Considering what they charge for room and board and tuition, they could be a nice space. I know that many universities spent heavily to put up amenities to attract students. So they had nice student centers and some schools had things like a climbing wall.

Samantha is on Rick Steves podcast again. I don't know if they just replayed the segment from earlier this year or it's a new interview. She talks about Quebec City, which she did for the abbreviated season 4. She talks about how safe they were, how they filmed everything outside, took longer than usual to film. They talk about where they will and won't travel during the pandemic a bit. So she may not have traveled this past summer when travel restrictions were loosened and Americans were allowed to visit Europe. She says she majored in musical theater at Syracuse and came down to NY but then got the job as hostess on the Travel Channel. She doesn't say which show, but probably Passport to Europe. She says she loves social media posts on travel. Don't think she means the young attractive women who post photos of themselves in scenic locales but rather diverse perspectives from POC. If you Google for Places to Love episodes, it shows a couple of season 5 episodes, due to air in January. Asheville, NC on January 4 and South Jersey on January 11. So it sounds like she may just hit places near her home, rather than flying overseas. She didn't want to travel overseas and deal with the restrictions? Maybe she didn't want to get vaccinated?

So all the girls have divulged their secrets to at least some of the others. Leighton isn't completely out but that's probably going to be a season 2 arc. Bela will be successful with her female college group and maybe she'll tone down her over sexualized speech. At least refrain from terms like "ass meat." Kimberly will find some way to come up with tuition money. Whitney will become a star college athlete. Pretty well done, seems like they started with Never Have I Ever as a template and then used an older cast, more age-appropriate plots. Mindy is a growing mogul.

S02.E05: Old Tina Can't Come to the Phone

I think a lot of these Challenge vets they're inviting back are people that MTV deemed weren't as popular as other cast members. Some of them may have walked away for the C/hallenge and then after like 10 years decided to come back. Obviously the money is a lot more than what they used to try to win when they left around 10-15 years ago. Plus with 10 episodes, it's not as much of a demand on their time. But someone like MJ, could probably compete in any of the regular Challenges or he could have kept competing, at least until he started a family. He might be someone that MTV didn't think appealed to the viewers as much, especially when they started drawing younger cast members from other MTV shows and reality shows on other networks. Unlikely most of these cast members came back for nostalgia alone. -

Well they aired the Floor in Amsterdam episode just a couple of days ago so I don't know if that's indicative of these two Amsterdam episodes being filmed around the same time. Usually Sarah has done all the Amsterdam episodes so maybe they let Floor cover because Sarah is as big as a house! Might have been tough for her to get up those steep Amsterdam stairs, where you have to sometimes bend forward and twist as you climb or descend them. Or maybe Sarah got out of the house after Floor encroached into her territory. What's going to happen to her chipper persona when she's tired taking care of her baby? All the properties didn't seem to have stairs. The one that the "content creator" chose is on the ground floor and if she opens the windows, people can walk in from the street! Sounds like she's on a digital nomad visa, so she could probably create content in Europe, mainly Instagram pics. OK, she must do product placement to get income or just tout certain products on her IG feed. She had a modest budget for Amsterdam so the properties weren't that inspiring. She chose the best location, to get those IG pics of the canals and then she's near the main train station, which links to the airport. -
S02.E05: Old Tina Can't Come to the Phone

I thought maybe the women’s setup could have been made easier, like not have to jump as high on the last one. But Jasmine finished so it was do-able, though challenging. Guess Tina’s life with that pool really was that good. Or she realized they were going to keep voting her in. She says she doesn’t play personal but was she saying that when she voted Jodi in? Steve in the Arena should have lowered his shoulder if Teck headed towards him. But maybe the collisions wore him down. Or the extra weight did. In any event, he expressed a preference and Laterrian and Nehemiah got really upset? I don’t think it would have mattered, the rest were voting for Teck, who’s still the same loudmouth from his RW season. -
Yeah I noted that as well, no breakdown of prizes. It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't know at the time of filming. Maybe they look at who's left and then decide. The women clearly struggled up that mountain before that wire puzzle so if the last leg(s) are also going uphill, then it wouldn't be fair to make it winner take all. I think there's been one season where men and women competed for one overall winner? That was the year Cara Maria won it all as they ran back and forth between a puzzle and a key and it looked like long distances but it was mostly flat ground or not some steep mountain. So I'm guessing it will at least be split two ways (unless they allow one to take the other' winnings again) and they will eliminate even numbers of men and women. Probably one of each so you end up with 3 male/female pairs and the prize winner will be from the 3 couples.
-
OTOH, the previews showed them doing more climbing. So fitness may matter more relative to puzzle solving on the latter part of the Final. Doesn't the second leg of Finals usually involve just running to the finish? Though people who get to the last checkpoint before the last race up some mountain usually get some time advantage.
-
Wonder if the producers appreciate her telling on them, especially if it's true that they switched up the eliminations. And if she has an OnlyFans following, maybe she's making a good enough income outside the show. But keep doing the show, make yourself noticed with outlandish statements or actions, get more followers, FTW.
-
Maybe not fashion-wise but if she wanted to be noticed, draw some male gaze, it worked.
-
But it's not really limited to this show. Monica and Rachel's apartment is in a neighborhood of properties which go well into 8 figures. TV shows in general build studios which are expansive, to have room for lighting, cameras and other gear, to be able to film with multiple people. So depictions of apartments in big, expensive cities are bigger than they would be. Maybe Girls showed them living in relative squalor.
-
I don't think it's intentional at all. She looks fine. A fashion person might not like it because she's not tall and thin like a model. She's young but she hasn't prioritized being fit or being all about fashion.
-
The choice of the elimination games really gave a big edge to one of the competitors. It can't be that they determined ahead of time that the women would do the more physical challenge and the men would do the puzzles, can it? And both were easy to set up, so it's not like they couldn't have flipped them or even have some other type of game.

House Hunters International - General Discussion

Lowest priced too. Supposedly they needed all this room for her studio and the two daughters are growing fast, they're not going to want to share a bedroom in a couple of years. Views are great at all the locations but nothing about being near amenities, schools for the girls. Just distance to the beach. The first property, which had these vast expanses of perfectly manicured lawns, was stunning. However, in one of the shots, there is something moving on the lawn between the house and the beach. Looked like some sea creature gliding on the surface of the lawn. Then she had this thing about wood, which is among the reason she rejected the second house. She objected to the hardwood floors! That must be a first on HH or HHI. He might have retired from the UK military as an officer but he could afford to move the family to Australia and buy a million-dollar home? No mention of what work he was going to do. She said she saved money as a photographer. Not too many photographers are making the kind of money to buy a million-dollar home. Looks like they were in no hurry to set up a studio for her and what kind of photo commissions would she get in a relatively remote locale? Besides she's going to be hanging out at the beach a lot of the time. -
They call it a different name and air it on Thursdays? Is it an HBO original or a Max Original?

S01.E05: Nuthin' but an OG Thang

I think most of the Daily Challenges in Spies, Lies and Allies have been good. So have a lot of the Lair games. No Hall Challenge and I don't believe Pole Wrestling either so they didn't give muscle heads that edge. From the scenes of this season, looks like All Star will have some elaborate Daily Challenges. The trivia contest is simple but rigging up that plunge from the skyscraper is probably not a cheap thing to set up. -
Yeah on both puzzles, there were intact puzzles left for the stragglers to copy and they couldn't do it fast enough. Immanuel would never have figured out the numbers puzzle if Tori didn't give him hints. Obviously they've studied puzzles and the number one was familiar to a few of them. I don't know if they timed the individuals up to the time they grouped into Cells. CT assumed that might be the case, because he sprinted when he could. Are they still in Croatia? With the pandemic, they probably didn't go to another location for the Final. Also, CT didn't say how the money would be split. When they started out as individuals, people might have assumed it was winner take all, only one winner. CT didn't say it would be split, or if second place would take some small token amount of the prize. I guess that will be in part II. Surprised there hasn't been an eating challenge yet.

She may have been saying she didn't have a block of 3 hours just to clean up the laundry room because she was usually doing laundry and other tasks.
-
The title of the episode, "Chiantishire," wasn't coined by the show. It describes some English privileged people who would go to Italy, Tuscany as it turns out, to spend summers. So it's a 19th century, maybe even earlier thing. One example would be Room with a View by E.M. Forster, which was made into a movie with Maggie Smith and Helena Bonham-Carter.

Kind of sucks that the winners get to put those with life shields in the elimination and then if they use the life shields, they can choose 2 more.
-
You think any guests are actually using the bidet. Or that those bidets have been used much in the life of the yacht? If this were a real job, she might think twice before talking back. Or maybe she feels Jake has been singling her out and she's had it.

Dexter is a neat freak. That's what the plastic, ritual. the slides, etc. were all about. He was meticulous in his job in Miami and in Iron Lake. He probably organized the ammo and the lures and stuff.

House Hunters International - General Discussion

She said the dog was a primary factor in choosing the third place, the outdoor space. But that little garden was all concrete, not grass. However, looks like a lot of greenery nearby for the dog. Didn't catch what she did for work. Maybe she has no plans to work, especially not that she's pregnant. So we didn't hear about how she needed to be near city amenities during the day. Was Floor flirting with them a little? First the bit about seeing up his skirt from below and then she said all 3 of them could fit in the big shower, have a party. Being a bit naughty or just being a tease? OK this is the first Amsterdam episode I recall her being in. Sarah seemed to all or most of the Amsterdam ones and some in other Netherland cities once in awhile. Floor seemed to cover most of those other cities, especially southern Netherlands. Even though it's a small country, there's plenty for both of them. Or is HGTV closing the book on the chipper American? -
Susan must be delusional. The black and white interludes, starting with the first scene, looks like something out of a classic movie. But the viewer is drawn in through the fourth wall, with stage directions starting the scene of Susan’s solicitor taking her call from prison. She sees the world in black and white, the B & W of the old movies she adores. Possibly she’s not competent to work. She speaks French fluently so she should be the one going on job interviews rather than Chris, who can’t speak the language. So is Christopher protecting his wife, maintaining the delusion? Going on job interviews for who knows how long before finally admitting to her that he can’t get a job in France. He doesn’t know that the police back in the UK lack the proof to have French police arrest them so he volunteers them to return. Susan goes along with it. She’s spending money on expensive movie posters and imagines seeing Gerard Depardieu on their train back to the UK. The true life characters on which Susan and Chris are based were probably not as interesting. Seems like the show is going to play their relationship as genuine love, both of them, protecting each other, sincerely believing in their innocence. That’s going to be a challenge for the leads, portraying characters who bury elderly parents who were executed (based on each getting shot twice in the chest) and then fled to France for 15 years. Did they sell the home and take the proceeds?

Would it really make that much difference if Roman or Shiv was the youngest?
