  1. I don't know; driftwood seemed appropriate for a people linked to the sea.
  2. I had recently read speculation about the name Hodor coming from a corruption of "hold the door", but they thought it would happen at the Tower of Joy and that he was defending Lyanna as she was giving birth. Yeah, that puzzled me, too. And made my head hurt.
  3. Weirdly, my sister gets "silent" migraines; that is, she gets the auras, but not the pain. So, it's only a problem when she's driving.
  4. Just watched it again and noticed a tiny thing that made me chuckle - when Ser Jorah is fighting the Dothraki, he grabs a handful of sand and throws it in his face - except the Dothraki just leans back and lets it go whistling past. They stare at each other for a split second and then the fight resumes. I liked that it didn't work. That's life, after all; sometimes you miss.
  5. LOVE AdBlock Plus. Free and easy. https://adblockplus.org/
  6. I watched it again and didn't see Daario say that. He was just dumbstruck and slowly knelt and bowed his head. Must have been a shock for him to realize his lover really is all that. I heard it, too. I also noticed when she saw men running around the curve of the wall, fire suddenly leaped to cut them off, so I believe she was totally controlling the fire, not just surviving it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d7VSzMix7Q
  7. Shouldn't take long to bring her up to speed if she IS travelling north.
  8. OMG, I just this moment realized Olenna is Diana Rigg! Totally not paying attention, although I though she looked somewhat familiar. Or maybe it was her voice that was familiar. Really puts a new spin on the scene where she tells Margaery "I was good. I was very, very good." This. It would be the ultimate payoff for all of her assassin-in-training scenes. And better it come from a Stark. Agreed. I really didn't like her much at all until she finally accepted Brienne's oath of fealty. Then, she looked strong and regal. Like she'd finally come into her own. He might have bitten off more than he could chew this time. He's used to manipulating a weak and vulnerable and gullible girl. She's not any of those things any more. I actually think he wants her ("You're even more beautiful than your mother."), but didn't want to deal with an emotional, virginal girl. Putting her thru that marriage with Ramsay gets rid of all that first-time baggage and makes him look better in contrast. I wonder if he planned to "save" Sansa with Robin's army and then sweep a grateful Sansa into a quickie marriage that made him the Warden of the North, and married to the beautiful daughter of Catelyn. Oopsie, she saved herself, she's with Jon and she has friends. I don't think she'll be glad to see him again.
  9. I know! She almost had that knife. Ickily enough, I first read that as Littlefinger slithering into Sansa's pants...
  10. "Uhh, khakis?" never fails to crack me up. Always use those antiseptic wipes for the cart, too. My sister's kids' childhood sniffles plummeted after she started doing that. I always have visions of some snotty-nosed kid with a leaking diaper having been in the seat of my cart, drooling on the handle and I scrub that sucker!
  11. They're saying to see them as a person as opposed to just staring at their psoriasis or thinking of them as "psoriasis person". They're not just a disease. They're people with talents and interests who just happen to have a disease that you can't catch, so stop treating them like a damned leper. Full disclosure - my SIL has psoriasis and lots of people are pretty damned rude. ETA: That's a generic "you", not a you "you".
  12. The houses are smiling! Love it!
  13. Interesting everyone talking about all the "evacs" this season when this last one was from not being able to "evac". Sorry, I'm 12. I've made it to 55 without knowing this! Very interesting little tidbit. I knew that in general, gorging when you aren't used to it, like on holidays, can make you very sorry several hours later. Thank you! I swear I've tried that without success before and ended up copying my answers, refreshing and going back to re-tag the posts I want to respond to. I will definitely try this in future. I've seen them use a big needle attached with a stopcock to a giant syringe before. It's a little less messy. :) I'm not sure who I'm rooting for - I guess either Aubry or Cydney, although both have been shown pissing people off as well as making moves - that seems par for getting to the end of this game, though. It just depends how they handle the jury. Tai? He has been all over the place and he doesn't do well with impromptu speaking, so I don't think he'll win. I would have the most problem with Michelle winning, because I don't feel as though she's made any big moves that were hers alone. She's not offensive, but she hasn't been this mastermind either, from what I've seen.
  14. Yeah, when the people at work found out Imp had died, one coworker got all excited and said, "My sister has a stray cat she needs to get rid of!" She still has no clue how close she came to getting punched in the face. My grief is NOT an opportunity for you. That said, the teacher did look happy, so maybe they know her better than we are assuming. One article said the teacher's cat was 16, so maybe it had been declining for awhile and there had been discussions with the students beforehand.
  15. The thing I hated was losing my eyelashes. My eyes watered constantly - people thought I was crying and the skin under my eyes was actually chapped. [TMI - not to mention how startled I was the first time pee went sideways without hair to "direct" the flow. [/TMI]
  16. Willow cut Buffy's hair to revive her? Could've sworn she barfed up a snake or some such. :P
  17. Wow, good thing we're allowed to have different opinions, no?
  18. Her face looks oddly tight in all the wrong places.
  19. I would probably be dead? You know nothing about me, my strengths or abilities. ;) And maybe it's heresy, but I could give two shits about what the author has opined in some interview. The show is an adaptation of his books and I judge it by what I see on my screen each week. I also have no idea exactly how Arya would have handled being in Sansa's shoes, but I suspect it would have been very different and that would have been a very different storyline. Maybe more interesting, maybe not. Arya's personality appeals to me more than Sansa's does. I suspect it's the reverse for you, but different strokes and all. I appreciate Arya's willingness to buck what society expects from her. Although she was indeed fortunate to meet Yoren and Gendry, I suspect she didn't consider herself "lucky" to have been kidnapped by The Hound. Although she eventually won him over (and vice versa), that might have been more down to her pluck and determination than anything else. I think so, anyway. :) As am I. Does everyone have to like and be invested in every character and storyline? Of course not. There's enough going on to please most everyone. And I like that.
  20. About damned time. Her snivelling in the palace while her little sister was out kicking ass has irritated the crap out of me. Seriously. And I lost a quote about what we saw in the spreading bloodstain from Jon Snow's murder: I thought I saw a brief outline of a howling wolf.
