning Pacific Grove. Not too shabby.
