  1. Sometimes I have to stop myself from making jokes that I can’t make here. This….this is one of those times.
  2. I guess I can venture a guess here, but it’s based on people I know who are/were very fundamentalist. Many of them consider any church that doesn’t openly rail against homosexuality in every sermon “liberal.” With those people, churches don’t even have to condone alternative lifestyles, but if they don’t get a comment about “them gays” in every sermon, the church is liberal. Also, there seems to be a consensus that if a church doesn’t declare that a single drink of alcohol will send you into the fiery pits of hell, they’re liberal. There’s more, but I’ll digress. I also interpret Ethan’s “I’ll instill patriotism in my kids and Olivia isn’t patriotic” as “my kids will be conservative, and Olivia isn’t voting Republican right now.” Yes, I’m assuming Ethan’s stance, but I’m basing my assumptions on what I know of fundamentalists.
  3. Later Observation ”Can we talk” is a yes or no question. “Can dad come” is not a real response. Holy fuck, go have a conversation with this brother you claim you want to talk to.
  4. Early observations: WHO TOLD THESE PEOPLE THEY CAN SING?! I can go to any bar around my city and find 10 people on a random Tuesday who sound better.
  5. Robyn’s meltdown was the high point of the series. Not just season, series.
  6. So Ethan is still a lying little worm of a man. He lied to Olivia, then lied to Micah. The only positive from him was refusing to give into Moriah’s bullshit.
  7. Olivia is a beautiful, well spoken young woman. Ethan is a man child who would rather kiss ass in the cult he was raised in. I’m thrilled for her that she’s done with him, and the fact that he said he didn’t want her influencing his children is just the final nail in that coffin. He’s afraid of his kids not parroting the dipshit and the bitch who raised him. His best bet is to dip back into the Fundy well and try to find another one.
  8. A: Like the wonderful mother she is, Kim decided to have a very personal conversation with her teenage daughter on TV. B: No. Olivia said she wasn’t going if Kim would be there after being told that Kim wouldn’t be.
  9. Did you see that dumbass look on Micah’s face when Ethan said that? He doesn’t know what to do since everyone in this family blindly believes whatever story they heard first.
  10. Minimal thoughts from tonight’s snooze fest. Barrys lip snarl when he mentioned Olivia was obvious. Fortunately for him and Kim, they fucked these kids up so much in their youth, they’re all crawling back for more. Oh, and Mariah is still annoying.
  11. Apparently the dumb little bitch forgives him for expecting her to pay her share of the rent. Oh, what a work Jesus has done in her life.
  12. I know you’re “supposed” to feel sadness when a marriage ends, but I’m happy for them both. No mortgage, no kids, presumably no retirement accounts. All of the hard stuff to split up doesn’t exist here. They’re both young and have a lifetime ahead of them. It became more obvious the longer they were together that Olivia was growing toward a life unlike the one she had known and Ethan was not.
  13. I think this is only partially true. There’s some reason that the oldest daughter is never around and (to my knowledge) doesn’t appear on social media platforms with her family. Thinking Kim was whacked out before the grief. C: the dead kid; D: absent eldest child. E; the parentification of Lydia
  14. Ethan and Olivia are going to split; it’s “when” not “if.” And that’s fine. They’ve changed, and aren’t compatible. They have no kids, don’t own a home, and have none of the things that divorcing people have to fight through. They’re young, and can keep this quick and easy. BUT getting marriage advice from your unmarried sister who says that she purposely “keeps it casual” is the dumbest fucking thing I’ve ever heard.
  15. That I don’t know. But we do know he couldn’t read a menu on their first date and still says the “pictures help him.”
  16. I’ll venture a guess here. I think Olivia wants to do the stuff that most people do in their late teens/early 20s. Drink some, party, maybe travel. Ethan wants a slow, simple life where he works, tinkers with his cars, and goes home. I think what they’re calling “values” are really “interests.” I don’t think Olivia’s values involve bartending, but it’s something that interests her. Their values have also changed tho. Olivia no longer considers herself a Christian while Ethan does. He seems to want a kid, she doesn’t. But I think most of their differences involve interests. They just use the terms interchangeably.
  17. If she had stolen the music and destroyed it, it would’ve been a public service.
  18. Ethan, bro….if your wife says “don’t do donuts with me in the car,” maybe don’t do donuts with your wife in the car.
  19. Almost made it a week without Moriah. Ah well, what would a week have been without her “finding her voice” and making herself the victim of everything?
  20. Absolute bullshit that Kim keeps making it known that Isaac introduced them. Way to tell your 17 year old “hey, thanks for finding me a replacement for your dad!” Legit, I hate this woman.
  21. I’m trying to figure out which one of them is the winner in this estrangement…. They both seem like absolute assholes in every way imaginable.
  22. Not a ton to add that hasn't been covered. The only wife Robyn gives a shit about leaving is the one that Kody can't stand. That's not an accident. Meri being around lets Kody keep his "plural marriage" routine while Robyn doesn't have to worry about him parking his car in another garage. Robyn says that all of this has left her "angry and depressed." Good! Truly, good. I wish nothing but utter misery for her and Kody. If this isn't making her happy, I hope it drags on even longer.
  23. But didn’t you hear? She’s the “oldest female in the house.” That means she’s the stand-in wife and mother. Fortunately, she’s bought all the way into the cult shit that these people push so she’s a viable replacement.
  24. She gets her self righteousness from her mother.
  25. My wife spent years in banking, and I do real estate. There’s no bank that either of us have ever heard of that would even let a minor sign for a loan, let alone on an airplane. They’ve said before that none of the kids were educated enough to function in the real world. I’d guess his reading level is incredibly low. Exactly.
