  1. I had always heard the "silent meow" was either a sign of affection, like the "slow blink", and/or a very cute plea for something. Lucy does it when she wants me to prop the door open so she can people-watch my neighbors in the hallway. But this article suggests the meow isn't silent at all - just too high-pitched for us to hear. http://pets.thenest.com/reasons-cats-make-silent-meows-11272.html
  2. Our local Noodles & Co. has one of those and I love it.
  3. I'm with you, proserpina. I'm a woman and thought the ad was fine. I even admired her body and I'm straight as a board.
  4. And here I was thinking, "Damn! How old is this woman? She looks fabulous!"
  5. Give yourself time, and if you change your mind... PS - she's gorgeous!
  6. That's awful about your Dad, TattleTeeny. Poor guy.
  7. I think it's kinda both - vwah-la. But people get lazy ( "v" and then "w", too? That's hard!) or don't hear it properly or something.
  8. Ah! Again, I've only ever heard it like "ice". I think I'm with her on this one. Hie-gl isn't that hard and you're not being snotty when you correct someone mangling your name.
  9. Yeah, I'm pretty sure they soup those babies up.
  10. I hate it, because he always does what he vowed never to do. So at the end, when he says, "I'm never letting go.", logically, he's going to walk out on them.
  11. I don't remember this. I've only ever heard it with a hard "g".
  12. Oh, you guys! Being so sensible and everything! ;)
  13. Before I read the rest of your sentence, I thought you were going here:
  14. They're on their way! She just got impatient.
  15. I see it as he thinks she thinks the chimp is really king of the jungle and he's correcting her. "No, don't ask him. I'm the king of the jungle." And really, do we have any evidence he doesn't know where he's going? We just see her carping at him. I still think he should just drop her and keep moving.
  16. Nah, he's not getting in the middle of that. And Jane is a bitch. When she's sniping, "Do you have to do that right in my ear?", I'm yelling, "Drop her! You can do better!"
  17. They have snack cups? Mmm, must look for those.
  18. True story - we had identical twins in the children's hospital where I work, named (drum roll, please) Dominique and Unique. *headdesk* How unique can she be when she's an identical twin?
  19. I know we've discussed that TransUnion commercial with all the people singing "Getting to Know You" while snooping for someone's personal info. I don't understand a lot about how credit reporting works, so maybe someone can help me. What good does it do to lock your credit report? Wouldn't it better to lock your info from being used? Or is that what they're doing? Wouldn't locking your credit report keep YOU from buying things? Or are they suggesting you keep it locked at all times, unlocking it only long enough to get a new credit card, buy a car, get a mortgage, etc.? Aren't there legitimate reasons someone would need access to your credit report without calling you each and every time? What if the thief strikes during that time you have it open for your own use? I'm just not seeing the need for this service. How is this different from a service like Life Lock? Thanks in advance for educating me.
