Jenny and Doyle finally do the deed but bittersweet, probably one and done because Doyle is in trouble with ordering the hit on Jackie and funneling money for guns for the IRA. Do the Irish have big American style breakfasts? Europeans generally don't, so where would Doyle learned how to have make eggs, pancakes, etc.? Jackie and DeCourcy's case against Dryden isn't holding up because of witness problems. But what do you know, Jackie bugs and puts a camera in Dryden's house to film a former FBI colleague taking a bribe to suppress evidence and they flip him. No matter, Dryden has pull and DeCourcy's boss may intervene to stop the investigation. Again, why would a former FBI guy have much pull with the local DA? Well Dryden is rich so he can spread money around. But Guy Dan is running for higher office, so Dryden would be a big catch, a headline-friendly case. OTOH, Dan could fund his statewide campaign. Leticia makes it clear that she will go down with Dryden if necessary, when Jackie tries to warn her.

Did Serena ask for Hanna to be prominently featured in the funeral? Why would they feature the funeral live in the middle of Toronto like that? Maybe show some clips later, that’s about it. I doubt the Queens funeral on Monday will be so prominent in the US. They may show it live but would they do it in Times Square, with tight close ups of people? Of course it’s for drama, June was starting to feel she could move on with life in Canada because of that ballet performance. But not only do they literally throw Serena in her face, it’s Hanna taking part in the funeral of her rapist. So June will dig that gun back up, escape into Gilead. I’m surprised Tupelo went down there. He represents the US in exile, which is at war with Gilead. If they imprisoned or killed him, what is US or Canada going to do? If they kept Serena from returning to Canada, what are they going to do aBout it? Serena is still a prisoner, up for charges at the ICC? But sHe demands to take Fred back to Gilead for a state funeral and they give her a private jet? WTH! I can buy that June and some of the former handmaids are angry, wanting revenge, while others like Moira or even Rita just want to move on with their lives, deal with the PTSD, be supported by loved ones as well as support them. But they’re going to return to the teeth of the lions den to play out tHeir revenge fantasy?

Buying would be a bigger commitment than renting. Certainly selling their San Diego house indicates that they're really moving down there. I don't know how easy it would be for them to sell the home and get at least all their money out. Since the husband is European it is strange that they didn't choose Europe but the costs would certainly be higher, especially for a larger home. Maybe they really wanted that beach lifestyle. Can't recall if they got a pool. If they're some distance away from the beach, maybe they don't go to the beach every day if they have a pool. They were commenting on how many potholes there were in the road to their gated community. That's better than some other Latin American places, where it was unpaved roads which got very muddy in the rain season. If it's about weather and proximity to beach, I'm not sure how different it is than staying in San Diego. Certainly cheaper, they could have sold their SD home for millions and have millions in the bank even after buying a $900k home.

He wouldn't be that good on the regular Challenge. They don't do enough endurance activities in the Daily Challenges. This Challenge USA season had a couple of Daily Challenges where swimming was a key part of who won. He'd be tough running up the mountain. He's not bad with the slide puzzles either. But anything involving strength especially in elimination, would pit him against someone likely heavier and stronger.

Now that her first goal of being locked up didn’t happen, you know she’s going to do the same thing Emily did, go back to get more revenge, especially Lydia, as well as try to get back Hanna. And They will find some conTrivance to get Serena back with her demanding to take Fred’s remains back to Gilead. Wow that second episode, never would have guessed the connection between Earn and Lisa. Earn has come a long way since the days of working at the car rental counter and hanging around Paper Boi in hopes of getting to manage his burgeoning career. Well money wise. Had the sense that he was making a bad decision but turned out he was victimized. Now that he’s rich, he’s not just going to tolerate being victimized? So the racist TSA lady was going to get hers. But Alfred didn’t co-sign his vindictive little con and Darius didn’t mince words — “can’t tell if this is extreme pettiness or terrorism.” Earn tells himself he needs more therpy.

Episode 1, Atlanta is a surreal place, but they’ve delved into the strangeness in pockets of Atlanta in previous seasons. First Darius, almost oblivious or doesn’t care there’s looting going on until he meets the Karen from hell. Sardonic — I got an air fryer as a gift but the. I remembered I have an oven — but just want to get it over with. Why would the Karen zero in on the air fryer, out of all the things people are taking out of the store, maybe some comment about current fads, because it’s one of the things featured in infomercials at the minute? Then Earn and Vanessa go to some mall bUt turns out it’s some limbo for all the people they’ve dated. Are they back together now, did they reconcile after the Europe trip or because of that trip? They were supposedly together for awhile, leading to their daughter so how do they have such a busy past and how do they not know about each other’s past dating histories? Some of these exes are from 7 or 10 years ago? How old is their daughter, you’d think they’d have been together then. Alfred here’s about the demise of a hip hop artist whom he idolized. Then sees some BBQ joint referenced in a song, orders a menu item, again from the song, sees a scavenger hunt. He ends up at a funeral hosted by this Blueblood’s widow. Meanwhile Earn and Van can’t find his car at this mall of exes, nor can anyone else so they go through an Emergency Exit and emerge at the funeral home. They also find Darius outside and they all drive away. I wasn’t aware than some of tHe scenes references some real life events. But I think more about the surreal plots, with some horror elements — like Earn and Van panicking a bit trying to escape thE mall (and their past?), Darius being hounded and hunted by wheelchair Karen — maybe acknowledging this genre explored by other black directors like Jordan Peele, Boots Riley or Misha Green. I don’t know if this is a conscious effort by black film artists, using tHe surreal, horror elements to depict some aspects of African-American life. Maybe someone will coin a name for this genre, like they did for writers associated with magic realism.

I think you're right, I forget it's jumping back and forth in timelines. When they show that film strip or view master scenes it's suppose to indicate a time jump but you don't know until there's some dialog that they're in the older timeline unless JP is in the scene. So yeah this is one of his suicide attempts. Does Thomas figure out that the suicide attempts were failed attempts to murder The Prick? From his POV it may not matter, they may invalidate the claim because he has been determined to have attempted suicide, maybe more than once.

Guess the few thousand he had in his bank account wasn't worth it to him. So if others finished, Danny and Sarah would have split less than $500k between them? Guessing the people who made it to the Finals got paid a few thousand for lasting the whole season up to the Final. So finishing the Final for a few thousand probably wasn't enough of an incentive, especially in that miserable weather.

If she doesn't speak Spanish, then it would hobble her, especially at her age. If she was in elementary school, it would be different. But the international school, presumably would prepare her to apply to university back in the US, which is what they want. So it wouldn't be a permanent move for the daughters at least, give them an option to go back to US for college. I suppose the family could also decide to go back to the US but it's probably tougher if they buy instead of rent a home. The international school wouldn't be as immersive as a local school and if they only socialize with other American expats, maybe this wouldn't be the greatest international experience. Also an oceanside town with some of those properties which seem to be separated out from the local residential neighborhoods (seemed like it could be a gated community and it's doubtful a lot of Costa Ricans are buying homes which cost almost $1 million), may not be as immersive in the local culture. So if they really wanted their daughters to get into the local culture, probably would have been better to be in a bigger city. Maybe the parents just wanted to be near the coast, at a fraction of the price it would take back in the US. Nice lifestyle, especially if they play tennis and go to the beach often.

Sure unless there's a reason to suspect foul play, police investigators won't go to those lengths. Or even order an autopsy, though the roofie wouldn't be detectable. Not to mention Bibi calling Eve right at the time they were at Grace's home. Thomas seems to have found some evidence that he liked, maybe about JP attempting suicide? Well the San Diego family was looking for a big home, with rooms for the daughters and proximity to their international schools. They said they checked the school out first before making the decision to move. They also elaborated on how they wanted to move when the older daughter was entering high school, so that they wouldn't pull her out of school if she was already there. Sounded believable that they'd been thinking about moving overseas for awhile. And they purchased a rather costly home, though they probably have a lot of money left over after selling their San Diego property. Maybe one or both of them wanted to wind down from their jobs, though both will work remotely. It sounded like he wasn't that enthusiastic about his job. It's believable that they'd want to live overseas since the father was Dutch but why Costa Rica? Probably relatively cheap and if they needed to go back, it was nearby.
