S07.E22: Tell All, Part 3
Back Atcha replied to TwirlyGirly's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days
(My bolding) You're so right. Too often, disabled people are beaten or killed for much less. Maybe Niles is mimicking "successful" responses he's seen. Matilda may have some control over her husband...but not those he encounters. I'll worry. His behavior on the set isn't going to be accepted for very long in most areas of Texas. TigerLily seems savvy; I hope she talks sense to him privately. Maybe his Texas mosque friends can ease him into more "American Muslim" behavior. -
I feel that he had the power and the acolytes to do just that.

S07.E22: Tell All, Part 3
Back Atcha replied to TwirlyGirly's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days
Thanks, 1011101010001, I should have been precise...I didn't mean "autism alone." I think it was a big mistake for this program to select Niles without more references to his syndrome AND assistants to help him. Far-away Matilda shouldn't be his only source. I'm not a professional or even a current volunteer, but decades ago I had minor experience with kids on the spectrum--even before we said "spectrum" or had adequate help in our schools. Was she required to play the part of the Mean Girl? For years there have been complaints about her lack of knowledge of the shows where she led "telling all." There is a vast community supporting kids/adults on the spectrum. I hope the word gets out to them so there's some "organized" response. I'm just an old woman who helped in classrooms and a school for (actually) "r******* children," learning by experience...and luckily, born with sympathy, empathy, and common sense. AND...that program also needs more explanation about the culture of Adnan's country and religion. He shouldn't be allowed to SCREAM at Sunny about his (Adnan's) personal Allah. He's in America now and he's no longer in charge of anyone but himself. -
S07.E22: Tell All, Part 3

Thank you, Surfgirl. I wonder WHY no one in Production...or no one with the right experience was hired for this particular "Tell All" series. Niles was given no special accommodation...and even Shaun seemed to goad on him and Adnan. I don't know WHO thought this was good TV, but not only is there no EMPATHY here ... it's either ignorance or hatefulness. I hope we've seen the end of the dangerous (televised) behavior. WHY are no other posters writing with concern about Niles' autism...except to question it? This should have been stopped by Production before it got as far as it did ... and it should NOT have been filmed. I know these shows are exploitive, but this was too much. Are we sure that "autism is not a defense"? -
"Our" Catholic church. I went to the same Phoenix parish most of my life (First Communion, Confirmation, Marriage); the church wasn't built until I was 4-5 years old. I loved all the ritual and "sameness," knowing/understanding all the Latin because our prayerbooks had the left page in Latin and the right in English. The sermons never meant much to me as a kid/teenager...except when they would be begging for money (ugh!). STILL...once a year, two missionaries (the same two priests) would visit every year for a Novena. They would invite us to nine evenings where they would tell us about the poverty in the country they were assigned, ask for money, and then PREACH! OMG, is this what preaching is? Hallelelujah! Those two priests had a packed house every one of those nine nights. We didn't have a car and were used to the 2-mi walk to church every Sunday and school every weekday. This, though, was at night (paved road), but no sidewalks. We walked in gravel...happily! Yeah--shock, I never heard a spiritually rousing sermon in my Catholic church into those missionaries flew into town!!!

Along with the excuses ... surprising excuses on all kinds of TrumpOptics from some surprising places. Maybe a regular VIEW segment could be Alyssa's presenting President Trump's daily ratings.
-
Probably over-acting trying make sure Daddy remembers she's a Trump TOO. We could use a whole network (temporarily) just for the lip-reading of Vance and President Trump at the recent events. Inquiring gossips want to know!
-
Oh, nooooooooo! Leave him alone. Let the kid be a normal college guy...I hope he's not wearing that Trump Bros UNATTRACTIVE hairstyle at school. I felt sorry for him at the few Inauguration scenes I saw while channel-surfing. Cool coat, though.
-
Thank you, Shrek! Why don't these know-it-alls ask their older relatives about recuperation from THEIR hip surgeries! There will be some horror stories!!! I think the hip replacement surgery was 12/14...36 days before Inauguration Day. Speaker Emeritus Pelosi is 84 years old. I would bet she's still using a walker. Apparently she's expected to wobble through the snow to attend the Inauguration of a human who has been nothing but horrible to her/about her and her family. Here's some info about recuperation: Within first month after surgery is when the real work begins. You might experience pain as the soft tissues heal. After the second month: Most patients have regained much of their strength and endurance. Third+months: You should be about 60% recovered. At six months: Most patients can resume normal activities. 1 year: You should be about 95% recovered. Full recovery can take up to two years. Factors that affect recovery Activity level: How active you were before surgery can affect how quickly you recover. Age!! Your age can affect how quickly you recover.

DITTO on Joy/Anna. I'm not of Alyssa's political persuasion)s), but I came to appreciate her calm, common sense approach. Until now. WHAT THE FUDDLE HAPPENED TO HER ??? She even LOOKS mean! Hope this isn't an effect of IVF ....

I'm old. I pick these two lanes. Dated in the late 50s/mid-60s. Remained a virgin without assault/battery. Dated again in the 80s/90s. MANY of us flirted with our platonic friends. Vice versa. Dates with no hanky-panky, a bit-o-kissing, but nothing serious. I actually still have some of those platonic friends from the 50s, 60s, 80s, 90s. I'm old.

Is "a storyline" their relationship?
-
Doesn't Production control who's IN and who's OUT. Andy Cohen has reinvented characters and banished participants on his whims. Maybe "isn't," but "WAS," according to what Bravo showed on TV. (1) Me too. (2) DEFINITELY!
-
I hope it's The Powers That Be causing this turnaround. She seemed like a level-headed Republican...even times when the rest of the table was against her. Now she's just a shrill shill. $he $old what wa$ left of her $oul. I'm disappointed; she really seemed to be part of the group. AND...what's up with her TAN HANDS? Does no one check these ladies who use tanners. The insides of her hands are almost neon gold!
-
And occasionally, not be so obvious about allowing Whoopi to ALWAYS have the last word before going to commercial break. It's not always about the clock.
-
Someone in Production must have liked Taylor from the start. Her hair, make-up, tanning, and wardrobe gradually improved over the seasons. Her personality devolved. I wonder if she agreed to be the bitchy, sleep-around, troubled Shep-ex for the rest of her Bravo career. If it's in her contract, I hope there was a big bump in pay. It's weird to see Shep appear so uncomfortable around her.

Andy Cohen mentioned this on his show a couple of times; the staff has gone through all JT's video and no one has been able to find him calling Pat a name. Viewers saw Andy specifically mention this to Craig (no "confrontation"); it may have been a time when many of Craigs LIES were featured--one after one, because he had actually said, "I never lied on the show." I don't believe Craig thought he heard JT say the "B" word...unless, like so many of Craig's lies, he doesn't listen closely and repeats something that's way off. Way off...but attention-getting. His lies about finishing law school, taking the Bar, being late, and so many others were blatant; everyone (including viewers) eventually knew he lied-lied-lied.
-
MY EXACT THOUGHTS! Get rid of this "friend of the show" before there's a serious lawsuit or arrest! HE'S TROUBLE !!! (Sadly, she seemed to enjoy it.) Apparently, Shep doesn't like his look.
-
AND...when Craig and Venita stood up in the pool, their heads were above water. It HAD to be a stunt. Venita (or Production) realized it wasn't deep enough to stay "under," so she had to spout a line about being afraid. Hope the show pays for Craig's expensive shoes.

I'll try to find the episode to see if Sunny was merely sitting back ... without an obvious attitude (pro OR con).
-
"Smug" above is referring to Alyssa. I think she's learning to fight fire with fire. No one on the panel has developed a MORE condescending "face" and attitude than Sunny. Either she has told the camera people when to expect "that look" during her performance--OR they're a bit tired of her shenanigans. Either way, they hold on her for several seconds while she poses. Three of "the looks": I'm jealous and damned proud of it. Manny is well aware. I'm a helicopter mom and my perfect children are very successful. I'm a lawyer and better than everyone at this table. P.S. Whoopi is more ticked at Alyssa these days, so she's laying off Sunny. I'm assuming it's temporary. And...all ladies should know better: thou shalt NOT interrupt Whoopi who will always have the last word.

Say Yes To The Dress - General Discussion
Back Atcha replied to Rhondinella's topic in Say Yes To The Dress
New "executives" come in...some with no showbiz experience and throw their weight around, making insensible changes. It's UNbelievable how many quality programs/series are shelved. Often the cast/crew were paid, so there's no huge outcry. -
If Bravo is "forced" to take sides in the Craig vs. Paige separation, I need to let them know, "The LESS of Craig the better," and that's not anything new.
-
Whoopi yelled at ME and some of her co-hosts once too often this morning. I turned off the TV. 1. I don't like her anyway. 2. I don't enjoy her ALWAYS having the last word...the last LOUD word before commercial breaks. ALWAYS! 3. Could we start a GoFundMe account for her? 4. It's a waste of time to say (again) that she's wrong more often than right ... but so LOUD no one notices. 5. She needs to disguise or HIDE her disdain for Alyssa.

90 Day: The Last Resort
Back Atcha replied to Shrek's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Other Spinoffs & Specials
Didn't she hint at an ongoing relationship before she brought the husband to LIVE with them? Also, I stopped watching LONG ago, so I wouldn't have seen anything.
