I was so proud of Chidi standing up to Michael and demanding an apology. That shows real growth on his part, that he's not willing be made a fool or be mistreated, that he's confident in his abilities and commands respect.

Has anyone else noticed that, Trolley dilemma aside, Chidi has become much more decisive than before?  He instantly rejected Michael's first (faux) apology, didn't accept the Emmanuel Kant manuscript and told Mikey to get the fork out of his home - all without any deliberation.  Old-school Chidi would have never been so decisive.  Count me among the people that believe Janet is the key to this season.

Maybe I’m being too optimistic, but I think, despite all of his talk about humans being cockroaches, that Michael actually likes Eleanor.

He did tell someone (either Chidi or Vicki I believe) that he does enjoy Eleanor's company.  He doesn't seem to harbor any affection for anyone else in the Good/Bad Place.

there are as many people alive right now as all the dead people who have ever lived.

Believe it or not, I remember Thanos pointing that factoid out in an old Adam Warlock comic book.

    Bronx Science Whoot Whoot!

Class of 1984, Jon Favreau was my class (as yet unseen at any reunions I've attended).

Brooklyn Tech Man here, Class of 1980!  Seems like we always played second (or Third) Fiddle to you guys and the Stuyvesant crew back in the day.

But on the plus side, Lou Ferrigno is one of our alumni!

Jon Favreau doesn't seem like a reunion kind of guy, IMO

I just saw a repeat of the episode with the veterinarian that gave Raj her phone number.  Nothing ever came of that.  Why?  It's so maddening.

In the little we saw of Yvette the Vet, it seems she was the girl best suited for Raj.  So OOC for him not to follow-up after getting her phone number.  I'm holding out hope that somewhere between now and next season she re-surfaces, Raj finally grows up, and he gets his HEA just like everyone else (except Stuart, Lorre's obligatory lifelong loser character).

I truly think the actor playing Howard is underrated as a comedienne.  I have grown to appreciate him and think he is the funniest and most talented actor on the show.

This to the zillionth power.  Despite all the Jim Parsons love, I've felt for a long time that Simon is truly this show's MVP.  If you ever watch Johnny Galecki closely, every once in a while he struggles not to break character during some of Simon's funniest moments.

While I definitely appreciate seeing Andre in well fitting jeans and a not too snug but flattering t-shirt, I don't get why a psychiatrist is doing recon work for Anna on a gang of jewel thieves who may or may not be connected to Quasimodo.

Remember, Andre is also a Profiler for the WSB.

The difference between old-school, classic GH and this crap is that in the old days Andre and Anna would have headed off to Europe for an exciting adventure, perhaps to be later joined by Robert, Frisco and maybe even Luke.  That ain't happening here, folks.

On this show, I think it'll be done without making it a joke about his size.  Although, I don't see the joke,I don't see what the deal is with his size anyway, nor the size of someone like Wendell Pierce who was the actor in Waiting to Exhale. The first thing I noticed most about the guy was the ease in which he interacts with Molly and she with him which is why many of us have come to the conclusion that he could probably be the one for her.

Thanks for this.  As a Brother that's basically a cross between Wendell and Cedric...let me just say this: the majority of the ladies I've been with had no complaints about my ability to get the job done.

Lawrence especially was saying it to be hurtful.

ITA.  However, I've found in confrontations like those, your most powerful weapon is the truth - especially one your adversary has admitted themselves.  Just to be clear, I'm not taking sides here; both of them are guilty of being immature, self-indulgent assholes to one degree or another, and the adult thing for them to do would be to claim that.  But neither one is at that place yet.

To each their own. I for one don't like shaming people for liking to have sex. There should be safe ways of going about it though.

Yeah, didn't want to sound like I was sex shaming her, but instead, making your second point in a way that could have been better stated.  I understanding being young and horny, but if Issa was a guy some folks (not necessarily me) would be accusing her of thinking with her lower head, lol.

Lawrence took it too far in calling Issa a ho

Did he really though?  By no means am I being a judgmental prude, but Issa has been working hard to give up the cookie - to any guy who appears marginally interested - for awhile now.  Interestingly enough, Lawrence doesn't know everything we do, or he would have really unloaded on her.

I can't speak for black women, but as a white woman, I have ALWAYS been expected to give blow jobs to guys I've dated (or "dated"), ESPECIALLY to white guys. White guys will beg for blow jobs. White guys are ALL ABOUT some blow jobs. And sports. White guys will turn down sex for sports.

And this is another reason why I can't be bothered with any of it anymore.

As a straight Black male, this has got to be the most informative thread on the whole site.   Surprising opinion follows....

Maybe its because I haven't had that many, but to me BJs are something that always look like they feel better than they actually do....I've never quite understood the appeal.

On the other hand (no pun intended), I'll take a good hand job any old day of the week.

ETA: For what it's worth BILGISTIC, I'll hit pause on the Yankee game for a good roll in the hay anytime you'd like, lol.

Who knew there were enough lesbians in town to justify the Floating Rib having a lesbian night?

Totally shallow male comment: the young lady tending bar while Kristina and Valerie were talking was quite...boobalicious.  The Floating Rib must know their clientele, lol.

  13. Glad to know it isn't just me.  I feel so guilty having to use the CC button.  But as someone two decades removed from the Insecure characters, it's pretty cool that I can still relate to them.

Lawrence, now that he has his professional life together, is for marrying.

Larry may have his professional life together, but thanks to Issa, his personal life is totally FUBAR'D.

Btw...I'm a newcomer to Insecure this season.  Kind of embarrassed to admit this as a Black man...but...I have to watch this show with the CC button on.  Between many of the characters' poor enunciation (especially Molly) and some weird sound values, I'd miss half the dialogue otherwise.  Anyone else experience this?

So, I really can't remember a time where Sonny ever really lost.

How about when Luke went to Casa Corinthos and made Sonny cancel the hit he ordered on him?  I loved that episode just based on the dismissive way Luke handled Jason.  It was kind of like "go away little boy, the grown-ups have stuff to talk about."

Anna was out of line to call Lulu judgmental and bring up Luke, and give her the side-eye and insinuate she wasn't thinking of Charlotte.

Yeah, what the Hell was that?  Anna throwing shade at Luke was kind of strange, seeing as how they used to sleep together not so long ago.  And Anna cries more than any elite super-spy I've ever seen.

If you constantly praise yourself for having such a strong feminist vision and are in the unique position of showing women in power deciding the fate of the world and that's the best you can do?

Have to admit I'm a big Calista Flockhart/Cat Grant fan, but most of her dialogue, especially when calling out Rhea, was so much rambling nonsense.  Also, boo to the writers for constantly sidelining Martian Manhunter.  Will we ever see J'onn score a major victory on this show?  I loved how the character was portrayed on Smallville, as kind of a mentor/guardian to Clark that could still hold his own with the baddies.  This version of MM has a much staying power as a piece of wet newspaper.  Lots of wasted potential there.
